Tank

Tank is a 2-year-old English Bulldog in Wilmington, NC, who needs $1,800 for CT scan with contrast, labs, and urinalysis.

Wilmington, NC

We got Tank when he was young but not in the true puppy stage. We were told he was returned to the breeder for an unknown reason and then sold again. We found him on Craigslist and purchased him as the person said she couldn't afford a dog anymore. He lives at home with myself, my girlfriend, and his best friend our 7 yr old daughter. His other playmate is our Shepherd Sasha. When Tank isn't taking the normal Bulldog nap he loves to play. He likes to play tug of war with Sasha and run thru the yard. Tank loves people and will lick you to death when saying hello. He's the first one to greet you when you come to our home. He loves to snuggle up with our daughter. When Tank is sleeping you can hear his snoring throughout the house. Covid has hurt us financially like many others. My girlfriend lost her job and our daughter is home from school. I have the only income in the house and it's a struggle. Tank is part of our family. He makes us laugh and smile. He is my daughters best friend. We love our boy. We began to notice Tank urinating a lot and the urine began to look a dark yellow and had a strong odor. We also witnessed Tank dribbling pee from his rectum at times. I began to research why he may be dribbling pee form his hind end. I found a rare condition called a urethral fistula. The vet treating Tank is Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral. Dr Gulledge. He seems to agree with my concern Tank has his 2 k9 teeth that stick out certain times. If you say Tank show me your teeth he gives you a doggy smile and shows those teeth. Also if you make eye contact with Tank and tilt your head he will tilt his the same direction as you. When sleeping you can tickle his jowls and he will let out a loud snore and flip over to his back. Tank is also a bed hog and will steal your blankets.

Heidi

Help Heidi Beat the Odds

Maryland Hgts, MO • On My Way to Furever Rescue

This petite, 5 year-old German Shepherd has already survived more than most dogs ever should. For years, Heidi lived on a cold concrete slab, used only for breeding litter after litter of puppies. When she was no longer profitable, she was discarded and scheduled to be euthanized. OMWTF stepped in, even knowing the odds. Bigger dogs. Black dogs. Dogs who are no longer puppies. They’re often overlooked. Still, we believed what we know to be true: Heidi deserves to live. She deserves love. When she first arrived in foster care, Heidi was timid and unsure. The world had not been kind to her. Every new space felt like a threat. But over the past six months, something beautiful has happened. Heidi now sleeps curled up on a warm, soft bed. She joyfully romps and plays with other dogs. She welcomes affection. The frightened breeding dog has blossomed into a companion. She has overcome so much. Yet one painful reminder of her past remains. Years of neglect have taken a serious toll on Heidi’s teeth. Heavy plaque coats them, and several of her bottom teeth have turned black. The damage is more than cosmetic, it’s painful. Our veterinarian says she urgently needs a full dental cleaning under sedation to relieve her discomfort and help save her teeth. After everything Heidi has endured, she deserves to live without pain. Will you help us give this sweet girl the healthy smile she’s never had? Your gift will go directly toward Heidi’s dental procedure, easing her pain and protecting her health. Together, we can make sure the rest of Heidi’s life is filled with warmth, safety, and comfort.

Maverick

Maverick is a 6-month-old Great Dane in Lake Hiawatha , NJ, who needs $2,000 for Foreign Body Surgery.

Lake Hiawatha, NJ

We rescued maverick from St Huberts because we wanted to get my older dog a companion. Let’s be honest who doesn’t want a cute puppy. A day after we got him he was hospitalized due to phenomena and kennel cough. The shelter never told us the puppy was sick and when we asked the shelter for help they denied. Maverick had to stay in the hospital for 3 days and 2 nights. We live in a house. Maverick loves to go on walks and loves to go swimming. He sleeps right in the middle of the big beds and hogs the best. He is a very loud snorer and must be in the middle of me and my boyfriend. He gets mad when you try and disturb him in the middle of the night. He loves his new baby brother who is 1 month older than him. He got the puppy so my son and him could grow up together. He has the cutest ears ever! He was with a litter of 3 and he chose us. He is playful and crazy! After 3 hospitalized surgeries we now understood why this dog chose us. My son just started crawling and he tries to slide underneath him while crawling. He loves to play with him doggie brother Cash. Maverick has had 3 abdominal surgeries. He had 2 blockages within a month apart. The second blockage they needed to remove some of his small intestine to fix it. A couple days after surgery we rushed him to the ER where he had complications from past surgery. He needed to go under after to remove the part they fused the small intestine. It was life or death surgery. We knew he was a fighter. We are over $30,000 in debt. We need help. We are maxed out on credit cards. We had a down payment for a house which is gone. Thank god my parents let us live with them. We have no more savings. We had to take some money out of my sons bank account.

Peony

Peony is a 9 year old Mix-Breed in Lauderhill, FL, who needs $1,500 for diagnostics and treatment for liver condition.

Lauderhill, FL • Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc.

Peony is the kind of cat who makes friends instantly. He adores people, gets along beautifully with other animals, and is always ready to lean in for pets and affection. His gentle personality and sweet nature have earned him a special nickname at Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation — “the lover boy.” But right now, Peony isn’t feeling like himself. Recent bloodwork revealed abnormal liver enzymes, raising concern for possible liver disease. Shortly after, Peony developed jaundice (icterus), a serious condition that causes yellowing of the skin and eyes and signals that his liver is struggling. This is a critical moment for Peony, and he needs ongoing treatment to give his body the best chance to recover. Peony is currently receiving daily steroids and IV fluids to support his liver and help his body heal. These treatments are essential, but they come with mounting veterinary costs. His care requires close monitoring, medications, fluids, and follow-up testing to track his progress and adjust treatment as needed. Despite everything, Peony remains the affectionate, loving cat everyone knows. He still leans into gentle pets and seeks comfort from the people caring for him. He’s fighting — and we want to give him every chance to win. Your donation today will help provide: • Daily steroid treatment • IV fluids and supportive care • Ongoing veterinary monitoring • Follow-up bloodwork • The chance for Peony to recover and thrive Peony has given nothing but love — now he needs love in return. Every contribution helps support his treatment and brings him closer to healing. Please donate and share Peony’s story. Together, we can help this sweet “lover boy” feel better and get back to doing what he loves most: loving everyone he meets.

Jax

Jax is a 7 year old Mix-Breed in Sudbury, ON, who needs $5,000 for Orthotic ACL Surgery.

Sudbury

When my mother passed away in 2017, I bought Jax First Support and Therapy to get me through this. So far, he has lived up to everything. The love I get from him is very unconditional. When Jax was 5 years old, I went through a really bad toxic separation, so I got him a baby brother named Baz. Without these two by my side, I probably wouldn't be here today, as they have gotten me through so much. Jax & his brother love going to the dog park and meeting other friends. Unfortunately, it was a mild day in winter 2024. He was so excited to be there. He tore his ACL in his knee immediately I took him to his veterinarian, Walden Animal Hospital in Lively, Ontario. In his examination, they found that he tore his ACL and the cost was gonna be $5000-$6000 for surgery. I didn't have that money, Jax has a very good personality he is mostly always smiling, especially at the dog park. He loves people and he loves when people pay attention to him. Jax & his brother Baz are both of my therapy dogs. They are very special to me because if it weren't for them, I would not be here today. I can guarantee you that they mean the world to me, and all I can do is hope and pray that he gets some help. Like I said, I have been through a Talk separation. I'm very low-income on ODSP. I have disabilities and it wouldn't mean the world to me to have my baby healthy again and in no pain anymore despite the pain meds he's been taking and the brace that he takes off every time.
