Zayda
Zayda is a 1-year-old Siamese Cat in Germanton, NC, who needs $500 for Entropion Repair.
Germanton, NC
After fostering kittens for years I took a break for a few months in the wake of the loss of my senior cat after 17 years together. In November 2022 I decided to open my home again and took in a foster litter of 5 four week old kittens. The runt of the litter, then named Leonardo, immediately snuck into the hole in my heart. Leonardo, now Zayda, is the sweetest cuddle bug. She climbs into my bed every night, demands her pets, and then nudges to get under the covers with me to go to sleep. Her eye condition has never held her back from being playful and affectionate to everyone in the house. She has even won over by grumpy cat Gypsy who doesn't like anyone. Zeyda is very vocal. My kids and I play a game where you are challenged to try and pet her without her meowing at you. We almost always lose. She loves the comfort of cuddling up on top of someone. In your lap, on your shoulder, basically anywhere she can fit her body on top of your body. During my time fostering Zayda's litter I administered 100s of doses of antibiotics for URIs. I expressed repeated concern that her one eye seemed to not be getting better. It wasn't until after adopting her that my personal vet was able to diagnose the condition as entropion. I changed vets to Dr. Rocky at Oakes Animal Hospital for a second opinion. Corrective surgery is her best option. I just returned to my job after 9 months on disability for ptsd. Zayda has helped ease my panic. It has cost $500 in vet bills so far. I have put myself into debt to do my best for her and I'm hoping for a helping hand ther the surgery that she desperately needs.

Matty
Matty is a 7-year-old Tabby Mix in Winston-Salem, NC, who needs $1,000 for Tumor Removal, X-rays, Lab Work, Prescriptions, and Exam.
Winston-Salem, NC
Mattie and his sister Maggie came to me as kittens in a cardboard box on my porch as a rescue cat. We were known for feeding and helping neighborhood cats. He lives in a safe home indoors with several other cats. He's very active, curious and a little mischievous but never mean spirited. He loves to be petted but is also very independent. He is very sensitive and can read minds when you need to take him to the vet lol! Mattie is/was one of our two most athletic cats. Two years ago we found a lump in Matties injection leg which turned out to be cancerous. After consultation with several professionals we made the tough decision to amputate Mattie's leg. After several months Mattie was doing as well as ever! He can still hop in the bed and has returned to some higher places to roam. He's an awesome & happy tripod! A few weeks ago we discovered another small lump on Mattie's left face. It is identified as a mast cell tumor however we are hoping it's non aggressive. The best course of action is surgery and lab work. We will update if anything like chemo is necessary. A few months ago I had a stroke and then shortly after had to replace my car and had other steep vet expenses all at the same time. It has been a difficult year but we can pull through with your help!
