From Stray to Safety — Help Roxy Get the Care She Needs

Loxahatchee, FL • Unconditionalloveforstrays Inc.

At Unconditional Love for Strays, Roxy came into care after being found running loose near a local middle school. A concerned community member reached out for help, and with the finder needing to leave town, the rescue stepped in immediately to ensure her safety. Upon veterinary evaluation, it was determined that Roxy had likely already been bred at a young age. She was also diagnosed with hookworm and had not yet been spayed. The team began treatment right away and continues to monitor her condition closely until she is fully cleared. As Roxy settled into rescue care, it became clear that she was struggling with interactions around other dogs. Despite multiple attempts to safely integrate her, including the use of protective equipment, she remained reactive. For her safety and the safety of others, she is now housed separately in a secure outdoor run where she can be properly managed and cared for. Roxy has since been spayed, and her care has required ongoing veterinary treatment, behavioral management, and specialized housing accommodations. These necessary expenses have quickly added up and placed a significant strain on the rescue. Unconditional Love for Strays remains committed to providing Roxy with the care and stability she needs, but they cannot do it alone. Support for her ongoing medical treatment and care will help ensure she continues to receive the attention and resources she deserves.

Fundraiser for Junior – From Chains to a Chance

Loxahatchee, FL • Unconditionalloveforstrays Inc.

Junior, now lovingly called June Bug, was found in heartbreaking conditions—chained and padlocked to cinder blocks, left outside with no food or water. X-rays showed he had eaten sand just to survive. He was malnourished, dehydrated, and days from death when Unconditional Love for Strays stepped in to save him from this life of suffering. Since his rescue, June Bug has started his long road to recovery. He was transported from another state and immediately given urgent medical care. Vets discovered intestinal worms and heartworm disease. He’s slowly gaining strength and weight, but his treatment is ongoing, and the medical expenses continue to rise with every visit. Despite all he’s endured, June Bug is gentle and full of love. He doesn’t know how to play with toys, likely because he’s never had one. But he’s learning what it means to be safe and loved. His personality is beginning to shine through, and his rescuers believe he’s finally starting to understand that he’s no longer alone. Unconditional Love for Strays is dedicated to giving June Bug the life he deserves, but they can’t do it alone. Extreme neglect cases like his come with heavy costs. Every donation, no matter the size, helps cover his care. Please consider giving or sharing his story to help Junior heal and find the future he’s always deserved.
