Bella

Waggle sees a lot of sad stories from pet owners and Bella's broke our hearts. She is suffering each day she doesn't get the stomach surgery she needs. "It is very sad to see her screaming in pain and running to hide," Doriane M., her owner tells Waggle. Bella's medical condition developed suddenly. "She is an indoor cat and she was very happy until last February," Doriane says. "Bella was diagnosed with gingivitis-stomatitis. Her vet, Dr. O'Driscoll, (from the Cat Clinic of Lawrence) recommended an X-ray." The X-ray led to Bella's diagnosis of Gingivostomatitis, which is a debilitating feline dental disease. Inflammation starts around a tooth and then spreads to the tissue around the area. Right now times are quite tough financially for Doriane and she is begging for assistance to help save Bella. "I am a single mother and a graduate student, so I cannot afford extras expenses." Bella is an active member of their family. "We fell in love with her since the first day we saw her in the shelter," Doriane adds. "She is very smart and active. She is a very sociable cat, all of our friends like her. My son always wanted a pet but because we moved many times, it was always difficult to have one. He was very happy when I arrived with her. " Bella has been on pain medication and antibiotics but she needs surgery to help her. The cat means the world to Doriane's son. "I adopted Bella from the humane society when she was three months. I gave her to my son on his birthday," she says. "He always wanted to have a pet and he was very happy when I arrived with her. They loved each other immediately."

Luna was rescued off the street by his family as a kitten in Pennsylvania. They have had him for four years now and he lives a great indoor only life. They brought him with them when they moved to Florida a few years ago. Luna loves sleeping in his box or window ledge. When company comes over l, he is always friendly.

Oreo lives with me, two grown cats and one small kitten we adopted 1 week before he came to us. We received him 3 days ago from my best friend. She said that his foot had gotten stuck in a chair. So I took him in, gave him a bath at that point nothing look broken so I splinted him up put him in the crate and everyone came to visit with him. Well, Oreo has only been with me for a couple of days, and has been injured the whole time. But it hasn't stopped him from trying to get out and play. He and the female kitten I have don't get along to well. I think it's more that she believes that I am her human and nobody else can have me. But she coming around She sees the older female cat trying to give him a bath so she joins in. I am a disabled woman. Yes I have 3 other cats a big dog. I take very good care of them. But it seems that my house has become the house for injured pets. Everyone knows that I won't turn them away. So here I am. Oreo has a very bad fracture on his right leg. Just below the joint. His paw is swollen bigger than the size of a quarter. It is an open fracture. We did not realize this until we gave him 2 more baths and his wound was totally clean. We then we rushed him to Sheets Pet Clinic to have him looked at. He is on Buprenorphine for pain and ZydaClin to fight against infections. This little Oreo has so much light and life in him, he has brought laughter to the house. It just happens to be my house, and I am so thankful that it was me who God chose to take care of this animal. He has the most bountiful soul to share that he is willing to share with anyone who he comes in contact with.
Sadie Marie

We got ger from a friend, she has been with us for 1.5 months, her name is Sadie we listed names we all liked and chose the one we liked best, there are two female cats in the home Zurie and Willow, they are getting acclimated still. We call her Sadie baby because she's our baby and her name is Sadie lol!!! Sadie has free reign over most of the house just not the bathroom. She is still learning the do's and don't of a dog life, she sleeps in her crate at night or sometimes mom let's her sleep in bed with her, she likes hanging out and cuddling when she isn't running through the house full speed or chewing her toys, she eats only dry food now IAMS puppy, SHE LOVES CUDDLING!!! This was an unexpected cost, being able to come up with over 1000 dollars in vet bills has been a struggle to have Sadie back to her happy puppy self and able to run and walk and exercising will be amazing so she can live her happy puppy life. Needing funding for a final follow up visit for Sadies broken leg, I fell with Sadie in my arms bringing her to the back of the house and landed on her leg, we have paid the emergency visit, and two follow up visits with carecredit but have exhausted those funds we were able to make a payment on the card to use for the last follow up which is 100 dollars needing help with the rest of the estimate Sadie is very talkative, her little barks are our favorite, they make us laugh, she also enjoys being snuggled right up on your head whichI'im sure won't last long since she is growing everyday! Her favorite toy is her stuffed crinkle owl, her best friend is her mama where ever I am she wants to be and loves climbing all over me! Again she sure is a talker.

My boy Cody has been with me since he was little pup and we got him from a shelter. Has any dog lover knows they are the most lovable selfless animals on the Earth. Cody has a wonderful life here in Jersey and every day he is with us we make it like it's his first. Every dog deserves a chance to live a longer life. Anyone who's been to my home knows Cody and how as soon as you walk in just wants to give you hugs and kisses all over he is really the most affectionate dog I have ever had. His sister Chelsea and him get along very well. Cody boy is such a lover and he brings so much joy and happiness into our home. Since the first week of April due to Corona I am out of work and not able to cover the full expense of Cody's treatments and medical expenses. It's not the quantity of his life now it's the quality and chemo will help prolong his life. This is very difficult to write and ask for help what Cody was diagnosed with lymphoma the first week in April ( we actually found out on April 6th the same day my mother-in-law passed away). The doctors suggested we start treating him with steroids which we are using and took him to Red Bank hospital where he now started chemo to prolong his life Dr Morges. Cody and I are inseparable. If I leave the room even to go to the bathroom very is right behind me. Cody loves to sleep in the bed next to me as dog's sense human love. Since we moved to New Jersey Cody loves his big backyard and he has his one little small soccer ball that he loves to me to throw and he'll fetch it. Cody is simply a wonderful dog.

We adopted Loki, along with his 2 siblings Valkyrie & Thor, on November 11, 2018 from a nearby rescue when they were exactly 8 weeks old. Loki is loving, snugly, happy and a giant teddy bear. He is so protective of his siblings, they are truly his best friends. He is definitely the Alpha and leader of the pack. You won't find one without the other two.

Cami was a neighborhood stray who came into my life after I lost a cat I had had since he was very young to cancer. She had rejected my earlier overtures but came inside and made herself at home not too long after William died. It was then we found out she had cancer. She is the oldest of my 7 cats. Cami is the leader of the pack. She came in and immediately established herself as head by grooming the others like a mother. She is extremely sweet to all people and loves my other cats but is a bossy toward other cats. She loves the vet's office and everyone at her oncologist's very much loves her. Cami saved me when I lost my William to cancer, a disease that has struck me personally and my family more than a few times. She is a precious cat who was abandoned by previous owners and I want to give her a good life for as long as possible. Cami has mammary gland cancer. It was originally diagnosed in 2016. She had a lateral mastectomy and chemotherapy, both of which she tolerated quite well. She has since had a recurrence with a new lump that was resolved with a lumpectomy. She is eligible to do chemotherapy again, pending her tolerance and its effectiveness. She is a patient of Charlotte Animal Referral and Emergency (CARE). Cami is my cancer buddy. She did very well with her cancer treatment and as she was finishing I got my cancer diagnosis, ironically the same type of cancer (mammary gland or breast). My cancer was caught sooner but as is the case with people my treatment protocol was more rigorous. Nevertheless I remain cancer free today.

My husband rescued our sweet Finley girl 5 years ago from a shelter in Chattanooga, Tn. At the time, Finley was a small puppy at 3 months old in need of a loving home. Their bond was immediate when he found her. You could say it was love at first sight! Finley has now become such a loving and special piece to our family and it’s hard to imagine our soon to be family of 4 without her in it. Finley has always LOVED playing ball, swimming and fetching sticks in the creek, chasing squirrels, ALL the belly rubs and most importantly treats and her Nanas special cornbread! She loves the cool weather but likes to sleep in her cozy bed inside at night time. Her personality is so loving and gentle, she loves interaction with our 3 year old son and tolerates all of the toddler playfulness! My husband is a disabled police officer, recently undergoing 4 shoulder surgeries the last two years. Work hours have been limited due to COVID 19 and we are expecting our second child this fall. We have experienced a lot and would be devasted if we lost our loving Finley. Three months ago, Finley started experiencing lethargy, swollen lymph nodes, vomiting and loss of appetite. Immediately we took her to the vet, bloodwork and lab results returned “inconclusive” suggesting Lymphoma. She has been taking oral steroids on and off since recently receiving a true Lymphoma diagnosis. We have now considered chemo treatments at her Vet, Robertson County Animal Clinic. Finley’s personality, innocence and gentle spirit is what makes her so unique. Her facial expressions at times make you feel as if she’s human! She loves everyone around her and just wants to be loved back and maybe snag a few head or belly rubs along the way;). Her favorite game is playing ball with my husband! The two of them have spent countless hours outside playing ball together!
