Moonlight
Moonlight is a 10 year old Golden Retriever in West Hartford , CT, who needs $1,500 for Bladder Issues and Spay.
West Hartford, CT
She lives in a home with my parents and I, she goes outside a lot, goes for walks, we play with her. She has a balanced diet and drinks plenty of water. She roams around the house and sleeps wherever she wants whether it’s the living room, my room, parents room or the extra rooms. She has toys, fed two big meals a day. She has bad allergies, to the point she would scab a lot, we’ve taken care of it, with medications but there was known issues with the batch she was bred in. All of the puppies she was born with had the same issues. Currently she isn’t fix, which we are told after using a lot of money on visits and medication for her current bladder issues and not eating, losing rapid weight. She was perfect from the start, she has so much energy and never required a leash the first day we took her home she followed me every where. She is so smart and vocal and playful. She’s like a human at times and just as this personality you don’t often with dogs. She so attached to us and wherever we go she goes. We have spent a lot of money on vest, we recently lost a dog in August he was 11 years old and a German shepherded. We spent money on medication, visits, emergency visits. But stopped taking her pills stopped eating and we just are tight on money due to jobs, and no busines

Weston
Weston is a 12 year old American Shorthair in Newington, CT, who needs $7,900 for Foreign Object Removal.
Newington, CT
Weston used to be spy until he was burned. Named after the character Michael Weston from Burn Notice, as it was one of my favorite shows and I was so sad after watching the last epiosde. Weston is Justin and I's first furbaby. We rescued him the year we got married and purchased our first home. We were so happy to have him join our family and he made our house feel like a home. Our young daughter received a present for making frienship bracelets with beads and elastic string. She went to her room, to keep this item out of harms way as no animals typically enter her room. Unfortuntely Weston, chose this moment to go stealth mode and ingest the top secret and highly dangerous elastic string. This caused a blockage in his small intestines requiring emergency surgery. Weston is a really special Cat. He is so social and friendly. He was affectionately referred to as our cat-dog in his younger years. When our son was learning to walk, being able to play with Weston motivated him to work on his balance and speed. He would run around the house with a measuring ribbon as Weston chased him. Weston never batted anyone with his claws out. This year has been challenging as we went from a double income family to a single income family. We have made a lot of sacrifices to be able to continue to provide for our family, and we couldn't bear to part with our animal.

Charlie
Charlie is a 7 year old American Shorthair in Hartford, CT, who needs $1,254 for Linear Object Removal.
Hartford, CT
Charlie came into my life in 2018 after my previous furbaby passed at 18 years old. He's a domestic shorthair. Very shy but when he gets used to you he's really sweet. Charlie was admitted to the ER at CT Veterinary Center on 2/12 due to eating yarn. Was left overnight while they ran tests including bloodwork, & X-rays. Was released on Saturday due to not eating enough for bowel movement. Had to be sent back to the ER because he had no bowel movement for 2 days was told if no movement happened, surgery would be the next step. 1st visit cost me $3,500. Charlie has helped me through the grieving process after losing my previous furbaby Brian & brings so much joy & comfort to my life every day. He's so goofy, & makes me laugh. He means the world to me. I'm working as a caregiver for my mother, but the money I earn is not enough to cover all expenses. If Charlie requires surgery I was told that my estimate can be up to $8,000. I want to see his energy come back.

Butter
Butter is a 3 year old American Shorthair in Hartford, CT, who needs $4,000 for C-section.
Hartford, CT
My pet came into my life as a baby. The people had too many cats and didn’t know what to do when their cat gave birth, but has been part of the family for a while. She’s three years now she’s very loved and is still loving animal. I could really use the hope and saving her life. She means everything to us. I really need help and saving her. She had one they were born in two stuck in birth canal I’m trying to cure the problem. I’ve gone to the vet and I spend it 400 and something giving her some type of medication to induce her labor. Nothing has happened. They’re asking for $4000 to do a C-section. I don’t even have nothing close to that I could really use help with saving her life. She means everything towards us. She does not deserve to be put down because of this issue. It’s not like Butters is very sweet very connecting. She’s not an aggressive animal. She’s very loving she is. I cannot explain how beautiful and peaceful. She is adorable never aggressive. Love the family when I come home. She’s already waiting at the door for me and I’m used to.that he is my emotional support. I suffer from anxiety and emotional issues. I am working a minimum wage job. My rent is expensive in my bills. I have no one I do everything on my own. All I have is my cat and I’m not even close to even having enough money to save. She does not deserve to be put down over having two babies stuck. She’s healthy.

Mya
Mya is a 1 year old Yorkshire Terrier in West Hartford, CT, who needs $1,800 for Radiology Initial Study, Medicine, CBC/Chemistry,.
West Hartford, CT
Our sweet pup came into our lives at just three months old—right when my nine-year-old son was struggling and needed a loyal friend. She’s been our sunshine ever since: playful, gentle, and full of love. Suddenly, she fell ill and now needs urgent medical care. We bought her from a puppy store, never expecting this heartbreak. She’s family—please help us give her the chance she deserves. Our beloved dog suddenly began vomiting blood and having black diarrhea. We rushed her to Connecticut Veterinary Center hospital —tests looked normal, but she needs X-rays to find what’s wrong inside. She hasn’t eaten and we’re terrified. This came out of nowhere, and we’re desperate for answers and hope to see her playful spirit return. She’s more than a pet—she’s family. So human-like, she “talks” with her eyes and little sounds, letting us know exactly what she wants. Her intelligence and warmth bring joy wherever she goes, especially to my son, who adores her. She loves being outdoors, exploring nature, and never leaves her special blanket behind—she spreads it out before resting. Every morning, This sudden illness has brought unexpected expenses we can’t handle alone. Her care will cost over $2,000, and it’s only the beginning of what she may need. We’re desperate to see her healthy again—without treatment, I fear the worst. Your support means everything to us.

Hermione and Harry Potter
Hermione and Harry Potter are 5 year old Mix-Breeds in West Hartford, CT, who need $1,000 for Ringworm Care and Full Vetting.
West Hartford, CT
Harry Potter and littermate Hermione were friendly cats dumped into a feral cat colony in Hartford, fed by caring feeders. It became evident recently that Harry Potter's nose wound was bloody, infected, spreading and worsening fast. If he didn't get medical care, he wasn't going to make it. Marla's Community Medical Fund for strays at Connecticut Veterinary Center got right to fundraising to cover his care: he had a severe bacterial infection that was cultured to determine what bacteria it was, and to rule out cancer; and he was also anemic. While the vet sedated him to address his wounds, he was neutered, SNAP tested and fully vetted. He made a good recovery, but unfortunately, once he entered his rescue, he was exposed to Parvo. He was brought right back into the vet's office for medical boarding and observation, and a distemper booster. Costs mounted again quickly. During the observation period, Harry tested positive for Parvo and had developed diarrhea. Thankfully, his symptoms didn't worsen; diarrhea responded to Metronidazole, and over time resolved. Simultaneously, rescuers thought Hermione may have had Ringworm. She was brought i through Marla's fund to rule this out (thankfully), but slide-based cultures were costly. While there she had all her vetting except spay, as she wasn't fully done nursing. Harry is fully recovered, his nose has healed; Hermione just got spayed and is recovering. But their balance remains. Funds are needed to pay down the balance leftover from Harry Potter's extended and unexpected vet stay & Hermione's spay, distemper booster, and overnight recovery at the vet.

Ventana
Ventana is a 6 month old Mix-Breed in West Hartford, CT, who needs $1,100 for IV Antibiotics, Syringe Feeds, Supportive Care.
West Hartford, CT
Rescuer MyBellaTNR contacted me with a desperate plea to send sweet, friendly 6 month old Ventana to the ER where I started a Community Medical Fund for ownerless cats/dogs to get life saving medical care. She'd suddenly stopped eating, vomited, & wasn't herself. It was dire. Something was seriously wrong. Shortly after admission, we found out what that something was. Parvo. Aka paneleukemia Poor Ventana is fighting for her life due to Parvo in the isolation room at Connecticut Veterinary Center, West Hartford. She's on IV fluids, multiple strong antibiotics to treat UTI, diarrhea. vomiting. Her white blood cells are virtually non existent & her temperature hit 106 at its highest. Despite her disease, she appears bright & alert, meowing for attention & love She's being syringe fed Ventana came to the rescuers attention when she heard that she was climbing up windows of people's homes in Hartford. Trying to get in. So she got the name Ventana ("Window" in Spanish). She's sweet. Friendly. Loves attention and petting. And didn't deserve this life threatening illness. Only 20-25% of kittens survive Parvo. My community medical fund gives strays a chance for life-saving care Ventana is in the care of MyBellaTNR rescue. They sought the help of my Community Medical Fund because they are drowning in vet bills & couldn't afford to treat Ventana without my fund. She needs supportive care in the ICU until she's out of the woods. Could be weeks. Urgent: Donations still needed for Ventana. Ventana beat the odds and survived Parvo as a kitten, but is now experiencing severe diarrhea from Coccidia, most likely from an opportunistic infection from Parvo ravaging her GI tract. The added costs due to meds for diarrhea, fecal samples and recheck of fecal in 2 weeks to ensure the meds are working- have made her balance difficult to pay off. We're close and could really use your help! She was recently well enough to be spayed which was also very important! Thank you for your support.

Shona
Shona is a 7 month old Samoyed in New Britain, CT, who needs $2,000 for Foreign Body Blockage that Requires Surgery.
New Britain, CT
I brought Shona into my home early March of this year. She has an older brother, Nollaig (not blood related) who I brought into my home in December 2023. These two are peas in a pod and all together our family is complete. She is at Connecticut Veterinary Center with a foreign body blockage. Initially they thought it would pass naturally so discharged her the next day. Then she became even more ill so she was brought back. Rather than passing naturally, it seems she now requires surgery as things moved and changed. Shona is not only my best friend but also a best friend to her brother. My niece absolutely adores her and my mom loves her as her own grand-baby. Shona is a feisty yet sweet ball of energy. She's got her own personality and attitude. Everyone who meets her falls in love because she is just the sweetest thing to strangers This is a completely unexpected event. I have a card where it was used for emergencies however since she had been admitted two times in a two day span the financial burden has hit very hard. I'm the only financial support for her and her brother

Koba
Koba is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in West Hartford, CT, who needs $2,000 for Recovery from Brutal Wild Animal Attack.
West Hartford, CT
Koba was the victim of a brutal attack by a wild animal, after he got out of his home accidentally. His owner (who has since surrendered him), found him laying in the yard the following morning, bleeding from deep, life threatening bite wounds. Owner reached out for help to someone who knew of my community cat medical fund I started at my vets office to help strays get urgent medical care. Koba got life saving surgery at Connecticut Veterinary Center. Owner surrendered Koba & my medical fund has been whats made his survival possible. He is recovering amazingly well: eating, standing up, fever gone, drains and bandages removed & rescues are reviewing his file for intake. He is friendly & loving despite this trauma. But the balance remains - and Koba needs your help to pay it down Despite this horrific wild animal attack, Koba is a fighter with a strong will to live. He purrs when held by staff, headbutts the staff, is a pure love! And takes his daily meds like a champ! He beat the odds & made it! As his temporary owner I'm trying to find the perfect rescue for him where he can safely heal & get a fresh start in his forever home- indoors. I'm funding Koba's bill myself through public donations to my community cat medical fund at my vets office - Connecticut Veterinary Center. His wounds were way more extensive than imagined & I'd be so grateful for support to pay down the balance ♡

Princess
Princess is a 7 year old Chihuahua in New Britain. , CT, who needs $2,000 for Pyometra.
New Britain., CT
Princess came in our life when we were young around 18 year old. She been our only dog since recently of last year when we got her a little sister named Bella. Princess been a healthy dog till now that she has pyometra on June 18. We recently went to the Connecticut veterinary center on June 18 and she was diagnosed with pyometra. Unfortunately they quoted us about 8k for her surgery. We cannot afford to pay all that right now since we are having on second baby on September of 2024. Princess is very special to us as she is attached to our one year old son which they play together. Also with have another chihuahua named Bella which they are like best friend. We are worry if something happen to her our other dog is going to get depressed because they are so close to each other. It been really hard for us because our dog is part of our family and is really well loved. Right now we are expecting a baby on September 2024 as those expenses for the baby plus having a one year old it could be a lot. It will be a lot for us to have our princess back to normal and pain free.

Sushi
Sushi is a 1-year-old Domestic Short Hair Cat in Bristol, CT, who needs $1,250 for Diagnostic Testing to Determine Problem.
Bristol, CT
This is my Sushi. He came into my life at 7 1/2 weeks old. Got him from a woman who had a litter of kittens she couldn’t keep any of them. I actually took in his sister as well so he wouldn’t be lonely while I was at work so I have 2 fur babies. He loves to play fight with his sister and is also very affectionate and friendly. A VERY healthy appetite lol. He’s my big boy. Loves my son as well and gets excited when he comes home to visit. Loves to be brushed. He can be shy when new people come around at times but he warms up eventually. Loves to sit at the window and watch the birds fly by. He has a favorite mouse toy I bought him he can’t get enough of. Although I can’t understand him, he talks to me all the time. Although sometimes I think he’s yelling at me when I’ve been gone all day at work lol. He’s been sick the last 3 days. Vomiting and can’t keep anything down. Not his playful self. I took him to an emergency vet and all I could afford was an initial visit of $175. They wanted to do diagnostic testing but all together the estimate was just over $1200 and I couldn’t afford that and his sister is sick as well so I don’t have over $2400 in order to treat both. I don’t have any savings and recently had to do some unexpected car repairs so any extra money I had aside is gone. I live paycheck to paycheck most of the time. I’m a one income household.

Sam
Sam is a 13-year-old DLH Cat in Hartford, CT, who needs $2,000 for Diabetic Ketoacidosis and Pancreatitis.
Hartford, CT
Sam is a rescue cat. He showed up to my house one day...starving, emaciated, sick, and very scared. I immediately took him in and started getting him friendly and rehabbing him. He was very sick at the time with eye infections, bronchitis, and he had severe oral dental disease. Nevertheless, I nursed him back to health and he is considered "my baby." I love him so much ❤️ we're so close now! Sam is one of the popular cats in the household. All the other cats always congregate around him and Sam just eats it all up..by head butting all of them on return! Thats the way he shows his love for us..human and cat alike. When i lean my face towards his, he immediately comes towards my forehead and head butts me and starts purring. Sam is the most friendly, kind, and gentle cat you ever want tomeet Sam is so snuggly. In the winter he has to lay on his heated blanket and in the summer he has to find a sunny spot on the porch to lie down and take a nap. He also loves snugging with all his other furry friends in the house. Sam was diagnosed with diabetes in 2020. He was able to get his sugar under control and live a normal life up to now. About a month ago Sam was very lethargic and not himself, and so I took him to the vet and his sugar was down to 30! He almost died. He had to be admitted in the hospital for a couple of days. Then fast forward to this week, Sam was admitted for diabeticketoacidosis and pancreatitis. Sam needs to have a feeding tube temporarily in order for his pancreas to heal and for him to regain his strength. Furthermore, his bill right now is over $6,000 and I cannot afford it. With all of his recent admit stays and my other 10 rescue cats, I cannot afford this bill

Neo
Neo is a 14-year-old Shi Tzu in Glastonbury, CT, who needs $1,500 for Diagnosis and Treatment.
Glastonbury, CT
We took Neo in when a family friend could no longer care for him. He has some back issues but he doesn't let it stop him from going out on nice walks. He may be an old man but he always had the energy of a puppy to this day. Neo is the only pet in the household, so he always gets all the attention he asks for. Neo has a miniature sofa for his bed that is located in the living room. He is always snuggled up with his two favorite blankets with usually one dragging behind him when he wakes up from a nap. With the patio door being near by, Neo loves to people watch but recently he has gotten into watching the turkeys outside. He is more of a home body but when the weather is nice out, he will be out there. Neo has been with me since I was in middle school and we both have grown to have similar tendencies. We love to sit on the deck when the weather is just right and people watch or go for a walk around the neighborhood. When its cold out, we prefer to stay inside and snuggle up with a blanket. One of Neo's blankets was mine at one point but he kept stealing it wether in mine or his bed. Neo is very picky when it comes to seeing the doctor but he has found one in West Hartford, CT. With Neo aging, he has developed stones that have caused him to constantly drink water and use the bathroom. With a surgery it could help Neo be more comfortable and be able to sleep through the night with out having to get up. I am currently only working part time, finishing up an unpaid internship and in school. With little income, it is difficult for me to get the care my dog needs so he can continue living his best life.

King
King is a 2-year-old Yorkie in Hartford, CT, who needs $2,000 for Diagnosis and Treatment .

Always doing flips when he sees me excited to be loved. A true joy to everyone who meets him. He is a very happy dog He is very happy. Always greeting you. He practically does flips when he sees you. He jumps very high with excitement. Very happy and loved by everyone. He is always happy and loves to go on walks. He loves kids and thinks he is everyone's guard dog. He is truly the joy of our family and want him to get better soon. My King is very special, he came to me at a time when I needed him the most and has completely filled my life with joy and happiness. I love him so much. He has been our happiness during a very hard time. We are dealing with family health issues as well and King really helped us to overcome that situation a bit better A few days ago he stopped being the excited bouncing puppy he's always been. He's been laying around whining and having a hard time breathing and heartbeat is very fast. He was seen at CT veterinary center where we were given an estimate of 4500 for tests. Either that, euthanize or relinquish rights. I can't part with my baby but I can't see him suffering 😭 I'm currently having financial difficulties and was not expecting such a high estimate to see what is wrong with my dog. How did this happen overnight? Need my dog to get better

Lola
Lola is a 12-year-old Longhair Chihuahua in Westfield, MA, who needs $2,000 for treatment for seizures and diagnostic testing.
Westfield, MA
I rescued Lola 11 years ago from a couple that were divorcing and planned on putting her to sleep because she was not socialized and was a fear biter. She has been through broken relationships, moves, hard times, happy times, all of life’s ups and downs. She wasn’t with me Whole i was growing up and is my rock, confidante, best friend. She means everything to me. I was given a choice to put her to sleep or fix her. It wasnt ever a choice. She is not in pain, she is not suffering, she is sick and has a chance to live many more years. Giving up was never a choice. She never gave up on loving me, or being there with a wagging tail when i got home, and soft fur to cry into when i needed her. Letting her go Isn’t an option unless she is suffering or her life will be pain. Never.

Monty
Monty is a Lab-Boxer mix in Plainville, CT, who needs $2,000 for the treatment of parvovirus.
Plainville, CT
We were looking for a puppy for my eight year old daughter Mia, as we told her once we bought a house we could get another dog. We just bought our first home in November. We named Monty after the town my husband and I recently honeymooned in. My eight year old is very attached to her new puppy, she was so excited to celebrate Christmas with him. We have a lab/Newfoundland mix that has taken in the role of Monty 's big brother.
