Boots

Boots is a 2-year-old Tabby in Hubert, NC, who needs $1,500 for Sepsis treatment resulting from trauma; leg amputation; anorexia.

Hubert, NC

Boots has been in our life since she was 8 weeks old. She is probably the sweetest cat that has ever existed. She is now 2 and is fighting for her life. She has always been a free spirit and roamed from one neighbors house to the next, everyone loved Boots. We had to sell our home and move to an RV park. While there’s many more trees, there are also more “not so cat-friendly” animals. My three-year old and Boots share the same birthday, personality, and bed!! She walks around the house daily yelling “Boots, where are yooooouuuu?” Now that she is at the 24 hour hospital it is heartbreaking to tell her Boots is not home. She is so used to having her to cuddle at night and so sad that she is not there for bedtime. We just want to bring Boots back to her and our little family! Boots will force her live on you, whether you like cats or not. She begins with a soft meow, if you don’t pick her up she will jump up and proceed to crawl up to your neck purring louder than any other cat you’ve heard. She will rub her head on your chin until you just give in and love her back. She has always been this way. Even after her attack she purred all the way to the emergency vet. Boots has went to three different hospitals: Swansboro ER, Riverbank animal hsptl, and now she is at Points East in Wilson, NC for 24hr care for 2-3 days. She was critical last night and going septic. She is now stable and doing much better, her liver quants even improved. She does have to have a blood transfusion and there may be an added surgery if pooling is occurring at the amputation incision Boots can live a long and healthy life with proper treatment. We have exhausted all of our funds at the end of her recovery and just need help getting through sepsis to bring her home. We paid $7000 in four days utilizing every resource we could and are facing $2000+ more.

Diezel

Diezel is a Bull Mastiff puppy in Delevan, NY, who needs $1,900 to replace ligaments and tendons in elbow and place elbow back into socket.

Delevan, NY

Diezel is just 10 months old. He has been with us since he was 7 weeks old. Diezel is one of two other dogs in our family. Diezel is not just our family pet and companion. He is one of my kids. He is my life, best friend, and sidekick. Diezel is the sweetest most gentle giant you will ever meet. He deserves the world. Diezel is a major part of our family. He sleeps with me every single night. He goes everywhere with me. Diezel is my best friend and companion. Diezel enjoys playing with stuffed animals and playing tug o war. He plays with his other fur baby friends Koda and Sadie daily. He loves to play in snow. Diezel is a very sweet loving boy with no mean bone in his body. We get hugs every morning from him. Koda and Sadie Mae are diezel's best friends and they walk side by side even when causing mischief. Diezel will wrap his legs around you like a human and hug you tight, even with visitors he doesn't know. Diezel is also very vocal and will talk to you. When your sad he comforts you, and lick away your tears. Diezel was hit by a car on Monday night of December 10th. He sustained a leg injury that needs surgery to fix. Unfortunately the medical costs are preventing his surgery and recovery. Diezel was bounced from one vet to another and we were treated poorly and a vet denied services to diezel after accepting him in his office. We found another to accept him. I am a single mom currently not working so on a fixed income due to my daughters disability. The surgery diezel needs is over 4,000.00. diezel is one of my kids and getting him healthy and normal again would mean the world to me. He doesn't deserve to be put down.

Photo of Bridger

Bridger

Bridger is a 3-year-old Lynx Point in Hillsboro, OR, who needs $2,000 for Full Mouth Extraction.

Hillsboro, OR

Bubba Blue Eyes aka Bridger - is named after Bridger Bowl Montana. He was our third rescue adoption and our first boy kitten. Having a wife, teenage daughter, and 2 other female cats, I requested that we adopt a boy to even out the boy/girl ratio a bit in our home. He has been a part of our family for 3 years now. He has two older sisters (Apple and Bella). Bridger sleeps in our bed - laying in between me and my wife - after 10 minutes of belly rubs he moves to the bottom of the bed - standing guard over us from the scary noises the house makes at night. He loves being close to us and he trills, gives head bumps, curls up on our laps, uses his paws to reach out and touch us or furniture, and in rare cases he mews - a very timid mew for being 16 lbs. Bridger must have been a dog in a previous life as he comes on command, heels, and even plays fetch with his favorite toys. He loves going for walks in his cat stroller and he is fascinated by the world outside. When I return home from work he greets me with a loving head bump and he even joins the family for dinner as he has his own seat at the dinner table where he gets his favorite treats. At his 3 year check up we were informed that Bridger is suffering from an advanced oral mucosa/dental health issue. He was immediately referred to a cat dentist. Initially he was diagnosed with Stomatitis, but after visiting the oral specialist it was determined that he is dealing with a more severe type of oral infection and unfortunately he will need a full mouth extraction. After a costly divorce/custody battle, refinancing our home to purchase a car, saving for our daughters college, fixing our other cats teeth ($1000) and possibly having to replace our water heater and roof soon, we simply cannot cover a $6000-10000 up front vet bill.

Elvis

Elvis is a 5-year-old Shepard/Lab in Richlands , NC, who needs $2,000 for Hemilaminectomy.

Richlands, NC

Elvis Prancer is the love of my life. We adopted him 5 years ago from a rescue. He actually rescued me! His name was already Elvis and he was 12 weeks old and he knew his name so we kept it. I added on the Prancer because he prances when he walks and runs. He was found buried alive and had many applicants to meet him, but the rescue chose my application. Elvis Prancer has the run of the household. He has a fur brother named Scout Dasher. They sleep in bed with us every night. Elvis loves to play, go on walks, and make new friends at daycare. He absolutely loves butt scratches, belly rubs, and snuggling. He is such a funny, quirky, and amazing boy. He is afraid of the world and very protective of me (his mama), but at home he is the King. I am currently 8.5 months pregnant, with my first child through IVF it was very expensive and we are still paying that off. Elvis’s bill was just under $8,000 and he now requires physical therapy to maybe walk again. I can’t imagine my life without him. I came home from work and Elvis was paralyzed. His back end was completely paralyzed. I was so scared I scooped him up, all 55 lbs of him and me being 8.5 months pregnant. Rushed him to his vet and they couldn’t help him. He needed a specialist, so I drove him over 2 hours away to NC State Vet Hospital for MRI and surgery. His neurologist is Dr. Sabol. Elvis us special because he makes the bad days good. He has this way of making you smile and laugh even when you feel broken. He lets you know what he wants and tells you vocally when it’s time for him to eat, go potty, or when he needs to go on a walk. He absolutely hates thunder or any bad weather. He loves to wear sweaters to calm him down and will fight you when it’s time to take it off.

Daisy

Daisy is a 9-year-old Boxer in Riverside , OH, who needs $1,250 for CCL rupture.

Riverside, OH

Daisy was not originally part of the family since she was my grandparents dog. Ever since she was a puppy she lived with them. My grandfather got her for my grandmother who's dog was very sick. We being my mom and little sister seen her almost on a daily basis for 9 years. So when my grandparents passed in 2020 we couldn't let her go to a shelter. And thats who she now has a sister and 3 brothers. At first the others dogs weren't to happy to have her here being she was a lot bigger than them all. But the two youngest boys welcomed her and cant leave her side. She loves everyone tons of kisses and just because she is 85+ lbs doesn't mean she won't sit right in your lap. She is best friends with the youngest they are always sleeping together or running around causing trouble. Due to the passing of both my grandparents there is many cost that came with it. Daisy is a part of our family, words can not describe the gratefulness and joy to have her back and playing again. she is one of the things that still ties us to a happier time with her love Daisy needs a surgery to fix a torn ligament in her back leg. Since she was injured she hasn't been her energized crazy self. With the torn ligament she has to hop around while being in pain not understanding why she can't move her leg. The surgery we are trying to get her would be done at the Airway Animal Clinic. Daisy has only been with us for little less than 2 months but she has worked her way in to the hearts of not only us but the other animals she lives with. She is our youngest dog's best friend he never goes outside with out her. She is my sisters childhood dog so every now and then you catch them sleeping in a ball together.

Photo of Malcom

Malcom

Malcom is a 16 month old American Shorthair in Wilmington, NC, who needs $2,000 for Blood Transfusion.

Wilmington, NC

We adopted Malcom (Mac) from a kill shelter last July near Wilmington,NC. We wanted to give his older sister Kaia a friend and we truly lucked out. In the last year, he has brought our little family so much joy. He cuddles with me every night, watches the hummingbirds with his sister, loves to be in everyone’s business and is a constant source of smiles and laughter to everyone around him. Mac was diagnosed with PIMA, a very rare autoimmune disease that attacks his red blood cells making him extremely anemic. Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral has supplied him with 3 blood transfusions within the last 3 weeks. He is on 2 meds that could give him a chance at reaching full remission but because PIMA is so rare nothing is guaranteed and the meds can take on average 28 days to work. Mac is a very special boy. He is a big mamas boy aka my best friend and little shadow who follows me everywhere. He also doesn’t know a stranger and brings joy to everyone he meets. He loves to run around our apartment with his big sis and has taught us all what true kindness and loyalty can look like even from the smallest of creatures. Each transfusion has cost ~ $2k and Mac has had 3. I just graduated college last year so I don’t have savings and have been living paycheck to paycheck even before this happened. I am terrified that I will be forced to choose between saving my baby or reaching financial ruin
