Bernie

Bernie is a 10 year old Mix-Breed in Walnut Cove, NC, who needs $2,000 for Chemotherapy (for Injection Site Sarcoma).

Walnut Cove, NC

I rescued Bernie from living outside and have done my best to care for him regardless of my own hardships. He was diagnosed with injection site Sarcoma on 9/18/2025. I have been giving him medication ever since, per the veterinarian until earlier this year when I was advised to stop treatment for a couple of months because Bernie had to have an allergy treatment. His cancer has spread since. -since I had to subside his medication, the cancer/tumor has spread to his anus and treatment/chemo is required in order to avoid economic euthanasia due to cost and his current condition. He has saved me just as much as I have saved him. He loves to lay in the bed and talk to you when he needs to. He is a pleasant cat and hasn’t given me any trouble. My income varies because of the competitive house and pet sitting market that I work in. I am considered as living below the poverty line. I don’t turn down work and go above and beyond.

Flossie

Flossie is a 4 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in king, NC, who needs $4,000 for Surgery on Both Legs.

king, NC

Flossie was chosen for my by my sister. Her mother had been hit by and car and passed away when she was two week old. We had to bottle feed her. I carried her everywhere with me. When she was scared I crawled in her cage and slept with her. She was instrumental in helping me emotionally when my mom passed away. She has the best personality and disposition. She loves belly rubs and kisses. Flossie goes to Animal Care clinic in Rural Hall NC. They had determined that her left knee cap is out of place permanently. The ACL and ligaments are damaged. Her right knee cap pops in and out and has ligament and ACL damage as well. She is on a pain management regiment. The vet stated that she would be in so much pain within a year, she would need to be put down without surgery. Flossie is such a lover. She wakes me up in the middle of the night just to love on her. SHe whines when you stop petting her. She loves to play, but is in alot of pain so she is slowed down. She loves to lick you, She loves belly rubs, treats, sitting in the sun. She loves playing in the leaves in the fall., She is only 4 and it is heartbreaking to know that she has to suffer! I have no emergency fund. I got sick over a year ago and was out of work, the day to day bills had to be put on credit cards. As you can imagine my credit is not good. I cannot afford an extra bill nor do I quality for any credit programs.

Fairytale

Fairytale is a 1 year old American Shorthair in Mount Airy , NC, who needs $600 for Flea Treatment and Antibiotics for Eyes.

Mount Airy, NC

Fairytale was brought to us by our dog Rooster when she was a kitten. It was the oddest thing, he just carried this little black kitten into the house by her head! We were naturally all mortified but relieved to see that she was unharmed and well. She got her name because the end of her tail is short and a little crooked, like in the shape of the number 7, so Fairytale it was. We call her Fairy. Fairytale became pregnant way too soon, she isn't even 1 year old yet. She had her kittens in the tall grass outside while I was away for a work thing. 5 beautiful kittens. Unfortunately 1 of the kittens passed 1 week later. So we have 4 kittens left. They are full of fleas that no matter how hard I try to combat, just infest these poor babies. 2 of them have contracted an eye infection. Fairytale is such and incredible mama. She is the mama to everyone in the house. Always making sure everyone is good and feeling happy. If anyone is sick or feeling down, you'll see our little Fairy right there watching after them. For a young mama she is so nurturing and attentive. She has become more vocal since having her babies which to me is great, I love hearing her talk to her babies. I have 4 babies myself, and just like fairy I take care of them on my own. I recently had to step away from work due to the mental health needs of 1 of my children. As much as I would live to be able to get Fairy and her babies the care they need, I just can't.

Lily

Lily is a 7-year-old Dachshund in Madison , NC, who needs $500 for Tooth Extraction.

Madison, NC

My girl is going on 8 years old and is my world. She is overall pretty heathly but she broke a tooth and needs to get it taken care of. Unfortunately I don't get paid til next week and don't know what to do Lily is the best girl you could ask for the mother to all our animals and my Esa and hopefully soon she will also transfer into a full blown therapy dog so I can take her to see the sick and elderly. She gental and calm and loves almost everyone and everything minus a bird hates birds must be a dachshund thing but loves our cats other big dog and even the snake she's special in every way I lost my grandmother in spring of 2015 and I was broken the family gave me a bunch of nick nacks and things I couldn't use so my daughter and I decided to have a yard sale and we took the money we raised and got this little diva to be a companion to my 2 year old male I had. Unfortunately we lost her mate and my best friend of 12 years in May of 22 but she has been right with me since day 1 I noticed tonight that she was acting like something was stuck in her teeth and when I went to look I seen that the one in the back had broke in half for the most part all her teeth look good minus that on and the one on the other side I try my best to brush and take care of them but with age I guess it's all apart of it Honestly I am on a pretty strick income but I don't mind pushing a bill or two to make sure my baby is OK the only issue is I don't get paid until next week because I'm paid biweekly and it hit me when money is running low

Photo of Fat Boy

Fat Boy

Fat Boy is a 9-year-old Mix in High Point, NC, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Care for Fractured Pelvis and Degloved Leg.

High Point, NC • Susie’s Hope

*WARNING* Graphic pictures This poor puppy is only 9 months. He was the last of an unplanned litter to be adopted. "Fat Boy’s owners thought they found him a great home." Susie's Hope tells Waggle. "The new adopters had only been gone with Fat Boy for 20 minutes when they called to say he had escaped." His original dad, Trey, drove immediately to the new owner’s home and heard screaming. Trey's heart sank as he ran towards Fat Boy, now lying motionless in the middle of the street. He was cruelly struck by a hit and run driver. Gently lifting him into his truck, they drove straight to an emergency veterinary hospital. X-rays revealed that not only did he have a broken pelvis, but he had also experienced a painful degloving injury to his hind leg. Fat Boy remained at the specialty hospital for 3 days, receiving around the clock emergency care, until being transferred to their local vet. The wound is at a high risk of infection. It had unfortunately become infected and tissue was dying. His vet cleaned and removed the dead tissue and recommended skin grafts by a specialty surgeon which would cost an additional $5000 on top of the $6000. "Trey had decided to sell his truck to raise the funds to save his beloved dog. This is the point that he contacted us for assistance and advice." Susie's Hope is a 501c3 rescue who generously stepped in to help. "We made arrangements for our experienced and trusted vet to see if she felt skin grafts were necessary due to the location of the injury." Luckily it is not - greatly reducing the cost. "Needless to say, Fat Boy is never leaving their family! Trey is an amazing person and a hard working automotive mechanic." Please pray for precious Fat Boy and donate if possible! Every bit will make a world of difference.
