Cow

Cow is a 3 month old American Staffordshire Terrier in Akron, , who needs $10,930 for Balloon Valvuloplasty.

Akron

This cute 16 week old munchkin named Cow, came from a breeder. He was being sold as a perfectly healthy little puppy, but upon taking him to the vet (VCA animal hospital) it was discovered this little guy had a level 5/6 heart murmur and further testing would be needed. He had a busy couple weeks going to the emergency room for x-rays, and having an echocardiogram done @metrovethospital. He is diagnosed with pulmonary stenosis which is a condition of the heart that will require a balloon valvuloplasty surgery. This surgery will open a valve in his heart so the blood can flow through the correct way. If left untreated this condition will cause congestive heart failure very soon. He has a surgery scheduled for August 26th @metrovethospital. Cow is the sweetest little puppy who reminds me more of a little kitten than a dog. He has an older brother and they are inseparable. As he gets older, he wants so badly to run around with zoomies and do all the cute things puppies do, but I was given instructions to keep him very calm until the surgery, so no more damage is done to his heart. I have taken Cow to about 5 different appointments. Now I am faced with a $10,000 surgery. Our little family would be devasted without him. He brings us so much joy with his silliness and compassion. There are so many things this little guy has not experienced.

Charlie

Charlie is a 3 year old Siamese in Youngstown, OH, who needs $1,400 for Urinary Obstruction Catheterization.

Youngstown, OH

We brought Charlie and his brother Leo home about three years ago from New mexico. They were abandoned and we wanted to make sure they had a good home. I mean who could resist such a sweet and loving cat like him! Charlie was taken to the vet a few days ago because we noticed he was having some trouble going to the bathroom. He was treated for a uti but last night things took a turn for the worse as he was walking like he was in pain and uncomfortable. Today we took him to the emergency and was told he has a urinary blockage. We were told the cost to treat him was going to be 1400. Even though we have three cats in the house Charlie is everyone's favorite, hes so loving and affectionate with everyone. His favorite toys are the springs, we throw them and he plays fetch with us! He loves going outside and rolling around in the fresh grass and loves having his treats every morning, if you are not up by 6 to give him his treats he is in bed nudging your face to wake up. My fiance is currently in between jobs and we are financially strapped. We have exhausted every option possible to try and save our dear Charlie. Losing Charlie would be a major heartbreak for not only myself and my fiance but our son who's 9 and our daughter who is 6

Wilbert

Wilbert is a 10 year old Mix-Breed in Cleveland, OH, who needs $6,500 for Liver Lobectomy.

Cleveland, OH

Wilbert came unexpectedly into our lives about 5 years after the passing of our beloved Albert, a yellow lab. He was a rescue being fostered by a friend. He was only 5 weeks old and my friend allowed us to care for him over a weekend, and that was all it took. He was so calm, so loyal following us everywhere and always sitting as close as possible. Love at first sight. Wilbert is so energetic even at 10 years old. He loves long walks and playing. You would never know by looking at him the difficulties he has with his diet, protein absorption and Irritable Bowel Syndrome that requires a very specific, expensive diet that includes special enzymes, B-12 injections and multiple medications just to try and maintain him. Wilbert loves to talk and is very vocal. He plays, leaps, runs, skids still just like a puppy. He is a cozy snuggler that always finds his way to be close with us but he also has extended family that he enjoys visiting and always gets excited when we mention his name. Wilbert is a mix part boxer/pit bull and rottweiler. We heard all the negativity about this pit breed and he destroyed that myth. My wife and I have spent 10's of thousands on Wilbert's special care over his lifetime (as we did with our Albert before him that also needed numerous surgeries) We both worked and it was never a difficult decision. We now are both retired and on a fixed income.

Leonard is a 6 year old Mix-Breed in Olmsted township , OH, who needs $1,600 for Endoscopy with Biopsy.

Olmsted township, OH

Ive worked in vet medicine for 8 years and always took in orphaned bottle feeders/criticals, I took in Leonard and his two sisters from over 30 cats who were very sick, he is now six years old and my first foster failure. He has four kitty and one k9 sibling, all who are very bonded with him and inseparable. He is deaf be he has no idea his world is different, his name came from of mice and men. For about six month lennybstarted showing pretty bad intestinal issues, diarrhea gas cramping blood in feces. I tried every prescription food and IBD medication before I finally had the ability to get him into the specialist at metropolitan veterinary hospital, this is where they suspect that Leonard has lymphoma cancer. I just need one more additional test done to confirm before chemo is started. during a very low time in my life my father had suddenly passed away and it was devastating to me, I could not get out of bed or function. Having to care and treat for Lenny created a bond so deep between us that I learned to open my heart again. With out him I never would've grown from my father death and hes helped me save hundreds more kittens from then on. They will not do the other test or treat lenny until I pay off my bill, i was not able to use my all pet card, so it left an outstanding balance i was not financially ready for. I have six other animals and max'd carecredit and no other platform to use so anything will help

Elton came into my life after my dad passed in 2021. My mom and I needed companionship and Elton helped up in ways we didn't know were possible. This little guy is our whole world. Our family dog, Elton, is extremely sick right now. He is currently admitted at the Metropolitan Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Akron. I've never experienced this before with a pet, but this is one of the hardest thing l've gone through so far. They aren't sure the cause his sickness, but he is admitted in the ICU. Elton is the most loving, playful, and compassionate dog. He absolutely loves and adores everyone. Everyone that meets him falls in love with him. He is such a positive light. I would do anything to have Elton healthy again. He has only been hospitalized for one night and I have already spent $4,500. We are finding out in the morning if he needs surgery, costing another $5,000- $7,000. I've drained my savings account and this is just the beginning

Luna

Luna is a 2 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Norton, OH, who needs $2,000 for Laryngeal Tie-Back Surgery.

Norton, OH

Luna, affectionately known as Lulu, came into our lives as a rescue at just 4 weeks old. We bottle-fed and weaned her ourselves. She'll turn 3 on July 7th and lives in a loving home with me, my 2-year-old son, my 10-year-old nephew, my mom, and our other two dogs. Lulu and my son have grown up together and share an incredibly special, unbreakable bond. Luna is facing a life-threatening emergency. She has laryngeal paralysis and struggles to breathe on her own. Any excitement can cause her airway to collapse, so we have to keep her sedated around the clock to keep her alive. She urgently needs surgery, which we plan to have done at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital. We're doing all we can to keep her stable until then. Luna is full of energy and personality - a total wild girl in the best way. She's playful, a little dramatic, and always keeps us on our toes. She's extremely attached to me and follows me everywhere I go - definitely a Mommy's girl. She also has a deep love for our other dogs and is always cuddling or playing with them. Her love is loyal, intense, and so special. Luna's surgery is estimated at $6,000-$7,000. We were approved for $4,000 through CareCredit, but we're struggling to cover the rest. Keeping her sedated at home has been physically and mentally exhausting. Luna's recovery would bring peace back into our home.

He currently has 8 doggy brothers and sisters, many of them coming to us from shelters or as pets that's their owner could no longer care for. He also has 3 kitty siblings, also all rescues. Winston is currently at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Akron, OH. He was transfered there on referral from our primary vet after learning he had a mucocele gallbladder obstruction. He had emergency surgery on Monday to remove the gallbladder and is currently recovering. Winston is a great dog and loved by everyone he meets. He is a typical Schnauzer that barks when he gets excited, is very loyal, and is the biggest mommy's boy. He loves his brothers and sisters, but recently lost his best buddy Trudy the Yorkie to Cushings Disease. This was an unexpected cost to our family. He have been trying to recover from the vet bills of one of our other dogs, Trudy, that had to surgery to repair an ACL, and was battling with Cushings and chronic pancreatist.

We talked on phone, when I was picking from litter, I said pick me the one that was born in the middle, and a male.. Jax is who i got! So Jax has a broken femer bone in his left rear leg. Ive been told that its a costly surgery, and i have no insurence or funds to cover such a cost. The other option would be to aputate the leg,, this is not a option for me because he, needs his leg.... and it still requires money to do this also.. Jax is a very social dog, very friendly and has lots of energy. He is also a tough dog, even with his broken leg he still wants to play and run around. I just shake my head in disbelief, cause i know he is in very bad pain but wont make a sound about it. So Im on a fixed income, SSI disability. I recenty was suppost to have a knee replacement myself, but Ive had to postpone this because Jax needs to get better first,, both of us cant be laid up with bad legs,, cant wait to see him play again.

Cleveland Heights, OH

About two years ago, my son brought home an exuberant black kitty home to me. My son named him Itachi after one of the characters in his favorite anime. Itachi has been an absolute joy since he's been a part of our family. He is so sweet and he acts like he's my protector so he is almost always within 5 feet of me, unless he is on a mouse excursion in the basement. When Itachi was 11 months old, he started having seizures and was diagnosed with epilepsy. True epilepsy is super rare in cats, so we to drive him an hour away to a neurologist. His care is expensive and we have to pay for everything out-of-pocket because he is uninsurable. We will need an MRI and bloodwork soon, but right now we just need to see the specialist for meds and new treatment plan. Itachi loves playing with his cat sister, Chloe, and harassing his dog brother, Chopper. He has served as an emotional support animal for me and he takes his job very seriously. He is a completely normal cat when he is not having seizures so he has an amazing quality of life! We have had a lot of life changes in the time since Itachi has become part of our family. We have had divorce, a death, and 2 births. We didn't anticipate having a cat with a chronic medical condition, and we don't want to lose him because his care is too expensive.

She came to me during a very hard time and I was very clingy with her and in turn we became inseparable to the point where we have separation anxiety with each other if we're apart for too long. In 2021 Luna had become a service dog after saving my life. This past week Luna had stopped drinking she refuses water outright. Where is she still tries to play and run and chase squirrels and act normal she won't drink. AKRON METROPOLITAN EMERGENCY VET had done various tests on her all of which have come back normal we can't seem to figure out what's wrong. Luna is a very sweet loving vocal dog who gets along with everything. When she sees someone or another animal that she hasn't seen before she gets excited and immediately tries to make friends with them. There's not a mean bone in her body and she means the world to me after saving my life. If it wasn't for her I probably would have been dead back in 2021, she learned how to do chest compressions To have Luna back in my life at full health again would mean more than I could ever hope to explain. Ruby came to me in 2020 from a previous bad situation. She was being fed pork fat on a regular basis and wasn’t receiving proper veterinary care. She is now living her best life with me and her sister, Sedona. On March 21st, Ruby had an episode of grand mal seizures. She had no previous seizure history. I rushed her to Metropolitan Vet Hospital and after an MRI she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. The vets told me that the only options moving forward were palliative care or radiation therapy. Ruby is only 7, she has a lot of life to live. Without treatment she has 3-4 months. Ruby is a food fiend, she will try to steal anything that you have! She really loves Mexican food. She’s also a huge cuddle bug, she loves to lay in bed or on the couch and just snuggle. She would never hurt a fly and deserves more than what she’s being given. Initial vet visits were over $5,800. Now I’m looking at radiation therapy which is looking to be over $14,000 with all associated expenses. My dogs are my world, Sedona hasn’t been acting right since Ruby started declining. I would do anything for her to be healthy again.

We brought him home at 8 weeks old. When he was little & would run, from the back he looked like a bear cub & that is why we named him Kodiak (aka Kodi) - We live in an apt on the same property we lost everything at I have an amazing daughter that has special needs. She is autistic, an eating disorder called ARFID, ADHD, PTSD, & seperation anxiety with panic attacks. I myself have had 12 brain shunt surgeries & revisions. My first brain surgery create epilepsy. Kodiak has provide comfort. He has created more physical activity & family time. Practically everywhere we go, Kodi is with us. 2-15-23 I received a call telling me our apt was on fire. That night my daughter & I lost everything. Working with a therapist, I encouraged to get Kodiak to support Angelina and I thru the healing process. Kodi helped make the "new" apt actually begin to feel like home. Helped restore hope. I am not sure when exactly his back right leg became injured. We went to sleep ok and woke up and I noticed something was off. I thought that it was a pulled muscle bc of how active he is. As the day progressed he has become worse. Where I could be the leg he was nursing, he began to not let me and keeps nipping and biting me. He can't run. He's having issues pooping bc he can't bare weight I'm a single mom on disability with no family & support system. Hi my name is Barbara and my little girls name is Jovi Hope after the band Bon Jovi and Hope because I had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. Jovi was rescued from a drug house while I was sick. She was so tiny. I remember running in the fabric store to buy fleece so she could have a warm blanket until we got everything she needed. She's an angel on earth with a heart shape on her head Jovi and I do a lot of sleeping unfortunately because I'm sick she is in and out from under the covers never know if I'm going to be greeted with a face or butt lol. She's a hugger, lays against my side with her arm around me hugs me around my neck so she can get stretches and back massage and I get a kiss. She gives me a puckered bottom lip and a little growl because she hates my cell phone. JoJo one of many nicknames is a girly girl loves her clothes. I put a dollar tree tutu on her and she loved it. She's a goofball and beyond loving very scared of thunder and a broom. She's completely white except for cow print ears and a tan heart on top of her head. We goof off a lot running around I sing and dance with her. She'll give me a weird look and growl. We have each other no one else. Jovi was hit by a car when we were checking mail. I wished it would've hit me instead. Police helped me get her in the house she was taken to the ER where she had x-rays her hip would need surgery. She was medicated and I had to take her to another ER to have an MRI and see a Neuro surgeon. She had bruising down her spine and bulging discs and needed an FHO to fix her hip. She has nerve damage and cannot walk on her own. She needs physical rehabilitation therapy. I was severely abused through breast cancer sexually assualted, abandoned and I lost the last of my family to murder. Giving her the ability to walk and play again you will also be saving my life. She lovesss going for walks and rides, and gets along well with other dogs and people. Nala always motivates me, and cheers me up any time I'm having a bad day. She is an incredible mother to her crazy daughter, Kiara. I don't know how life is going to be when one passes without the other. But hopefully, with help from crowdfunding that won't be for awhile. She deserves to keep creating more happy memories. Her medical bills in total for this are going to end up being over 10K. She has a large tumor and a hernia right on her rectum that prevents her from pooping properly. It is not cancerous, but if it doesn't get removed it will mess up her intestines and she will die from it if not put down sooner. I'm already over 5 thousand dollars into her medical procedures and diagnostics and the tumor removal is going to be 5-6K. I'm doing everything I can to help save her life, I just need something to go my way for once. Please help if you can.

Angel is a 2-year-old Siberian Husky in Medina, OH, who needs $2,000 for OCD Surgery.

Medina, OH

Angel came into our lives at 8 weeks old during COVID. She is full of love and a silly personality and still thinks she is a baby. She is a part of a pack of 4. She fully loves water and enjoys being outside. We live in a nice rural area in Ohio so she gets to enjoy the snow and the cold often. Angel in our home is number 3 out of our 4 huskies and lives to hang out and rough house with both people and the other dogs in our home. She loves to climb in your lap even though she is 72lbs lol!!! But she is still very smart and listens very well to what she is told even though it may be with alittle sas lol. Angel has alot of different personality quirks to her, being a husky she deff talks alot! She will also take her paw and smack at you when she's frustrated, she will also go lay on the couch anf bark at you if you don't come and Pet her and give her attention when she wants it! She is just full of life. ANGEL has been diagnosed with having OCD in her shoulder, which apparently normally happens in the puppy stage but not with her.. lol, they are saying the surgery will costs us 4k to 5k because it's a special surgeon that needs to do it and special tools. We have kept up on all her appointments but really didn't expect this large of an expense, we had pet insurance but its was too expensive when my hours got cut at work.

Peaches

Peaches is a 3-month-old Domestic Short Hair Kitten in Brunswick, OH, who needs $2,000 for Surgery.

Brunswick, OH

Meet Peaches, She is 13 weeks old and full of energy and love. Peaches was originally a gift from my significant other. He had found peach on facebook out of all places and when we went to go pick her up we noticed that she looked very undernorished and did not look like the kitten in the photos, let al way too young to be going home with someone. We had reported the owner but decided to keep her. Peach was bottle fed when we first brought her home, the vet estimated her to be only 9 weeks old. Peach was a very quiet kitten and would cry when left alone. Our 1 yr old cat Pipper stepped in to care for peaches. These 2 became inseparable! She got her name cat nabbing a bowl on canned peaches. I had set my bowl down to use the bathroom and when I returned there she was inside the bowl eating. Peaches is just now finding her voice and learning how to meow. Peaches LOVES to be held and cuddled with! Peaches follows her sister EVERYWHERE, always watching, playing and learning. Peaches shocked us when we noticed she likes to play fetch like a dog would. This was very strange for us to see but, fell in love with it. Who wouldn't want a cat that plays fetch and brings the toy back! One day Pipper was sitting in the window seal when peaches was sitting on the end table below the window looking up at her. Peaches then attemped to jump onto the window seal and did not make it causing her to fall. When she fell she managed to some how get her arm stuck in the vent at the baseboard causing her to fracture her elbow. She is waiting to have surgery at Metropolian vet hospital Akron Surgery cost $5,000 for her to be able to use/walk on her paw again. I am22 yr's old and work at urgent care. I am working as much as possible to prepare to return to school this fall2 further my career in medicine. I am applying $1,800 of my own & applying 4 credit cards.

Jax

Jax is a 6-year-old Mastiff in Akron, OH, who needs $2,000 for Surgery to remove blockage.

Akron, OH

Jax is a 6 yr old mastiff. He has always been one of the smartest dogs. He learned very quickly. I have had Jax since he was a puppy of 8 wks old. We purchased him to bring up the spirits of my older boxer after he lost his best friend. Chubbs was very depressed and Jax brought him back to life. He has been a bright light in our lives. Jax lives with 2 cats and 3 other dogs. He is the alpha dog and loves to play with his brothers and sister. His way of getting my attention is to come in and sit directly in front of me and stare into my eyes. He then gives me a paw to tell me he loves me. He is quite the big baby! He gets excited when we have visitors. Jax is a special dog. Very loving yet protective. He is always excited to see me when I get home from work. He is very good at home with his brothers and sister and the 2 cats. He has been by far one of the best and smartest dogs. I hate the thought of him not being able to continue to have a long and happy life. Jax decided to swallow a sock. It has caused a blockage that needs to be removed and more than likely will involve surgery. I have had some financial struggles lately that have made it near impossible for me to afford taking him to the vet or hospital to get the issue fixed. I will be taking him to Metro as he is in dire need. I had a sudden major expense involving my furnace being fixed. I am a single mom trying to my best to care for my household on 1 income. I do not wish to lose my beloved Jax. He has so much more life to give.

Annie

Annie is a 7-year-old Bluetick Coonhound in Orrville, OH, who needs $1,900 for Amputation and Chemotherapy.

Orrville, OH

Sadly, we had lost our previous Bluetick, Daisie, to cancer in the summer of 2015. She left her best buddy, Poo, behind and lonely. A couple of months later we saw Annie's picture on PetFinder and fell in love,! She reminded us so much of Daisie! Annie was a stray that had been taken to the local dog pound in West Virginia. We drove from NE OH right away, and Poo was so happy to have a new friend! Annie was a blessing to all of us. However, she was quite a challenge at first as she definitely wanted to hunt! We modified our privacy fence around the yard with add'l height because Annie could scale any fence we had with no problem to chase a squirrel, cat or anything that moved! She settled in and became a very spoiled housedog. She did not know what toys were but Poo was quick to show her! Annie's favorite friend, buddy, companion was Poo (age 13) who had passed suddenly in April this year. With cornea replacement surgery, we had given Poo one good eye for his last years. An unseen lemon-size tumor was found around Poo's heart when he passed. Annie was lost w/o him but has learned to enjoy the attention of being the only dog, and taking up the extra space in the bed with us! We found out the week of Christmas that Annie has a large tumor/sarcoma on her humerus. Our local vet in Orrville referred us to an oncologist at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Akron OH. The treatment for Annie would be amputation of the limb followed by chemo. Annie is one of the overall healthiest dogs we have had, and has so much life, joy and goofiness that she is trying to hold on to. My husband took and early retirement due to Covid risks, which has cut our income a lot. The past 5 yrs have been difficult for us with the care for our pups and we have used most of our available funds, including 401K withdrawals. We hope we can do all we can for Annie.

Athena

Athena is a 1-year-old German Shepherd Mix in Louisville, OH, who needs $2,000 for LASER ABLATION OF ECTOPIC URETERS.

Louisville, OH

Athena and I had rescued each other last May. As I was dealing with pressing mental health issues, she was found at 3 months old living under somebody's porch. We gladly accepted her into our home and she quickly became part of the family as we took with us to soccer practice, trick or treating, and so much more. Athena is such a happy girl that loves everybody and everything. Her favorite toy is definitely her rope and we have gone through so many. Her daily life would be significantly improved with this surgery however, as she spends a lot of her time outside and sleeps in a kennel at night no matter how much I want her to snuggle up on the couch with us. Athena enjoys everything from slinging her rope around the living room, running around the yard, and her every other night bath times. All I have to do is tell her that she's a stinky girl and she goes running for the bath. She has been the most well behaved puppy I have ever experienced and is an extremely quick learner. Athena was born with a condition that causes her to constantly drip pee onto herself and everything else. Her urinary tract bypasses her bladder and come straight out as the urine is produced in her kidneys. She has been on medication for months to prevent infection but the only way to fix the issue is a specialist surgery to correct her urinary tract. I am currently working 70 to 80 hours per week to keep up with expenses and take care of our children. This life changing surgery could cost between $1500-$4000 and we have absolutely no way to fund something that would completely change Athena's life forever.

Tiger

Tiger is a 9-year-old Lhasa Apso in Cleveland, OH, who needs $1,500 for Pericardial Window surgery.

Cleveland, OH

Tiger is 9 years old. I found him when going to work one day. He was in the street near the curb, looking for food. His fur was completely matted and his face covered with fur. I took him home, put him in the backyard, and left for work. When I couldn’t locate an owner, I adopted him. I had him groomed, got his vaccinations updated, and had him neutered. Tiger is very active and likes playing catch and tug-of-war with his toys. He also enjoys running around the yard with my grandson when he visits. He enjoys walks in the nearby park. When my brother visits, Tiger has an especially close relationship with him. He follows close behind and never lets him out of his sight. I work part-time but I also am on a fixed income with SSI. The procedure to drain the fluid cost $3000, which I paid. And now the surgery costs between $4500 to $5500. I am able to pay $500 for the operation and I am hoping I can get funding to pay for the balance. In July 2021, Tiger was becoming bloated, and had difficulty walking. I took him to an emergency clinic, from there to the Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital. Doctors said he was filled with fluid, and did a procedure to drain the fluid out. Now he needs surgery to create a “pericardial window,” a hole in the sac around his heart to drain fluid into chest cavity and absorb naturally in the body. Tiger is a very gentle affectionate dog, and it shows when he plays with my cats. He makes sure not to be rough with them. He also loves snuggling with my cats and sleeping next to them. My youngest cat is Tiger’s best friend and they are always together, inside and out. As soon as someone sits, Tiger is in their lap, even though he is too big to fit comfortably.

Dorito

Dorito is a 1-year-old Orange cat in Kent, OH, who needs $2,000 for Catheter and Bloodwork.

Kent, OH

I rescued Dorito over a year ago, when his owner at the time was not able to take care of him anymore. Once he came into my life, I immediately knew how much I loved him and that him and I belonged to each other. He currently lives with me and my boyfriend, who love him very much, in an apartment. He has his own room in our apartment and is very spoiled. Dorito loves to go on "walks", where we take him out into the hallway of our apartment complex and walk up and down the hall. He is so friendly and sweet, and always greets us and guests at the door. When we first got him, he liked to sleep in his cat bed but recently he has been sleeping in our bed with us. He has learned to love cuddling! I am in my final semester of college, paid for 100% by myself. However, without hesitation, I would give any amount to save my baby. There is no price too high to save him. To have him healthy would make me so happy and make him feel so much better and back to himself again. I took Dorito into the Veterinary ER last night because he was crying and unable to urinate. They told me he had a blocked Urinary Tract and they are keeping him for 48 hours with a catheter. He tested positive for a chronic disease where he can get UTI's when stressed. Because of the amount of tests and procedures he has to have, it is going to be costly. Dorito is the most special cat I have ever met. He absolutely loves tuna, and recognizes when I pick it up just from the sound in the pantry. He loves his canned food, and when I say the word "snack" he recognizes that and knows it's coming. He also loves his toy tube, and runs back and forth through it for long periods of time.

Boomer

Boomer is a 13-year-old Maltese mix in Cleveland, OH, who needs $2,000 for Diabetic Pancreatitis.

Cleveland, OH

Boomer was born March 2, 2008. My sister brought him in as her companion and I saw him often. He met a girlfriend and had a son. The trio lived together happily in sunny California with my sister. Around 2017, Boomer was diagnosed with diabetes and we made the decision to move to Ohio with me so we could focus on his well-being. He's been having the best life traveling to different places with me. Boomer enjoys puzzles. He has mastered up to level 4 and does it in a breeze. He loves food (prior to his illness) and loves to cuddle in his dog beds. He is my emotional support dog and has been a very important part of my life in the past few years. He enjoys walks in downtown and traveling. He is very independent and very calm. I usually find him snoring on one of his dog beds. Our household income is fixed and so far the medical bills have been paid off by savings, credit card and some donations. It was not enough for the first round, but now he is admitted again for IV therapy. Doctors are mentioning euthanasia because of the financial load. Boomer is a senior diabetic dog with multiple complications as this time. He was recently diagnosed with pancreatitis and has elevated numbers for his kidneys, liver, adrenal gland and has anemia now. All this happened in the span o f the last 2 months. He has been hospitalized for a week and has gone back to ER today at the Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Akron to be seen by Dr. Julie Stanton Boomer's most unique characteristic is his ability to not move. I can pick him up and place him somewhere and he will remain in that position without complaint. Very floppy. Unusual for a small lap dog. But he is so funny because he trusts you enough to let you hold him in silly positions. He sometimes will dangle from your arms and he just snores to sleep.

Whiskey — d820c3

Brooklyn, OH

For those who don't know this precious angel, this is Whiskey. She is our beautiful baby girl who has breast cancer. Her life started at the Cleveland APL, where our old roommate adopted her. The APL was unsure if she has ever been spayed, she had a scar on her lower abdomen. They said if you see signs of heat please bring her back and they’ll spayed her. Of course she was never brought back in. Because we thought she was spayed this whole time we were always told if there are parts of the uterus left it’ll make them go into heat without actually going into it. It wasn't until she had a terrible infection, that antibiotics couldn't clear up that Whiskey had to have her first surgery, which was exploratory and become a hysterectomy and lumpectomy. Whiskey is our only little pride and joy in our lives. She is our emotional support when we’ve had tough weeks. We are not ready to lose her and will do everything we have to do to save her. After this surgery she will need a LT side total mastectomy and possible chemo depending on what her biopsy says after the first mastectomy. This is where we need help. Scott and I both work multiple jobs, while I am a full-time nursing student, to make ends meet. These treatments/surgeries are going to be a struggle for us. If you can give anything at all, even just $5 it will go a long way. 6 months later our poor girl had to go in for a second lumpectomy on new lumps that had formed. We decided there has to be more than our poor girl going into surgeries every 6 months for tumors. We decided to get a second opinion. And now we are where we are. Whiskey needs a full mastectomy on her right side.

Rango

Rango is a 1-year-old Mountain cur mix in Kent, OH, who needs $2,000 for a total hip replacement.

Kent, OH

I fostered Rango as a puppy with two of his siblings. After two weeks in my care we connected and I could not have him not be a part of our family. Rango lives with me and my family in a house we just bought that has a great back yard perfect for playing in. He is smart and silly and sometimes a little stubborn but is a well loved member of the family. Rango loves to play fetch and go on walks. He is very smart and takes to training and learning new tricks well. He loves to spend time outside playing fetch when the weather is nice. He also loves going for walks at our local trails. Usually we walk a little over two miles when we go. The remainder of his day he spends snoozing on his bed and snuggling with someone in our couch. Raising three kids and affording life on a teachers salary are not easy. A total hip replacement was near impossible to afford but necessary. A second hip replacement is unimaginable. Having Rango to 100% would allow him to live a long and happy life. Rango has a birth defect that affects his hips and his right front paw. The front paw isn’t a problem but the hips are. We already have had his right rear hip replaced. A procedure that costed eight thousand dollars all together. We actually had to add the debt to our home sale to be able to pay it. He also needs the other hip replaced. We simply cannot afford this surgery. Rango and I are bonded. My wife tells me we both give her the same facial expressions when she’s talking. Rango is very smart. He understands directions even when he sometimes chooses to try and not follow them. He seems to always know when I need reassurance and is always there for me. He loves to play and is constantly being silly.

Kaylee Buttons

Kaylee Buttons is a 8-year-old Bernese/aussie mix in CUYAHOGA FLS, OH, who needs $2,000 for oxygen, Iv fluids, antibiotics .

CUYAHOGA FLS, OH

I rescued Kaylee Buttons 5 years ago from upper peninsula Michigan. She was from a hoarding case and at their local shelter. I call her Kaylee Buttons because she is as cute as a button! She has always been everyone's favorite dog. Because she is so shy of people, when she accepts you into her circle of trust, it means so much! She is patient, sweet, kind, and gentle. Kaylee has a big younger brother, Fezzik and two cat siblings; Chester and George Hamilton. She is either cuddled with one of her brothers, or "melting" off of the couch. When she is excited she has this happy aussie bounce she does and a huge smile. She enjoys sitting in the nearby park streams and letting the water run over her. Due to Covid, and out of my normal job, funds have been tight to say the least. I have already drained my savings for the down payment of $3000 and will most likely owe a lot more, closer to $6000 Kaylee went in for a routine dental. In recovery her oxygen levels kept dropping, without oxygen she would drop to the 80s. When it became apparent she couldnt recover on her own we rushed her to Metropolitan Emergency Vet in Coply Ohio. They currently have her in their internal medicine on oxygen, IVs, and antibiotics. We rescued Kaylee when she was three. She had no idea what dog toys were, and would just look at her brother throwing them around, but never would engage. One day I brought home a small chirping bird toy for the cats. Her ears perked up and she ran over, gently picked it up, carried it to her bed and laid it down next to her. for weeks and weeks she would carry that little bird everywhere she went
