Scarlett

Scarlett is a 11 year old American Cocker Spaniel in Brighton, CO, who needs $5,000 for Balloon Dilation Treatment.

Brighton, CO

I was nine years old, my Mom got her up in Wyoming as a gift because I fell in love with her online. We’ve been together for 11 years, she is 11 years old. And she has been with me through it all, when both of my parents passed away, when we had to move, through elementary, middle school, high school, through college and so on. She is and will forever be my best friend. She has had a lot of problems but always got through them, and she still acts like a puppy. At the moment she had a dental surgery gone wrong, and she got a stricture in her throat which had closed up her throat to 6mm. I knew something was wrong with her throat, but no one believed me. Until one did finally. And now she is getting multiple balloon dilation treatments. She is my best friend, though she does love a bunch of others. She is a huge fan of toys and will roll onto her back so she can hold her toy in her paws, she also loves rolling on her ball, it’s so adorable. She is also one of the sweetest dogs, she has never bitten anyone unless it was self defense or playfully. She has a lot of nicknames one being Wiggles because she wags her stub so often. At the moment I am going back and forth between houses and I could get kicked out, I am a college student, I have a work study job but nothing else at the moment. Also I am carpooling with my girlfriend, I do not have a working car so I would like to give back to her as well

Espeon

Espeon is a 10 year old Russian Blue in Wellington, CO, who needs $15,000 for Abdominal Surgery w/Partial Removal of Intestines.

Wellington, CO

10 years ago when my wife & son where at a animal shelter, the staff asked my family to "foster" a kitten that had been returned from a former adoption because she was a trouble maker. They were trying to get the cats adopted so they named them all after Pokemon. This little girl was named Espeon! She was a "failed" foster because she quickly became my wife's only little girl in the house of boys. Espeon was seen at a Vet, we spent more than we had & were told she needed a hospital. We took her to Colorado State University & after a quick look & testing we were told she had blockages from her stomach to her intestines. They attempted to unblock it but determined she needs extensive, expensive lifesaving surgery. She's scheduled for tomorrow & we do not have the money. Admitted 3 days ago. When Espeon came home 10 years ago, she went into a house of boys. 2 older males about 5yrs old at the time. She quickly became the queen of the house and became my wifes little girl. When the boys would be sick, she would always tend to them with kisses and licks! She always sensed any stress in the house and would would be glued to the side of whomever was going through something. We just mourned the loss of "Flash", Espeon's brother & my wifes mom just passed away. I have been diagnosed with a Aortic Aneurysm & lost my job. We are in financial ruin but this little fur baby is the most important member of our family. We cannot lose my wife's lil girl!

Photo of Atlas

Atlas

Atlas is a 5 month old Labrador Retriever in Castle Pines, CO, who needs $10,200 for Balloon Valvuloplasty.

Castle Pines, CO

Writing this is harder than I ever expected, because asking for help has never come easily to me. But today, I’m asking on behalf of a little life that has already meant more to me than words can capture. When we brought Atlas home at just eight weeks old, we knew there was a strong chance he had a congenital heart condition called Tricuspid Valve Dysplasia. A sibling of his has the same condition, and caring for that dog for the past year and a half has taught me what it truly means to love and commit to a special-needs puppy. I understood the challenges, the uncertainty, and the potential heartbreak of having two dogs with potentially shortened lifespans — but we chose Atlas anyway, without hesitation. No matter how his story might unfold, loving him and giving him a home was never a question. From the beginning, my goal has always been simple: to give these pups the absolute best life possible, no matter how long or short that life may be. On December 15th, when Atlas was just over five months old, we met with a cardiologist expecting confirmation of what we already suspected. After completing the echocardiogram, she confirmed the Tricuspid Valve Dysplasia diagnosis. While difficult, we felt prepared — it was something we knew could be managed with medication and diet as this had already been our new normal for over a year with our other pup. Unfortunately after giving us that diagnosis she paused, looked at us, and said there was also “something else.” Atlas was also diagnosed with Cor Triatriatum Dexter, an extremely rare congenital heart defect that affects only about 0.3% of dogs with heart disease. This condition means a membrane is dividing the right atrium of his heart, restricting normal blood flow. Without treatment, pressure would continue to build, leading to painful fluid accumulation in his abdomen and chest. Over time, this would mean repeated fluid draining just to keep him comfortable — or ultimately making the devastating decision to let him go to spare him from suffering. The hopeful part of this story is that there is a treatment. Specialists at Colorado State University have recommended a balloon valvuloplasty, a minimally invasive procedure that can break through the membrane and restore proper blood flow. If successful, it would give Atlas the chance to live a comfortable, semi-active life without the pain and complications this condition would otherwise cause. We fully intended to take responsibility for Atlas’s care. However, the rarity of this diagnosis and the highly specialized nature of the procedure have made this far more overwhelming than we could have anticipated. The hardest part is knowing that without this surgery, the future isn’t uncertain — it’s unfair to a puppy who is otherwise happy, playful, and just beginning to experience the world. Atlas doesn’t know he’s sick. He knows toys, belly rubs, naps, playing with his sisters, and the kind of whole-body wagging joy that fills every room he enters. Knowing there is a real chance to help him makes it impossible for me not to try.

Harley

Harley is a 10 Year Old Pug in Milliken, CO, Who Needs $2,000 for Jaw Surgery.

Milliken, CO

I’ve had Harley since the day he was born, and for the past 10 years, he’s been so much more than just a loyal companion—he’s been my heart, my comfort, and my constant source of love. Harley has stood by me through some of the hardest times in my life. When everything else felt uncertain, he was always there—faithful, gentle, and full of love. He’s been my partner through thick and thin. My love. I recently went out of town overnightand left my baby with our dog sitter. After I picked him up, I noticed that he was unable to open his mouth all the way. After an emergency vet visit and a follow up visit with his primary vet, they found that he has a fractured jaw. He needs surgery as soon as possible. If it heals wrong, he won't be able to open his mouth. Harley loves his sleep! He loves naps and bedtime the most! He loves to make friends at the dog park. His favorite toy is his monkey. He loves to give cuddles at every opportunity. I am recently battling my own health issues and I am currently out of work on medical leave. Harley is the only thing that I have in this world. He has been there for me through everything and now I really need to be there for him through this. I need my boy healthy again!

Blue

Blue is a 6 year old Siberian Husky in Montrose, CO, who needs $2,000 for MRI, Spinal Tap, Diagnostics to Determine Treatment.

Montrose, CO

Blue came into my life when I met my soon to be husband about 4 years ago. Blue lives on our 4 acre rental property with her brother Ryder. Blue brings a sense of adventure, unquestionable love and the ability to steal anyone heart within seconds. She has one of the most fun personalities you could ask for in a dog. 3 weeks ago Blue developed a limp in her front limb. With vets unable to determine why she was lame, her condition progressed into critical. Blue is currently staying at CSU Vet Hospital in Fort Colins undergoing tests to determine what is wrong, as many vets have not been able to diagnose. The Vets are hopeful to find answers, tho we worry what the diagnose will entail. I wish to everyone they find a dog like Blue at least once in their life. Not only a companion but a true best friend. Her sense of adventure, love for everyone, and ability to act exactly how you need. She is more than a pet but a living guardian angel. With eyes that make you melt, a heart that heals within seconds. She is more than a dog, she is a whole spirit of joy, love, care and happiness. While living in Colorado, dealing with high prices of rentals and the vet bills we have encoutered. Every day you can see the life Blue has still, we cant let that go. Blue deserves more years of life. She shows you, she wants to live and adventure more.

Meadow

Meadow is a 7 year old Australian Shepherd in Golden, CO, who needs $2,000 for MRI - Orthopedic Treatments.

Golden, CO

December of 2017 I met the doggy love of my life. I stepped out of winters cold wind and into a coffee shop with my two little girls. We saw a young lady holding the most gorgeous puppy. My heart exploded and I just fell in love with this beautiful little red Merle. My girls asked permission to pet the puppy. The kind woman informed us she was available for adoption. My Meadow is in pain and it’s breaking my heart. She needs testing to determine what is going on with her low back and right hind limb. An MRI has been suggested to see soft tissue, nerves, and get a better diagnosis. We can also try physical therapy for building up strength and conditioning. Meadow is struggling with lower lumbar pain. Meadow is an Aussie. She loves being active. To see her decline a play session or walk is breaking my heart. This has been going on for awhile. I have exhausted my resources. We now need the MRI to determine the source of the issue. My husband has Severe Hemophilia A. That is a genetic bleeding disorder. He needs an ankle replacement. My oldest daughter is in her Senior Year of High School. My youngest daughter had a medical issue in December and spent two weeks in the Hospital. The savings are gone.

Rollie

Rollie is a 7 year old Mix-Breed in Arvada, CO, who needs $2,000 for Carboplatin for OSA.

Arvada, CO

Currently, Rollie and I live in a modest, pet-friendly home in Colorado. I recently graduated as a student and am living in the United States on a visa. While I am working hard to build a stable future, my financial resources are extremely limited as I am not yet employed. Rollie’s daily routine includes lots of affection, short walks to accommodate his recovery, and quality time together at home. Rollie, my six-year-old Cane Corso/Great Dane mix (Daniff), was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in December 2023. He underwent a front leg amputation on December 18, 2023, at Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital to manage pain and stop the cancer's spread. His care team recommends six rounds of chemotherapy to prevent recurrence. This treatment is critical, but costs are overwhelming Rollie is a gentle, loving Cane Corso and Great Dane mix who brightens every room he enters. His calm demeanor and affectionate nature make him a favorite among everyone he meets. He’s incredibly loyal, protective, and always there to provide comfort during tough times. Rollie bonds deeply with family, offering endless love and companionship, making him truly one of a kind. As a recent graduate living in the U.S. on a visa, I have limited financial resources and no family support. Rollie’s amputation and six rounds of chemotherapy are overwhelming. Having him healthy again means everything—he’s my family, best friend, and source of strength.

Remi

Remi is a 6 year old Mix-Breed in Walsenburg, CO, who needs $2,000 for Amputation of (R) Rear Leg.

Walsenburg, CO

Hello, I’m Mike Ward, and I’m writing desperately seeking help for my boy, Remi, whom I rescued from an industrial area in Miami along with his brother Rico 7 years ago. I wasn’t looking for a dog much less two. These guys were two little puppies someone had abandoned and were in bad shape, knowing they wouldn’t make it much longer there, I brought them back to Colorado with me. Best decision ever CSU evaluated Remi for a bleeding wound occurring at the site of a previously amputated digit (toe). On presentation, Remi was bright, alert, and responsive, and his vitals were within normal limits. On physical examination, the wound on Remi's right hind leg was bleeding, and a lot of discharge (pus) indicating a deep infection. He also had a mildly enlarged lymph node & has Squamous Cell Remi & I have had a unique bond since day 1, I don't how to explain it but it's something more, Remi is very friendly and is always happy. Lately he's been depressed because he doesn't understand what's happening, & his brother, Rico, is totally stressed out, they don't understand the severity of this horrible nightmare situation. They both are like my kids and I would give anything for them On 4/17/24, I was let go when the new company took over at Spanish Peaks hospital. The unemployment hasn't come through yet, as I'm still waiting to be approved. I've exhausted my savings, & maxed out my credit cards trying to save Remi's foot and leg. I would give anything

Delilah

Delilah is a 1-year-old Aussie Doodle in Denver, CO, who needs $2,000 for Reconstructive Jaw Surgery.

Denver, CO

Delilah is the sweetest and most resilient dog. She was found abandoned in a rural area of New Mexico at just three months old with a severe deformity - her jaw doesn't open or close properly due to abuse she suffered as a puppy. Because of this terrible mistreatment, Delilah's condition is now life-threatening and requires urgent medical attention. She struggles to breathe through her nose, leaving her with limited airway through her mouth. This means she can't regulate her body temperature, which has landed her in the ER more than once. "Delilah loves life, and playing in the snow is her favorite thing to do. She also sleeps standing up! Her quirky face has brought such joy to everyone," her human mom, Angelina tells Waggle. Angelina wasn't prepared for the financial burden of trying to save her life. "It's hard enough dealing with the emotional toll of seeing my dog in pain, but the financial burden is crushing." The vet bills have quickly piled up within just a few months of rescuing her. Your contribution can make a huge difference in this sweet pup's life, helping her overcome her struggles and live her best life possible.
