Jake
Jake is a 6 year old Papillon in Kneeland, CA, who needs $8,000 for Diagnostics and Treatment.
Kneeland, CA
Jake has been part of my family for years and lives with me and his brother, Finnley. The two of them are deeply bonded and are a huge part of my everyday life. Jake is normally loving, expressive, and full of personality, so seeing him suddenly become sick and uncomfortable has been frightening. Jake has suddenly become very unwell. He is barely eating, walking stiffly, and has developed a painful lump near his shoulder that caused him to cry when touched. He has also had unusual scabbing that was not healing normally. He urgently needs veterinary testing and treatment to determine what is wrong. Jake is the post polite and personable dog I have ever met. We connected for the first time when he was a puppy and I pointed at his favorite toy and called it ducky. He looked down my arm to see what I was pointing at and realized I was talking about his toy. He lit up and bounced over to pick it up and bring it to me and his favorite game is now fetch. He is very communicative, outgoing, sweet Jake has suddenly become very unwell. He is barely eating, walking stiffly, and has developed a painful lump near his shoulder that caused him to cry when touched. He has also had unusual scabbing that was not healing normally. Urgently needs veterinary testing and treatment

Kataude
Kataude is a 8 month old Mix-Breed in Arcata, CA, who needs $1,270 for Abdominal Ultrasound, Biopsy, FIP Test, Cytology.
Arcata, CA
At 6 weeks, Kataude was found in a shoebox—cold, starving, dehydrated, anemic, flea-covered, with a broken jaw and arm. The next day the shelter said I’d accepted care and couldn’t take him. Rescues were full. With 3 other rescues at home and no funds, I still couldn’t leave him. That was 7 months ago. Kataude means “one arm” in Japanese, but I like that it also means “right-hand man.” As Kataude healed, he became attached to Lola, my 20 year old chihuahua, napping beside her for hours. Once he had more energy, he formed a playful, loving bond with my former feral cat Big Daddy. Though he dislikes being picked up and squirms away, he sneaks into laps or arms unnoticed—suddenly you realize he’s been cuddling for some time. He steadily recovered from injuries and was gaining weight, but at 5 months, digestive issues began, worsening over time. His appetite faded, and now he struggles to eat. Arcata Animal Hospital suspects FIP, a viral illness. More testing is needed, followed by a 3+ month treatment if confirmed. If FIP is untreated, death will likely occur within months. When he was found, I was finishing grad school and barely covering basics. I now work full-time, but I have debts to pay off, and other pets that need care too. Kataude has fought hard to live, please help me help him.

Willow
Willow is a nine-year-old Augie in Arcata, CA, who needs $2,000 for urgent leg surgery.
Arcata, CA
Christmas festivities and gift-giving are canceled this year in Jennifer M.'s house. They only have one wish: to raise enough money for their beloved dog, Willow, to have the urgent leg surgery she needs. "We are looking for a holiday miracle," Jennifer tells Waggle. "We didn't put up a tree. The kids aren't getting presents. We are putting everything into helping Willow. She's our baby. We absolutely adore her." Willow's veterinarian believes Willow tore the ACL ligament in one of her legs. Jennifer says she remembers to moment it happened. "We were at the beach, and she was running around," Jennifer recalls. "She was super happy one minute, and the next minute she was limping. We thought it would pass, but it didn't. We were so devastated. She's our baby. We absolutely adore her." Jennifer and her husband are struggling to pay their monthly bills right now. They don't have enough to cover the surgery Willow needs to repair her ACL tear. "The amount of inflation right now is awful," Jennifer says. "It's unreal. We are currently pulling money out of our small savings to cover our living costs. My husband is working full time. I take care of the home and our family while working, doing childcare and photography, and work has been slow." Not being able to get Willow her surgery immediately is breaking their hearts. "Willow is the sweetest thing on the planet. She has such little legs that hold up her body weight. She's limping and in pain. It's so hard for her. She can't even play with her toys. I just feel awful. I wish I could just fix it now," Jennifer says. Jennifer adds that even her children are trying to raise money to help Willow. "She is technically our daughter's therapy pet, but she is medicine for all of us. She is so loved and loving. She loves to play, give kisses, and snuggle. She brings happiness to us and everyone who visits her. Our kids have learned so much about caring for her and raising her. They are helping a lot with our fundraising." Please help Willow get the holiday miracle her family hopes for by giving to her campaign!
