Tazi Jay
Tazi Jay is a 4 year old Mix-Breed in Council Bluffs, IA, who needs $2,000 for Right TPLO and MPL Stabilization and Bloodwork.
Council Bluffs, IA
In May of 2024, I lost my best buddy, Chewbert, to CHF. He was rescued from the street and he made it 4 years with a bad heart. When he passed, I was so heartbroken and depressed. I found Tazi on Midlands Animal shelter and adopted him!! We've been together for a year now!! I love him so much. He's my best buddy. I spend a lot of my time with Tazi. He had lost his person before me. We're family Tazi hurt his right back leg by jumping off the bed and landing at an odd angle. He's on pain meds and has had X-rays done. I took him to Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center and they said he needs surgery. His knee is moving and hurt his tendon. Their estimate is just under $5000. I've applied at several places that help with this expense but have not heard anything as of yet. I love Tazi Jay so much. We both had a lose and helped each other heal. I've been through some personal stuff in the last year that he helped me get through. My favorite is snuggling up at night, he sleeps on the bed with me. I love seeing his joy when he gets a new toy to chew on!! He's very special to me. Tazi Jay is also an ESA. He's got the biggest brown eyes and a very happy smile!! I did not expect this to happen. A simple fall and he needs surgery. I live on social security and work 20 hours weekly to cover expenses. Social security only pays the rent. I'm trying to get $500 together to help my baby boy get his leg fixed. He comes first

Mia
Mia is a 2 year old Chihuahua in Omaha , NE, who needs $2,000 for Surgery to Correct Her Patella Femoral Disease.
Omaha, NE
Mia is a sweet Chihuahua who travelled cross country from Mexico to Omaha, NE. Her life has not been easy, as her previous owners did not treat her well. She only recently learned about belly pets (and now demands them). Mia is a Velcro dog who is always on the lookout for a treat. She is also such a little menace, who barks at us to turn off the lights if we dare to stay up past her bedtime. Recently, we learned that Mia has patella femoral disease, something very common in small dogs. However, hers is pretty severe in one leg and is actively causing pain. She cannot jump onto the bed as well as she used to, and when she walks her knees skip. She has already gone through so much in her life. It breaks my heart to see her in pain. She deserves to live the best life possible. Mia is a persnickety little Chihuahua. She is very particular with who she likes, but if she likes you, she will demand belly pets and snuggles. She also has the most hilarious face when she’s scratching an itch. She likes to be spooned at night and take naps with me. Her favorite person is my mom. Her nick name is Mimi or Mimi bear. This was a sudden thing, and has left me without the time needed to finance an almost 5000 dollar operation. I want to see Mia pain free and back to her old self.

Miley
Miley is a 2 year old Labrador Retriever in Lincoln, NE, who needs $2,000 for Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy.
Lincoln, NE
After loosing my first dog Paisley, I was heartbroken and did not think I would own another dog for many years. A few months later, my dear friend Sophie who worked at the Sioux Falls Humane Society sent me "Claire," stating that "I just had to meet her." Not thinking much about it, I went to meet "Claire," and it was love at first sight. A few days later, "Claire" came home with me ( AKA Miley). Miley has been diagnosed with a bilateral (both legs) cranial cruciate ligament of her back legs. The cranial cruciate ligament (known as the ACL in humans) is one of several ligaments in the stifle (knee) that connect the femur (thigh bone) to the tibia (shin bone). For repair, Miley needs a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy. We are working with Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center in Omaha, NE. Not many people know this, but Miley is my registered emotional support animal. She brings so much joy to not only me, but everyone who meets her. She is one of the smartest, goofiest, and loving dogs that I have ever met. Miley loves almost everyone she meets (human or animal) and always wants to meet new people. I have been told by so many people how gorgeous and loving Miley is. As a graduate student, I am on a monthly stipend that does not allow much extra money each month after paying necessary bills. Because of this, without help, Miley's surgery will not be possible. Any help from others means the world to me.

I'd recently lost my wonderful princess poo. she was a mix rescue from the NE humane society. She encountered cushens disease. She lived to be about 7. My adult daughter lives in the house with me in order to help out with anything I need. I am 82 and need all the help I can get. Cinnabon wags her tail nonstop. It's curled like a Cinnabon/cinnamon roll. She was found wandering the street Cinnabon has bowed legs in the back. She has permanently displaced kneecaps. She has two torn acls. This can be fixed so that she can run and play again. She now struggles to walk and takes pain pills regularly. Sirius Vet Clinic in Omaha Nebraska. I plan to have the surgery performed on the first leg end of this October. My daughter will be able to help with the aftercare. Cinnabon loves everyone. If you are not a "dog" person; once you encounter Cinnabon, you'll reconsider. She makes everyone feel special and loved. She often visits hospitals and nursing homes due to her mild demeanor and lady-like behavior. She brings joy to everyone, especially me when I am by myself often. I thank God for her everyday. She is a gift that keeps on giving and she's only 4.5. I'm on a fixed income. I've been in the hospital for a number of things heart/lungs for the past two years; as I'm 82. And I'm still here! My daughter takes us both on roadtrips. Cinnabon is perfect for me. She is not to hyper and not to sedentary. She keeps me going

Autumn
Autumn is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Lincoln , NE, who needs $2,000 for Surgical Stabilization.
Lincoln, NE
Meet 2 yr. old Autumn! Her and her brother, Prince, came to us at 5 weeks old. We foster for a rescue, fell immediately in love, and adopted them both! Autumn is full of love and spends most of her time with her human brother on his lap or next to him even when he’s sleeping. Sometimes she thinks she’s a K9 and enjoys playing fetch with hair ties and even brings them back when we toss them! Autumn is currently in need of a very expensive surgery to fix her dislocated knee and torn ligaments. Without the surgery her leg will likely have to be amputated eventually. Other than her injury she is a very healthy, young, and active girl. Her surgery will be done by Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center. Autumn’s favorite friends are all of her two and four legged siblings! She gets tons of attention and tons of pets. She loves her snuggle time and can’t wait for the kids to come home from school. She’s very vocal, especially when she knows it’s time to eat! When the kids are at school, her favorite spot is her tower next to my work desk looking out the window and getting some fresh air! Autumn’s unexpected injury requires a very involved and complicated surgery by an orthopedic veterinary surgeon. Unfortunately, the quote for the surgery is in the thousands. Without an emergency fund available we need any help we can get to fix our baby girl!

Freya
Freya is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Council Bluffs, IA, who needs $2,000 for Left TPLO +/- Arthroscopy.
Council Bluffs, IA
Freya's mother was found pregnant wandering and was taken in by a lady who nursed her until her puppies were born. She then took them to the humane society for care because she herself could not care for them and wanted them to find good homes. I adopted Freya from the humane society where I fell in love with her instantly. She snuggled up to me and I knew she was for me. Freya is in need of surgery to repair her ACL in both her left and right hind legs. She will be receiving surgery at Sirius Veterinarian Orthopedic Center. Freya is a lover of all. She adores having attention and must sleep pressed against her human mom. She enjoys playing with her dog sister as well as her best doggie friend. She loves playing in the pool and trying to catch squirrels. Sometimes she feels the need to talk "howl" to express herself. Times are tough, just trying to make ends meet, I am asking for help. I have been door dashing for 3-5hrs everyday after working 8hrs at my full time job to try & save money for Freya's surgery. I want to see her happy and prancing around the yard carefree.

Bella broke her left elbow and needs emergency surgery. Unfortunately we do not have the means to pay all the costs. Hospital is Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Omaha is the hospital. Bella is such a sweet loving puppy, we've only had her a couple days before she broke her elbow thinking she's a flying squirrel. Shes a silly girl with a big brother who is sad they can't play together. She has learned sit, and stay and learning so much more. I just had knee surgery myself and just got back to work. After paying emergency pet services to see what was wrong with poor baby Bella I had already given my whole paycheck or $900 to find out that she needs surgery ASAP to fix her leg. It'll mean everything to us and her!

Oakley
Oakley is a 3-year-old Pitbull Mix in Omaha, NE, who needs $2,000 for Right and left TPLO and DFO.
Omaha, NE
We rescued Oakley about 3 years go when he was just a little pup. We had never own a pit (mix) before but we just knew he was right for our family. Our, now, 7 year old daughter who is the BIGGEST pet lover came up with his name. Oakley is true the best and sweetest boy you will ever meet. His bond he has with our daughter is unreal. Can’t find Oakley? Go look on her bed and find him all cozied up When we got Oakley, we also had our German shepherd Nikita. She was an older lady and wasn’t too sure about oaks at first, but with his spunky and loving personality it wasn’t long before they were best buds. We then added a Great Dane to the family as Nikita passed shortly after, and her and our Great Dane,Piper, are now two peas in a pod. Oaks just wants to give all the kisses he can to everyone Oakley is just the best. There is no other like him. Most people have a stigma around pits and think they are these mean dogs waiting to attack. We had a 5 and 2 year old at the time we rescued him, he has never once showed any sign of anything other then pure love to our children, us, others, and all the animals in our home and that he has ever come in contact with. He’s the sweetest of boys! When we rescued Oaks, you always rescue with the reminder that there is unknown. He was the sweetest and fit so perfect in our family, so we knew and took on the chances of the unknown. Oakley has always been bowlegged and we have never had a dog who was. Turns out he’s pretty badly bowlegged which has cause both knee caps to be dislocated and the right legs ACL has torn. This requires surgery When we got the knees of oakleys torn ACL we knew it was going to be a couple thousand of dollars. To our surprise there was more going on with not just the one leg but BOTH legs that require surgery. This is going to cost upwards of 7k per leg.

Walter
Walter is a 9-month-old Frenchie / Boston Terrier in Omaha, NE, who needs $2,000 for Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) Surgery on Both Rear Hips.
Omaha, NE
Our family adopted Walter when he was 9 weeks old from our local Humane Society. Walter's mother was rescued from an abusive home and was pregnant with a litter of puppies at the time. Walter is currently 9 months old and has one older brother (7 y/o Pug Winston) and one older sister (5 y/o Frenchie Willow). Walter immediately fit in with our family! Walter loves to snuggle in on the couch right in between Winston & Willow. He loves to be around his humans and go on walks around the neighborhood. Walter's favorite thing to do is wrestle with his sister Willow. Walter has always been a quick learner and has such a great personality. We have 3 teens in the home that absolutely adore him. Walter has the funniest facial expressions! He is an all black dog with dark eyes. He will look at you out of the corner of his eye and we always laugh and say "Oh Walter is giving us side eye"! He sleeps in the weirdest positions and places! Once I found him sleeping with his head buried in my daughter's shoe. After several appts, Walter has been diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia bi-lateral coxofemoral subluxation w/minimal coverage of femoral head in both rear hips. Walter is in pain and requires FHO surgery. Both hips will pop every time he walks, and he is currently on pain medication every day. Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center Dr. Tan Our family is devastated as we do not have the finances to cover the cost of this surgery. Surrending Walter is not an option for us, and we need help. Walter is so young, and we want him to live pain free without medication!

Gordo
Gordo is a 1-year-old Italian Greyhound Dog in Lincoln, NE, who needs $2,000 for Surgery.
Lincoln, NE
I got Gordo from a family friend and he's been such fun addition to our family. He has a brother Onyx which is a cat. They love playing together! He has such a fun personality yet takes plenty of naps. We wanted an older male name for him and landed on Gordo. If you've seen Lizzie McGuire, you'll understand! His white "socks" fit so well with his older name. His nickname is Gordo B. Gordo loves sleeping with mom and dad since they are such cold dogs. He's always in a sweater if not curled up in a blanket. During the healing process, moms arms are the most calming! We LOVE going on walks and meeting new dogs! His favorite friend is his cat brother and his two friends Oliver and Gryffin! We love playing with our toys and learning new tricks! Mainly because he gets treats. We live in Nebraska and Gordo is a true Husker Fan! We figured out he howls when mom says GO HUSKERS! He's being raised with a cat so he plays like one. He plays chase with my cat, which I cat usually starts. He has two other friends that play fetch quite often! My sister has his brother as well, so we take him with us every time we see her for a brother play date! Gordo, jumped off a couch and landed wrong, breaking both of his front legs.. We took him to the emergency vet then scheduled surgery at Sirius Vet in Omaha. We will have weekly bandage changes for 4 week then a review to see the progress. This will be a 12 week minimum process but cuddles with mom has helped the most. Now I'm working from home to help during the healing process. This was unexpected and with paying our surgery loan back the bandage changes range from $50-150 each week. We're seeking help to repay this loan and keep up with the weekly payments for appointments and medications. We'd like to do rehab as well if we could afford it.
