We've had Derby since birth. Him and Indica are from the same litter. He has 4 dog sisters, 2 cat sisters and 1 cat brother. Gracie, 4 years old, Great Dane Bailey, 8 years old, black Lab Indica, 3 years old, Pit mix Skye, 11 months old, Australian shepherd JJ, 10 years old, cat Felix, 3 years old, cat Georgie, 3 years old, cat All are spayed/neutered Derby is a big meathead but he is the most gentle, loving dog. He is always at my feet or by my side. Whenever I get up he gets up and follows me everywhere. (Yes even to the bathroom). He loves my grandkids, especially the youngest, who is 6. He has always cuddled with them all but Derby is the biggest cuddler out of all of them. He has the sweetest disposition and always makes me smile. They all play well but Derby and Gracie have the most fun together. They will go to the opposite ends of the yard and charge each other and bump chests. Then they get the zoomies and do it all over again. We live in the country on the river and they all love going to the river and playing in the water with the grandkids. He has his own recliner on the porch to take naps in. Derby tested positive for heart worms on May 8th. He has finished his steroids and antibiotics and he is scheduled to get his two injections on July 17th and 18th. The hardest thing is trying to keep him calm during this. My husband and I are both on disability. (He has lung cancer and I have had 4 neck surgeries and a lot of other health issues) With the economy the way it is money is very tight. Gracie also tested positive and we have to pay the same amount out of pocket for her too.

Noodle came into our rescue with his three siblings, Oreo, Reese, and Potato. They were named by small children who fell in love with their kind eyes and sweet demeanors. The four were found in Thomasville, Georgia and were nursed back to health in the care of our rescue. Reese and Potato have since found their forever homes, but Noodle and Oreo are still patiently waiting for theirs. Noodle is a very sweet and calm gentleman. He is kenneled outside at our rescue with his sister, Oreo, and another similar sized dog, who you’d think was his twin. Even though he has never had a home of his own, he is an optimistic and playful little guy that is enjoying life as he knows it. He’s ready for his own home, but he doesn’t let that stop him from enjoying what he has now. Noodle loves playing with his sister and his kennel-mate, and he absolutely loves toys! He is very curious and you can watch him thinking as he moves his items around the kennel or he watches butterflies fly through the air. He is often very relaxed and just enjoys the company of humans and other dogs. He’s a very go-with-the-flow young dog. Noodle has been diagnosed with a Grade 5 heart murmur. His aortic valve is almost entirely closed and local vets gave him an estimated 6-12 months to live. He has no current symptoms, but he’s expected to go downhill quickly once they start. One vet referred us to Auburn University, who incredibly has a procedure that can help save his life. The heart surgery for Noodle will cost over $5000, but without it he will not live more than a year. This sweet boy deserves a chance at finding his forever home and living out a happy, healthy, and full life. Please help us save him!

Starving, weak, and desperate: Ami needs you!

At the start of October, SDS helped with a rescue case that broke their hearts. Ami was found near a local supermarket in Iloilo, Philippines. She wasn’t begging or causing trouble—just quietly searching for food. Starving, weak, and desperate, she was met not with compassion but with cruelty. Someone threw stones at her. When SDS saw the photos and videos of her, they broke down in tears. She was so severely emaciated that it’s a miracle she was still standing. Every bone in her body was visible. It truly looked like she only had days, maybe hours, left to live. That image has stayed with them since. Thankfully, their partner was able to reach her in time. Ami was rushed to the hospital, where she has been receiving intensive care ever since. During her check-up, vets discovered a massive tumor in her private area. She was immediately started on chemotherapy, and she has now completed her third session. Because they had to pay for all six sessions in advance, they were unable to complete their fundraising efforts beforehand. SDS urgently needs your help to recoup those costs and cover her ongoing hospitalization, which remains unpaid. And the good news is that Ami is showing signs of progress. Meet Stanley a former stray cat. He is roughly 11 years old, and 6 weeks ago, he used the last of his energy to walk up to our door and ask for help. He looked awful, smelled terrible, and was in so much pain from a massive mouth infection that he could barely eat. We immediately took him in, gave him a safe room to decompress, and brought him to the vet. He was suffering from a severe mouth infection he had difficulty eating, couldn't groom himself, was underweight and unneutered. His vet at Rhode Island Community Pet Project also found a growth under his tongue. He's had 3 appointments where he's received antibiotics and anti-inflammatory meds. He needs surgery that will include dental extractions, growth removal/biopsy and a neuter. There is just something so precious about Stanley. A sweet soul behind those eyes that wants to trust again. He has stolen our hearts and has found his forever home to spend his golden years and we want him to do so pain free. He will have all the time he needs to learn to trust people again. He is home. I am disabled, my funds are limited. The surgery is 9/09/2026 at RI Community Pet Project. The itemized estimate is $1,200–$1,400. Logan came into my life being given to me by my husband to help with the heart ache of losing my first Boston Tanner who passed away at the age of 14 yrs old I was completely heart broken and missed having a Boston in my life. My husband found a breeder and I got to pick Logan out at the. age of 4 weeks I loved him so much. I could t wait for him to come home. He has been the light in my life Logan has been recently diagnosed with a mass cell tumor on his front leg and it is not able to be surgically removed. He has to have his leg amputated to clear his body of the cancer. Logan is so special To me and my family, he loves to nap and play with his best friend and daughter Elliott. And lives to chew on his chew bones and toys With it being around Christmas no one wants to hear that your best friend ( dog ) has cancer let alone tell you he has to have his leg amputated. Which having the devastating news that the mass can’t just be removed but he has to lose his leg is devastating to hear.

CocoPuff is fighting for her life, and her condition is breaking the hearts of everyone at Passion for Pitties rescue. The team first saved CocoPuff from a shelter. "She was covered in scars, had a skin condition, and was very fearful. We knew that a senior Pitbull in her condition would likely not be adopted, so we stepped in immediately," Heather H., from the rescue, tells Waggle. CocoPuff went to an incredible foster home where she transformed from a scared and anxious dog to a happy, confident, and adventurous pooch who loves to hike, go to the beach and the dog park. Just as CocoPuff was thriving, she had surgery to remove two tumors. Soon after, she developed a raging incision site infection that spread so rapidly that some of her skin became necrotic. The rescue is trying to raise money for this unexpected complication and needs your help. She's getting extensive medical care now to save her life. Pulled From the Euthanasia List, Teddy Is Fighting for His Life

Just two years old, Teddy should have had his whole life ahead of him. Instead, he found himself on the county shelter's euthanasia list after becoming critically ill. His owners reported that he had accidentally ingested an unknown chemical and, after seeking initial veterinary care, were unable to afford the extensive treatment he desperately needed. With nowhere else to turn and his medical condition worsening, Teddy's future looked heartbreakingly bleak. That's when Jess Helping Furbabies stepped in. Refusing to let Teddy's story end there, the rescue pulled him from the shelter and rushed him for emergency veterinary care. While Teddy is finally safe, his fight is only beginning. Initial bloodwork revealed several alarming abnormalities, including an elevated white blood cell count, low blood glucose, and elevated kidney values, all signs that his body is battling something serious. He remains weak, depressed, and has very little interest in food. His veterinary team has ordered extensive diagnostic testing to determine exactly how much damage the unknown chemical may have caused and what treatment he needs moving forward. Teddy's caregivers are doing everything they can to encourage him to eat. So far, he's only managed a few tiny bites of food. He nibbled on a piece of chicken nugget, but not even enough to finish one. He'll take a short walk outside, but the little energy he has quickly disappears. Once back inside, he quietly returns to his bed, getting up only when absolutely necessary. His heart rate also remains dangerously low, and his veterinarians are closely monitoring him while they await the results of more advanced bloodwork that will help guide the next phase of his treatment. Despite how sick he feels, Teddy's sweet personality is still shining through. He even managed to wag his tail—a small but beautiful reminder that he's still fighting. No dog should come this close to losing their life simply because they need medical care. Jess Helping Furbabies gave Teddy the second chance he deserved, but emergency diagnostics, hospitalization, medications, supportive care, and ongoing treatment come at a significant cost. Truly a best friend EMERGENCY HELP FOR OUR DOG JURY 💔 Today we rushed our dog Jury to Mission Animal Hospital after she became extremely sick. She has a severe uterine infection called pyometra and needs emergency treatment to survive. The vet says she is extremely sick and needs IV fluids, antibiotics, bloodwork, and stabilization immediately before they can even safely move toward surgery. Jury is more than just a dog to us — she is family. She has been a constant source of comfort, love, and companionship for our children through so many ups and downs. Crumb is a 13 year old Mix-Breed in Raleigh, NC, who needs $10,000 for Tumor Removal and Emergency Spay.

Crumb was adopted from a farm in Four Oaks, NC in 2013. She was the runt and so tiny she fit in the palm of a hand; that's how she got her name. Unable to suckle with her siblings, we had to bottle-feed. She cried the whole ride home but settled into a clothes basket where she slept her first 3 months. After 10 years in a single-wide, we bought a house in 2023 so she’d have more space and a yard. We took Crumb to the vet in February 2026 for allergies because she was very itchy. During the exam, the vet found a large tumor on her rear. Further testing revealed another possible mass near her spleen. At BluePearl, specialists confirmed the rear/vaginal tumor, but the second “tumor” turned out to be an ovarian cyst after additional testing. We were quoted 7.5-10k initially to remove the mass. Crumb has been with us through many trials and has never wavered in her love. She’s always a joy to come home to. In 2020, mom was furloughed and stayed home with Crumb while the world shut down. When not with her parents, she spent time with grandpa, who passed in April 2024, and visited him for a long time that last day. Now she stays with grandma when both parents are working. We already paid for surgery to remove 3 small mammary tumors in September 2025. Since then, we’ve spent about 2.5k on testing for this new set of tumors. We’re also facing a hospital bill from Mom’s ER visit, Mom’s dental work, Dad’s car repairs, plus regular bills.
