Willow

Willow is a 3 year old American Shorthair in Lakewood , WA, who needs $2,000 for Total Mouth Tooth Extraction Surgery.

Lakewood, WA

Exactly 2yrs ago my daughter and I were leaving the outdoor mall and saw a kitten dodge under a dumpster. We stopped and took a can of cat food to try to lure her out. Unsuccessful, I asked a man at the loading dock who said she had been dumped 3wks before. I went home and got my trap. I trap abandoned cats and find them homes. She had been abused and was so traumatized I kept her. She was 7mths old Willow has been very healthy. She's spayed and I keep her vaccinations up. She's developed severe stomatitis and the vet says she needs all her teeth pulled. She was in a lot of pain and has been given antibiotics and a steroid, but the vet said it will return in 4-6wks. It is only curable by removing her teeth. The Animal Care Clinic of University Place, Wa. takes care of her Since Willow was abused as a baby and then abandoned I am the only one she trusts. She loves to sleep under my covers with me, and her best friend is her big brother Leo. She never gets into anything, except boxes. She loves a box filled with shipping papers which she buries herself in. She's so quiet I sometimes can't find her. She's small because of the abuse as a baby. She deserves love. I am disabled on SS. I have several medical issues that require extra cost, including Aortic stenosis and RA. I am on a home chemo treatment for the RA and will require heart surgery in 1-2yrs. I need my fur babies! They help with stress which is good for both RA and heart

Sport

Sport is a 5-year-old Shepard in Tacoma, WA, who needs $1,800 for Palpation of Right Stifel- Drawer Motion Mild Joint Infusion.

Tacoma, WA

Sport was listed on my neighborhood watch as a found dog contained in their yard. I responded within the hour, but the people had already taken him to the humane society! I promptly went to humane society and claimed him. Started a local campaign to locate owners to no avail. Got him neutered, and the vet told me that he had been on the run for some time. His nails were so short from running. Sport has become are best friend and more importantly my other rescued dog's best friend. Our local veterinarian has given us hope that we won't have to put him down. I have rescued dogs my entire life and with help, continue to do so. I am 65 and have the place to do so. They are loving souls. Sport was afraid of any loud noise and had horrid separation anxiety. Having two other rescued dogs helped a lot. Soon he was looking out for and protecting the small dog. Now he is the commander and chief of the entire yard, no trespassers here. Except for the darn fireworks that scare him bad enough to plow through a wire fence. Ripping 2 ligaments in his leg. New Year's nite the fireworks started about 8 PM, at which time we went into the garage and started a fire with the tv on loud. About 3AM the fireworks had subsided, and I took the dogs out to pee, that is when a mirage of mortar type fireworks exploded. Sport tried to run through a wire fence, getting his hind leg caught up in the fence. The estimate to repair his leg is $6282 Since my cancer surgery a few years back I am unable to work and waiting for my SS to kick in. Sport has helped me tremendously. We all love him tremendously too. The last thing we want is to have to put him down. He is young and vibrant with a lot of love to give.

Tank

Tank is a 9-year-old Pitbull in Port Orchard , WA, who needs $2,000 for Scar Revision/Resection.

Port orchard, WA

We have had Tank since he was 6mo. old. He was from a litter of my co-workers and it was love at first sight. He makes us laugh on a daily basis. In 9yrs he hasn't slowed down a bit. His favorite activity is cuddling. He's a bed hog and a snorer and the sweetest soul. He loves to run wild in the house then go outside and just lay there lol. Tank was in love with our older dog from the day they met. She didn't feel quite the same lol but now they are inseparable. We got a cat 4yrs ago and were worried because he's so big and curious, but he transitioned so well and that's his 2nd buddy. He's my foot warmer, our cuddle buddy, my other dogs best friend and our cat is obsessed with him and cleaning his ears! Talker doesn't even start to describe Tank. He does this 'yeti' call thing that you can't help but laugh. He's a crieer, even when he's happy. He's startled by his own farts.. he is scared of anything new and avoided our garage for weeks because there was a new shovel in there. Yet he loves to chase the deer in our yard if given the chance. Tank had a lump on his back that my vet believed to be a fatty tumor, it was biopsied and inconclusive. We removed another non cancerous tumor last year. Due to his family history I opted to remove this one as well. That sample came back as a soft tissue sarcoma. He was seen at by an oncologist and given the best possible outcome of a 2nd surgery and hopefully no chemo or radiation. Tanks best friend, our older dog was diagnosed with cancer in March. Hers unfortunately does not have a good prognosis. With multiple surgery and oncology visits for both, diet changes, supplements, and medications it has added up faster than we gather funds.

Rambo

Rambo is a 16-year-old Tabby Cat in Fircrest, WA, who needs $2,000 for Dental Extractions.

Fircrest, WA

Ever since the spring of 2007, a handsome and somewhat skittish cat would hang out on my porch or in my yard under this purple bush that provided some shade and a comfy bed. He would lounge away the days and nights and purr and make air biscuits for all to see. Well, it turns out that on some days he would do the very same thing at my next-door neighbor's house. No one knew who he belonged to or where he lived, but we feed him and loved him all the same. He always stayed close to our homes, which he had now made his home(s). Sometimes when it got too cold in the winter we would have to bring him indoors (against his will). He is a very proud outdoor cat and that is just how he likes it. Recently we noticed that he had stopped eating and was losing weight. So we took him in to see the Vet and they verified that he had some seriously bad teeth and mouth problems. Gum disease had created sores in his mouth, he had one dead tooth and at least one or more infected teeth. The infection went all the way down to the bone. They immediately put him on antibiotics and pain meds, which have helped tremendously. But the cost to extract several teeth is $2100. The Vet also told us that all of his bad teeth must certainly be pulled, otherwise, his infection would reoccur and his quality of life would diminish quickly - resulting in a very painful death. It was some years after meeting this cat that we finally gave him a name. Rambo. This cat is a survivor and he has many more years left in him. He deserves to live, which is why we are using Waggle. Help! Dr. Hoots at the Animal Care Clinic has already sedated him once so we know that he is a good candidate for the surgery. And except for his teeth and a touch of arthritis he is a very healthy cat. We hope you might help us help our friend. Rambo gives us so much joy!
