Charles was one of the surviving pups from his litter after his pregnant mama was dumped at the Legacy Humane Society by a breeder. Charles was doing well until recently. His foster parent noticed he was urinating blood and raced him to the animal hospital. This adorable, loving pup has bladder stones and needs them removed immediately. Now the humane society is rushing to raise the money for his surgery and have his stones sent to pathology to understand what caused his condition. "With the surgery, he will go on to live a long puppy life," Molly B., with the Legacy Humane Society, tells Waggle. "The bladder stones will not impact his quality of life." Harley started visiting us 1.5yrs ago. He visits at night because we feed him and love him. He is a big sweetie. He came to our garage on Friday 3-6-2026 with facial bleeding and blood coming out of his nose. This was at 11:30pm. We took him to the emergency vet in the morning. "Animal Hospital of Centerton". Harley was hit by a car and had a busted lower lip, blood out his nose. Emergency vet stated that he had a busted upper palette. He had his broken palette surgery done the next day at "Rose Animal Clinic" Dr. Jones-surgeon. Harley is a big loveable sweetie. He is always welcomed here!! He's got a great deep purr, which adds to his lovability. He interacts wonderfully with our other two cats. One male, the other female. Never a problem. My friend and I are permanently disabled and live on a very tight budget. But we could not let this fine animal suffer, nor would we put him down. Not after vet informed us that he would survive the accident after surgery, with special care. Which we are giving!!

Dakota

We adopted Dakota in September 2021 from a rescue shelter. He is 2 1/2 now & suddenly started vomiting on Sept 27th, a few trips to our vet & to an urgent care facility but his symptoms got worse over a few days & he developed bloody diarrhea as well. We hospitalized him on Sept 30th into a 24hr speciality care clinic to manage his issues. Dakota had been the best dog I have ever met, I'm sure every pet owner says that. He lives with his brother Jax, myself, my wife Jill & my two daughters Kendall & Sierra. He has a funny, goofy & playful personality launching himself off our recliner to our couch & zooming around the house. He has brought so much joy to our family & every person he has met. Dakota has that "it" factor. Dakota has so much personality, between his couch launching abilities, his love for people, he has never growled or barked at other dogs & greets them with nothing but play in mind. He makes me smile every time I see him. Dakota was diagnosed with Acute Hemorrhagic Diarrhea Syndrome & Severe Esophogitis. He was seen by our vet at San Marcos Veterinary Clinic with Dr. Ichord & then admitted to Veterinary Specialty Hospital with 4-6 doctor's for supportive care. We maxed out our care credit card & another card, applied to 6 different foundations for grants & spread his story on all social media sites telling his story. I submitted his story to NBC7, Fox5 & KPBS in hopes more people can help. Dakota is our world.

Weston used to be spy until he was burned. Named after the character Michael Weston from Burn Notice, as it was one of my favorite shows and I was so sad after watching the last epiosde. Weston is Justin and I's first furbaby. We rescued him the year we got married and purchased our first home. We were so happy to have him join our family and he made our house feel like a home. Our young daughter received a present for making frienship bracelets with beads and elastic string. She went to her room, to keep this item out of harms way as no animals typically enter her room. Unfortuntely Weston, chose this moment to go stealth mode and ingest the top secret and highly dangerous elastic string. This caused a blockage in his small intestines requiring emergency surgery. Weston is a really special Cat. He is so social and friendly. He was affectionately referred to as our cat-dog in his younger years. When our son was learning to walk, being able to play with Weston motivated him to work on his balance and speed. He would run around the house with a measuring ribbon as Weston chased him. Weston never batted anyone with his claws out. This year has been challenging as we went from a double income family to a single income family. We have made a lot of sacrifices to be able to continue to provide for our family, and we couldn't bear to part with our animal.

We got our dog kyo about 6 years ago, from a family that was unable to care for him anymore. He was being left outside and not getting the attention needed. We responded to the post and immediately fell in love. He was a handful at first, bringing him home and trying to re train him was no easy task. But since then he has been a great dog for our family. We have 4 kids and another dog. He doesn't really play with other dogs too much, but he loves tug of war with humans. The kids love kyo because he looks like a mean dog, but he is really a big softie. They feel protected knowing that he will ward off any intruders with his angry looks, then go snuggle in bed on top of them. We are on an extremely tight budget at this point in our lives. Im unable to pay for any of the tests to determine what is causing issues with kyo. Before covid I might have been able to find a vet that would take payments. I've even looked into shelters as a last resort. A few months ago we started noticing kyo whining when he went outside to poop. We figured it might be his glands being swollen so we looked up what we could give him to help. We got a few remedies and it seemed to help. He passed a softball sized poop, but eventually kept getting worse. We took him to trilogy veterinary care and they gave us an estimate of the tests needed. Kyo goes ape sh!t for walks! As soon as I grab the leash he is hoping around the house making all sorts of noises. He is a very vocal dog. He let's me know as soon as he is out of food or water, or if he needs anything. His body language is really easy to read. Kyo probably has the most personality out any dog I've ever had.

Claire

Claire is a four-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix in Rockwall, TX, who needs $1,000 for urgent surgery.

Someone may have dumped Claire on the side of the road. Then she went into labor, right along the highway! Soon after, things got even worse. Claire suffered severe complications during her delivery. Her life was on the line. But it appeared no one cared about Claire, and no one was coming to her rescue -- until a good Samaritan spotted her. That person called animal control. An officer rushed out and raced Claire to the Rockwall Adoption Center. X-rays and an ultrasound revealed three puppies were stuck. The shelter veterinarian performed emergency surgery, but sadly the puppies passed away. If Claire didn't have the operation, she would have died. Now Claire is doing well and is up for adoption. But the animal shelter needs your help raising the money to pay for Claire's medical bills. "Claire is just one of many animals in need that have come into our care recently, and they deserve nothing less than the best," Molly B., from the shelter, tells Waggle. "Claire is a very sweet and loving girl despite how she came to us. She will hopefully be able to find her furever home soon. After all she has been through, she deserves a loving family that can see how special she is." Please give to help Claire and the shelter!

Sophie

After renting our first place together, my partner Cody and I were ready to adopt two kitties into our home. When we first met Sophie, she was the sweetest kitten we had ever met and we knew she would be a part of our family. She is best known as our doorman and welcomer to guests, the cuddliest kitty, championship eater, and her brother's best friend. Sophie brings so much joy into our home. Sophie began suffering from a high fever and we immediately sought medical attention. After two days of care and diagnostics, Sophie was diagnosed with FIP at VCA Encina. This disease is 100% fatal in kittens if not treated and the treatment cost is $1500-$5000. Sophie is her brother's best friend. We adopted Sophie and Fox Pendragon one week apart and after a week of initial adjustment, they slowly became inseparable. Our kitties are a bonded pair and enjoy being together every second of the day. Since Sophie began showing symptoms, Fox has had a hard time giving her space to rest and accepting the decrease in cuddles. We all miss our healthy girl. My partner and I both work full-time to support ourselves. We have a small savings that was fully used to pay for her diagnostic and initial care. We are seeking any amount of financial help to cover the costs of treatment. We are grateful for anything you can give to help.

Finn was rescued from a car engine by our daughter-in-law and brought to us when she and our son realized they couldn’t keep him. From the start, he bonded with our granddaughter and became part of our home. He’s been a quiet source of comfort through tough times a reminder that sometimes the ones we rescue end up rescuing us. He’s more than a pet he’s family, through and through. Finn was always healthy until he suddenly became lethargic and started vomiting. We rushed him to BluePearl in Brandon, FL, where they found a life-threatening urinary blockage. He was hospitalized for days, then developed fluid around his heart and lungs. After being discharged, he blocked again and is now back in critical care fighting for his life. Finn means a lot to our whole family he’s gentle, calm, and always seems to know when someone needs him. He bonded quickly with our granddaughter and brings a steady presence to our home. As a retired disabled veteran he has been the constant as I adjusted during my transition. He’s not just a pet he’s part of our daily life, our routines, and our support system. We all feel it when he’s not here. We’ve spent $13,000 to keep Finn alive because we didn’t have a choice he’s family. I’m a retired disabled veteran & currently unemployed & the costs ahead are more than we can manage saving his life & bringing him home again would be something we will never forget thank you

Talladega came into my life by miracle. She has been the best dog I could ever ask for. Her love and companionship is unspeakable. Even through everything she has been through; recently losing her best pal unexpectedly, moving 3 times, house fire, and now going through Parvovirus, her love is truly unconditional. She loves booty scratches and all the cuddles you could possibly give. Talladega tested positive for Parvovirus on 3/30/2025 at the West Lafayette Vet in Indiana. She is a strong fighter but currently feeling all of the effects from it. She is not wanting to eat currently and just wanting to sleep. The vet offers an antibody shot that helps fight Parvo faster and gives a better chance of survival. Due to Talladega's size, the cost is higher and not affordable for me. Talladega has a huge heart, she loves everybody she comes into contact with. She loves playing fetch with her ball or frisbee. She also enjoys finding sticks in the yard and helps pick them up for you to mow. Her favorite thing is to go to the creek. As pictured, she loves to find rocks she can stand on just to let the water flow by her. She loves learning new commands and making you proud. I recently lost her best friend due to complications from surgery. Due to covering the costs of that, this is an unexpected, urgent situation that I do not have the funds for. I am so scared to lose my baby girl as well. It breaks my heart seeing her like this.
