Camellia

Camellia is a 1 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for Orthopedic Surgery.

Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates

* One by One Animal Advocates * Camellia was left all alone on a desolate, windy road. She had a noticeable injury, yet she remained faithful, waiting for her humans to come back. The love and loyalty in her eyes cut through the sadness of being abandoned with just a small bit of food. It's heart wrenching to think how someone could leave such a loyal companion behind. The level of love and loyalty Camellia had for her owner and their obvious disregard for her breaks our hearts. The shelter was no place for an injured dog, so ACC has graciously boarded her. XRYs showed her hip was out of socket so she had a closed reduction of her hip and a specialty sling applied. This was the best option but, unfortunately, it was not enough to keep her leg in place. She needs to have another orthopedic surgery - a femoral head ostectomy - to fix her leg. Camellia was abandoned by the people who should have loved and protected her; to them, she was worthless. We need to raise $3000 to cover two different orthopedic surgeries, her vetting, and spay. Your donation today is a statement that Camellia’s life is valued. She means something to us, and we want to help her heal so she can find a family who will cherish her. Thank you for your help!

Theodore

Theodore is a 10-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $1,884 for urgent eye surgery.

Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates

Theodore was desperate. The senior cat was alone and suffering from a ruptured, swollen eye. He found a woman and begged her for help. The woman couldn't hold back her tears. Her heart just ached when she saw his injured eye. It looked so painful. She knew he needed veterinary care immediately. She felt helpless because she didn't have the money to pay for it. She rushed him to the animal hospital, and that's when One By One Animal Advocates heard about the 11-year-old cat. "As soon as we learned about Theodore, we immediately took him in," Heather A. with the nonprofit organization tells Waggle. "He needed surgery immediately to remove his damaged eye and to be out of pain." Now the group needs your help paying for Theodore's surgery bill. Can you help? "Every little bit counts towards giving him a chance at healing and finding a forever home where he'll be loved and cared for," Heather says. "Please consider giving today. Together, we can make a difference in Theodore's life!"

Olaf

Olaf is a 6-year-old Turkish Angora Cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $920 for Treatment due to Extreme Neglect.

Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates

The horror Olaf experienced is unimaginable. It's almost too hard to witness the horror Olaf's been through. His once-beautiful coat has twisted and ripped his delicate skin, leaving him unrecognizable. Olaf and her companion Olga were abandoned by their owner, and their neighbor brought them into a shelter to get them the care they desperately needed. "It breaks our hearts to think about how long they suffered like this before being rescued," Heather from One by One rescue says. His fur is matted with 5 inches of dirt, urine, feces, and fleas, making it almost impossible to recognize his true beauty underneath all the mess. These poor cats desperately need intensive grooming, sedation, and antibiotics before the vets can do a full health check. They are worried that they may have diabetes due to their size and are concerned about what other problems could be hidden under all those matted fur. "He deserves so much better than he's endured in his six years. We're determined to give him the love and care he desperately needs." One by One Advocates is asking for your help to raise funds for Olaf's medical treatment so that they can give this sweet kitty the attention he deserves.

Her eyes said, 'What could possibly be next?' Heather A., from One By One Animal Advocates, tells Waggle about the first moment she saw Marnie. "It just broke my heart. I thought, 'We are going to make you better!'" The group saved Marnie from a kill shelter after her owner surrendered her. "He told the shelter he could not deal with her anymore. He had her since she was a puppy. He didn't even give the shelter her name, so we named her Marnie. She was in very poor condition and was absolutely miserable," Heather says. Volunteers drove Marnie to Animal Care Clinic Inc., where she was immediately put into medical boarding and diagnosed with mange, Lyme disease, and skin and ear infections. Marnie's eyes were nearly swollen shut and crusted with green goop. She had been suffering from chronic dry eye for so long that extra blood vessels grew over her cornea, and now she is nearly blind. Now Marnie is getting the care she needs, including antibiotics for all her infections, pain medication, treatment for her mange and eyes. "Her terrible days are behind her. We will never give up on her," Heather says. One By One Animal Advocates is raising money to help pay for all the medical care Marnie needs. Please consider donating on this girl's behalf. Help her finally get the ever-lasting love she deserves.

Mabel

Mabel is a five-year-old Redtick Coonhound in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for urgent leg surgery.

Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates

Mabel's brush with death was narrowly averted because a volunteer from One By One Animal Advocates just happened to be at the animal shelter when the Redtick Coonhound came limping in. "Our volunteer heard Mabel's owner say she got her leg stuck in a trap and she was no good to him anymore," Heather A., from the group, tells Waggle. The volunteer knew she had to act quickly, or Mabel would be looking at a death sentence. "The shelter euthanizes dogs, and they have no medical care or a budget," Heather says. The volunteer now turned hero, got Mabel out and to Animal Care Clinic, Inc., where she became a staff favorite. Her veterinarian says poor Mabel has a "crush injury" to her leg, likely from the force of the trap slamming shut. They tried various means of saving her leg, but none of them worked. Now Mabel needs amputation surgery to live without the pain and infection she's suffering with now. One By One Animal Advocates is heartbroken about what Mabel went through, especially with her sweet disposition and kind eyes. "You're outraged," Heather says. "You want to be shocked, but in these rural areas, some people don't value their animals. There was no love or compassion. She was just discarded." With your help, Mabel will get the care she needs and be adopted to a family that adores and cherishes her. "I hope people can see Mabel how we see her and see the value she has as a living being," Heather adds. "We appreciate the Waggle community who has such a compassionate heart and willing to help dogs they've never met. It's outstanding they care so much to make sure she gets what she needs."
