Luna

Luna is a 6 year old Korean Jindo Dog in San Diego, CA, who needs $10,000 for Eye Removal on One Eye & Cataract Surgery the Other.

san diego, CA

Luna is a 6-year-old dog who lives with my fiancé and me in our apartment with a patio in San Diego. We adopted her just before COVID, and she has been a cherished member of our family ever since. She is an indoor dog who enjoys spending time with us and being part of our daily routines. Luna was recently diagnosed with acute glaucoma in both eyes and has already lost vision in one eye. She is receiving treatment through Veterinary Specialty Hospital (VSH) in San Diego. Her condition requires ongoing medications and specialty eye care, with surgery recommended to help preserve the vision she has remaining. Luna has been our therapy dog and constant source of comfort through life's challenges. She is incredibly smart, came to us already potty trained, and has a quirky personality that often reminds us of a cat. Even my parents, who never liked dogs, completely fell in love with her after meeting her. Luna's diagnosis came as a complete shock and created significant financial strain. The recommended surgery is about $10,000, with medications costing $200 every two weeks. Luna is the bright spot in our lives, and preserving her vision would mean everything to our family.

Cosita

Cosita is a 3 month old Yorkshire Terrier in National City, CA, who needs $4,000 for MRI and CT Scan.

National City, CA

Cosita is full of zest and life. She is so energetic that she doesn’t stop by curiously exploring and testing her parents boundaries. She learned her named so when we call her she comes running to us. She discovered this week to make turns, we randomly see her making 360 turns while playing. Last month we went to VEG due to her weeping in pain and we couldn’t figure it out. The vets were still not sure what it was, that it was either distemper or she injured herself because it was discovered the pain was in the neck area. After receiving pain meds and antibiotics with in 2 days she was back to normal. Today it started again so we took her back to VEG but recommended a specialist She is our only babygirl. My husband and I can’t have children so our beloved Cosita is our daughter. She is so sweet and loves cuddling on your neck. If you stop petting her she demands pets by pawing at you or sniffing your face. She is our first puppy ever. We usually adopt or people find us to see if we are interested in a dog usually the dogs are adults by the time we get them. We have suddenly expensives with her from the last visit that we paid some cash and dipped into out savings and had to finance the rest. This time we will need funds to cover the cost

Penelope

Penelope is a 2 year old Boxer in San Diego, CA, who needs $25,000 for Emergency Surgery and Ongoing Specialist Care.

San Diego, CA

We adopted sweet Penelope when she was about 11 months old after she was found as a stray and taken in by a shelter. She’s been part of our family ever since and truly at the center of our world. She’s loved by all - neighbors and visitors stop by daily looking for her and often tell us she’s the highlight of their day. She’s social, sweet, and increidbly easy to love. Penelope experienced a sudden, life-threatening medical emergency that required immediate surgery and an extended stay in the ICU. The total cost of her emergency care exceeded $51,000. While she is now stable, she requires ongoing care with an internal medicine specialist to determine the cause of her illness and guide next steps, including continued testing and follow‑up visits. Penelope is incredibly affectionate, goofy, and cuddly, and truly believes she’s a lap dog. She loves people, running around with other dogs, and most importanly, being curled up with her family. She’s incredibly social, endlessly loving, and truly irreplaceable to us. During Penny’s ICU stay, our household unexpectedly became a single‑income family, adding to the sudden and significant financial strain. We’ve paid over $30,000 out of pocket so far, and ongoing specialist visits, testing, and medications continue to add to the cost.

Lena

Lena is a 13 year old Australian Cattle Dog in San Diego, CA, who needs $5,000 for Kidney Injury Treatment.

San Diego, CA

I got Lena after my older brother said he didn't want her anymore because she was too boring. He adopted her from Sedona, Arizona but after a couple months she came to live with me in San Diego, CA when she was 4. She has lived with me ever since and it had been 10 years. My boyfriend and I moved into our first apartment together 5 years ago. We are a family of 3, and she is our baby and our world On Monday, May 25th, Lena was hospitalized due to an acute kidney injury which resulted in Azotemia, in addition to having a mass cell tumor on her neck. She also was recently diagnosed with GI tract issues and high blood pressure. She is currently checked into Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Sorrento Valley where Dr. Yellimelli and Dr. Rodriguez are treating our baby. Lena's most favorite place in the world is in someone's lap. She's incredibly smart, and emotionally intelligent. She responds best to gentle love and absolutely hates commotion or loud noises. Even a high five will have her running into a corner, but as soon as you direct it towards her, she starts to get excited. She gives the sweetest kisses, and her smell and soft fur always bring us peace. We are on a fixed income and have been forced to live extremely frugally. Any savings that we have accumulated over the years has gone into Lena's treatment. Lena has brought so much joy into everyone's life that she has met, its too soon for her to be taken away.

Potato is a 10 year old Chihuahua in San Diego, CA, who needs $8,000 for Endoscopic Discectomy.

San Diego, CA

I rescued Potato when he was 3 yrs old and 1 lb. We've been together since then and now he's 10 yrs old and 3 lb. I pick his name because he's the size of a large potato. He's really sweet and quiet and travels with me everywhere. I left him with my family while I was on deployment and they didn't treat him well. When I got him back, he wasn't walking due to a neck injury and He needs surgery. He's not big on toys and mostly lounge around the house. He likes stroller rides and lots of treats. He's scared of small children. He's likes other dogs and will play with them because not fir very long. I'm currently at a low rank in the military and can't cover the cost. I'm currently using all the money I've saved so far for the surgery but it's still not enough for the full amount.

Piper

Piper is a 8 year old Chihuahua in San Diego, CA, who needs $12,000 for CT Scan and ICU Stay.

San Diego, CA

My wife rescued Piper June 6, 2016. They are two peas in a pod! I met Piper in April of 2022. She wasn’t a huge fan of me being the new “lady” in her moms life and bringing a brother she never asked for, but over time we have become best friends! She lives in an apartment with both her moms and her older, big brother, Beastly. She’s the boss though! Piper had 8 teeth extractions 2/17/26. She has a history of dental disease, but she is other wise a very healthy pup. Wednesday, her left eye was very swollen and not tracking. After two ER visits she was given eye drops and medication. Her dental surgeon saw her 2/20-21 and found abscesses and an ulcer. She went critical 2/21 and transferred to ICU at Vet Specialty Hospital. She is the best cuddles and occasional nurse for me when I am sick. She is my little shadow and loves to give kisses even if they are a bit aggressive and invasive sometimes! She has the best side eye and little attitude. She knows how to wrap you around her paws. She makes the rules, and we just provide her with love and a home! It is impossible not to fall into a spell under her adorable charm! This medical emergency is completely unexpected. Her care for the weekend alone is $12,000 dollars. She is fighting hard but after this weekend we financially can’t help her fight longer. We don’t want to say goodbye to our baby girl, but we just are not financially able

Hello am so sad to have to do this but our beloved baby girl Blue is in immediate help. All funding is going directly to the VSH vet hospital off Sorrento Valley. Anything helps. God bless everyone and there family and life for just sharing this story or praying or helping with just $1 to help get Blue immediate medicine which is called CHOP. Missy

Missy is a 4.5 year old Maltese in El Cajon, CA, who needs $2,000 for MRI, Pain Relief, and Spine Surgery.

El Cajon, CA

I've had Missy since she was a little fluffy jelly bean, and I instantly fell in love with her. She attached herself so hard onto my mom and me, she IS our baby. We currently live in my grandparents' house, renting from them, but we can't pay rent because of the vet bills. My mom is a hairstylist, and I am still in high school. Missy was diagnosed on Wednesday with IVDD. She needs an MRI, and she needs surgery done ASAP! My mom and I are trying everything to get the funds for it all, but we're extremely behind and completely unsure if we can get this done for her. I do not want her in pain, and I don't know what to do. We are so desperate for any help right now; she is in so much pain. Missy's personality is huge; she makes everyone smile. She greets people by flipping over onto her back, and she'll request tummy rubs right away, or her little attitude when she's acting spoiled. Her energy livened up the room in a way that I feel like it cured my chronic depression. She is an amazing dog and one of the best good girls. She is so smart and empathetic. My mom and I are at an all-time financial hardship. I am attending Diego Valley HS in El Cajon, and now with Missy's condition, I cannot get a job. My mom is a hairstylist and makes minimum wage. All we want is for our baby is be happy again and get the chance to walk again.

Fenrir is a 3 year old Mix-Breed in La Mesa, CA, who needs $2,000 for Gallbladder Removal Surgery.

La Mesa, CA

Fen is a muted calico that is pair bonded with her brother. I adopted them both with my mom who also adopted a pair bond from the same litter. We all live together now. We live in a 2 story, 3 bed household with 7 cats, 1 dog, and 5 humans, this arrangement started late 2024. Previously it was just me and my brother with our 4 cats in a 2 bed apartment. She had anemia last year and had a relapse this month that required 3 blood transfusions at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego. The anemia has been identified and likely only require a prolonged steroid treatment to address. The current emergency are gall stones blocking her bile duct causing her to look jaundice. The treatment would be to remove the gall bladder and estimated to cost 15k She is especially loving, will lay on your chest for hours with her legs sprawled out. When she's feeling particularly ignored, she'll lightly paw your face, usually catching a lip with a claw. Even at the vet she hardly meows and never hisses, only purrs and rubs up on everyone. I've already spent 15k maxing out my care card and credit card on the blood transfusions and testing, I work full time assisting the homeless while also attending college full time. im willing to go further into debt if need be but credit will only allow me to go so far.

Richard (Jasper)

Richard (Jasper) is a 7 year old Mix-Breed in San Diego, CA, who needs $2,000 for Hospitalization and Diagnostic Testing.

San Diego, CA

I rescued Richard (aka Jasper) 7 years from the Rez dog rescue in Montana. We have been inseparable since. We have lived in many different places from Montana all the way to California. We go hiking and camping as much as we can. Richard loves peaking mountains and swimming in alpine lakes. He’s the sweetest boy and loves all the humans and doggos that we come across. After a hike in Arizona, Richard got diagnosed with valley fever showing mainly the symptom of being lethargic for a week. After a couple weeks of medicine his health plummeted and I brought him into the ER where we found out his kidneys were failing. Yesterday, after he was slightly stabilized, I transferred him to a specialist where he is hospitalized until we figure out a diagnosis. Richard has lived the most adventurous life these past 7 years. From peaking many mountains to slot canyons in the desert, he is always up for the adventure. When traveling solo, I never feel alone because I have him. Richard has been in the hospital for 3 nights with slight improvement, but will need at least another night of care and being on a feeding tube. Without pet insurance, this has been over 15k in bills. Even with the help of savings it has been a struggle to keep up the pay.

San Diego, CA

7 years ago I rescued Richard from the Rez dog rescue in Bozeman, MT. He was only 8 weeks old. Since then we have been inseparable. He is my adventure buddy and we do everything together from peaking mountains to camping trips. He is the sweetest boy and instantly loves anyone he meets. A month ago, Richard and I went on a hike in Arizona and after we returned he was not himself for a bit, very lethargic and tired, after a week I took him into the ER where they suspected valley fever. He was is valley fever meds since. He seemed slightly better after 2 weeks, but started acting very lethargic and lost a ton of weight. His health severely declined and he is now hospitalized. Richard’s favorite activities are hiking and saying hi to any people he meets. He loves going to dog beach and on his daily walks. He always carries such positive energy and is happy to do anything with me. I am currently living in California with him in a tiny home rental that is very costly, but perfect for Richard as he has his own private outdoor space when I am at work. I have a ton of student loans and my parents have supported me, but I cannot afford 15k in bills.

Kitty MeowMeow

Kitty MeowMeow is a 11 year old Ragdoll in lemon grove, CA, who needs $2,000 for Endoscopy, Biopsy. & Histoplasmosis Test.

lemon grove, CA

Kitty came into my life at just 5 weeks old, so small, and fitting in the palm of my hand. Hilariously, my mom said I could not have him. But being the rebel child, and depressed child that I was — I snuck him into the house and had him for about a week until she found out. But after a long battle with my parents, I won, and kitty stayed part of my family. Kitty is a patient at Veterinary Specialty Hospital (VSH) in sorrento valley san diego. He was hit suddenly by extreme GI symptoms, reactionary urinary issues, vomiting, diarrhea and nutrition loss. There are 3 likely possible diagnoses. 1. IBD 2. Small cell lymphoma 3. Histoplasmosis The barrier is that thecosts for these diagnostics is immense, while treatment is more easily affordable Kitty is incredibly funny & trusts me so much and has amazing recall. He grew up with corgis and fully believes he is a dog, pack animal, and frequently herds all house members until we’re on the couch together. He loves to play in “ambush” style - hiding behind things and pouncing. He is famous for his happy chirrups and desire to be involved in all tasks & a little warm cement time. Kitty has helped me through my dad’s sudden death, my becoming more disabled, this pandemic & organizing. He has more happy years left and I want to give him golden years. With my major surgery coming up, I can’t afford this at once. Your support is everything to us.

Porsche

Porsche is a 9-month-old Belgian Malinois Shepherd mix in Imperial Beach, CA, who needs $1,800 for Parvo Treatment.

imperial beach, CA • Save our Sheps rescue

This is Miss Porsche (Pour-sha). She came into the shelter with an embedded collar wound around her neck and appeared neglected. Our Rescue decided to take chance on Porsche, but little did we know, things were about to take a turn. Porsche started to decline within a couple days in her foster (potential adopter's) home. That is when we found out she been exposed to Parvo before our intake. For the few days that we have had Porsche, her foster mom said she had already fallen in love with her. She is so sweet and lovely. Her foster mom stated Porsche would start to cower when she had an accident or threw up in the house. On our end, this made us very sad because her past did not look pretty. We can only hope to give her the best chance at life and a beautiful future to come. Porsche likes to stick her tongue out for pictures and she has a tail wag like no other. Watch out! you may get hit in the face with it! She is spunky, yet very intuitive. She is very loyal and will protect her family if need be. Porsche deserves a fighting chance and we want to give her that chance, but we need your help. Porsche is currently being hospitalized for Parvo. Though no fault of her own, her previous owner failed her by not getting her properly vaccinated. Save our Sheps rescue really wants to help her pull through this. She deserves a fighting chance and a happy ending. Throughout my experience as a former animal control officer, I have always had the passion to save lives and rehabilitate those animals that need us the most. Porsche right now needs us the most. We need help raising funds to get her through this storm.
