Dog Horrifically Attacked Needs Your Help! It was a day the team at Big Little Life Rescue will never forget. It started with a frantic phone call from a volunteer about a dog lying in a ditch. "She called us, crying hysterically, saying she found a dog who had been savagely attacked, and to her, it looked like his eyes were gouged out," Irina V., with the rescue, tells Waggle. They rushed the dog, now named Sharik, to get emergency care. "Sharik is in critical condition in a clinic on a high dose of pain medication and antibiotics," Irina says. "He is unable to walk due to severe head trauma. He also is dehydrated, emaciated, and in shock. Once he is stabilized, his eyes must be surgically removed." The details are a mystery, but Sharik may have been viciously assaulted by someone using a bat. The rescue believes the blows were so merciless and forceful that Sharik's eyes popped out. Sharik is now robbed of his sight and mobility, his world reduced to excruciating pain and fear, leaving him in darkness. Bella gave her human family a lifetime of loyalty; they let her down in moments of greatest need. CAMO Rescue tells Waggle Bella's former family requested she be euthanized because she was old and cost a lot. Clearly, this senior had been mistreated for some time. The rescue says Bella's situation broke their hearts. The neglect she's suffered is written all over her. Just look at the massive, ulcerated three-pound tumor hanging from her leg, her matted fur, and overgrown nails. CAMO Rescue and their veterinarian thought she was worth saving. Now, the nonprofit group needs your help raising the money for the urgent care she needs: pain medication, antibiotics, and surgery to remove her giant tumor and fix her rotted teeth. Luna is a rescue cat I saved 4 years ago. She is a tortie. Luna was given to me by a homeless teen who I later also took in and fostered. She is the sweetest cat and she ended up becoming like a mother to another cat we adopted. Luna is the only girl in a household of boys as I’m a single parent. She adds light and sweetness to our family. About a month ago, Luna started changing her habits and was no longer cleaning herself and eventually stopped eating. She had a severe urinary tract infection and a large bladder stone that was making her feel very ill and lose her appetite. She has been treated by Dr. Schpero at Vetrinary Associates of Derby, LLC and at CHFVM animal hospital in North Haven, CT Luna has been an emotional support animal to my foster child who rescued her until they both ended up homeless. I eventually took him and Luna into my home. Luna is like the mom of my household. She nurtures us with her purrs and softness and provides us with much needed comic relief. Luna also acts as a mom to a kitten we rescued. She is the sweetest cat I’ve ever cared for. As a single parent, I have struggled financially for many years, trying to make ends meet to care for my foster child. My home has gone into foreclosure and my utilities are often shut off each month. Luna provides us with comfort and she is an integral part of our family.

Stella joined my life in May of 2022 when I adopted her from a local shelter in northern Virginia. I had gone intending to meet another cat, but was introduced to Stella by the shelter staff after talking for a moment. When the kennel door opened, she told me we were meant to be, giving me a firm greeting nudge. While I adopted her with the name Rosetta, I quickly realized she was my "Star". Stella's most recent checkup with her new provider revealed a previously overlooked injury that still needs to be treated. Likely due to being hit by a car, all four of Stella's canines are broken. Beyond causing discomfort and creating difficulty for her while eating, these broken teeth pose a life-threatening infection risk that is unable to be fully prevented without removing all four teeth. Stella's companionship means the world to me. Beyond helping me as my Autism and PTSD Emotional Support Animal, she provides companionship and monitoring to our family member in hospice throughout the day. She's incredibly clever, often peaking in at me from second-story windows to check in while still playing outside, or "knocking" on my door with her paw when ready to come in. As a disabled person, my income is relatively limited and does not give me the ability to afford the surgery and imaging Stella needs right now to both remove the injured teeth and make sure that any additional injuries are seen to.
Ollie
Ollie is a two-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Fort Lauderdale, FL, who needs $2,000 for urgent care.

When Operation Liberation first saved Ollie, they were shocked how he survived with his long list of ailments. Ollie struggled to eat because he had a cleft palate. He has an ulcerated eye that has not cleared up despite trying multiple medications. It may need to be removed. Ollie also suffered from a mycoplasma infection, which caused upper respiratory problems for weeks. He has gingivitis and may need surgery to remove some teeth. "Despite everything he has been through, Ollie is the sweetest cat who loves attention, cuddles, and pets," Amanda G., with the rescue, tells Waggle. Operation Liberation takes on special animals who need extensive medical treatment. Please help Ollie receive the care he requires.

Remus, aka "Remi" came into my life 5 weeks ago. This handsome man appeared on my patio in the dead of night, crying for food and water. Unable to locate his family on social media, I reached out to animal control to see if he was chipped. The animal control officer found he was chipped and took him to the local animal center to locate his family. Animal control contacted his family, but found they had given him away and no longer wanted him. After learning this, I hesitated only once before adding him to my small pack at home. Remi is such a sweet soul. He's cuddly and loving and demanding of pets. He loves to race past me down the stairs with the cutest little patter of his tiny feet. Remi is a silly man. He likes to sleep in a twisty fashion, he expects treats when his dog sister, Nori, comes in from doing her business, and he's constantly purring. As he's warming up in our house he has started giving me leg massages at bedtime after I give him ample pets. He fits into a space I didn't know was empty until now. Since Remi's arrival he's been a sick little man. In the past 5 weeks he's been treated for aspiration pneumonia and an upper respiratory infection that required hospitalization. He's been diagnosed with bladder/kidney stones, inflammatory bowl disease, malabsorption, B-12 deficiency, probable adrenal tumor and Cushing's Disease. In the last 5 weeks I've spent over $4k on urgent care, hospital, medication, and prescription food just to save his life and get him borderline healthy. He requires additional testing and possibly further care in the future that I cannot afford out of pocket.

Gracie joined our family 10 years ago from a Home Depot parking lot. She is beautiful pitbull mix. She is a sweet and loving dog. Gracie has a tumor growing on her left side that needs to be surgically removed. Her tumor has broken open. It bleeds and obviously bothers her. She is constantly licking it. The tumor is bothersome when she walks so she stays in her box most of the time. We are hoping that by removing the tumor we can give her more happy moments in her life. The pet doctor will be removing the tumor and sending it out for more testing. Gracie is the last dog that my deceased husband left behind. Gracie is a gentle and loving dog. She is also a great guard dog who likes to alert the family to guests and strangers. As well as local wildlife like coyotes I am on a fixed income and don’t save for unforeseen events like this. Having Gracie run around the yard chasing lizards will be a great sight to see again

Jerry was previously owned and was surrendered to our care. We’re not sure the entire circumstances or any of Jerry’s history, but know the former owner did not have the means to care for their pups. It was in Jerry’s best interest to be surrendered over, and thanks to you guys, we’ll make sure he gets everything he needs from here on out. He was attacked by another dog at some point and has been sitting in pain waiting for help. Unfortunately, there was nerve exposure and there was no saving that eye. While he was under anesthesia, the doc checked out his mouth/jaw and did x-rays to ensure there are no other injuries. While there was no evidence of any other injuries, they discovered he has severe dental disease and need several teeth pulled in the near future. Jerry is physically recovering from surgery and emotionally recovering from all of the recent trauma and change. ThisIsHouston takes on many difficult cases but is determined to help no matter the cost. Jimmy is young but has already known great suffering and his rescue story is heart-wrenching. Jimmy was discovered in a forested area where it is expected he was left for death or as prey for the local Komodo dragons. Baw Baw Animal Welfare stepped in to save this young soul from a terrifying and painful death. Upon his rescue, it was determined Jimmy is suffering from hind limb paralysis, multiple wounds, and a tapeworm infection. Jimmy is currently receiving treatment including deworming medications and antibiotics. Once he receives this initial treatment, he will be transferred to the Baw Baw sanctuary for ongoing care. The sanctuary is for disabled dogs who need specialty care and is specifically designed to ensure they live a safe, pain-free, happy life.
