Help Revive Reba, a Dog Returned to Shelter in Horrific Condition

Just a few months ago, Reba left the Fort Worth Animal shelter as a healthy, happy puppy with the promise of a bright future in a forever home. It was a wonderful day. But fast-forward, and at only eight months old, she returned—a shell of the dog she used to be. What should have been her chance at a forever home turned into a nightmare. Reba left the shelter at 30 pounds, not fully grown, and returned at just 17 pounds. Her emaciated, frail body was barely able to hold herself up. The once vibrant puppy was gone. She was covered in fleas, severely anemic, and heartbreakingly weak. Saving Hope Rescue immediately intervened and are now helping her recover. Reba will never face trauma like that again. Despite everything, Reba hasn’t given up. She’s still eating and drinking on her own—a small but powerful sign that there’s hope. But she is far from being out of the woods. She’s in critical condition and needs extensive emergency medical care, hospitalization, and round-the-clock monitoring to give her the chance she deserves. Toto survived against incredible odds as she was tragically found frozen on the side of a road. Her tiny body looked lifeless to those passing by. Thankfully, ACF Animal Rescue took her in when no one else would and are working on restoring her back to health. When she was rescued, it became clear that Toto faced more challenges than just the cold. She has a neurological condition that severely affects her coordination and balance. Walking is an ongoing struggle; she keeps falling over and often seems disoriented and stressed. Toto is now receiving the care and attention she desperately needs but requires further medical evaluations and therapies before she can be adopted. Toto is a determined pup who would greatly appreciate any support you could offer to help her heal and get back to full health. Cersei's Story: From Fear to Freedom—Your Support Makes All the Difference

D&A Animal Rescue found an innocent puppy in the most heartbreaking condition—tied up, abandoned, and left to suffer all alone. Her tiny body trembled with fear, and her eyes were full of sadness and confusion. Cersei, as they've named her, has known nothing but pain and neglect in her short life. This defenseless puppy was left with nothing but a tangled rope and the overwhelming sensation of fear. It’s incomprehensible how someone could be so cruel, but Cersei’s story isn’t over yet. Thanks to the quick action of D&A, she’s on her way to the vet, where they'll do everything possible to nurse her back to health. Right now, she’s infested with fleas and struggling with a severe worm infestation, leaving her frail and weak. But with your help, we can give her the second chance she deserves. Together, we can show Cersei that there is still goodness in the world and that there are people who care. No puppy should ever be abandoned or left to suffer. Indigo is our sweet rescue pup, adopted 4 months ago after we lost our dog Riley. She quickly bonded with our terrier, Cece, and became part of our family. Though she likely came from an abusive past, she's blossomed with love, enjoying car rides, daycare at PetSuites, and cuddles at night. Her joy has helped us heal, and she means the world to us. Indigo has a retained baby tooth that’s now causing her serious pain and discomfort. Items keep getting lodged between it and her adult tooth, leading to gum damage/bleeding and an infection risk. If not fixed soon it will also cause permanent damage to her adult tooth. She urgently needs surgery at VCA to prevent lasting harm and relieve her pain. Indigo is packed with personality—like a cartoon come to life. She loves tug-of-war, does full-on zoomies when excited, and when she naps on the couch, she always presses her head into one of us. She's overcome an abusive past and now she trots and bops along like she’s the happiest girl on Earth. She adores her daycare people, has become Cece’s best friend, and is our constant shadow around home. Like many people, we're doing our best with rising costs and bills, but unexpected costs like this are out of reach. We don't have emergency savings, and it would take months to save up for a surgery - time indigo doesn't have. Her pain is making her defensive, she is eating less, and it's heartbreaking. Helping her heal means getting our sweet, happy girl back and stopping this before it gets worse.

My husband, now deceased, and I adopted Adeline approximately 7 years ago from a school teacher. We also adopted her husband Brutus. Due to significant changes in my life, I can only care for one dog out of the four I own. I am actively working on rehoming the other three to good homes. Adeline is just 9 pounds and has a small mouth. Apparently, small dogs suffer from significant tooth decay. She has many loose teeth, is in pain, and needs many pulled, under anesthesia, while the remaining teeth will be thoroughly cleaned. I am working with Northwest Austin Veterinary Center. Adeline is so loving, playful, and full of joy and life. She is my emotional support animal and I take her almost everywhere I go. She brings a smile to all who meet her. She sits like a human, as you can see in the video I've posted. Death of my husband, loss of job, my own poor heath have all led to this juncture. I could not fathom losing my little girl, as she is what keeps me going each and every day. I want her healthy and happy and feel awful for not being able to take care of this sooner.

Boogie came into our lives in 2017 as the 6-week old runt of the litter, and he has grown our hearts immensely since then. Our “first son” has always been there, from cross country moves to becoming a big brother to Kai, and we couldn’t imagine our lives without him. On April 18, Boogie began struggling to urinate/deficate. Less than 24 hours later, we learned that he would need intensive care and several nights of hospitalization to save his life. He is healing at AERC in Oakdale, MN, from a severe infection, has a prostatic cycst, is trying to pass foreign objects, and may require surgery. If you know Boogie, you know his massive, tender heart. Often described as an "intense" lover, he eagerly connects with everyone around him, offering as much love as they are willing to receive. This gentle giant is known for his close companionship, never leaving any space between you and him, and his unwavering determination to hold onto a ball. He is a cherished member of the family. This was a completely unexpected, sudden, and major expense. He went from totally healthy to needing a multiple night stay in the hospital, and potential surgeries, overnight. We recently took in a beautiful male Golden Retriever, estimated to be around 5 or 6 years old. He had been wandering a neighborhood for some time before kind strangers were able to safely catch him. They couldn’t keep him and were preparing to release him again—but we couldn’t let that happen. We’ve posted on Nextdoor and put out signs to try to find his owner, but so far, no one has come forward. In the meantime, he needs to be seen by a vet. He will need to be neutered, have bloodwork and X-rays done, and receive a full check-up. He is sweet, gentle, and well-behaved, but clearly needs veterinary care. He is not neutered and appears to have issues with his hips or back. He walks fine but avoids jumping or putting much weight on his back legs, which suggests he may need X-rays and further evaluation. We already have an elderly dog of our own with high medical costs, along with other animals, and simply can’t afford to cover this unexpected need on our own. Give Gemini a Fresh Start: Help Her Heal and Find the Love She Deserves

Gemini's a sweet, loving cat who has found herself in a heartbreaking situation. She was urgently surrendered to the Adopt a Cat Foundation because her previous owner was moving and couldn’t take her along. Unfortunately, that’s not where her story ends – it’s where it truly begins. When Gemini arrived at her temporary foster home just a few nights ago, she was in rough shape. She came in a cardboard box falling apart, and both she and the box were covered in live fleas jumping around. The poor girl was also struggling with an upper respiratory infection, which made it hard for her to breathe and feel comfortable. To make matters worse, she was not spayed and was in heat. Her foster, has now noticed signs of pyometra – a serious and potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus that can cause a distended belly and bloody discharge. Gemini is being taken to the vet ASAP to get the care she urgently requires. Gemini’s story is urgent, and every minute counts. She’s been through so much already, and she deserves a life free from pain and fear. Cain's Comeback: Help Him Heal From Gunshot Wound

Cain wandered onto somebody's property in Henderson, Texas with a very large swollen face. Given he had been roaming the woods for who knows how long, they assumed his face swelling was due to a snake bite, an attack from another animal, or an infection. Sadly, this was not the case. Cain was taken in by Saving Hope Rescue and taken to the vet where he received a comprehensive evaluation. X-rays revealed that Cain had a bullet lodged in his face. Somebody had shot this gentle soul in his head, meaning Cain was a mere few inches from death. This revelation was a heartbreaking moment for all his caretakers, as they had fallen hard for this sweet boy. Thankfully, Cain is now safe and will never again face unfathomable cruelty like he has. He is currently in boarding at the vet, where they are carefully monitoring his progress. He has surgery scheduled to remove the bullet. Once the surgery is complete, he will go to a foster home filled with love to recover. Cain has suffered through a heartbreaking story, but we now have a chance to help him put these traumas behind him once and for all. He, like all dogs, deserves a life of happiness. Please consider donating to help Saving Hope Rescue get Cain the care he needs to recover. Update 01/28/25 Cain survived surgery today! He is doing excellent. He had a hard time waking up post-op, and he was super confused and panicked. He was given a calming injection and his caretakers sat with him to let him know he was safe and ok. It was heartbreaking to see traces of what is assumed to be some sort of PTSD. Once he calmed down, he has been doing great ever since. Thank you too all his supporters! Update 02/13/25 Cain took the next big step in his journey and went to a foster home. We are hoping it will be his FurEver home!!
