Houston

Houston is a 10 month old American Pit Bull Terrier in Georgetown, TX, who needs $4,000 for Corneal Graft.

Georgetown, TX

Houston is our beloved Emotional Support Animal (ESA) and a cherished member of our family. We adopted her in Houston, Texas, which inspired her name. She lives indoors with us and has been by our side through every chapter of our lives. When my husband was a truck driver, she was his loyal road buddy. She is loving, gentle, and our best friend. Houston developed a painful eye ulcer that caused her to keep her eye closed and constantly itch at it. Despite medications and follow-ups, it has not healed. At South Texas Veterinary Ophthalmologists, we learned she needs a corneal graft to try to save her eye and prevent her from losing her vision. The procedure is estimated at $4,000, and we are fighting for our sweet girl. Houston is so much more than a dog—she is our baby, our best friend, and a true part of our family. She has the sweetest heart and always brings us comfort and joy. She loves cuddling, playing, and being close to us. As my husband’s road buddy and our Emotional Support Animal (ESA), Houston has given us endless love and made our house feel like home. We are struggling financially as college students preparing for our first baby’s arrival in October. With upcoming baby expenses and Houston’s $4,000 corneal graft, we need help giving her the care she needs. Having Houston healthy again would mean everything she is our life

The Gentleman

Tiny Gentleman Needs Major Surgery for a Chance at a Normal Life

San Antonio, TX • San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition

When The Gentleman was rescued with his siblings from the streets of San Antonio, he was always the smallest and quietest of the litter. While the others grew, he struggled. He vomited frequently, could not keep full meals down, and failed to gain weight the way a healthy kitten should. Despite loving foster care, something was clearly very wrong inside his tiny body. Veterinarians have now determined that The Gentleman likely has a hiatal hernia — a condition where part of the stomach pushes through the diaphragm, preventing it from functioning normally. This explains why he has struggled to eat, grow, and thrive. For months, his foster has carefully managed him with pureed food and elevated feedings just to help him keep meals down. Slowly, he has gained strength, and now at nearly 4 pounds, he is finally healthy enough for the lifesaving surgery he needs. Without surgical repair, The Gentleman faces continued vomiting, chronic discomfort, poor nutrition, and the risk of a sudden fatal emergency if his stomach shifts further. His surgery will reposition and secure his stomach, repair the defect, and give him the chance to finally live like a normal cat. The estimated cost of surgery is $3,284.05. Despite everything, The Gentleman remains a sweet and gentle soul. He loves shoulder massages, gets along with cats and dogs, and still gets the occasional zoomies when he feels good. He has fought so hard to get this far. Now he needs your help to get across the finish line. Please donate today to help fund The Gentleman’s surgery and give this special boy the healthy future he deserves. 5/8/26 Update: The Gentleman was able to get his surgery and is recovering at home. The Gentleman received his life-changing hernia repair and is now recovering at his foster home. He hates his meds but enjoys he multiple small meals during the day.

Oreo

Oreo is a 8 year old Cairn Terrier in San Antonio, TX, who needs $2,000 for Cranial Cruciate Ligament Rupture (CCLR) Surgery.

San Antonio, TX

Oreo's previous family dropped him off at Animal Control with orders to euthanize him. A caring rescue picked him up and when I met him he was 8 pounds, bald, and could not stand up. I held him in two hands and cried that he was going to die that night. I took him home and 6-months later he is such a good, happy laid-back gentleman! He's so smart, and I have become the love of his life. Oreo lives with me in my house. I have a back yard and he walks over to me and gives me his "look" when he needs to go outside to do his business. One night he was especially in a hurry to get to the backyard, and thinking he was Superman, he jumped off the small back porch instead of using the stairs. He sprained his leg and immediately started limping. I thought it was temporary, but it turns out he suffered a Cranial Cruciate Ligament Rupture. I spent over $350 to get him examined and x-rayed. Now he needs surgery to ever walk again on all four legs and the cost is $3,400. I can't pay that since I am retired and on a fixed income. My heart is breaking because if I can't get him the help he needs I will need to carry him since he can't walk far. He loves going on walks and sniffing at everything and he can no longer do that. Please help Oreo

Jamison

Jamison is a 10-year-old Labrador in San Antonio , TX, who needs $2,000 for Cruciate Rupture.

San Antonio, TX

I adopted Jameson from a local shelter about 2 years ago. He was the second edition from the shelter as we adopted earlier in the year. Due to having recently put our Lab Taylor down due to Medical conditions. He currently resides with me and my youngest son. Jameson is a very loving dog. He is also very active. His best friend is our other dog Bud. They have a bond like I've never seen before. He often licks his face and cleans his ears as if he were his own. I also saw a special side of Jameson when my son came home from the hospital after a terrible motorcycle accident. He was confined to the couch and Jameson never left side. Jameson loves to play fetch with anything. It could be his rope, a ball a football or whatever you can throw even logs from the fireplace he will retrieve. I've come to find out that he is fully trained dog and very active. He comes up with his rope in his mouth with a smile on his face with his eyes bright and his tail wagging. He will not take no for an answer! After having Jameson around for 3 to 4 months I noticed he had a limp. I took him to the doctor and they said both his back legs not only had arthritis but torn ligaments in both legs. That both would eventually require surgery. Dr Meridith Esterline at South Texas Veterinary Surgery talk to me through the entire procedure. She is truly wonderful and took her time explaining everything. I recently have had a cut in hours at work due to the slowing of our business. I live paycheck to paycheck. However I can't put this off any longer. I would love to see him doing what he loves most running and playing in the sprinkler. And bringing logs in for the fireplace.

Buddy Garcia

Buddy Garcia is a 12-year-old Cairn Terrier Mix in New Braunfels, TX, who needs $2,000 for cataract surgery with lid mass removal.

New Braunfels, TX

Buddy came into my life when he needed a human to love and be loved. Buddy is a double rescue, when I meet him at the dog shelter, he had a large incision on his back, dirty cone on his head and nasty stringy matted hair. We definitely needed each other! I became his HUMAN and want to make sure he has the best possible life. Buddy is my best friend and is loved by everyone he meets. Buddy is so friendly, does not chase cats, birds or any other animals. Does not bark and or tries to fight other dogs. If you let him sit next to you on the couch he would be so content. Give him a treat and he will be your best friend..ask anyone that has met him. Buddy loved to fetch his favorite squeaky toy, since he has lost his eye sight to cataracts he does not play very much, poor guy is constantly search's for me and needs to be near me at all times. I know if he was get his eye sight back he would gain his independence back. Buddy is so cool He will let me put fuzzy sweaters on him. Buddy has had blood work, retinal scans and has seen an ophthalmitis and is a very good candidate for cataract surgery. He also has a small ulcer on his left eye would be a part of the surgery. Buddy needs cataract surgery to gain his independence back. Buddy will be treated at South Texas Veterinary Ophthalmology in San Antonio, Texas. At this time I am looking for employment, and can afford a small monthly payment, but can not afford the $800 -6 month payment plan. I NEED to get Buddy's eyesight to some reasonable vision before I return to work.
