Van Gogh
From Hurt to Hope: Painting a New Life for Van Gogh

Van Gogh was found near a bridge, wounded, alone, and in debilitating pain. The kind stranger who stopped to help him, refused to leave him behind and made sure he got the urgent care he needed. When North Star Rescue stepped up to take him in, they named him Van Gogh in honor of the man, an artist, who saw value in him when no one else did. At the vet, Van Gogh was in rough shape—bite wounds, high fever, infection, and extreme pain in his front leg. X-rays revealed no fractures, but his skin was rubbed raw, and his body was covered in old scars. The vet heartbreakingly suspected he had been used as a bait dog. He started antibiotics, pain meds, and wound flushes to begin the slow process of recovery. Despite everything, Van Gogh is sweet and expressive. He is anxious, but still seeks affection, and even cracked a smile on the way to his follow-up. He is now in a loving foster home, where his wounds are being flushed daily and his pain managed with meds. He has also started treatment for heartworm, but he has come a long way already. North Star Rescue stepped up when no one else would, but they can’t do it alone. Van Gogh’s vet bills are high, and continued support is needed to get him across the finish line. Jordan was found collapsed on the streets of Paterson—thin, weak, and fighting to breathe. No one knows how long he had been out there. But judging by his condition, it was too long. When Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge rescued him, he could barely lift his head. He was dangerously dehydrated and battling a severe upper respiratory infection. Every breath sounded like a struggle. They weren’t sure he’d make it. But they couldn’t give up on him—and neither can we. He was rushed to Oradell Animal Hospital, where he began receiving urgent, around-the-clock care. And slowly… he started to fight his way back. Even in the worst of it, Jordan was still gentle. Still trying to nuzzle his way into someone’s heart. He’s the kind of cat who just wants to be loved—and who never should’ve been left to suffer like this. Jordan is still recovering. He’s stable now and eating again, but his journey isn’t over. And truthfully? Rescues like Ramapo-Bergen are drowning in emergency cases just like his. Your donation today helps cover Jordan’s treatment and gives him the second chance he deserves. Help Give Steel the Strength to Recover

Steel is one of several kittens growing up in a warm and loving foster home through Kitty Kisses Rescue. For weeks, he had been playful and curious, just like his siblings, until he suddenly fell ill. Steel suddenly became extremely lethargic and developed severe diarrhea. His foster knew something was wrong and rushed him to the emergency vet. Thanks to the fast response from Kitty Kisses Rescue and the vet, Steel was able to receive care right away. At the emergency hospital, he was given fluids, medication, and close monitoring to stabilize him. While it was a scary and uncertain moment, the rescue team chose to give Steel every chance to pull through. Now, Steel is on the mend. He is slowly gaining strength and has started to put on weight. While he is still not back to full energy, each day brings small improvements. He continues to receive supportive care to help his body fully recover, and everybody is cheering him on! Kitty Kisses Rescue needs help covering the cost of Steel’s emergency treatment. Over the past few days, D&A Animal Rescue has faced a whirlwind of emotion and urgency, taking in several dogs in dire need of help. Among them is one little soul whose story has touched the entire team more deeply than words can express. Late one night, the D&A Team was driving home when their headlights illuminated a heartbreaking sight—a frightened dog frozen in the middle of a busy road. Cars raced past her, missing her by inches, as she stood trembling and unsure where to turn. Without hesitation, the team pulled over, carefully approached her, and after several minutes filled with patience and gentle reassurance, they were able to scoop her up and bring her to safety. That moment changed everything. They named her Vicky - a survivor that instantly captured their hearts. Vicky is now safe, but her journey is far from over. She arrived at the rescue covered in fleas, with a large, unexplained scar along her side. It's also unclear whether she’s pregnant or has recently given birth. Her eyes tell a story of hardship, yet she shows a spirit full of quiet strength. Despite the trauma she’s endured, Vicky has already begun to trust—and she is ready to heal. Update 5/25/25: Today has been an incredibly challenging day for D&A Animal Rescue and their sweet girl, Vicky. The organization had taken Vicky to the vet for her scheduled spay surgery, hoping it would be the first step toward a healthier future for her. However, during the procedure, the veterinarian discovered a mass on her leg that needs to be removed. This unforeseen issue has added significant unexpected costs to Vicky’s medical care. Vicky has clearly had a difficult past. The scars on her leg and the marks on her face suggest she may have been hit by a car. Despite these physical reminders of her tough start in life, Vicky’s spirit remains strong and unbroken. Unfortunately, she also tested positive for heartworms and hookworms, which makes her treatment even more urgent. The rescue initially budgeted $375 for Vicky's spay, but with the additional costs of the leg surgery and the heartworm treatment, her bill has skyrocketed to $859—and this doesn’t even include the heartworm injection, which is expected to cost around $575. The team at D&A Animal Rescue is doing everything possible to provide the care she needs, but these unforeseen medical expenses have placed a heavy burden on their budget. Despite these challenges, the organization remains committed to helping Vicky heal. She is a sweet, loving dog who deserves a future filled with joy and care. Any support or kind thoughts would be greatly appreciated as Vicky continues her journey to recovery. Her road ahead may be tough, but with the help of compassionate supporters, she will have the chance at a healthier and happier life.

Rosie’s Journey: A Second Chance After 6 Days of Survival

Rosie was supposed to be traveling up north to a new foster home, a new chance at life. But something went terribly wrong. In a moment of sheer terror, she escaped, and for six agonizing days, she was lost in the wild, harsh woods. Imagine the fear she must have felt. Those woods are filled with coyotes, wild animals, and the overwhelming loneliness of being lost. D&A traveled miles and miles to find their baby, and after six long, heartbreaking days, they finally managed to trap her. She’s home now, but the path to regain her trust and help her heal—physically and emotionally—has just begun. When D&A Animal Rescue brought her back to Texas, the sight of her was heartbreaking. Rosie was anemic, dehydrated, and covered in ticks. But even worse, her spirit was broken. Every sound, every movement—she cowers in fear. She’s terrified, and it’s clear that this journey has left deep emotional scars. It’s going to take time, patience, and a lot of love to help her heal. The road ahead won’t be easy, but with your support, Rosie will learn to feel safe again. Together, we can give Rosie the life she deserves—a life full of love, security, and the joy that comes with being surrounded by those who love her. Update 5/11/25: Rosie is recovering well physically — her strength is returning, and her body is healing more each day. Emotionally, however, Rosie still has a long road ahead. She remains very skittish in unfamiliar environments and continues to struggle with fear and uncertainty. After consulting with their trusted dog trainer, D&A Animal Rescue believes Rosie needs more time to heal before adoption can be considered. Right now, the priority is giving Rosie a stable, calm environment where she can build confidence and learn that the world is a safe place. Adoption is not currently an option, but with continued care and patience, D&A is hopeful for her progress. Diesel
Diesel’s Wounds Run Deep - Help Give Diesel the Care He Deserves

We were tagged in town’s Facebook page asking for helping with an injured stray cat that was unable to put any weight on one of his front legs.:( It took us a few weeks to be able to trap him, but as soon as we did, we knew that he needed immediate vet care -his leg was actively bleeding. Diesel went to our vet (Wallingford Vet) the same day he was trapped. As Diesel’s personality is unknown and his injuries appear to be painful, he was sedated for his exam. He had numerous bite wounds on his right leg and top of his head. The wounds were clipped and cleaned and he received an antibiotic injection. He also had bloodwork, vaccines, and xrays done. We don’t know know much about Diesel’s life before he came to us, but clearly he has been let down by people:( He was living outside and injured for at least a month and most have been in so much pain, but he survived and made it to us so that we can get him healthy and ready for adoption. Our rescue is very small and we do not receive large grants and rely solely on donations from our followers and supporters. Diesel’s medical expenses will be high. His first vet exam included a sedated exam, xrays w/radiologist consult, blood work, and cleaning his wounds. Update 4/21/25: Diesel’s wounds are slowly but steadily healing. The road to recovery hasn’t been easy, but each day brings signs of progress and resilience. He’s still in quarantine, where his healing is closely monitored and he’s kept safe and comfortable. Diesel remains cautious around people — his past has clearly left its mark — but he’s being given all the time, space, and gentle care he needs to begin building trust again. Update 5/30/25: Diesel is continuing to do well! His wounds are healing nicely, and while there's still some recovery ahead, he's made incredible progress. The amazing team at Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue is working tirelessly to help him build trust and feel safe around people. Every day, he's becoming a little more social and a lot more hopeful!

Adam is a 2 year old American Staffordshire Terrier in Krum, TX, who needs $2,000 for Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy Surgery.

We got Adam a little over 2 years ago. We rescued him out of a horrible situation from a bad environment. We found him on craigslist. Right now, Adam lives in an awesome small town called Krum in Texas. He has a huge backyard and 3 other dog friends to run and play with. He loves his chew toys and wrestling with his companions in their backyard. Adam has a torn ligament in his back right knee. We have gotten x-rays taken and we have gotten 2 different opinions. Each vet gave the same diagnosis. Adam receives routine veterinarian care at Krum Veterinarian Hospital. Adam is in pain consistently without getting this operation done. However, he still maintains a good spirit...it is just the type of dog he is. Adam isn’t just a dog—he’s a best friend, a source of unconditional love, and the light of our lives. With his soulful eyes and tail that never stops wagging, Adam has a way of making everyone feel like the most special person in the world. Adam has never been aggressive he is the complete opposite. He cozies up to our 8-month-old daughter and makes her laugh. We are so grateful for Adam. We just were not expecting this. Me and my wife both work in ministry. we are exactly where Christ has called us to be, but we cannot afford it financially. However, after this happened, we purchased pet insurance to cover any unexpected future injuries.

On June 11th 2025 my cat Smokey gave birth to 5 healthy baby kittens, and are taken care of very well and my other cat mj helps Smokey with her babies One of the baby kittens have an eye infection and so I called the wil-o-paw animal hospital in Coloma Michigan and they said I need to bring in my baby kitten to seek attention This kitten is special to me because I have helped birth these kittens and I grew an attachment to them and I’m scared of something happening to him he just starting to walk and they are still nursing I have lost my job and I can’t afford to take him to the vet but it will make me very happy if I could get just any kind of support towards trying to get my kitten the help he needs and he is healthy again

Kara’s Second Chance

Kara was found abandoned on the ACF Animal Rescue property. She was in heartbreaking condition—underweight, weak, and suffering from a terrible burn wound across her tail and rear. No one knows exactly what happened to her, but the pain she had endured was clear. Even in her fragile state, she tried to seek out comfort, as if she knew someone might still show her kindness. ACF Animal Rescue took her in without hesitation, determined to give her the safety and care she so desperately needed. Her wound was severe and required immediate medical attention. The team got to work treating her burns, managing her pain, and beginning the slow process of helping her body heal. Despite everything, Kara never lost her gentle spirit. She welcomed soft voices, leaned into gentle touches, and seemed to draw strength from the simple presence of people who cared. Now safe in rescue, Kara is making steady progress. Her wound is healing bit by bit, and she’s gaining weight and energy every day. What once was a frail, silent cat now has moments of playfulness and purring. She still has a ways to go needing continued wound care, nutritional support, and time to rebuild her strength, but she’s well on her way, surrounded by love. ACF Animal Rescue is committed to seeing Kara through her recovery, but they need help covering her medical bills.
