Patrick

I had gone to a pet/rescue/sanctuary to adopt 2 kittens, but I was walking around the property & happened to see this scared looking too-thin, yet still rather handsome boy sitting all alone outside & when I called for him, the other cats tried to jump on him that were outside. The caretaker was able to bring him to me, and I knew he was THE ONE. The kittens would find a home, but he needed ME. I had only had Patrick 5 months & he was only 15 mos. old when he had surgery for stomatitis. Now, a mere 5 months later, he’s started hiding again, not wanting to eat, not sleeping w/me, not playing, just not himself…His vet @ WNC Vet Hosp says now he needs a deep cleaning / gingival flap / poss. 2 extractions. He’s too young to be in this much pain, & it will only worsen if not taken care of! Patrick is my Emotional Support Animal, but he is SO much more than that. He does not interact with many others than myself. He has this “feline 6th sense” & I pay close attention. He is so talkative and interactive with those he likes & he loved to play until he was in pain again. He used to wake me every morning with that little paw on my cheek & I miss that so! I just want my sweet boy back! I am disabled and have been for 12 yrs. I only receive a very limited income with not a lot of extra & I always put his needs before mine. Frequently, even that doesn’t help though. He needs care asap that will cost nearly $1000 and I have no way of coming up with the money.
Louie
Louie is a 8 year old Beagle in Pittsburgh, PA, who needs $2,000 for Splenectomy.

Louie came to us as an emergency foster. He had been rescued from a terrible abuse situation. He had another foster for a while until he had a potential home. That family didn't keep him but when they returned him, his foster couldn't take him back. So they asked me to take him in! He loved my old beagle who passed and gets along great with my other current beagle, Millie. They're both chocolate! I took Louie to the vet for a growth on his paw. They discovered another growth in his abdomen and it's pretty large. He's already anemic and needs surgery to try to remove the mass as well as the paw growth. It's about $3500 and he's under the care of Dr. Handke and Dr. Gross at Cheyenne Vet and Surgery Center in Pittsburgh. Louie was kept outside and physically harmed, so he was quite timid and scared when I met him. He's still sort of afraid of my husband. But he's coming around beautifully! He now accepts love and understands our hands don't hurt him. He can take treats without worry or fear. His fear of storms is even lessening - unless he's outside! He's learned he is safe here. He's great with my kids and dog. Our financial situation has been dire for 3 years now. The kind of care Louie needs is beyond our means to pay. Without help, he will not survive very long. Surgery is always a risk, but no surgery is a bigger one. He has come so far in 2.5 yrs & is still young and vibrant!

Coming from a rough and neglectful past where she was most likely used as a breeding dog and then dumped by her owner and ran as a stray, Lacey is surprisingly sweet and kind and, above all, forgiving, even through the numerous tests, procedures and surgeries that she endured when she first arrived. A year after being nursed back to health, Lacey started feeling ill again. She started losing too much protein through her kidneys and her appetite waned. We now need to run x-rays and ultrasound to check for masses and other abnormalities that may explain why Lacey isn't responding to the medications as we had hoped that she would. Madison Vet Hospital is providing for all of her medical needs Thriving on her caretakers’ love and affection, she loves snuggling in blankets, being bathed and massaged, and is easy to groom. Friendly and well-behaved at the vet, where she’s a special favorite, she is as smart as she is sweet, and is always in tune with what’s going on around her. She loves to play with her caretakers and several of the hounds. And, she loves to sing her "houndie" songs. We provide lifetime care for animals with medical needs and rely solely on donations to pay for their vet bills. We have raised funds for Lacey’s recent lab tests but need help with getting donations for her imaging diagnostics. Please help this deserving hound. Thanks!!

ACF Animal Rescue received a frantic call from a very kind lady, who had spotted a dog lying helplessly on the side of the road. With the help of another bystander, they carted Pippa all the way to the ACF clinic. Upon arrival, it was obvious that this dog needed help. She has a massive open wound on her neck, which is the most pressing issue. She is blind in one eye and has very little vision in the other. Her body was screaming in pain and hunger. She was severely dehydrated. She had smaller injuries in different areas of her body, and swelling near her genitals. Poor Pipa's body had nearly given up. She was limp upon arrival, exhausted from fighting so hard. She laid still, not resisting at all during her treatment. Once the vets cleaned her up the best they could, she began to perk up when they brought over food. She now rests peacefully, knowing she is safe with a regular feeding schedule. It is tangible how much her panic and exhaustion has subsided. Pippa is now safe and will never face the horrors she once did on the streets thanks to ACF Animal Rescue. Bentley is a 3-year-old Yorkshire in Murphy, TX, who needs $2,000 for Penis Removal/Dental.

Camo Dog Rescue CAMO Dog Rescue just rescued a tiny 4lb Yorkie with his penis partially hanging off. We are not sure what happened if this done intentionally or what but he's in alot of pain. His body is frail covered in fleas and totally matted. His teeth are rotted and his mouth smells terrible. Bentley is now safe and getting the tender loving care he deserves with Camo Dog Rescue. They immediately got him to their vet Mercy Animal Clinic for medical attention. Bentley is a sweet heart.. He is being cared for by Camo Dog Rescue and his loving foster. He is getting lots of love and the attention he deserves. He has a long road to recovery. Bentley had his surgery and had to have his penis removed, it was too far damaged to save. Bentley had a dental and still had his baby teeth. This caused him to have a double row of teeth causing more infection in his mouth. He’s on strong pain meds and antibiotics to control his bad infection both in the mouth and the penis removal. Please help Camo Dog Rescue care for sweet Bentley. We are rallying together to ensure he gets the care and support needed for a complete recovery.

As of now Frank is residing in a rural high kill shelter in South Carolina. Unfortunately this is one of the largest and most populated shelters in the area. Prior to this past week we are unaware of Frank's living conditions. Frank has had minimal interactions with people as he is living in an overcrowded shelter. We assume Frank has never lived in a household. as he was found in such poor condition. We do not know much about Frank as he spends 24 hours a day in his shelter pen. He presents as a friendly dog but we will know much more once he enters his foster home. Frank was brought into the shelter with multiple burns all over his body. He reeked of burning flesh and what was left of his coat was covered in thick grease residue. What we know is about 75% of Frank's body is covered in burns, and he also suffers from heartworm. As a rescue we solely rely on donations to help pups like Frank. Although we were not looking for a medical case Frank had been sitting in the shelter for 6 days making it almost cruel to not step in and help with medical treatment.
Mia
Mia is a 21-month-old Siberian Husky in Hawthorne, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Mastitis, Mammary Gland Rupture, Motility.

Mia was living outside in South Carolina, destined to give birth to yet another litter of puppies outdoors We secured foster and two of our volunteers mobilized to drive the 11 hours to pick Mia up. Sadly, Mia gave birth on a cold, rainy day before we reached her. Amazingly, all six puppies survived and came the long journey to NJ into the arms of a loving foster family and devoted volunteers. Mia is the sweetest dog. She is loving with all people, gentle, so caring with her babies, but at the same time a puppy herself, enjoying toys, playing, and long walks. She is devoted to caring for her babies and loves spending time lying at her foster mom's feet while she works when the babies are sleeping. Despite all that she has been through, Mia remains loving and trusting of people. Not many dogs could go through giving birth outside (twice), raising 2 litters of puppies (first was before we knew of her), getting mastitis, a ruptured mammary gland, horrible GI issues and caring for her babies - while still remaining such a wonderful, happy and playful pup herself! Mia was hospitalized with a high fever and mastitis. We believe the bacterial infection stemmed from giving birth outside in the rain and dirt. She also developed necrotic tissue, an abscess and a mammary gland rupture causing an open wound, as well as constant vomiting from motility and GI issues. Mia was hospitalized for 3 nights total, missing her babies the entire time! We are tired, and we are overwhelmed, but we have not given up hope. We are buried in hospital bills – but never willing to give up on these animals that desperately need us. We need you now, more than ever. Thank you for being a treasured part of our Pathway family.
Marta
Marta is a 2 year old pit bull mix in Russia, who needs $1,000 for Emergency Surgery and Hospitalization for Wound.

Marta's story is one of heartbreak. She was found emaciated and tied up at the back of a volunteer's house suffering in the extreme Russian cold. It is a mystery as to how Marta ended up there. Marta has clearly had a life of suffering. There was a nylon rope that was embedded into her flesh so deeply there were visible metal parts in the wound from the rope; riddled with infection and pus, Marta must have been in severe pain. Marta had emergency surgery to remove the rope, metal pieces, and necrotic tissue that surrounded her neck. The veterinarian estimated the severity of the wound would have taken around a month to develop, which means Marta suffered for weeks. Despite her unimaginable pain and neglect, Marta is extremely trusting of humans and craves attention. She loves to give people kisses and wants constant cuddles. Big Little Life Animal Rescue rescues stray, abandoned and abused animals. They help animals in deplorable conditions to give them a second chance at life. Please consider donating!

Pablo is a 4 year old Mix-Breed in Pakistan who needs $800 for Extreme Face Wound.

Pablo was seen being attacked by a group of men, holding him down and beating him with stones. They hurt him so badly, he had lost his eye and severely damaged the side of his head. Pablo was quickly connected with ACF Animal Rescue located in Pakistan. They have rushed to his aid in trying to get him some help. It took awhile to gain his trust, but eventually they were able to get him to their clinic. ACF Animal Rescue Clinic are managing to gently do his treatment when he is calm, but it is very difficult. Understandably, Pablo is utterly terrified of humans, but ACF will not give up. They will continue to help him and show him that not all humans are monsters like those who attacked him. ACF Animal Rescue helps dozens of animals, just like Pablo. One U.S. dollar goes a long way for animal treatment in Pakistan.
