Gunner

Gunner was our second rescue dog. We came across his story from a rescue non-profit called Circle 2 Rescue. He was born in Texas and his previous owners had swung him around by his front paws when he was 4 months old, breaking his right foot. We knew right away that we wanted this dog to be apart of our family and give him the best life possible. We had started to notice that Gunner was limping and not putting much weight on his right leg. He was due for his shots, so my husband took him to the vet and asked about the limp. The vet checked it out and determined it was a ruptured CCL (ACL). We went to get a second opinion and this vet found slight CCL tears in both of his knees. Gunner loves his dog sister, Nala. They are inseparable. Gunner has such a special personality. He is very protective. What makes Gunner truly special is his loyalty. He follows us from room to room, always wanting to be close, as if he's checking in on everyone. He’s not just a pet—he’s family. His loving nature and protective instincts make him one of a kind. We have been trying to start a family for 4 years and were diagnosed with unexplained infertility, so we started the IVF process in June 2024 and finally got the exciting news in January of 2025 that we were expecting. It would mean so much to us to get some help with this

For at least four years, Strudel survived the harsh realities of outdoor life as part of a feral cat colony. She weathered bitter winters, fought for food, and lived with no guarantee of safety. When Operation Liberation trapped her for spay surgery, the plan was simple: spay and return. But Strudel had other plans. To everyone’s surprise, this quiet, resilient girl turned out to be friendly — not just tolerant, but affectionate. It became clear she wasn’t just surviving outside — she had been waiting for a second chance. Operation Liberation made the easy decision to bring her into foster care, where she quickly began to thrive. Recently, Strudel began to limp, and the condition worsened throughout the day. Concerned for her well-being, Operation Liberation rushed her to the emergency vet. After a thorough exam, the veterinary team diagnosed a soft tissue injury. She was sent home with pain medication and anti-inflammatories, and strict instructions for rest and monitoring. Strudel’s prognosis is good, but her care has already come at a cost and as a volunteer-run rescue, Operation Liberation relies entirely on community support to cover emergency expenses. On Sunday evening I was on my way home from the grocery store and found this little guy at a bus stop in a box (the picture where you can only see his eyes through the slit) My husband and I are both disabled (He is a Veteran of the Marine Corps) We know nothing about this little guy other than what the Vet told us today. He's like 8 weeks old, possibly shepherd and shitzu. Once we got him to the Vet they said he looks relatively ok, however he needs to be checked for Parvo and a skin scraping to check for Scabies. The VCA in Houston did give him an exam for free but we cannot afford the cost of the procedures, as we just paid for end of life services for my husband's Service dog. He's just a baby who was left on the road right before a storm, I'm so grateful I found him and could get him to a Vet to be checked out atleast, He has similar markings to our dog who recently passed and has such a personality (he has grumpy old man vibes sometimes which is too cute). We would love to be able to keep him and name him but we need medical help for him. As two disabled persons, while we fight to get my husband's service connected disability, it wrecked both of us but especially him when his dog of 8+ years passed the day before my birthday (January). When I found this puppy I felt like it was a sign, we'd love to keep him.

Cici is a 9 year old German Shepherd Dog in Antelope, CA, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Removal of Uterus - Pyometra.

Cici has been with my wife and I for almost 10 years now. She has been a great friend and protector for our kids and now our grandkids. She is smart and loving and enjoys all the attention she gets. Cici has just been diognosed with pyonetra. She needs a surgery to remove her infected uterus before it bursts. Due to the nature of the emergency and and the unavailability of vets in our area the emergency surgery is quoted at $6300. Like many families we live paycheck to paycheck and our credit is maxed out. I hate to ask for financial help but we would be heartbroken to lose Cici. Cici is always with us. She goes where we go and is always happy spend time with young children. She is in her own enjoyable world when we go on walks and gets so much attention from onlookers snd other dogs. She is an excellent watch dog and keeps our family safe. She has even become friends with our cats. Last year she was heartbroken when her best frien a pitty named Macy passed away. at $6300. Like many families we live paycheck to paycheck and our credit is maxed out. I hate to ask for financial help but we would be heartbroken to lose Cici. Help Miss Spicy – The Senior Island Survivor with a Fiery Spirit

Rescue Kitties of Hawaii works passionately on Moloka'i island every single day, rescuing cats and kittens in dire need of help and urgent medical care. Stray cats who are sick, injured, abused, poisoned, used as live bait in dog fighting, etc. rely on RKH as their only source of care, as there are absolutely no shelters on the island. Being on a small island with limited resources, the rescue's funds are continuously depleted, and the rescue cannot keep up with the overwhelming demand to save all the Hawaiian kitties. This is why their TNRM program- Trap, Neuter, Return and Manage, is vital to help manage the ongoing overpopulation on the island. This is the most humane way to control a stray cat population, letting cats that cannot adapt to indoor/ family life live their best life. Those that can adapt to indoor life, are adopted by loving families. As many of you know, RKH is dedicated to helping several stray kitties get the urgent medical that they need in order to have a fighting chance. Cats like Boris, Annie, and Miss Spicy. Miss Spicy was found as a senior stray on the island of Moloka’i. She was in critical condition- skin and bones, dehydrated, and unable to eat or drink due to severe mouth pain. Someone had left her on a doorstep in hopes she’d be found, and thankfully, she was brought to Rescue Kitties of Hawai’i just in time. She was suffering from painful mouth ulcers, chronic infection, and layers of grime from surviving alone without shelter or care. With gentle hands (and thick gloves—she lives up to her name!), the team at Rescue Kitties of Hawai’i began the long journey of nursing her back to health. Miss Spicy has received the help from a whole village of rescuers rallying behind her and has visited three different islands. Moloka'i where her journey began and where RKH is, Kona for specialized vet care, and Oahu to receive life saving dental surgery and recover. Rescue Kitties of Hawai'i is so thankful for each person that has played a role getting her to where she is today. Fierce and feisty, Miss Spicy has been fighting every step of the way, and slowly, we’re seeing her fight her way back. She’s now able to eat soft food with less pain, a small miracle that brings her closer to recovery with every bite. She’s been receiving daily pain relief, antibiotics, and other medications tailored to her fragile condition. Her regular medicated baths are also helping her regain a healthy coat. We know Miss Spicy has more life to live—and more sass to give. She will need continued medication, dental surgery, and ongoing care to fully heal and live out her golden years pain-free. Stray Puppy Rescued from Heartbreaking Abuse

Tatum’s story starts out as heartbreaking, but fortunately, with your help, it won't end that way. This sweet puppy was found with his ears and tail cruelly cut off from his body. When his abusers realized he was a stray, they abandoned him, leaving him to suffer alone and take no responsibility for what they did. When Tatum was rescued by ACF Animal Rescue, he was trembling, terrified, and in excruciating pain. His ears were severely infected, causing further distress to his already fragile state. He is now receiving antibiotics, proper pain medications, and compassionate care to heal his physical wounds and emotional scars. Tatum’s journey to recovery will require ongoing medical attention and lots of love to help him rebuild trust in humans. Despite all he’s been through, Tatum remains a sweet loving puppy. No animal should ever endure such cruelty, and Tatum’s story reminds us why we must continue fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves. The antibiotics and pain medications are working and his spirit has begun to lift. It is as though as the pain leaves, it creates room for happiness and puppy playfulness.

Cantaloupe’s life was filled with fear. In what should have been the safety of her home, she suffered not just once, but twice at the jaws of a dog who shared her space, leaving her with horrible injuries and pain. The most recent attack was nearly fatal, and Cantaloupe’s owners decided to surrender her to the shelter, unable to provide her with care. That’s when Spicy Whiskers Cat Rescue stepped in, refusing to let Cantaloupe’s story end in tragedy. After a thorough veterinary assessment, her caretakers discovered the full extent of her suffering. She has two completely fractured bones in one leg, shards of bone littering the area. She also has a severely dislocated rear hip and a floating patella in another leg, likely from previous attacks. She requires surgery to repair her broken front leg and to address the older injuries that have gone untreated for too long. Without this critical care, she might never know a life without pain. Cantaloupe has endured unimaginable pain for so long, yet she continues to show a quiet resilience. Spicy Whiskers Cat Rescue is determined to give Cantaloupe the second chance she deserves, but can’t do it alone. Everyone loves her though, she is the sweetest kitty and deserves every chance we can give her for a happy life.

Clover is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Red Lodge, MT, who needs $1,092 for Surgery After Being Hit by a Car.

When Clover was found, she was lying on the side of the street, clinging to life. The small cat looked as if she’d been hit by a car, and the girl who found her rushed her to a local vet for medical care. Beartooth Humane Alliance (BHA) searched for an owner, and no one came forward to claim her. Clover’s medical situation was dire. Her left eye was bulging, and her jaw was hanging open. The veterinarian at Grizzly Peak Animal Hospital removed her eye, which had ruptured, and wired her jaw to allow it to heal properly. Thankfully she had no other broken bones or injuries. Clover is being fostered by the girl who found her. She has a strong will to live, and she is expected to make a full recovery. Despite everything she’s been through, Clover is affectionate, trusting, and loves the attention she’s getting in her foster home. Her sweet and gentle personality shines through her pain. After a discount from Grizzly Peak Animal Hospital, the cost of Clover’s care is $1,092. BHA maintains a modest fund for extraordinary medical care. However, Clover’s expenses far exceed what remains in that fund. Her future is bright and she deserves a loving home.

Operation Liberation received a heart-wrenching request from one of their vet contacts who reached out to them for urgent help. Two sweet, friendly kittens, just under two months old, were brought into the clinic by a client who wanted to euthanize them. The reason? Each kitten had an eye on the brink of rupturing, likely due to untreated infections. This could have been their end, but Operation Liberation couldn’t stand by and let it happen. These precious babies deserve so much more. They immediately stepped in to offer them a chance—a chance for healing, happiness, and a full life ahead. Despite their current condition, these kittens have the kindest souls and are full of life. They’ll each need one eye removed (a procedure called enucleation), we’re confident they will thrive. Kittens recover quickly from this surgery, and after a little time to heal, they’ll be ready for a bright future. At the same time, they will be spayed, ensuring their health and preventing future struggles. Every donation helps us move one step closer to giving them a happy life full of love, adventure, and endless cuddles. Your kindness will give Sparrow and Robin the opportunity to live the life they’ve always deserved. Update 3/20/25: Both of these sweet kittens recently underwent their surgeries to remove one eye and to be spayed. We’re thrilled to report that the surgeries went smoothly, and their recoveries are progressing beautifully! Despite the challenges they’ve faced, Sparrow and Robin have shown nothing but courage and resilience, and they’re doing so well in their healing journey. But that’s not all—these precious kittens even had the chance to meet with a potential adopter! The meeting went wonderfully, and they are now eagerly waiting to see if they’ve found their forever home.
