Harvey
Harvey is a 10 year old Miniature Horse in Vallecito, CA, who needs $1,000 for Shoulder Surgery.

Harvey, at 10 years old, had suffered a life of neglect and abuse. He was likely used as a trip horse in illegal rodeos in Southern California, and ultimately was shipped to a kill pen/auction house. This meant he was most likely going to be sent to another neglectful environment, or even slaughtered. Sunny Rose Animal Sanctuary interrupted this fate though, and stepped in to rescue him. Harvey had a severe limp, stemming from a past injury to his shoulder that did not heal properly. He had an initial evaluation by a local vet, and his X-rays suggested he needed further care. He also had poor hoof and dental health, that fortunately have been tended to. He receives an anti-inflammatory daily that helps, but is still in pain. He currently has surgery scheduled and will also receive a CT scan the day before. This surgery will allow Harvey to ultimately walk pain free. Harvey is an incredibly sweet and curious little guy. He is very gentle and deserves so much more than the poor hand that life has dealt him. Each day he is being shown love and kindness, and he is giving it right back. For the first time, he galloped through the fields, running free, showing his playful side. It is such a delight to Sunny Rose to see his true personality blossom. Harvey's past is riddled with hardships that he will never face again. Stormy
Stormy is a 11 year old Beagle in Geneva, OH, who needs $350 for Cushing's and Heart Disease.

Abandoned by her owner, Stormy was left to wander aimlessly. Finally, someone called the shelter, and Stormy was brought in as a stray. Her condition was dire and her huge, distended abdomen puzzled the shelter vet. At that point, she was transferred to our sanctuary. After many tests, Stormy was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease, a heart condition and severe dental disease. Stormy has been in our care for 6 months and has started to lose weight. It's time to test the medication levels in her system and well as do a thorough exam and a panel of lab tests during a hospital stay. Cushing's dogs need regular monitoring as the condition can lead to other problems. Madison Vet Hospital has been treating Stormy since her arrival at the sanctuary. Despite all that Stormy has endured, she is the sweetest beagle who is determined not to let her serious health issues get her down. With a hearty appetite, Stormy lets us know when she's hungry and when she has to go outside. She's mellow and friendly with all the other dogs here and loves to snuggle with her caretakers, too. Stormy has the most endearing facial expressions and makes us smile. We are a non-profit animal sanctuary that provides high quality, lifetime care for severely ill animals, like Stormy, that have no other options. Iris
Iris is a 5 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for Severe wounds and neglect.

Iris has suffered unknown horrors No one knows the suffering Iris has endured. Her body bears so many injuries in various states of healing it is difficult to even guess. Dragged by a car is our first impression. Her face has the worst injuries with various layers of skin removed, some pieces blackened and necrotic, leaving exposed raw tissue behind. She is limping, and has wounds on both right legs and her right side. Not yet 3 years old, her body shows she has cared for multiple litters of puppies. What happened to her??? We really don’t know, but it is evident she requires extensive care. She needs to be sedated to have her wounds debrided, her eyesight evaluated and her eye possibly removed, an XRY to make sure nothing is broken. She also needs pain meds and antibiotics, laser therapy, and a spay to make sure she never has to be pregnant again. It was difficult to find a picture that is not painful to look at. Each snapshot reinforces the suffering she has endured, yet she is so sweet and desiring of affection. Iris needs our help. Iris has been failed in the past, but we have the chance to make it up to her … to show her what it feels like to be touched gently, and with love. Athena
Athena is a 10-month-old Doodle in Lutz, FL, who needs $2,000 for Surgery for Liver Shunt.

Athena seems to be another victim of over- and inbreeding and suffering the consequences. She was surrendered by her owner after being diagnosed with a liver shunt, which is likely congenital and due to irresponsible breeding. While the liver shunt is completely curable with surgery, it is an extremely extensive process and expensive surgery with an estimate around $10,000. Despite feeling lethargic and having so much recent change in her life, Athena continues to show her sweet and friendly personality. She is definitely a fighter! Athena is scheduled for surgery, but in the meantime is having additional medical testing completed. She requires bloodwork, x-rays, and ultrasound, and a CT with contrast. The medical process to fix the liver shunt will be a long road. Animalluvr's Dream Rescue is determined to get Athena the care she needs to live a long happy and healthy life. Zoey Walked the Streets Pleading for Help The cat was desperate and alone. She wandered up to a stranger, and when that person saw her belly, they were stunned! Zoey had a huge hole exposing her insides. The ACF Animal Rescue came to her rescue and got her medical care. "She is in unbelievable pain," Ayesha C., with the rescue group, tells Waggle. "Her cries of helplessness as vets try to clean her wounds are heartbreaking. It is unclear whether this is a burn that worsened over time or if she was struck somewhere and her skin got torn apart." It is clear that she mentally wants to fight, but her body needs help. You can also help Zoey by giving to her campaign so she gets the treatment she needs.

Rorschach

Most of y'all know or have seen my weird partially hairless rescue from under a porch, Rorschach. Well along with his other weird genetics and allergies he also has Stomatitis - basically all his teeth need to come out. The poor guy has so much mucus and his lymph nodes are always swollen. We have had a couple pulled here and there but it has come to a point where they all need to go. Rorschach is one of those cats that must be in someone's lap and in the center of the action. He is besties with our dogs and insists that they clean him, so he often is a bit soggy for doggo kisses. Barely having any hair means he loves to snuggle in your sweater or under the covers with you. But currently he is in pain. You can tell eating is difficult for him and he sounds terrible. Rorschach is a cat the rules the roost and is beloved by his family and many of the members of Asheville Cat Weirdos. He was on a pint glass for them an often graced the calendars. Stomatitis causes inflammation, ulcers, infections and a host of other issues with the gums surrounding the teeth. This is only on the back teeth. His canines and front teeth do not need to be removed. We have been treating this since we go him, but it has gotten to a point where minor treatments aren't cutting it and all the teeth need to go. Appalachian Animal Hospital is doing the surgery. We haven't every asked for help for the vet bills of the animals, but we just don't have this laying around and with the need being so urgent I am reaching out so it can be done as quick as possible.
Presley

Presley Came into our lives when he was 3 months old. He was recused from South Central LA. He's lived his whole life by the beach and daily walks on the pier or sand are his favorite. He's a very gentle soul and has been there for me from being a young boy into becoming a man. His sweet face has kept me going in some of the hardest times in my life. Presley started developing a cyst after after a small bit injury a few months ago. The cyst started to enlarge quickly last week so i took him to get checked-out. It was in fact diagnosed as a cancerous tumor and needs to get removed asap to save his life. Presleys demeanor has ofter been compared to Eor from "whinnie the poo" Shy, calm, and sometimes sad looking. While out on our walks we are often stopped and complemented on his good energy and how beautiful he is. After losing two very important family members the last 5 years Presley become a pivotal member of the small family unit we have left of just me and mom. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This situation was very unexpected and financially stressful. I know Presley is old but i would be so grateful to have him live out his final years healthy and Cancer free.
