Riah

Rescued from West LA Animals shelter in 2008, Mariah now called Riah was adopted by me and her dog sister Stitch. A few months later her brother Buddy came along, also rescued. She was listed as a doxie/chi mix however after watching her I started seeing bits of JRT and Beagle in her. Riah's jumping made me think she was part Kangaroo, which I then started calling her Riah Roo and Roo Roo. Riah loves to sleep under the covers or on top of the covers but right smack by me in bed. If not in bed she loves her beds or snuggling with her brother & or sister in one of the dog beds. Riah loves going on walks, car rides with mama, and she most definitely does not like being left alone if she doesn't have to be. Riah loves belly rubs & loves to give kisses which I take as her talking. I was on disability for my congenital heart defect & now am for stage 4 Cancer. Riah is my kid, my everything. I would do anything for her like I would her dog brother & sister. I've always tried to save enough in case of an emergency, but Cancer was not saved up for. Riah we thought had allergies for the past two years, but it turned out that it wasn't allergies it was in fact cancer. After being seen by a competent vet at Best Friends Animal Hospital, they referred me to a Vet Dermatologist which was the one who took the biopsies & diagnosed her with Cutaneous Lymphoma with observations of CETL. Currently, she goes to SFV- Veterinary Cancer Group, Dr. Wiles. Riah thinks the vacuum and fireworks are evil. She will bark & chase the vacuum with her siblings and hide or stick right by me when the fireworks go. She loves to bark out front in the yard & act like she is house security. She wants to be friends with everyone, & wants to play with them even if they don't. She will never run from me but put her in the park or a yard she zooms like the roadrunner

A little over 3 years ago we stopped by the vet to drop something off and I see a little kitten in the back. I was told they found him in a box at Starbucks and he was looking for his forever home. As soon as I held him I knew he was meant to be a part of the family. It was love at first sight. Looch was such a sweet little kitten that quickly grew to the sweetest big baby. Looch is the biggest cat in the house (out of 4) and will always find the smallest box or space to lay in. He’s silly and will just appear out of nowhere demanding love. Aside from wrestling with his brothers and sister, he loves any kind of string or ball to play with. The best moments are when he gets his zoomies and gallops around the house! About 2 months ago we had to unexpectedly put our dog to rest and aside from an emotional impact, we also got hit pretty hard financially. Paying off that bill, getting our youngest kitten neutered, and now this, we’re struggling to keep up. Overall Looch is a healthy boy. But over the last week, we could tell something was off... he wasn’t his normal happy go lucky self. We took him to North Penn Animal Hospital where he is admitted for an emergency procedure. Looch has a blockage that needs to be taken care of to avoid a negative impact on his kidneys. Everything Looch does makes us smile. He is a big goofy lover. He loves giving us and the other cats kisses... he’ll spread out in the weirdest positions and lets out the sweetest little meows. But when he gallops around letting out that extra energy it’s s the best! It’s like he’s trying to parkour! It also never gets old when you look over and see him peeking around staring at you.
Shiva
Shiva is a 8-year-old German Shepherd mix in San Antonio, TX, who needs $2,000 for chemotherapy.

It's one of the worst moments in a pet owner's life, the moment a veterinarian tells you your pet has cancer. Crystal A. had a feeling something was wrong with her precious dog, Shiva. "Shiva started acting lethargic and down," she tells Waggle. "But when she started not wanting to eat, we knew something was wrong. Our poor baby was diagnosed with lymphoma and possible hemangiosarcoma cancers." The only option for treatment is chemotherapy. That dreaded news hit Crystal and her husband, who is unable to work due to health problems, hard. The couple depleted their emergency fund and are completely panicked about how to pay for Shiva's treatment. They just don't have the money. And the thought of not trying to save Shiva is even more heartbreaking. Shiva also has a spark in her! She knows lots of tricks and loves to show off. Her family just can't imagine life without her. The oncology team at Blue Pearl Veterinary Specialty and Emergency pet hospital are ready to start treatment but the family needs your help. The sweet dog is the heart and soul of her family. "Shiva loves to sunbathe in her downtime, but she also loves to go for walks and play fetch with her favorite ball," Crystal adds. "Something she hasn't lost joy for while sick, though she has slowed down. She is gentle and loving even when our young daughter is a little too exuberant." "Shiva is the glue that holds her pack, a brother and sister together," Crystal says. "Shiva was a stray that wiggled her way into our hearts when she was about four-months-old. She has traveled the world with us; from Georgia to Hawaii, to Virginia and to Texas. It is not easy being part of a military family."
Hunter

UPDATE: THANK YOU DONOR!! God bless you! Hunter became ill over the weekend and needed emergent surgery today. He’s home and only has his Canines and Insizers left. He’s been sleeping peacefully and ate a bit. More than he has in 3 days. Thank you again! He’s finally on the mend to being a normal cat and enjoy his life. Hunter was taken to the vet and was diagnosed with severe Gingivitis. He is being treated with 3 daily medicines for the last year and steroid shots every month. He sleeps on the bed. I jokingly call him Rip Van Winkle because he slept 20-22 hours a day. Now with his treatments we get a glimpse of him being a cat. He feels great for 2 weeks but unfortunately his immune system attacks his gums I am on a single fixed income. His medicines a month run a little over 100 dollars. There’s no way I could afford his life changing surgery. Hunter needs your help. Hunter’s last hope to a happy life is to extract all of his back teeth. His canines and little front teeth will remain. Please, if only you knew this little guy, and the constant pain he’s in, it would break your heart. Dr Miller at Macon Veterinary Hospital will do the extractions. (Macon County, TN) Hunter is the most special cat. Remembering he has severe Gingivitis, and Stomatitis, he never bites anyone. He handles his pain like a champ. He tries so hard to eat but he just can’t let the food touch his gums or he screams in pain. He loves us and just shows total appreciation for helping him feel better.
Sam
Sam is a 12-year-old Long-Haired Domestic cat in Hartford, CT, who needs $3,000 for a CAT scan. (Yes, this rescued cat needs a CAT scan and your help!)

Sam is either smart or lucky! When he was a stray, he certainly picked the right house to start hanging around because inside lived Destiny D., who just so happens to be an avid cat rescuer. The moment she saw Sam, with his gorgeous coat and markings, she was smitten. Destiny had to win him over, so she started feeding him. "No home, living outside in the wintertime," Destiny tells Waggle. "He was so sickly looking that once he warmed up to us, we took him in immediately and started nursing him back to health. We picked the name Sam from the show Supernatural. If you're a fan of Sam Winchester, you'll see Sam has beautiful long hair like him!" Destiny needs help paying for the procedure. "I'm a cat rescuer. I'm constantly at Walmart buying cat food, litter, and supplies. My mom and dad are both disabled, we don't have a big income and are especially struggling now that we have these vet bills." Sam has always had terrible eye swelling. The vet thought perhaps it was due to his dental disease, but even now, after oral surgery, Sam's eye is still so swollen that his forehead is inflamed and puffy too. The medical team at Newtown Veterinary Specialists says the next step is for Sam to have a CAT scan to figure out what's causing the issue. Soon Destiny noticed Sam loves to walk around with his tongue out. "That's his trademark look," she says. "Unfortunately, he has bad dental disease and recently had seven teeth pulled, but he still manages to stick his tongue out at everyone walking by. That tongue sticking out all the time makes anyone in a bad mood immediately happy."
Holly
Holly is a 9-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound in West Orange, NJ, who needs $2,185 for surgery to remove a spindle cell tumor.

Nine years ago, Holly, along with her sister, was adopted at the age of 2 months old and then in October 2018, close to 8 years later, only Holly was returned to the shelter where I volunteer. As a dog who loves being with her humans, she was devastated. She lost weight and was so scared she trembled as she hid in the corner each day. She needed to be put on medication to calm herself down. I don’t know everything about her previous home, but I know enough, and after looking at her snout and face, her current vet asked if she were a bait dog. Holly stayed in the shelter a little over a month. The day after Thanksgiving, we rode up to the shelter to look at dogs up for adoption. The counselor at the shelter introduced us to two dogs who were cat-friendly and it was there we met Holly. We saw her at the shelter as we looked at potential dogs and she was passed by as she had a skin tag about the size of a large raisin hanging from her chest. She's also an older dog (now 9) and needed a dental cleaning. We decided to give Holly a chance because while the information in her chart was heart-breaking, her personality was outstanding. She was perfect for our family and tested not interested in cats. On November 23, 2018, we adopted Holly.

Leo was given to us by a family freind 7 months ago. He was at first shy but quickly developed his energetic bold personality. He's my family's most lovable irritant; zipping, zooming, knocking stuff over but somehow afterward find a way to melt our heart with affection. We love him and really hope we can find support for his surgery.

My kitty Cherie stumbled into my life as a tiny 2-week old kitten whose mother and siblings were killed by a man who owned the house she was born under. A good Samaritan brought her and her brother into my work and I took both of them in and bottle raised them with the help of my sweet good-natured doggy. She has since been an integral part of our family unit. Cherie is loved by each household member in unique ways. I often find her snuggled up to her big 65lbs dog and cleaning his ears which oddly enough he doesn't mind. My 5-year-old daughter has gone through a lot of changes over the last couple of months being out of school due to the virus. Cherie has become my daughter's best friend during this time. Cherie is always looking for snuggles from me. Due to Covid19 I have lost my job and have been without income for 6 weeks. I have tried unsuccessfully to save for her surgery over 2yrs. I was able to save half of the cost but without a job, I'm unable to save more and now she is in dire need. My cat was diagnosed with dental resorption 2 years ago by, Animal Dental Care and Oral Surgery. We tried to keep the infection at bay with the help of her regular vet. These infections are coming more frequently and she is in need of a very expensive surgery to offer her quality and quantity of life. Cherie is like another child to me as I've had her since she was 2 weeks old. Bottle feeding her was so much fun and her ears would move up and down with each swallow. Since then she has become a feisty, snuggly family member with the most melodic purr. She has always been gentle with my daughter and often seeks out snuggles from her when I'm not around. My daughter adores her.
