Amos

Amos is a 3 year old Pit Bull Mix in Seattle, WA, who needs $2,000 for Diagnostic Testing and Treatments for Skin Issues.

Seattle, WA

I adopted Amos in Dec of 2021 and for a time, his health was fine, he was a rescue recovering from living on the streets and giardia but otherwise happy. He is well loved by me and his furry siblings. He lives in Seattle WA currently, where he was also born. Shortly after adopting Amos, he began to have severe skin issues resulting in rounds of medication, antibiotics and testing. He has many food allergies that I haven't been able to discern most of. His paws, face and booty are plagued with painful blisters in which we are unsure of the cause. He regularly sees the team at North Seattle Vet Clinic. I adopted Amos in a point of my life where my older dog began to show signs of needing a buddy. She was 10 and I thought that getting her a friend and someone to buddy up with would help her as she aged. He also filled a broken part of my heart after dealing with some hard times during the pandemic. He lives with his older sister and 3 guinea pig siblings. A few months after adopting Amos, I was laid off of my job. Finding more work has been very difficult. Having Amos healthy again will allow me to focus on my own health and job search.

Slugger

Slugger is a 7-year-old Chug in Seattle, WA, who needs $1,900 for Emergent Dental Surgery.

Seattle, WA

Slugger is my psychiatric service dog, and we have been together since 2017. I suffer from severe panic attacks, and I was diagnosed with Panic disorder shortly before finding Slugger. He has helped me more times than I can count, and I want to be able to now help him. My knee injury could not of come at a worse time. It's just Slugger and I who live alone together. We are always together, and he is my best friend. He loves to meet new people, go on walks, sleep, of course eat. He is extremely intelligent, and it seems like he truly understands a lot of what I say. He learns new tricks extremely easily, although loves to be stubborn at times. Slugger is my psychiatric service dog, and has the same rights as any service animal. He can fly with me on airplanes and lives with me for free under the law. He is not an emotional support dog. He extremely intuitive, intelligent, and loving. He can sense my anxiety and comes to lay with me whenever my anxiety gets difficult to manage. Slugger is scheduled for emergent dental surgery on May 24th at North Seattle Veterinary Clinic. I was told in March that his peridontal disease was now stage 4, and surgery shouldn't be put off any longer. 2 weeks ago it became emergent when Slugger stopped eating entirely for 3 days, and was put on multiple medications. I was saving up for surgery, but on April 12th I dislocated my knee while working out, and it resulted in torn ligaments, a patella fracture, and a severe sprain that were all diagnosed in an MRI of my knee. I am now on unpaid medical leave.
