Our Shelter’s Full, Our Funds Are Low — These 15 Kittens Need Help With Vet Care

Adopt A Cat Foundation is a small but dedicated rescue that’s been working tirelessly through an especially overwhelming kitten season this year. The shelter has taken in more kittens than usual — filling every available foster home in their network to give these little ones a safe start. Recently, 15 kittens in their care were ready for their full vetting — all at once. In one week, the rescue covered the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, vaccines, combo testing, and microchips for each of them. It was a major expense, but an essential step to make sure these kittens are healthy, adoptable, and most importantly, no longer able to contribute to the overpopulation crisis that floods shelters every year. Now, these 15 kittens are ready to find loving homes — responsibly vetted and off to a fresh start. But the shelter needs help recouping the cost of this large, unexpected vet day so they can continue saying “yes” to the next round of kittens who need them.

I didn’t plan on getting a cat. He was just the last kitten in the adoption section at pet smart. But for some reason I couldn’t forget him, so I circled back & asked to pet him. They told me because of COVID I had to apply to adopt him, but wasn’t required to take him home. They got ahold of me so fast. I went to meet him a few days later, & couldn’t part with him. He is my only family, & bff. Walter has been a healthy guy the whole time I’ve had him, until now. I’ll explain how this all happened.. 1st concern sneeze. 2nd concern being the hair thinning around his ear, seems to itch them a lot more day by day. No discharge, no smell. 3rd concern is not being food motivated anymore, still eating little though. 4th concern is seeming lethargic now. Walter melon man is literally the only family I have. He keeps me going. My person. My favorite face to see. I am crying typing this because my heart is shattered about this. He deserves the world. He cuddles me. He headbutts my tears. He got me through health issues, break up, moved, job losses, etc. I am not exaggerating when I say he’s my family. He’s who I spend every holiday with. I have the vet exam fee, but I just do not have the money for testing or any needed medication, & insurance has a two week waiting period plus you pay up front. I had knee surgery Monday, so I haven’t been working due to my injury now recovery so I just don’t have it all.

Left in a Basket, Longing for Love—Help Popeye Heal From Painful Mouth Infection

Popeye once had a home. But when he developed a painful mouth infection, his family abandoned him. They left him in a pink basket, too afraid to move or even meow. He arrived at ACF Animal Rescue tense with fear, and his eyes scanning the room as if searching for the people who left him behind. He didn’t cry. He didn’t hiss. He just sat quietly, confused, hurting, and heartbroken. The infection in his mouth made eating painful, and the heartbreak of abandonment was written all over his face. But even in his silence, Popeye showed us he wanted to trust again. Now, he’s receiving treatment for his infection, and slowly, Popeye is starting to feel safe. He’s beginning to lean into gentle pets, to rest without fear, and to believe that not all humans will give up on him. But he still has a long way to go. He needs ongoing medical care, soft food, and time to fully heal both physically and emotionally. With your help, we can give Popeye the comfort he’s been denied. During a recent TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) event, two tiny surprises appeared. Jenny and Jasmine, just 3 months old greeted rescuers with purrs and curiosity. It was clear they weren’t meant to live life on the streets. Cathy’s Cats Corporation, a small but mighty local rescue, couldn’t turn away from these sweet faces. They brought Jenny and Jasmine into foster care with hopes of finding them loving, permanent homes. But before these kittens can start their new lives, they need essential vet care: spay surgeries, vaccinations, combo testing, and microchips. As a volunteer-run rescue, Cathy’s Cats operates on a tight budget, dedicating most resources to TNVR to reduce the community’s stray cat population. Every adoption-ready kitten like Jenny and Jasmine is a chance to break the cycle—but only if they can receive the medical care they need. When Samosa was rescued from the streets by the Stray Animal Foundation of India, he was quietly suffering. His ear was painfully swollen from an aural hematoma—an internal blood blister caused by repeated trauma or infection, common in street dogs who are left untreated for even the simplest of injuries. Samosa’s condition needs urgent attention. He requires diagnostics to assess the full extent of his condition, surgery to drain and repair his ear, and neutering to ensure his future is safer and healthier. Without this care, his ear could become permanently damaged or lead to chronic pain and infection. Despite everything he’s been through, Samosa is gentle, trusting, and full of heart. He wags his tail at every kind hand, every soft word. He knows he’s finally safe—but now he needs help to heal. Please help us turn Samosa’s rescue into a true recovery. Kit is my special girl. I found her sheltering in an engine of a car not driven in years. She looked like she was the runt of the litter and that’s why she must have been left by herself. I took her in and took her to the vet. On that first visit, she was diagnosed with Feline chronic gingivostomatitis (FCGS) and the recommendation for her being just a kitten is to do a full mouth extraction. Right now, the problem she is need of help for is getting her in to the Pennsauken Animal Hospital as quickly as possible. Suddenly she is struggling to urinate, tries multiple, multiple times and has now is trying outside of her litter box. For such an easily treatable condition I cannot afford to get het seen.. Kit is sassy. She’ll walk in front of you, stop and stretch while you’re trying to get her food for her. She taunts my senior dog by rubbing all over her, while my senior dog looks at me like, “really?” Kit loves watching the birds outside and on tv. She jumps into her bed and tries to curl and roll over despite it being round and smaller than she thinks. I have to keep all boxes for her. I’m unemployed, not by choice. I am “overqualified.” If you know, you know. If you’re not, go ask an older person. This is the first time in my life I haven’t been able to just walk in with no concern of bill. I cannot lose her to a simple condition that’s expensive to treat

Rosie’s Road to Recovery – Healing Inside and Out

Rosie wandered alone onto a stranger’s property—emaciated, exhausted, and clinging to life. The homeowner, heartbroken at her condition, did the right thing and contacted Animal Control. It was immediately clear Rosie needed more than just a shelter—she needed urgent medical care and compassion. That’s when Animalluvr’s Dream Rescue stepped in without hesitation. When Rosie arrived, her condition stunned even the most seasoned rescuers. She was skin and bones, her frail body barely able to support her. She was covered in dried mud, crawling with ticks and fleas, and her face—oh, her sweet face—was ravaged with necrotic, infected wounds so severe that her bone was exposed. We may never know what happened to Rosie, or how long she suffered. But we do know this: Rosie wants to live. She was rushed to the emergency vet, where they immediately started pain management, antibiotics, and IV fluids to stabilize her. She’s now under constant care, finally receiving the love, medical treatment, and comfort she’s been denied for so long. Found With a Gaping Wound: Shadow Needs Your Help

Shadow was found lying helpless on his side, his body fighting to survive with a wound so deep and infected that it looked like his bone might be exposed. The person who found him stayed by his side, refusing to leave him alone in his pain while they waited for help. Shadow’s injury wasn’t new—he’d been carrying that agony for days, maybe weeks. But when rescuers arrived, everything changed. Thanks to the quick action of compassionate people and a rescue network that refused to give up on him, Shadow was rushed to the vet for emergency care. He underwent surgery to clean and close the wound, with a drain placed to help it heal. After which, one of RBARI’s dedicated volunteers brought him home to begin recovering in a quiet, loving space where he finally felt safe. Despite his pain and the nightmares he endured, Shadow is heartwrenchingly friendly. It’s so clear: he desperately wants to be loved. How he ended up in this condition, we’ll never know. Update 7/26/25 Shadow's wound is looking so much better, and he’s soaking up all the love—rolling over for belly rubs and loving every pet. Once his wound is fully healed, he’ll undergo a dental procedure to remove a few damaged teeth before he’s ready for adoption.

Mr. Grumpy Pants got his name when one day my sister and I went outside and looked in our flower bed to be greeted by grumpiest little month old kitten I've ever seen. By our delight, we were able to warm up to him after some time and able to hold him. I've been feeding and caring for him as an outdoor kitty ever since. Suddenly, one day, I walked outside to feed Mr. Grumpy Pants to find his eye was bleeding. I had rushed him to the vet at this time. This was when I was informed he had an ruptured eyeball. He received some antibiotics and pain reliever and he was scheduled for eye removal surgery on July 23rd at All About Animals Flint. Mr. Grumpy Pants does not live up to his name. He is the sweetest little boy you will ever meet. Whenever you go to pet him, he will drop and roll to his back to get some belly rubs. Now that I have brought him inside due to his eye, whenever I leave the room, he will chase me wherever I go and will meow if he loses me. His favorite toy is the blanket strings hanging off the couch. I am a caregiver to several other cats as is while I am also still paying off my student loans and trying to move out out on my own, this surgery can easily take up my entire paycheck.
