I got Bandida a little over six years ago when she was six weeks old from a person who had German Shepherd pups. With my being a 79 y.o. Vietnam vet, I need a dog to help me through my depressions and give a bit of security to my home. Of course, I socialized her, and she is not aggressive, but people will think twice about trying to break in when they see Bandy barking from my window. Bandy has been a healthy dog up to this occurrence Her vet is a wellness plan with Banfield Pet Hospital, on Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta, GA. Several days ago, I noticed her having difficulty getting up, but after she walked around, she seemed fine. On Saturday, she was running the fence with the neighbor's dog, and she was much worse. Vet diagnosed her with(Canine Cruciate Ligament) injury. Bandy is my baby and has cheered me up from depression many times (diabetes, heart issues, stage four kidney disease, hernia, prostate issues - medical conditions I have). She does not like rain and will not go out unless I get wet with her. Loud lightening will bring her to my side to be calmed down. We are there for each other. I need her as much as she needs me. I live on Social Security, and wellness plan does not cover this. The nurse even told me she doesn't think Banfield has doctors who can do this surgery another issue facing. I am so worried at wits end. Even Xrays alone in excess of $500. Surgery will be huge!

I adopted Conner through the local shelter as a 8 week old puppy. He is a typical puppy, running and rambunctious. There are 4 other dogs here who get along with him great. He is best friends with one of them. However as time went on, he wasn’t jumping like a typical dog. His hind legs weren’t typical of lab and shepherd mix. As stated before, not only his hind legs are close together but he is also walking on his hind tiptoes. He uses steps to get into my bed. When he gets into the other bed, he puts his front paws on the bed and puts his hid paws on the footboard and get into bed that way. Right now, we are in contact with.Surgipet in Buford Ga for surgery. Connor is such an easy-going puppy. He loves everyone in the household. He is also very vocal. Meaning he has a loud yawn. And he loves using one paw when he wants to have some attention. I never thought that I would need pet insurance. I never had it before. Because of this, this became an unexpected expense. I will be getting pet insurance for future issues.
Journey
Journey is a 6-year-old Lab mix Dog in Alto, GA, who needs $1,066 for Amputation Extremity.

We rescued Journey in December of 2021. She has been a blessing to our family. She came at a time that our other lab was having severe separation anxiety. Since having Journey in our home he hasn’t had any issues at all. She also helps me cope with my depression and anxiety. She deserves to live a long happy life!! Even through Journeys injury she is playful and joyful. She has the sweetest disposition you will ever see. Even tho she has a bad fracture and is in pain you would never know it. She doesn’t whine or try to bite/snap at you. She just loves you in return. She even still plays with Cooper thru it all. Oh my goodness. Her personality is like no other. Shes the calm before the storm (Coooer) lol. They complete each other and complete our family. She is so sweet and calm with children. She’s our snuggle bug. She try’s to hang with the big boys and does a pretty good job at it. She deserves a chance to continue to run and play. On April 6th Journey slipped out of our yard and was hit by a car. We found her a day later. We spent all we had to take her to the emergency vet. Her injury is so severe the only option is amputation. We can not afford any additional treatments or her surgery. We’re praying this fundraiser will help. I am just starting out on my own and can hardly afford rent and the expenses of daily living. We need Journey to get better. She helps me cope with my depression and anxiety and also is a big asset to my other lab Cooper and his anxiety.
