We adopted Pooh from a friend who could no longer care for her. We lovingly adopted her and fell in love with her instantly. She shares our home with two other chihuahua mixes that she knows as her brother and sister now. Pooh completed family when she came into our lives. Recently, Pooh seemed a bit under the weather and we noticed she started to decline more. We took to the local vet to see about getting her well.. But Pooh’s diagnosis will require life long treatment and we are committed to do whatever it takes to care for her. Pooh was diagnosed with diabetes. Pooh is so full of character and so loving. She really loves being a part of our silly family. We cannot imagine life without her. She is like one of children and we will fight to give her a best life. She loves her sister and brother. She loves to talk to her grandma on FaceTime every night. My mom will call to talk to all 3 dogs and all 3 respond back to her. She deserves a good life. Pooh’s diagnosis was not expected as We just moved from another state and incurred expenses.The vet bill is going to be expensive as she is currently at the vet (3 days so far) to regulate her glucose levels. Medication will be lifelong & daily. No including her vaccines

Jasper

Jasper is a 5 year old Shetland Sheepdog in Los Angeles, CA, who needs $2,000 for X-Ray, Blood Work, & MRI or CT Myleography.

Jasper is a Shetland Shepherd who found me three years ago during the firework celebrations on Fourth of July. I took him in before returning him to his original owner. A few nights later, he returned and I reasoned with his owners that I should take care of him with my two other dogs (Poe, a cockerpoodle, and Lilo, a maltese). He's been happy at home with me for three years now! Dr. Cho at the Afforadable Animal Hospital NOHO has provided medication, taken blood work, and conducted X-Rays for what he concludes is: 1. Multifocal thoracic and lumbar spondylosis 2. Degenerative lumbosacral disease 3. Bilateral coxofemoral osteoarthritis But, he needs to conduct more tests--an MRI or CT myelography--to determine the presence of a compressive myelopthy/radiculoneuropathy. Japser is a silly, timid, and goofy friend who loves playing with any size stick, ball, or chew toy. He always looks out for who's entering the front gate with a "wooh ooh!" and will become easily shaken by loud noises, like fireworks. He gets frightened by balloons or wide, floating, or hanging objects. He's very cuddly and loyal and is always ready to play or go for a walk! I am a full-time artist, muralist, and painting teacher. My annual income is below $15,000 a year and I am paying off past medical bills and rent. I currently live at home with my parents. Jasper needs all the help he can get right now.

Dior came into our lives 4 years ago and we fell absolutely in love with her. She’s is so sweet with such a unique personality and she can never be replaced! We raised her since she has been born. Dior is suffering from IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease). Her hind leg stopped functioning and it’s affecting her ability to even use the bathroom. The cost of the surgery is just over $10,000. Dior is such a sweet girl to all living creatures. She is incredibly smart and knows so many tricks for a treat. She loves to play with anyone who she comes across. We love her little snorts and cuddles and life would not be the same without her! Tough times have fallen to most of us but if there are those out there who can spare anything it would mean the world to us. Hank

Hank is a 10 year old Mix-Breed in Chico, CA, who needs $2,000 for CT Scan and Mass Removal.

Hank came home from the Oakland Shelter in 2013 when he was only 9 weeks old with his brother, Cash. A bonded pair, Hank is destined to join his brother in Hawai’i one day, but for now he lives in Chico, Ca with his doggie friend, Schotzi. Hank has recently been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in the soft tissue of his abdomen by the wonderful staff at VCA Valley Oak. The fibrosarcoma that extends off his body has been confirmed via biopsy. His doctor requests a CT scan to ensure he can get the whole tumor and the green light for a major surgery to remove this growth plus 3cm margins. Hank quickly became my best friend, my son, and my world. My life was really hard when he entered it; I struggled deeply with depression and an abusive relationship. The love and support Hank gave me by being himself and loving me…I’ve always said he’s the reason I’m alive today. Now I’m a mom, a grad student, and a preschool teacher. My life is whole and on track, and I owe him the world for it. I am a full-time grad student, and my spouse is a local truck driver. I am a preschool teacher over the summer and do receive moderate scholarships, but they don’t pay the debt that’s built during my schooling and certainly won’t cover Hank’s surgery, even though I’ve tried.

Kyra

Kyra is a 2 year old Rottweiler in Summerfield , FL, who needs $2,000 for Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE).

Kyra came to us at the age of 6 months. Before moving in with us she was a hold back at the breeder that they decided to sell, she lived primarily in a kennel. She would not even come us when we met her. She was very shy and scared. Then she came home and warmed up to her older sister Kassy. They are 2 peas in a pod. She learned what being loved felt like and boy she knows how to give it back! On June 27th after a few days of being blah and not eating we brought her vet. We received the devasting diagnosis of Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. We opted to bring her to the University of Florida Small Animal Specialty Hospital in Gainsville. She has been in ICU with a good prognosis but she needs Plasma Transfers, this part is going to push over what we currently have available for funds. Our Kyra is our babygirl. She is an ambassador for the breed, demonstrating that the breed is gentle, loving, and full of character. She is very close to our 5-year-old grandson, who she will follow and they will cuddle with lots of Kyra kisses. She looks forward to belly rubs from whoever walks in the door, hanging with her lab mix sister and ball is life! We can not imagine losing her! We moved to Florida April 2023, recently my husband returned to work after being out for 6 years with heart issues. We are digging out of 6 years of debit. Kyra is my heart; without her, I am physically sick. A piece of me is missing a big piece and I really want her home.

I met “Tony” about 5 years ago, when I was setting out the TNR cages around my house. “Tony” liked the bait tuna so much, he ended up getting trapped 3 times! “Tony” was seen on 6-3-2024 at the Santa Cruz Veterinary Clinic on 12th Ave. He received antibiotic and steroid injections for mild caudal mucosites. I have documentation that his upper K9’s are broken and infected ones need to be removed. “Tony” is a super affectionate “lover boy”, who follows me everywhere and demands to be petted whenever I get home and he sees me. He gets along w/ all the Community cats and my Chihuahua, who he lets lick his ears! They sometimes even sleep next to each other. I have a limited income and “Tony’s” dental treatment is estimated to be $600.-$800. I was sad to see him losing weight and just not acting his normal self, when I took him to be seen at the clinic. I understand the injections he received are just a temporary fix.

Kiwi was born in Sunny San Diego, CA, which is also where I had rescued him. During my meet-and-greet with Kiwi, he instantly climbed into my lap and proceeded to nuzzle my sweatshirt in an attempt to get underneath it. At that very moment, my father had said, “he’s the one” and I couldn’t agree more. Fun Fact: Kiwi is named after New Zealand! Kiwi has experienced significant blunt trauma to his front right leg due to a horse pawing at him. This resulted in an open fracture, the breaking of both leg bones (Radial and Ulna), an infection, a visit to the ER, as well as a trip to the specialty hospital for surgery to implant plates and screws. Kiwi is also living with Cushing’s Disease and continues to exemplify positivity each day. Kiwi is the most adventurous, gregarious and exploratory little man with a happy soul. Kiwi has joined me in traveling all around the US, and loves to be carried in his backpack or “porta-bed” (doggy purse). He loves to be outdoors and strives to be included in all sorts of activities and is eager to capture the heart of each and every person he meets. To Kiwi, you are always enough. This year has been tough for me and has left me with many unexpected financial burdens. I am seeking support for Kiwi with the hopes of extending the incredible bond and partnership we share, plus the knowledge that he has many more years to live and adventures that await.

Lincoln found me after being released into the wild from one of my friends awhile later. He saved my life by giving me purpose. We've been together 24 years he is 31ish we have been through ups and downs I used to be very depressed. He has a few other cats that he's helped me choose over the years with us. We go for walks and rides. We would like to continue this adventure. And we need help. I am not sure what is wrong we will be going to Tanasbourne Veterinary Emergency. Or the pet clinic in Salem. He's lethargic, drinks a tiny amount of water. Isn't reactive to food like doesn't go for it. Licks what I put on my finger out of trust but if too much throws it up. Pees but I figure he's running out of that. No #2 no meowing normally talks alot. Doesn't hide but doesn't cuddle. Lincoln saved my life while I was in extreme depression multiple times. When he's well he expresses his joy for seeing me and anyone that I bring around. He takes care of his adopted family lemon and lexi. He's primal yet gentle. He is my friend and I agape love him. I miss him when I work and he loves when I return. We go for walks. But not lately. All I know is... this love is real. I live paycheck to paycheck for years while working 70 hours a week. I don't do Activities which cost money. I simply don't have any savings. It's just me and my cats. It would mean the world to me if we could spend more time especially considering what is going on.

Moki was a gift from my fiance'. I was going through severe anxiety that was making me physically sick. He thought she would help me. She has been my faithful companion ever since. She helped me pull out of the worst depression I had ever suffered when I lost my Father in a hit-and-run accident in 2013 on my birthday. She knew when I was hurting the most and she was always by my side comforting me Moki needs surgery to fix her hip. I tripped and accidentally stepped on her. She wasn't where I had last seen her and I was trying to prevent Nyxie from making a mess with the beads I had been working on. Her screams broke my heart and all I could do was hold her and apologize over and over again. We took her straight to the vet where they told us how bad her injury was. Moki which is short for Macchiato. Has been my tiny little hero. She has helped me through several crippling anxiety issues. She bonded with all my children, 3 of them had special needs. She has always been a joy to love and she has always known who needed her love and given it. I am on disability and I survive month to month barely on what I get from SSI and TANIF. There is no way I can come up with the money for her much-needed hip surgery. The longer she goes without surgery the more impact it will have on her mobility and quality of life.
