Loki

Loki is a 3-year-old German Shepard Husky Mix in Somerset, VA, who needs $2,000 for CCL Disease-TPLO Surgery.

Somerset, VA

Where do I start with this little nugget? I got him at 8 weeks old from a local shelter during the pandemic. He was such a troublemaker as a puppy, but who could stay mad at his cute face? He grew up with a cat that was not a fan of sharing the attention. Right now, we live on a farm where he loves running around and chasing bunnies. He also loves going on long runs (as seen in the video). Loki loves going on long runs around the farm, especially getting his zoomies out at the creek. He loves the water but hates baths. He loves everyone so long as they either give him butt scratches or treats. He will steal things off the counter if I’m not looking. And he's true to his husky side in being such a sassy pup–he will talk back if he doesn't get his way. Loki loves playing with his best friend, LadyBug, but since he's been hurt, she just lays down with him to ensure he's okay. He absolutely loves playing with his squeaky ball in the snow. And he takes full advantage of his husky nature, talking back to get his way–it’s adorable. Loki has also been instrumental in supporting my mental health and helping calm my anxiety with his loyal companionship. Loki was diagnosed with a torn CCL and needs surgery. We spoke with his primary vet and went to get a second opinion from the specialist office, where they confirmed the diagnosis. Loki has his surgery scheduled for Sept 26th. I'm struggling financially, and the quote is 5k, but I want to make sure he’ll live a long, happy life. Unfortunately, despite working full-time, I’m barely making ends meet. Loki is still so young, with years of playing, zooming, and snuggles ahead of him. He's half German Shepherd, and they tend to have issues with their hind legs, which I want to address before they worsen.

Princess

Princess is a 10-year-old Boxer in Punta Gorda, FL, who needs $1,480 for Enucleation.

Punta Gorda, FL

Princess was an accidental liter so was sold cheap for a pure bread boxer...my now ex husband and I got her after our wedding and move to North Carolina....she was absolutely beautiful!!! My ex wouldn't pick a name so I was calling her pretty girl while training her, when he finially picked a name she ignored him so he tried P names nothing then he called her princess she responded right away. Princess lives up to her name...she has 2 seli postrapedic dog beds one in the living room and one in my bedroom both with blankets on them. She also has free rane of the couch, recliners and my bed! She has a big corner lot yard to play in. During the week I work the neighbors take my two dogs to thier house for play dates with thier dogs. She also is all about her treats! Princess's best friend is my lab/mutt Warrior Joey, the are inseparable! Princess is his protector. She is an absolute goofball with hoses and sprinklers she attacks the water! She use to love to destroy toys, but now she is obsessed with blanks...she has to have one on her dog bed and one in my bed. She is also a crowd favorite at the dog park with other dogs and humans. This is for a surgery to remove a tumor and her eye. The tumor will most likely come back, but the removal of her eye will keep her from being in pain. She is still vibrant and full if life just want to give her a less painful life. I just want to make sure she has the best quality of life possible. She is my sweet baby girl and both myself and her best friend/brother Warrior would miss her. Recently divorced and still trying to get out of debt from that....work full time and driving for lyft a couple evenings a week. Taken her to the vet 3 times and still trying to pay that off. This is just way more then I can afford currently.

Acacia

Acacia is a 7-year-old Boxer Mix in Atwater, OH, who needs $1,000 for Diagnosis and Treatment.

Atwater, OH

I got Acacia when I was just 20 years old, still a kid myself. We have grown up together. We have moved many times and adventures many places together. In her younger days I took her everywhere I went and met a lot of different dogs and people. She has been through every major life event in my adult life and is now part of the major life event. Acacia loves long naps on the couch of course. Where else would she be? She is most interested though, in food and being outside. She is an absolute free spirit and would do just fine on her own. While she’s fond of chasing just about any toy her absolute favorite thing ever is to chase her “stick”. Whether a real stick or her toy stick she gets no better joy than chasing a stick. Even as she has aged Acacia has been all about playing and rough housing. She is constantly alert and ready to go. She particularly enjoys chasing cats away from the porch. In the home she always wants to play tug a war and then act like she doesn’t know how to play. She wants you to pull but won’t pull back until you really encourage her. She adores sleep like no other at the same time. I took her into my local vet as her leg had swollen up. I mistakenly thought she had just sprained it. X-rays showed she very well may have lesions and the swelling continues to progress. I will have a full consultation done on Monday May 22,2023 to determine the best course of action. This was all very sudden and out of nowhere. I am trying to figure myself out as I go through this process. As we speak I am currently about to start attending college again. I have plans and dreams of being a teacher that I need to pursue. This is one of the most unexpected events I didn’t take into account.

Photo of Koromaru

Koromaru

Koromaru is a 2-month-old Toy Australian Shepard in Bronx, NY, who needs $2,000 for Treatment for Parvovirus.

Bronx, NY

We recieved our loving boy Koromaru on march 31st. He is a tri-color australian shepard who is very loving, energetic and affectionate. hes very talkitive and loves playing with toys and investigating new things. He loves to snuggle with you and comfort you if you are feeling down or are just tired. He loves my kids, my wife and myself. He is always playing with his doggie toys, figuring out how to get into nooks and crannies around the house, and with playing with the kids. He loves to power nap and whenever we come inside the front door he is running up to us to greet us, so we pick him up and show him how much we appreciate him. He is special to us because everything Koramaru does puts a smile on our face. He is very inquisitive and loves to cok his head which is amazing. He is my son and we really love all his quirkiness. You cannot help but smile when you see him. He brings joy to everything and his positive additude is contagious. We noticed that Koramaru's energy level was low one day and he did not want to eat which was unusual. The earliest vet appointment we could make was the next day so we took him in. At the vet they took a parvo test of him and it came back positive. The vets recommendation was to take him to a animal hospital which we did, and he was admitted right away. The cost for his treatment was estimated at 6,598.45 with 50% having to be paid up front. We are a struggling family who did not have that money but managed to scrounge up the 50%. We are now trying to figure out how to pay the rest.

Jake Orton

Jake Orton is a 4-year-old Great Dane in Owego, NY, who needs $1,416 for Surgical Removal of Mass and Biopsy.

Owego, NY

Hello, my name is Kelli and my fur baby AKA soul mate is Jake. I have never had a great dane before so I said why not!! So I went on this web site called puppy finders and found this cute little man and had him flown all the way here from Iowa. Me and his dad and the rest of his family went an hour and a half to get him in a snow storm and it was love at first site. He is a family member to all.. Jake is a very loyal and loving dog. He is very protective of his girls and family. He always snuggles with us on the bed, well he usually takes up most of the bed. He will always follow us around and is a nosey nelly.. He is very kind with our kitten and tries very hard to be careful not to step on her. Jake is special to me because I can feel his love. Every time I come home from work I know he will be there to great me with a dane hug. He is a huge goofball, he gets the zoomies after a bath, slobbers all over my walls and counters, no privacy in the bathroom and he thinks he is a lapdog. He even stole my ham. BUT, that's why I love him…its my Jake from state farm. Would not want him any other way Jake has a sore on the outside of his penis that is open and bleeding. I have taken him to our veterinarian, and they also found one on the actual prepuce part with a mass behind it. They need to remove the mass and do a biopsy to see if its a deep pyoderma or a cancerous tumor. His surgery is January 4 2023 This is an unexpected financial need. We have tried for a loan, tried to up our care credit and we cannot get anything. We need help. Please I love my dog and I at least need to try.

Photo of Phoebe

Phoebe

Phoebe is a 5-month-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Temecula , CA, who needs $897 for Enucleation.

Temecula, CA • Huey's Rescue

A Good Samaritan called the local animal control department because her neighbor’s cat was injured after reportedly being caught in a motor of a vehicle. One of the officers went out and confirmed that little Wheezie (renamed Phoebe by the foster parent) was, in fact, injured and that her owner was not able to afford any vet care Phoebe is currently 1 out of 7 foster pets (3 cats and 4 guinea pigs). She is extremely loving and playful and you can hear her little motor boat running from across the room. Even at the vets office she was purring up a storm. It'll be hard to give her up for adoption but she deserves a wonderful home where she is the star. My husband and I will continue to care for her until she's healthy Phoebe had a hard start to her life. She was stuck in a car/engine and barely made it out. Her eye was irreparably damaged, the tips of her ears were singed off, and she was left with a pretty severe limp. Through everything she has not complained once. She has been a non stop motor boat of purrs. She deserves the world. My husband took little Phoebe to the veterinarian for an initial exam while I was at work. We feared she needed the eye removed and she was also limping. Doctor Pavlock determined an enucleation would be necessary. The vet also took radiographs of her humerus and saw callus formation and displacement. The vet decided to take a wait and see approach on the leg, but the eye is urgent. Phoebe's initial visit was around $280 and her surgery will be another $900ish. We are a small rescue with several other medical babies. I have pledged $400 of my own money towards her care.

Coco

Coco is a 12-year-old Shih Tzu in Dallas, TX, who needs $900 for Multiple Health Issues.

Dallas, TX • Pooch Savers Rescue

Coco's owner needed to go into assisted living. Unfortunately no family members were willing or able to take her, so without rescue, the families plan was EU! She was delivered to us wrapped in a blanket, nearly motionless, eyes and ears crusted over and matted. Pooch Savers' tag line is, "Every dog deserves a second chance"...that said, we took her to see what we could do. Coco's first day was getting shaved down, especially around the eyes and ears...lots of matting, then a long overdue bath...the next few days were spent at the vets office for a head-to-toe assessment of her condition, as we needed to know what we were looking. Assessment included xrays, teeth, ears, eyes, blood tests, needle aspirate of large lump, check of heart and lungs, heartworm test! Results...severally ulcerated eyes due to Dry Eye; advanced periodontal disease; severe ear infection; lump was determined to be a non-malignant lipoma; xrays showed nothing of concern, blood results were normal and heart and lungs were strong! We were very hopeful that we could treat her other issues and we'd have a viable pup! Under the guidance of our veterinarians, we began treating her conditions. The eyes seemed to be causing the most discomfort, so a medicated ointment was applied to them for a two week period to heal the ulcers, after which a compounded eye lubricant for the rest of her life. The ears required hair removal and steroids. A full dental cleaning that required numerous extractions. It's been several weeks now and Coco is a new dog! She has a strong appetite, loves to play and watch TV...now it's up to us to find a forever home worthy of such a strong spirit. Pooch Savers tag line is, Every Dog Deserves a Second Chance, Coco is proof positive!
