Kelev
Kelev is a 7 year old Mix-Breed in Sturbridge, MA, who needs $2,500 for Prescription Food, Medications, and 2 Visits a Month.
STURBRIDGE, MA
My mom and I rescued Kelev at 5 weeks old. He became our heartbeat. During her 6-month battle with cancer, he never left her side. When she took her last breath, Kelev and I were curled up with her. Since losing her, he's been my only anchor. We grieved as survivors of the same great love. Named Kelev (Hebrew for dog), he is "all heart" and my last living link to the family we built. Now in a home His body can’t digest most food and he needs several medications regularly to keep him healthy and alive. Sturbridge Veterinary Specialty, have likened his condition as something like a Crohn’s disease in humans. He has problems with his entire digestive system and is on prescription food and 3 regular medications a month. Several urgent trips due to vomiting and diarrhea has become the norm. Kelev, my only family we lost my mom than our home stayed in 3 different hotels and he made each one a home for us. His love for stuffed animals that he treats as his babies often putting them in his food bowl to share. He always kept my spirits up especially when he would dance with a scratch on his lower back. At night he would forgo his dog bed to sleep against me. His breathing my lullaby. Losing Kelev because I can’t continue to financially support his manageable illnesses is beyond anything I can imagine. The pain of losing my mom would rival the pain of putting Kelev down when he can have a normal life with the right care. He’s a happy 7 year old dog.

Samantha
Samantha is a 11 year old Mix-Breed in Sturbridge, MA, who needs $4,000 for Surgery- Removal of Nail Growth and Digit.
Sturbridge, MA
We adopted Samantha, known as “Sam,” in 2014 when she was 13 weeks old. She was a rescue. Sam was a challenging puppy. We don’t know what she went through, but she did not trust us and ran off all the time. Sam has grown into the best dog. She has grown to trust and respect us as we do her. Sam has been through so much with me and my kids, and I can't imagine life without her. Sam is family. A few months ago I noticed that Sam's toenail looked extremely wrong. It is 10 times the normal size and her toe is red and swollen from the nail growth. She cant do the things she love like walks and is in constant pain. I called our vet, and they referred me to VSC of Sturbridge. I have brought Sam here 3 times now for visits, tests and medication. The confirmed that surgery is the only option Sam is so special to us. She has been in our family for over a decade! It's so crazy that she has grown up with my kids. My son is now 15, and my daughter is 18, who were 3 and 6 when we got Sam. Sam is like one of my children. She loves everyone in our family, always excited to see us and we love her so much! Sam loves going for walks, rides, and just spending time with the family. The estimate for Sam’s surgery is $4,000. I would have to take out a loan to cover this expense. If Sam could walk without pain, it would mean so much to me and my family. I know that one day I will be able to pay this forward. Thank you for reading my post. God Bless.

Samantha is a 11 year old Mix-Breed in Sturbridge, MA, who needs $2,000 for Surgery to Remove Toe and Nail.
Sturbridge, MA
We rescued Sam in 2014 when she was 13 weeks old. Sam was a challenging puppy; she would run off all the time (usually with someone's shoe), she was like “Cujo” at the vets, steel food any chance she got…Sam has grown into the best dog ever; she has been with me and my kids through sooo much. Sam is a family member to us; we love her so much and hate seeing her in pain. A few months ago, Sam got up extremely quickly and I thought she just hurt her leg. About 6 weeks ago, I noticed that her toenail was about 10 times the normal size and her toe is red and swollen from the nail growth. I called our vet, and they referred me to VSC of Sturbridge. I have brought Sam here 3 times now for visits, tests and medication. They determined that surgery is the only option Sam is so special to us. She has been in our family for over a decade! It's so crazy that she has grown up with my kids. My son is now 15, and my daughter is 18. Sam is like one of my children. She has been with me through so much. She loves everyone in our family, always excited to see us and we love her so much! Sam loves going for walks, rides, and just spending time with the family. I am a single mother with 2 kids and 2 dogs- well more like 4 kids. It just kills me to see Sam walking around in pain ALL the time. Sam can't go for walks and has a hard time getting into the car. If Sam could get her toe fixed and walk without pain, it would mean so much!

Bo
Bo is a 12 year old Catahoula Cur in Woodstock, CT, who needs $1,000 for Possible Anal Gland Surgery.
Woodstock, CT
Bo had been with us his whole life. We got him in 2013 for my son, but ended up becoming my wife's best friend after the loss of her brother. Bo went through service dog training and has been by her side every step of the way. We do also have 2 other dogs. Bayla has been Bo's best dog friend for 10 years and they are very bonded. And Bruno is the baby of the bunch, and is quite attached to Bo. Bo presented with painful bowel movements a few days ago. He was seen at our regular vet 2 days ago, and since then he has gotten much worse. He had a large abscess for yesterday and burst last night. He is in extreme pain, and we are waiting for the emergency vet to open. We are trying our best to get him into Veterinary Specialty Center of Sturbridge Massachusetts. Bo is the sweetest, most gentle dog in the world. He is great with everyone, whether 2 legged or 4. He is always happy, and loves to please everyone. He has also passed his service dog training, and has been my wife's service dog for the last 10 years. Very unexpected expense. I am out of work due to an injury, and my wife's pay goes to bills. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Losing Bo would be devastating to our family

Willow
Willow is a 9 year old Mix-Breed in Springfield , MA, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery.
Springfield, MA
Willow is a rescue pup. She came to us 7 years ago with special needs. She has post traumatic stress disorder. She is the sweetest pup there is. She hides when we have company. She is afraid of cats but loves rabbits. She loves to come to work with me. She is my 'boss'. We allow her to make the rules as it is what keeps her not only content but relaxed as much as she can be. Willow had a TPLO surgery on her right hind leg on August 27th. 3 weeks after post-op, she decided to jump over the barrier we had set up to keep her safe. When she jumped over the barrier she tore her left hind leg CCL. She is now needing a second surgery. I could pay for the first surgery from savings and per insurance but this second surgery I cannot afford. My Willow is the best pup around. She and I have such a unique bond as we are here for one another. I am her emotional support human while she is my ADA service dog. She assists me with mobility while traveling. I have never met an animal quite like her. She comes with me everywhere. She is quiet and reserved. Loves to cuddle and be right by my side. She's lying on my feet and snoring now. I lost my daughter in law unexpectantly in April. I flew to Miami to be with my stepson as we needed to say good bye. After I got home a drunk driver totaled my car, so I had to go and buy a new car. Then Willow tore her first CCL in July. Finances are tight right now.

Lucic
Lucic is a 10 year old Mix-Breed in Wellesley , MA, who needs $2,000 for Rhinoscopy/Endoscopy.
Wellesley, MA
Lucic (LOO-cheech), a.k.a. Kittykins, was left out in a blizzard. I first spotted him standing in a snowbank, freezing his little murder mittens off. I'd never owned a cat before, but I took him in, saving him from the snowplow and sub-zero temps. He's been my best friend for the past 10 years. He's a spirited, vocal, and cuddly "orange cat" and my only fur-child. He is my greatest joy. Lucic is having trouble breathing, has lost his sense of smell (so I must spoon-feed him), & has been battling a respiratory infection. The vet thinks he has a polyp, which could be removed to make him better. That requires a costly rhinoscopy (& maybe an endoscopy) at VSC Sturbridge. Looch has FIV from when he was a stray & has hyperthyroidism. But he can live a good life with the polyp removed. Looch loves to hit ping pong balls and sparkly balls around the apartment. He "bird watches" from inside, loves his hidey tunnel, and will lie on his back for tummy pats. He's a snuggler and a very social kitty who likes to be near me all the time. He makes me laugh with his silly antics and mischief. I think he's purrrrrrfect! I love him with all my heart. I'm on SSDI after surviving a near-fatal horseback riding accident and a rare form of cancer. I've helped caretake for many sick relatives & friends & Looch has been my emotional support. I spent what $ I had on his ER care & now need your help for the treatment to save him.

Flora
Flora is a 2.5 year old Mix-Breed in Phillipston, MA, who needs $2,000 for Bilateral TPLO.
Phillipston, MA
Flora is a rescue from Mississippi. She has been a wonderful companion. Very sweet and lovely personality. She has been with me since Christmas 2021, she was born September 29, 2021. Within a few months of being neutered, she began limping. First just left hind leg, then returning to the Vet, we were told she needed knee surgery and soon there after she was really struggling to walk. We took her to Veterinary Surgical of Sturbridge. And was told she needs both knees surgically repaired. With an estimate of 9,000 - 10, 000. This dog was picked after months and months of searching. I saw her eyes and knew immediately she was the one. She rarely barks and is full of licks, if she doesn't have a tennis ball in her mouth. Very sweet to the other rescues in the house. I was able to get Care credit for $8,000 but it's not enough to cover her surgeries. She's gonna need both knees fixed. I just need a little bit more to be able to do both legs at the same time. Being on a fixed income is a struggle every day. She bring light into my life

Clinton, MA
Maslow is a 3 year old energetic happy boy. I rescued him from Alabama and have had him since he was 3 months old. We live in a second floor apartment in a small town Maslow is everyone’s buddy. He is the best boy and truly my best friend. I don’t know what if do without him. Maslow is 80 pounds but it doesn’t stop him from being a lap dog to anyone who sits near him Maslow is a good ball always dropping and rolling over for belly rubs. He’s a gentle giant that crouches down when he sees small dogs. I think he is trying to make them feel comfortable Maslow had a CCL tear with possible meniscus involvement in his left leg. The vet said he will need surgery to repair it which will cost about six thousand dollars. The vet is the veterinary specialty center of Sturbridge I am a single mom who worked hard to make ends meet. I applied for care credit but didn’t get approved. I don’t know how I’ll come up with the money for this. I hate asking for help but am in a tough spot
