Life-Threatening Labor — Help Lulu Get Emergency Care Now

Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates

Lulu has always been the one giving comfort — now she urgently needs it herself. This sweet, devoted dog has been by her owner’s side through the unthinkable. As her mom battles Stage III lung cancer, Lulu has been a constant source of love, companionship, and emotional support. Through every appointment, every difficult day, and every moment of uncertainty, Lulu has been there. Now, Lulu is in a life-threatening crisis. She has been in labor for more than 36 hours, and a puppy is stuck in the birth canal with his legs already protruding. She is exhausted, in pain, and her life is in immediate danger. Without emergency intervention, both Lulu and her puppies could be lost. The only way to save her is an emergency C-section — and it must happen right away. Her owner is already facing overwhelming medical challenges and simply cannot afford the cost of this urgent surgery. The thought of losing Lulu — her emotional lifeline during the hardest fight of her life — is devastating. We’re asking for your help to give Lulu a chance to survive and return home to the person who needs her most. Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly toward Lulu’s emergency surgery and lifesaving care. If you’re unable to give, sharing her story can still make a huge difference. Please help us save Lulu — a loyal companion, a source of comfort, and a dog who deserves the same love she has given so freely. Thank you for standing with Lulu and her mom during this critical moment.

Lego

Lego is a 4 month old Mix-Breed in Chesapeake, VA, who needs $1,500 for Amputation, spay, vaccination and recovery.

Chesapeake, VA • Rebas Animal Rescue

Four-month-old Lego was found alone on the roadside, her tiny body trembling and her leg shattered—most likely hit by a car. 💔 Even through the pain, she still purred when someone reached to comfort her. That spark of trust reminded us why we do what we do—because every life deserves a chance to heal and be loved again. Our vet partners at Grant Vet Care evaluated Lego, and determined she needed surgery to stop the pain and give her a real chance at life. Thanks to the quick response of our CARE Fund and the generosity of donors, Lego’s amputation was performed right away. She came through bravely and is already learning to balance, play, and explore again—fearless on three legs and full of heart. Lego’s surgery and recovery are expected to cost around $1,500. After surviving such a traumatic injury, she now needs continued medical care, rest, and love to fully heal. Your support will help cover her surgery expenses, follow-up treatments, and the gentle care that will carry her into a healthy, happy life. Every donation brings her closer to that fresh start she’s fought so hard to earn. 🧡 Your gift doesn’t just help Lego heal—it keeps our mission alive. Every donation strengthens our ability to respond when the next injured or abandoned animal needs urgent care, turning moments of suffering into second chances and hope. 🧡

Kevin

Kevin is a 8-year-old Tabby in Ellensburg, WA, who needs $2,000 for Dental Surgery.

Ellensburg, WA • Josie's Misfit Ranch

8-year-old Kevin came to us from our friends at Kittitas County Friends of Animals. While he had past asthma issues, it was his serious dental problems that caused him to live in pain and unable to eat. After 2 dental surgeries that were over $3500, Kevin's finally thriving at his new foster's home. He’s a purr-machine and an absolute love bug! His foster family includes adults and 2 teenage kids whom he gets along very well with. He's a social cat who thrives on attention and an available lap. Since his dental surgeries, Kevin has been gaining weight and becoming more confident and playful. He’s very affectionate and just wants to give and receive love. He also has a motor you can head across the room. And now that he's pain free after 2 extensive dental surgeries, Kevin is finally acting like the cat he was destined to become. While he's 8-years-old, he acts more like a kitten. Kevin stopped eating for several days; his amazing vet at Valley Vet shared that his teeth were some of the worst he’s seen. It was painful for him to eat and he lost several lbs. 2 surgeries, 10 extracted teeth, pain medication, and antibiotics later, Kevin is now thriving. However, he's scheduled to have his remaining teeth extracted next month. Due to Kevin's extensive dental surgeries and another one scheduled for next month, his vet bills are over $3500. As a new Central Washington animal rescue, we do not have the funds to pay for his vet bills. We are an all volunteer, 100% donation based 501(c)(3).

Sky

Sky is a three-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in Cortaro, AZ, who needs $2,000 for emergency care.

Cortaro, AZ • HOPE Animal Shelter

No one knows what happened to Sky before she came to HOPE Animal Shelter. All rescuers knew was that she was a stray cat who was very sick. You could tell by looking at her watery, heavy eyes that she felt miserable. "Sky wasn’t eating, and the situation was dire," Susan S., the executive director of the shelter, tells Waggle. "I was very worried. She was breathing with her mouth open. We brought her to our emergency vet, and she was diagnosed with pneumonia." Dr. Karyn Carlson and her staff at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson immediately gave Sky antibiotics and IV fluids. She's been in the animal hospital for days fighting for her life. The shelter needs help paying for Sky's mounting medical costs. Every pet owner knows each day an animal spends in the ER usually ends with a big bill. The rescue says Sky is worth it and shows a lot of promise. "When she first came to the shelter, she wanted no part of us, but now she's turned into a little love bug. When I went to visit her at the vet, she came and curled into my lap and sat there," Susan adds. Donations keep HOPE Animal Shelter's doors open, and without their organization's love, care, and devotion, many animals would suffer. "We were the first no-kill shelter in our city, and many of the animals will live their entire lives in our care because of behavioral or medical problems," Susan says. "We will take animals from other shelters who are at high risk, have behavioral problems, or medical issues." 2020 was a rough year for everyone-- with your help, Sky will have an incredible new year, hopefully with a family who loves her.
