My son wanted a dog to join our family a few years ago. We have another rescue dog, but she is mostly bonded to me. So we found a humane society in Missouri that just got a litter of puppies from a large boxer mother who wandered under someone's porch and gave birth to 10 babies. We didn't specify which one we got, and when we met the van in White River Jct., Loofa was the last one in the van. Loofa loves to chew on anything and everything. He must have bit down on something that caused trauma to his mouth and tooth. The tooth in the bottom front is loose, bruised, and painful, according to the vet. The vet at Onion River Animal Hospital says it needs to be extracted. He is a good boy and we love him so much. We want to end his pain, and for him to enjoy eating and chewing once again. Loofa loves to cuddle with my son, and Loofa's 'sister', Sophie, and our cat, Atticus. He also loves sniffing all the spring smells outdoors. This time of year he is going nuts with delight over spring coming. He also loves bounding around in the snow and mud. He lies down under the kitchen table while I am cooking and doing dishes and keeps me company. The expense of his medical bill is outside of my budget at this time of year in Vermont, when I have extra oil, electricity, and plowing bills. We are already slightly behind with extra expenses, but I still want to take care of this wonderful dog.

I recently got Cocoa about a month and a half ago. I had two cats before her and I wanted one more. I found her brother on facebook and they wanted to give away her and her brother Otto together so I took them both. They love each other. They don't leave each others sides. When one of them moves, the other one goes with. On April 2nd, I noticed that Cocoa wasn't acting like herself. She was lying on the floor not moving at all. I went to pet her and pick her up and she started meowing like she was hurt. When I woke up, She was moving around but she was limping. So i decided to take her to the vet. They did an X-Ray and discovered she had a broken hip. Cocoa is extremely loving. She can cuddle and sleep all day, she can play with the other cats all day. Two of the other cats are older and don't play as much as she does but her and Otto play all the time and with her being hurt, Otto doesn't have anyone to play with. Cocoa needs surgery to fix her hip. Her surgery will cost almost $1600. I don't have that kind of money saved up and her surgery is very important to me. Anything will help!!
Sophie

I met Sophie at an adoption event hosted by Random Rescue at Petco. This was just before Christmas in 2014 a couple of months after my dog, Whisper, had died. I wasn't looking for another dog and I was in Petco to buy cat food. But there was a temporary pen set up full of dogs. I asked if I could climb in to visit with the dogs. Then, when I climbed out, Sophie jumped against the fence after me. Sophie is a wonderful friend. I spend as much time with her as possible. I used to take her hiking and walking more than I do now, but I spend a lot of time outside with her. She comes with me when I go cross country skiing and follows my tracks. She sleeps with me in my bed. The first few years I put her bed on my bed, now she climbs right in beside me under the covers. Sophie is gentle and lovely. She looks very cute in a pink tu tu. She love love loves food. She also likes to lie down on the grass in the sunshine. She doesn't really like to swim in the water, but she loves drinking cold water. She is especially cute when she is cuddled up in a blanket because she has the cutest snore. I once recorded her snore and they played it on BBC "soundscapes". Sophie needs a one-time surgery now that she is getting older. The surgery is to remove one or two diseased teeth and a large growth on the back of her rear hind leg. The vet suggested doing this so she would only have to go under anesthesia once to accomplish two surgeries. This is the first time she has had surgery. Throughout her life she has had allergies. She sneezes in my face alot. A cost of $1,600.00 is outside my cash flow. I also just had to have nearly $2,000 in car repairs and high oil costs this winter. It breaks my heart not knowing how much pain she is in. It would mean so much to me, my son and her dog "brother" Loofa if she feels better.

Chessie was a rescue at a home the owner was foreclosing on and leaving all items including the beautiful cat now chessie, when asked during sale of items where he was moving, in this case OR from VT we said this will be a trip for the kitty he replied no it wont.. I'm leaving him... from there it has been a long road to recovery as you may already gather from our tale, chessie was not well cared for.
