Huckleberry
Huckleberry is a 1.5 month old Dachshund in Leander , TX, who needs $2,000 for Thoracoscopic Correction of PRAA.
Leander, TX
Huckleberry is the sweetest happiest cutest little guy. He has so much energy in life in him. He loves giving kisses and playing with my 10-year-old son. He was a gift for my son archer who loves to fish. He wanted Huckleberry to be his fishing buddy and they could grow up together. At five weeks when Huckleberry was getting weaned, he started vomiting up any solid food that he would eat it got to the point where it was scary and we took Huckleberry to the local veterinarian who did an x-ray and told us that he had a rare condition that he was born with where in artery pinches off the esophagus and only allows tiny bits of liquid to travel to his stomach at a time Huckleberry loves to be held. He cries out for us to pick him up constantly. He follows my 10-year-old son around and loves being the center of attention. He is a sweet, funny floppy little guy. He is so full of life and has so much love to give my 10 year-old son wants him to be his fishing buddy when he gets older. I bought him for my 10-year-old son who suffers from anxiety. My husband and I both work full-time jobs. We have three Schoolboys and like a lot of us struggle to make ends meet. Without this life-saving surgery, poor little huckleberry will be euthanized because he will not be able to get enough calories in to sustain his growing body

Tommy Lee Bones
Tommy Lee Bones is a one-year-old Labrador-Golden Retriever mix in Austin, TX, who needs $1,500 for urgent care.
Lewisville, IN • Lucky Lab Rescue & Adoption
* The Waggle Foundation is dedicated to helping sick and injured pets regain good health. If you join our FurEver Fund today, Waggle will DOUBLE your first month's donation and apply it directly to Tommy Lee Bone's care. Click the blue donate button and choose the Monthly Donation option. * Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption got an urgent message from a Texas shelter. The facility was full, and it would have to start euthanizing dogs for space reasons. "They sent us a picture of this beautiful, young Labrador-Golden Retriever mix. Our hearts melted. How could they kill such an amazing dog? It's heartbreaking what happens in these shelters. He was a must-save," the rescue tells Waggle. Once Tommy went to his foster home, his foster mom made a horrifying discovery: Tommy's abdomen was covered in puncture wounds. His skin was swollen, gaping, oozing, and infected. The rescue contacted the shelter. It said Tommy had been attacked by another dog two weeks before! He received no medical attention or care, so his wounds festered and worsened. Tommy's foster mom had to race him to the animal hospital for urgent care. It's sad to think he sat in the shelter in pain and was about to be led to his death! All due to no fault of his own. Tommy will also need donations to help him get all his vaccines, microchip, neutered, and medical care. The last few months have been a whirlwind of crazy for Lucky Lab and many rescues. Dogs are flooding into shelters, and rescues are all trying to save as many as possible. Donations are down, likely due to the economy. They want to give a massive shout-out, and heartfelt thank you to anyone who gives to Tommy's campaign.

Cocoa
Cocoa is a two-month-old chocolate Lab puppy in Austin, TX who needs $900 for treatment of burned paws.
Lewisville, IN • Lucky Lab Rescue & Adoption
When Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption volunteers first saw Cocoa's sweet face and burnt paws on a shelter's social media post, they sprang into action. There was no way they could leave that adorable puppy in the animal control facility. "The picture of the puppy's red feet brought tears to our eyes," the rescue tells Waggle. "An animal control officer spotted her and picked her up, thank goodness! She was all by herself." No one knows how Cocoa's paw pads became so burnt. Her veterinarian at New Hope Animal Hospital isn't sure if it was a chemical burn or if the poor pup had been running on hot asphalt as a stray. Let's remember; we're talking "Texas hot" asphalt. Temperatures in The Lone Star State have been hovering around 90 to 100 degrees this summer, which means the asphalt could heat up to 160 degrees. "We believe it's likely the burns came from walking on the hot road," the rescue says. Cocoa is on several medications and antibiotics to help her little feet heal. Her prognosis is excellent. Cocoa's foster mom, Margaret S., says the puppy now walks on her tip toes due to the pain. We hope she realizes she can walk on her full paws again once she heals. Don't tiptoe around it. Let's help Cocoa!

Zym
Zym is a three-year-old Labrador Mix in Austin, TX who needs $2,000 for emergency surgery.
Lewisville, IN • Lucky Lab Rescue & Adoption
The phone call from the veterinarian's office was sad and urgent: A Labrador mix had eaten something he should not have (so typical for a Lab), and it caused an obstruction that needed to be surgically removed, or the dog could die. The dog's owner could not afford the surgery. They were also leaving on a long road trip due to a family emergency and could not give him the required care. The owner was facing economic euthanasia, putting the dog down because they could not afford his urgent surgery. The animal hospital contacted Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption in a hurry. With the clock ticking on Zym's life, the rescue had seconds to answer the question: "Can you take this dog in and pay for his surgery?" Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption doesn't turn away dogs that need medical care or expensive surgeries. "It's why we are always begging and pleading for money," the rescue tells Waggle. "We are so thankful we can rely on Waggle to help us." With surgery, the vet can likely retrieve the blockage; it's believed to be a plastic or rubber object blocking his digestive tract. Once it's removed, Zym is expected to be OK. But without surgery, Zym will not make it. The rescue said yes! And thought, "Oh my gosh, we sure hope we can raise the money for his care. We are a nonprofit rescue!" New Hope Animal Hospital told the group Zym was so adorable he was worth it! The situation everyone was in, Zym, his owners, the veterinarian's office, and the rescue, is heartbreaking. Will you please help Zym get the emergency surgery he needs?

Puppy Tumble
Puppy Tumble is a three-month-old Labrador in Austin, TX, who needs $1,500 for Parvo treatment and hospitalization.
Lewisville, IN • Lucky Lab Rescue & Adoption
Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption volunteers are completely and utterly heartbroken: Puppy Tumble came down with Parvo. "She is the sweetest girl," Amy T., with the rescue, tells Waggle. Parvo is a dangerous, highly contagious virus that is completely preventable if a puppy or dog is vaccinated. Sadly, these puppies were born outside after a person who didn't spay or neuter their pets had an unexpected litter. "Not spaying, neutering, or vaccinating your dog or cat can have serious consequences," Amy says. "Now this puppy is suffering because of it. We see this happen all the time, and it's gut-wrenching." The rescue hopes Puppy Tumble, fighting for her life at New Hope Animal Hospital, can win her battle, and her littermates don't contract the virus. Lucky Lab is a nonprofit that isn't afraid to take in dogs with medical issues that might otherwise be euthanized. But they can only do that with the help of organizations like Waggle and generous donors. "Every dog we save is special," Amy adds. "We go out of our way to help treat dogs for medical conditions they have. We are praying for Puppy Tumble."
