Lucie

Lucie is a 7 year old Mix-Breed in Falls Church, VA, who needs $1,800 for Dental Surgery.

Falls Church, VA

My Lucie Lu came into my life 9 years ago. I rescued her in 2019 when she was only 3 months. She was tiny little kitten who grew up to be a beautiful and extremely loving cat. She has a sister named Sophie who is also a rescue cat. The best word to describe Lucie is silly. She is a silly little cat who loves being loved, laying on top of you and upside down, treats, and belly rubs. My sweet girl. Two years ago Lucie had the teeth on the left side of her mouth removed due to dental issues. Now she needs the teeth on the right side of her mouth removed as well. I am doing the best I can but she is in pain and can only eat wet food. It is heartbreaking seeing my sweet Lucie Lu in pain. I was able to pay for the first surgery, but a lot has changed in the past two years and we need help. My Lucie is definitely a talker when it comes to food. If she sees you prepping her food she will meow incessantly for you to hurry up. She loves playing with the laser pointer. But honestly, what she loves the most is being loved. She LOVES, is obsessed with, and demands butt taps. If you start and then stop, trust me, she’ll complain Unfortunately, earlier this year my car drained my savings account. Since Lucie’s last surgery I’ve been doing everything I can to keep her teeth clean, including brushing. She’s in pain and I’m trying ti do everything I can to relieve her of that pain. This is unexpected

Rocco

Rocco is a 9 year old Old English Sheepdog in Laurel, MD, who needs $5,000 for Perineal Hernia Surgery.

Laurel, MD

Rocco came into my life as a puppy and has been with me for 9 years. He has been a beloved member of my family ever since. He lives in a loving home where he is cared for daily. There are no other pets in the household. His name, Rocco, was chosen because it felt strong and fitting for his personality. Rocco suffers from a severe chronic hernia on his right side that has progressively worsened over time. It affects his ability to walk and use the bathroom normally, causing constant pain. He urgently needs a third surgery. He is currently under veterinary care Anicira. Rocco is gentle, loving, and incredibly strong. Even in pain, he greets us with a wagging tail and seeks affection every day. His loyalty and sweet personality make him truly special to our family, and we want to give him the chance to live his senior years without pain. We are facing a major unexpected expense of $5,000 for Rocco’s surgery and cannot afford it on our own. We are asking for help so he can receive the treatment he urgently needs and live without pain. Any donation, no matter the size, will help Rocco get closer to his surgery

Captain

Captain is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Alexandria, VA, who needs $4,000 for Medial Patellar Luxation (MPL).

Alexandria, VA

I adopted Captain last year from a local animal shelter. He celebrated his first birthday with me a couple of months ago, and he really enjoyed his homemade birthday cake! Captain got injured while on a walk. He can't walk properly now because he has a dislocated kneecap, and he needs surgery at the Anicira Veterinary Center to put it back into place. Captain is very energetic and loves to play fetch at the dog park, take long walks at the park, or just play tug at home. He also loves to nap in the sun, take car rides, and snuggle up in the bed. He is very smart and loves to train, too. He loves any kind of food, especially fruits and vegetables! I am currently a doctoral student with a fixed yearly stipend. It is difficult to pay for his current surgery with my current income, especially since I am not allowed to work another job while I am in my program.

Ruth

Ruth is a 4 year old German Shepherd Dog in Mount Wolf, PA, who needs $9,999 for TPLO Surgery on Both Knees.

Mount Wolf, PA

My husband and I adopted Ruth when she was 11 weeks old in 2022. We had adopted our cats in 2019-2020 and decided we were ready for a new fur baby. We later found we were pregnant a few months into training her. Even as an energetic puppy, she wanted to lie on my belly all throughout my pregnancy. She is my soul dog, my toddler loves her, and I don't know where I would be without her. Ruth tore her CCL in her knee two years ago. We were told to wait until she injured it again, and then we could do the surgery. We moved to Pennsylvania this last summer, and recently learned she has partially torn her other knee. She now needs TPLO surgery on each knee, so we called surrounding vets in different states for affordable options. We found Aniciria in Virginia to be the best cost. Ruth is very excitable. She loves to play, loves to play fetch. She insists on swimming anytime we let her. She is high energy all the time, but loves to snuggle. She loves our cats and my toddler. She can be vocal, and therefore sassy, but it makes me love her even more. We moved with our 2-year-old across the country to avoid living paycheck to paycheck. We have another cat who is epileptic and needs expensive medical care frequently. We live on one income, and can't afford childcare. We don't have the funds for this surgery.

Lexi is more than just a pet—she’s family. She entered our lives eight years ago, just as my daughter was born, and since that moment, she has been our constant companion, guardian, and best friend. Currently, Lexi lives with us in our modest home, where we cherish simple moments filled with laughter and companionship. Lexi, our beloved Jack Russell Terrier, urgently needs veterinary care for a painful tooth abscess at Banfield Hospital in Sterling, VA. Due to recent unemployment and financial hardship following a divorce and bankruptcy, I'm unable to cover the treatment costs. Your generosity and support during this difficult time would mean the world to Lexi and our family. Lexi is an extraordinary Jack Russell with a gentle heart and playful spirit. Since joining our family alongside my daughter's birth, she's become our constant, loyal companion. Lexi intuitively offers comfort, joy, and warmth, strengthening our bond through endless love, patience, and affectionate cuddles. Due to unemployment and recent bankruptcy after a tough divorce, I'm unable to afford Lexi's urgent dental care. Seeing her healthy again means restoring joy and peace in our home. Your support would relieve immense stress, allowing Lexi to once more be happy and healthy.

Warrenton, VA

Joey has been a beloved member of our family for the past 10 years, and in that time, he’s proven to be much more than just a dog—he’s a steadfast companion, a loyal protector, and, in many ways, the heart of our home. Though he may think he’s a lap dog (and who can blame him?), he’s much larger than that in spirit. As the family’s support dog, Joey provides unwavering comfort and love. Recently, we've learned that Joey has a growth that requires dental surgery. While we’re aware that this will be a challenging time for him, we’re confident that with the right care, he has many more years of happiness ahead. Joey is a strong, resilient dog with so much life left in him, and we’re committed to giving him the best chance to thrive. His health and well-being are our top priorities. Joey has been a treasured member of our family for the last 10 years, and in that time, he’s shown us what true love, loyalty, and companionship really mean. He’s not just a dog—he’s a source of comfort, joy, and endless entertainment. Whether he’s happily swimming in the lake, chasing after a ball during a game of fetch, or simply curling up beside me at night, Joey’s love fills our lives! Unfortunately, we’ve recently faced an unexpected medical emergency with Joey. A growth has developed that requires urgent dental surgery, and the cost of the procedure, along with any potential ongoing treatment, is significant. We’re doing everything we can to help Joey!

It brings me joy see that they bring him so much happiness. Ziggy's vet diagnosed her with a torn ACL. The vet also recommended that she get a TPLO surgery. Unfortunately that's a very expensive surgery that I cannot afford, nor can my family afford. We have discovered a wonderful veterinarian hospital called Anicira Veterinary Center which we do have an upcoming appointment for the vet to go over with us, the surgery and the cost. Virginia Beach, VA

We rescued Zeus from the Norfolk SPCA January 11th of last year. He’s been such a sweet boy. However, tragedy struck that April. While playing at the park, he took a nasty fall and tore his CCL. We’ve been trying so hard to save for the surgery needed to help him. He’s been ordered to stay in his kennel all day to not ruin his leg anymore, and we hate seeing him like this. Zeus has a very loving family with lots of attention and rubbings but it is hard for us to love on him with his injury he’s very hyper and rambunctious. We’ve been told to keep him in his kennel most of the day, except for going potty. He’s our little buddy we just want him to get better so he can play with his sister and have a normal life without his injury getting worse and finally healed Zeus had always been a silly boy, he’s never been afraid to say hello to his dad coming home from work. He loves voicing his opinion when we talk to him. He likes getting all wriggled up in his kennel, or on the couch. When he’s sleeping he only dreams lying on his back, he’s kicking his legs and yipping and yapping. Zeus was diagnosed with his CCL tear at Virginia Beach SPCA, so far he’s been resting in his kennel and taking pain medication twice daily. We’ve been told surgery is the only way he’ll live a full healthy life although he will have arthritis for the rest of his days, but we don’t think that will slow him down a bit. He’ll just be a trooper and be his happy. Go lucky self. After being diagnosed with an illness, I haven’t been able to work outside of home due to sudden loss of consciousness. My husband is Active Duty Navy, and doesn’t make much from that. We’ve been trying DoorDash on the side, trying to make bills or catch up on savings.

Tiana is a white/tan senior dog. She's a 10 yr old Havanese that has lived within my care since 2013 and has been a huge support system for my mental health. Tiana interacts with everyone on the same level. She's in between Nice and Mean or what I like to call... Nean! She's a moody senior dog but that doesn't stop her from demanding cuddles, snacks, and play time. She's always wagging her tail for attention and putting her paw on my arm with little growls until she gets me to hug her and rub her tummy or give her a brushing. Tiana means the world to me like my other pets. She keeps me grounded with my mental health and acts as an anchor to continue fighting and living day by day. We love playing with the squeaky toys and watching tv together. As a Senior Dog, Tiana has had a lot of dental problems over the years. I recently found a loose tooth that needs extraction. Being a worrywort that panics very easily, I'm afraid it might get worse. She needs help but I'm unable to afford the dental work myself... Her vet that'll treat the dental situation is Anicira in Manassas Virginia. I'm mentally disabled, currently seeing a therapist weekly, and waiting on SSDI/SSI. Arlington, VA

Albert, a 2-year-old black domestic shorthair cat, was found on the streets, his teeth damaged from the harsh battles of survival. Diagnosed FIV+, he was adopted but returned to the shelter shortly after. After two weeks, he found a foster home and was eventually adopted. Despite his tough past, Albert is incredibly cuddly and gentle, always seeking affection. After being brought home from the shelter to be fostered, Albert quickly settled into my household, and eventually was adopted by me. He spends hours snuggling and purring on laps, spreading warmth and love. He's an expert at sensing emotions, offering comfort during tough times. Casanova's gentle nature and unwavering affection have made him an integral part of my life. Albert, is truly special. When he's excited, he bounces around like a playful kangaroo, pouncing on invisible prey. But it's his adorable meow that steals hearts—it's a unique combination of a chirp and a trill. And oh, his love for making biscuits! Whenever he's content, he kneads the softest blanket with pure bliss, reminding us of his innate need for comfort. Albert, has faced various medical challenges. As an FIV+ cat, his immune system battles constantly. Dental issues have plagued him—his canine teeth are fractured, and he's missing several incisors and maxillary cheek teeth. Tartar and gingivitis further complicated matters. These dental woes make it difficult for Albert to enjoy treats and kibble comfortably. Currently, I am faceing pressing financial need due to various unexpected expenses, including medical bills. It would bring immense relief and peace of mind, knowing that he can live a pain-free life and enjoy his favorite activities.
