Giblet

Giblet is a 13 year old American Shorthair in Costa Mesa , CA, who needs $2,000 for Rear Leg Amputation.

Costa Mesa, CA

We found Giblet as an abandoned stray kitten who was left all alone in a pumpkin patch when we lived up in Ventura, CA. It wasn't long before he went from a scrawny, dirty kitten with mange into a truly handsome & mighty little lion. We've been through alot since then including losing everything we owned in the Thomas wildfires & made the move down to Orange county, CA. Sadly, Giblet was last seen sitting out on my front lawn one night, when I noticed too much time had gone by without him checking in. After that, he went missing for 2 weeks until I found him on the OC Animal Care website. It was my traumatized cat with big, scared eyes, facial wounds, part of his ear missing & a fractured rear leg oddly positioned to the side. It felt completely surreal. Giblet is such an incredibly SWEET boy & everyone who knows him loves him...& I'm not lying when I say that he's more popular with the neighbors than I am. He is very protective of his lil sissy LuLu, who happens to be a chubby Pug mix & EVERY time I take her out for a walk, Giblet loyally tags along & follows right behind us. We never taught him to do it but it's all the neighbors ever talk about One month prior to Giblet going missing, he was taken to VCA Speciality hospital for vomiting & no appetite. We paid $1800 for labwork, x-rays & IV fluids which revealed a heart murmur & hyperthyroidism. Sadly now, we can't afford $2000 amputation surgery that he needs

Harley

Harley is a 6-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Costa Mesa , CA, who needs $1,075 for Abscess Removal.

Costa Mesa, CA

My dad adopted her from aspca and was for my nieces and nephew. But when they moved they could not take her. And I been taking care of her all along. So she stayed at my parents with me. Once I moved and my mom passed away my dad asked me to take her since he was moving. So I been having her now 3 years. We live in a rented room where she’s my companion and my world. We live on a small budget As I said before i rent rooms. She’s been very good and happy a happy Kitty. She only interacts with me mainly. She’s very good with others. She is very quite not much talking. Very lovable. We cuddle during bed time. As I can not have kids she is my child as if she was my own kid. I would do anything for her and would never give her up since my mom died she’s my all! Well what makes me laugh is when she chases her tail. It’s funny. And when she gets the zoomies. I have a big room for her to run around and feel comfortable. She makes me smile as we cuddle. She taps me on my arm as to say mommy I want to cuddle to sleep. It she cutest. Never had a cat do that ever. I’ve own many cats since childhood. Well I have noticed a few months ago a small bump on cheek like a pimple under her fur. Couldn’t see much until it starting getting bigger and more visible. Just a delicate abcess or tumor they said. A few weeks ago I came home to her bleeding from it and blood all over my room. She must of broke it open or scratched it open. So they suggest removal of abcess. I am on a fixed income. My paycheck barely covers rent and small bills every month. Food I get ebt to help. I am divorced and living alone. With no help. If I had a way to help pay it all I would. She’s my world and I can’t live with out her. She reminds me of my mom.

Ozzy

Ozzy is a 2-year-old Siamese mix in Costa Mesa, CA, who needs $1,900 for removal of a massive stone blocking her bladder.

Costa Mesa, CA

I adopted Ozzy in March of 2018 from an animal shelter in Orange County. I had been visiting the shelter for about a week, playing with the animals and mourning the loss of my dog. I decided to visit the cats, although I didn’t think I would ever have one. As I walked past Ozzy’s cage- she reached her arms out towards me, laying on her back and meowing. I put my face in her paws and fell for her. I was told she was brought in with her sister but someone had adopted her sister the previous day and it broke my heart! I knew she was coming home with me. She had been in perfect health up until a couple months ago. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her- She was urinating blood and crying persistently. The vets tried different medications and nothing worked- so we did an X-Ray and found a massive stone blocking her bladder. After spending massive amounts of money and visits and testing- we were given the surgery estimate and it devastated me. I’d already blown through my saving for my own oral surgery on her vet visits/testing/medications/xrays..and then found out she needs this surgery that I just can’t afford. I’ve tried every avenue and I’m just hoping that someone out there feels Ozzys pain and if they were able to donate ANYTHING it would help save her life. She’s just a baby, and she’s my best friend. She’s always with me and I’d do anything I could for her. She started out life in a tough spot and I hate to see her in pain. For now she is on multiple medications to ease her pain and antibiotics for any infections in the bladder from the stone...but she can’t stay like this forever. If anyone out there feels they could help- we would be forever grateful.
