Gentle Senior Ryan Needs Help After Being Found Injured

Ryan’s story began on a rooftop, where a kind Good Samaritan spotted him alone and afraid. Unsure how he got there or how long he had been struggling, they reached out to Adopt a Cat Foundation for help. The rescue immediately took this senior boy into their care, making sure he was safe, healthy, and brought up to date on vaccines. From the start, Ryan has shown nothing but sweetness. He’s incredibly docile with other cats—so gentle, in fact, that in the free-roaming shelter environment, he often gets picked on. Ryan never fights back. Instead, he cowers, hides, and tries to avoid conflict. This week, volunteers noticed Ryan approaching them with blood on his cheek. No one knows exactly what happened—whether another cat attacked him or if he has a painful issue inside his mouth, possibly dental-related. What we do know is that Ryan needs veterinary care right away. Ryan is heading to the vet this week for a full exam, diagnostics, and any treatment he needs to help him heal and feel safe again. Rex is a 7 year old Mix-Breed in Coventry , CT, who needs $2,000 for Soft Tissue Surgery, Anesthesia, and Radiograph.

Rex is our 7 year old cat who we received as a kitten at just 8 weeks old. He is an orange and white fluffy handsome fellow living in our family farm house. Rex has a tumor that is excreting fluid on the back of his head/neck area and could be cancer. The vet says it needs to be removed as soon as possible. He also has canine teeth that need to be removed due to a severe infection and possibly 8-10 other teeth:(. Our vet is Fenton River Valley Veterinary Hospital in Tolland, CT. Rex is very lovey and has a close bond with everyone in the family especially my youngest son. He loves to be held, roll around in the sun, and loves playing with our dog. The vet has quoted us between $1500-2500 depending on the amount of teeth that need to be removed. We cannot afford this as we are struggling financially and are in desperate need to save our beloved cat Rex. We are doing everything we can to scrounge up enough to save Rex

Help Bo Heal From Unimaginable Cruelty

Bo came to us after surviving a brutal attack — her head had been pelted with stones while she was held down and beaten. When she arrived at ACF Animal Rescue, her entire head was a mass of open, bleeding wounds. She was trembling, terrified, and in shock. Her eyes darted around in confusion, trying to make sense of where she was. A kind stranger found her and brought her to our gate — and that simple act of compassion may have saved her life. Bo was severely malnourished, dehydrated, and weak. Her wounds were badly infected, and we weren’t sure she would survive those first critical days. Every movement made her flinch; her body was locked in fear and pain. But slowly, Bo’s story is turning toward hope. Today, there’s a gentle wag in her tail. She’s beginning to trust the people caring for her and shows small, beautiful signs of healing — a quiet stretch, a soft sigh, a blink that says, “I’m safe now.” Bo prefers the safety of her cozy cage, curling up on her blanket and stepping out only when she’s ready. On the streets, there’s no shelter, no protection, no kindness. Here, for the first time, she has all three. At ACF, we’re giving Bo the medical care, protection, and patience she needs to heal — both inside and out.

Pancho came into my life at the beginning of quarantine. I had just gotten over having COVID and was looking for a pup. And he needed a home. It was love at first sight! He is the sweetest dog. Such a great big brother to Tulí always looking over her, protecting her. He's the best shop dog too. Always happy to greet clients and make them feel comfortable. Being on their laps at every chance. On October 30th Pancho woke up not himself. He was lethargic and not eating. It was weird. I made an appointment to see his vet. He sent us to the ER at Access Pasadena where they confirmed that Pancho has IMHA. It's an autoimmune disease in dogs in which the body attacks its own red blood cells. He had to stay overnight for 4 nights needing a blood transfusion before being allowed to go home. Pancho is the most social butterfly. Always making friends, furry and human alike, and being a silly goofball. He loves being the center of attention and a good squeaky ball. His happy place is a crowded dog park or Rosie's dog beach. He loves chasing squirrels in the backyard with Tulí, his little kitty sister and watching over the neighborhood from his window perch. Usually, next to Tulí. This has been an unexpected, sudden major expense. I wasn't prepared for the cost of the extended hospitalization and everything that comes along with that. Let alone what it's going to cost to bring him back to health. Please, I'm scared and overwhelmed and need your help.

Lucky came into my life when I was consumed by grief. Little did I know, he would soon heal me in ways I could not imagine. I came across a sweet advertisement for a kitten who was very loving and cuddly. His pictures were mostly of him intertwined with his twin brother bear. Nose to nose. I immediately put in an application for him without hesitations. Just instinct. Lucky has presented with constipation since he was 2 years old. After his first hospitalization revealing that he had no symptoms that could explain why he was unable to use the bathroom but after the switch to prescription fiber filled food and the occasional laxative, he would manage his symptoms. During October of 2025, Lucky started showing signs of constipation. Lucky loves to love. Although anxious to strangers, to his favorite beings, he is always there loving you. Lucky is one of the rarest kinds of cats that you come across that can make you feel so special and important. Just by how he looks at you with big yellow eyes that are full of admiration and affection. He is not just a cat but a healer. To his bonded brother, he is everything. With my grandmother needing financial help with medication after my father’s passing, I jumped right in as anyone would. As the eldest sister, providing help to my grandmother and sister. My younger sister is a single mother. Now I am needing to help my sweet cat.

Kari joined our family after the passing of our previous tabby, Rini. My husband and I walked into Petco, saw that there was a new tabby, and we instantly knew we needed her to heal She has 7 siblings. Lately, she has had bloody urine and has been bullied by them for smelling sick. She has a chronic condition regarding her bladder that we haven't been able to keep up on the meds, unfortunately. The irony surrounding Kari's medical situation is that she is always there for my anxiety attacks, to both prevent and overcome them, but she also has anxiety of her own that we manage. She also has a chronic thickening of her bladder walls, which makes her have UTIs, bladder infections, and other problems. We want to get her into Clearfield Veterinary Clinic ASAP since she's now peeing blood. Kari is my ESA. She's always by my side so I put a cat bed on my desk to make her comfy and she always has to sleep between my legs at night. She MUST be in the bathroom with you and will beg for water fresh from the faucet, but only if it touches your hands, too. If you just turn it on, she won't touch it. Kari must be in EVERYTHING you do. She's the center of attention and the class clown! My husband and I are on Disability and SNAP. With the government shut down we struggled to have money to eat since SNAP wasn't paid out. We could barely afford food with the other bills and had to let some bills go unpaid to be able to eat and are trying to catch up on them.

Hank is an Australian labradoodle that came into my life almost 13 years ago as my second service dog. After a battle with cancer he was retired at 10 years old. He now lives a quiet life resting at home with his furry brothers and sisters. He is my entire world. Hank has had a relatively healthy life up until he was just shy of 10 when he has a large cancerous mass removed on his back and a small tumor removed on his foot that was also removed. But within the last few years he has been diagnosed with osteoarthritis from his years of working, severe reflux and the beginning stages of a collapsed trachea. He is currently a patient at Jarrettsville Vet. Hank and I have an incredible bond being as he was and will always be my service dog and we are glued at the hip. He absolutely loves his large stuffies that he lugs around everywhere. He loves going in the car to go get pup cups. He was also featured in the newspaper for giving me my sedation medication for one of my surgeries. I am fully disabled and unable to work so the financial responsibility falls onto my parents which is sometimes very difficult. My mom is currently in between jobs so our income has decreased. Hank will never be my young guy again but I just want to make him comfortable.

Sweet Dora’s story began outside a yoga studio in West Palm Beach, where she was spotted by a kind patron who couldn’t ignore the gentle senior cat lingering nearby. No one knows how long Dora had been living on the streets or what she endured—but it was clear she once belonged to someone. She’s friendly, affectionate, and loves people, the kind of cat who’s used to curling up on a couch, not searching for scraps on the sidewalk. When Dora came into our care, we immediately took her to our veterinarian for a full senior exam and blood panel. Because she’s older, we wanted to make sure nothing serious was hiding beneath her calm demeanor. Dora also showed signs of a urinary issue, which our vet determined was due to inflammation and stress—likely from being lost and scared for so long. She’s now receiving treatment, love, and comfort from our volunteers while we await her lab results. Once we know more, we’ll make sure Dora gets every bit of care she needs to live out her golden years in peace and safety. Your support will help cover Dora’s vet exam, lab work, treatment for her urinary issue, and follow-up care as we learn more about her health. Lucky Deserves a Second Chance After Unthinkable Cruelty

Lucky’s life on the streets of Miami was already difficult—but then tragedy struck. When a trapper found him for TNVR, they were horrified to see the skin on his forehead peeling away from what appears to be an acid burn. Whether this was accidental or deliberate, we may never know. What we do know is that Lucky has suffered far too much. Pumpkin’s Rescue Club immediately stepped in to give Lucky the chance he deserves. Right now, he is being held at the vet for intensive, around-the-clock care to clean the wound, manage his pain, and prevent infection. Once he’s stable enough, he will move to a foster home where he can continue his recovery in a calmer environment. At the moment, Lucky is fractious and scared. But it’s important to remember—he’s also in tremendous pain, confined, and undergoing treatment. With time, healing, and compassion, we believe he’ll show us who he truly is under the fear and trauma. Pumpkin’s Rescue Club is a very small rescue, and Lucky’s medical bills are already adding up. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference in covering the cost of his vet care, medications, and recovery support. ** Update 10/11/25** Lucky continues to show incredible resilience as he heals from the acid burns on his head. Thanks to his dedicated foster family, he’s receiving his daily medications and wound care — no small task for a cat who’s still learning to trust people. His wound is healing beautifully and scabbing over just as the vet hoped. The vet says that as long as it continues to heal like this, Lucky won’t need to return for more check-ups, sparing him the stress of those trips back and forth. Every day, Lucky grows a little stronger and a little braver. His recovery is a testament to love, patience, and community support. Thank you to everyone who’s been cheering Lucky on — your kindness continues to make his healing possible. Update 10/21/25 We have such encouraging news to share—Lucky is healing beautifully! His once red and raw wounds have now scabbed over, and we’re even seeing little patches of fur starting to grow back. It’s amazing what time, care, and compassion can do. While Lucky is still understandably nervous around people, he’s tolerated all of his treatments like a true fighter, as if he knows we’re trying to help him. Each day he grows a little stronger, and we’re so proud of the progress he’s made. He only needs one final vet check to make sure everything is fully healed.
