He was a stray i found under a car skinny and covered in fleas, was able to catch him and bathe him with dawn to help get rid of some of the fleas. melted my heart when i caught him with that sad kitten eyes so i knew i wanted to keep him. i couldn't leave him out there specially with all the story's of people hurting stray cats. he needs all of his shots and rabies vac, i want him microchipped and to get him neutered. id like to take him to good neighbor vet, they are friendly there and very helpful but it will cost $295 that will cover all of his shots and microchip, i like that each visit (3 rounds of shots) they exam him. also would like to get him neutered but that would likely be at friends of feline. ($90) he loves to just curl up on my chest or next to me and nap. he is only 6 weeks old so definitely in that teething stage chewing on my finger. was adorable the first time he tried to play the uncoordinated biting at my finger. we have a dog who already adores him, and the household is already attached to him. i am very low income, i was able to get him on dewormer, but i just don't have the money to afford all of the shots he needs to make sure he is happy and healthy. it would mean a lot to me and my family. he is my Emotion support animal. has been a week but already attached
Barney

Meet Barney! I got Barney as a rescue last month as the farmer didn’t want a blind duck 😞 Barney was scared at first but when he got home to his brothers and sisters he started talking and was happy. Ten days ago Barney started to show signs that something was wrong. He started flipping backwards, swinging his head around unable to stop it couldn’t keep his balance. Then the seizures started! Barney went to the vet and unfortunately his symptoms are not of the norm and his vet thinks it is neurological. With that Barney will need to go through many expensive tests and probably be treated for his whole life for him to maintain a stable future. Ankeny Animal and Avian Clinic is Barney’s vet and only one of the two vets in our area that treat birds! We know he is in good hands Being that Barney is partially blind he is an indoor duck. But he has a lot of siblings to play with in the house and to visit in the yard. His favorite thing to do right now is to sit outside on the grass and take showers. Much of his time is spent being held and cared for with his condition Unfortunately the cost of Barney’s tests and treatments were not something we could have guessed when we rescued him. We felt that with his blindness he should have a fair chance for life. We are not in a position to afford however the expenses for this serious illness

D&A Animal Rescue We received a heartbreaking plea about two young dogs dumped in a wooded area. A kind homeowner noticed them scavenging for food and water, but the dogs were too frightened to approach. With coyotes, deer, and a treacherous road nearby, time was of the essence. We assessed the situation with extreme caution to avoid scaring them further. Our patience paid off, and we successfully trapped both dogs! Today, these two little ones are safe from the scorching heat and terrifying storms. They are now settling into warm beds and cool AC. However, they have so many fleas and are definitely underweight. We are taking it slow, recognizing that they need time to trust. Now, we need YOUR help! With proper vetting and socialization, we are confident they will become adoptable soon. Diamond
Diamond is a 14 year old Beagle in Geneva, OH, who needs $192 for Ultrasound to Diagnose Abdominal Enlargement.

Subsisting for years outdoors in a dilapidated chicken coop, a rope around her neck, Diamond suffered needlessly. How she survived without access to food and water is a mystery. Neighbors called AC repeatedly to report the ghastly situation, but when officers arrived, the owner came outside with his rifle. Occasionally, one of those neighbors threw a jar of peanut butter over the property line. Diamond has a grade 4 heart murmur with an enlarged heart that is responding to medication. At her recent trip to Madison Vet Hospital, a suspicious enlargement near her liver and spleen was found and an ultrasound is needed to determine if this enlargement is due to her heart issues, or a mass or tumor that may be malignant. Safe now at the Sanctuary, Diamond luxuriates in the comfort of the first bed she's ever had and enjoys peaceful sleep. She is quiet and sweet and so well-behaved that it's hard to imagine what her past was like. Understandably. he can be a bit of a drama queen when it's time for ear cleanings and nail clippings, but some tasty treats will settle her down. As a registered nonprofit rescue, we rely on donations to pay for vet bill for the special needs animals in our care. We have already raised some funds for Diamond's lab tests but need to raise funds for her ultrasound. Can you help us help Diamond?
Valerik
Valerik is a 3 year old Mix-Breed in Russia who needs $2,000 for Spinal Stabilization, Hospitalization, and Rehab.

* Big Little Life Animal Rescue International * What humans have done to Valerik is impossible to comprehend. They kept this small boy hostage and abused him every day. Then, they threw him out by someone’s house, leaving him starved, dehydrated, scared, covered in wounds, bruises and scars, and with a broken spine. We found him completely immobile and in shock. Valerik is only 3 years old and he is in the ICU in critical condition. He was immediately hospitalized, received a blood transfusion and put on fluids. Once stable, he was taken to surgery to stabilize his vertebrae. During surgery, it was discovered his spinal cord was completely severed, which will significantly impact his mobility. Nevertheless, we remain hopeful and committed to giving Valerik the best possible care and rehabilitation. The veterinarian is currently aspirating hemorrhagic fluid through the drain. Valerik will remain hospitalized for a few days before we transfer him to a boarding facility with a rehab center known for doing miracles with dogs who have spinal injuries. We haven't lost hope that we can fix him and that he will walk once again. Please consider donating to Valerik—he deserves a life without pain and to learn that not all humans are bad. * Update 8/7/24: * For the past several weeks Valerik has been working so hard with his rehabilitation team, undergoing sessions 3-4 times a day. This rigorous routine includes exercises and evening massages, all aimed at helping him regain his strength. The focus has been on building up his lower back and pelvic muscles through exercises like squats, and acupuncture sessions which will help him develop the power needed to lift himself. Despite these efforts, Valerik’s stepping pattern remains a significant challenge. This pattern refers to the coordinated movement and rhythm of his legs as he attempts to walk. Currently, his legs are not moving in a coordinated way that resembles walking, even with external stimulation. This is a critical part of his recovery, as regaining this stepping pattern is essential for him to walk again. The prognosis remains cautious due to Valerik’s spinal cord injury but the fact that he is showing some reaction and engagement during his sessions is a positive sign, suggesting that progress, though slow, is possible. Valerik deserves a chance at a beautiful life and the freedom to move independently as he pleases, despite the cruelty that has taken so much from him. Every bit of progress gives us hope that one day we will see him walk again.

Dexter suffers from a severe chronic skin condition that put him on a local city shelter's euthanasia list. Bear Den Sanctuary stepped in knowing they had to help this sweet soul. Dexter's skin is extremely inflamed, itchy, and even bleeds and seems to be exacerbated during certain times of the year. He has lost lots of fur and even some skin. Dexter is very uncomfortable in his own skin. His skin lesions ooze and increase the risk for infection. He is currently suffering from a raging bacterial infection that has infected his abdomen. Tiger came to our apartment complex many years ago, but I have had the pleasure of being one of the residents caring for him over the last 3 years. We aren't sure how he came to our apartment complex, but he brings so much joy to everyone who lives there! Tiger is actually only one of his names. He also goes by Stan/Stanley, Cheddar, Fireball, and many others. We all care for him deeply. Unfortunately, as a community cat, Tiger has developed horrible dental issues. Although his front teeth are doing great, his back teeth are riddled with disease and lesions. His dental issues have resulted in weight loss, gum bleeding, excessive drooling, and infection. He is being seen at Lake Dow Animal Hospital in McDonough by Dr. Smith. Tiger is a special boy because of how much he is loved. The management even has a house that we hand built for him, set up by the office so everyone can give him food and water. Tiger has stolen the hearts of so many residents! Even those who have moved out, still check in for updates about him because he is truly a cat for the community. He has many homes and we all love him. We have our own 3 cats and 4 foster kittens, and on top of that, we only have 1 person bringing in an income. With those things combined, it makes unexpected high cost procedures difficult to afford. However, that should not stop Tiger from receiving the care he needs.
Peachy
Peachy is a three-month-old kitten in Burns, TN, who needs $2,000 for emergency care after being thrown from a car.

She was thrown from a car and injured. Her initial rescuers brought her to a veterinarian. X-rays showed she had an atlantoaxial subluxation, a misalignment of the vertebrae in her neck. That's when Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue received a call asking if they could help Peachy, who needed advanced medical care. The nonprofit group knows times are dire in rescue right now. The amount of money pouring out to help the abandoned, hurt, and surrendered animals is staggering. But the rescue took a leap of faith and agreed to save Peachy. They're now fundraising for the adorable kitten to see a specialist. Peachy needs to be sedated, have X-rays, and an MRI. She is currently wearing a neck brace made from a koozy. "Peachy has a strong will to live," Savannah S., with the rescue, tells Waggle. "Her foster has described her as the sweetest kitten. She is purring and loves chin scratching. She also loves it when her foster kisses her face!" The rescue is racing against time to help Peachy, but can't do it without you!
