Parker

Parker is a 9 month old Mix-Breed in Burns, TN, who needs $2,000 for Thoracentesis and supportive care for pyometria.

Burns, TN • Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue

Parker was living in a colony of cats cared for by a compassionate community member, who noticed she wasn’t feeling well and reached out to our volunteers for help. After spending nearly two hours carefully trapping her, we were able to get Parker to the vet for urgent care. At just about 9 months old, Parker was diagnosed with pyometra—a life-threatening uterine infection caused by not being spayed. She had pus draining from her vulva and required immediate surgery. On Monday, she underwent an emergency spay to remove the infected uterus. Unfortunately, Parker has had a difficult recovery. She wasn’t improving as expected, and further diagnostics revealed a pneumothorax—air trapped in her chest cavity—along with ongoing infection related to the pyometra. Despite antibiotics, she has been running a high fever of around 105°F throughout the week. Based on our trusted veterinarians’ recommendations, Parker has been transferred for specialized care. She is currently hospitalized, receiving a thoracentesis to remove the air from her chest, along with IV antibiotics and pain management. Despite everything she’s been through, Parker has been incredibly sweet and loving. Everyone who has met her has commented on her gentle, affectionate nature. She truly deserves this chance to live, and we remain hopeful and optimistic about her recovery.

Cooper

Cooper is a 14 year old Chihuahua in Fairview, TX, who needs $3,000 for Cholystecomy.

Fairview, TX

Cooper was a gift from God on Easter 2025. He was living in a meth house for 2 years and traumatized seeing his owner lost under the influence and unable to do anything but watch his owner destroy his life. He was not cared for and under alot of stress in an unstable environment with alot of anxiety. He was finally released by owner and brought to me to help. He was traumatized and malnourished. He was diagnosed with Leptospirosis and underwent hospitalization and overcame the severe infection in 2025. He recovered and started to enjoy his peaceful life and going on walks finally at an age of 13 which he loves more than food to be honest. He now fell ill again and has inflamed gallbladder full of stones which is stressful and I imagine painful and needs surgery. He is a fighter and a survivor. He has taken the responsibility of taken care of the household as a protector for most his life until recently moving into a peaceful family of 2. He has a food bowl all to himself and now goes on daily walks which only happened in his dreams with previous owner. He is special and has just now found a piece of heaven he so much deserved. He wants to live. A bill or two or three may be manageable when in need even if you have to work overtime or sell something to make it happen but a surgery cost is a bit harder and any help would allow a precious fur baby a chance to continue to mark his territory and meet more neighbors.

Help Sophie Find Relief from Constant Eye Irritation

West Palm Beach, FL • Adopt A Cat Foundation

When Sophie arrived at Adopt a Cat Foundation, it was immediately clear that something wasn't right. This sweet cat had barely settled into rescue when staff noticed her eyes looked abnormal. Concerned that Sophie might be suffering from a painful underlying condition, they arranged for her to be evaluated by a veterinary ophthalmologist. The diagnosis confirmed their fears. Sophie has a condition called distichia, a painful disorder in which abnormal eyelashes grow from glands along the edge of the eyelids. In Sophie's case, the extra lashes are present in both eyes and constantly rub against her corneas every time she blinks. Imagine having tiny hairs scratching the surface of your eyes all day, every day. This condition causes significant irritation, excessive tearing, inflammation, and can eventually lead to painful corneal ulcers and permanent eye damage if left untreated. Although Sophie has likely been living with this discomfort for quite some time, she has remained incredibly sweet and resilient. Fortunately, there is a solution. Sophie's ophthalmologist has recommended a specialized procedure called cryoepilation, which is considered the most effective treatment for permanently removing these abnormal lashes. During the procedure, performed under general anesthesia, a freezing probe is used to destroy the hair follicles responsible for the painful lashes. Once treated, Sophie will finally be able to blink without irritation and enjoy a much more comfortable life. Adopt a Cat Foundation stepped in to give Sophie the chance she deserves, but specialty eye care comes at a significant cost. Your donation will help cover Sophie's ophthalmology procedure, anesthesia, medications, follow-up care, and recovery expenses. Every dollar brings her one step closer to a future free from chronic eye pain and the risk of permanent vision damage. Sophie has already waited far too long for relief. Please consider making a donation today and helping this deserving girl see a brighter, more comfortable future. 7/15/26 Update We have wonderful news to share about sweet Sophie! Thanks to your incredible generosity and support, Sophie has officially undergone her specialized cryosurgery to treat the painful abnormal eyelashes that had been scratching her eyes with every blink. The procedure went well, and she is now recovering safely at Adopt a Cat Foundation under the loving care of our dedicated volunteers. For what was likely a very long time, Sophie lived with constant irritation and discomfort caused by distichia. Every blink brought painful lashes rubbing against the surface of her eyes. Thanks to this surgery, those abnormal hair follicles have been treated, giving Sophie the opportunity to heal and finally experience the comfort she has been missing. Right now, Sophie's days are filled with lots of rest, medications, gentle monitoring, and plenty of love. Our volunteers are making sure she stays comfortable as her eyes recover, and she has been taking everything in stride with the same sweet, gentle personality that captured all of our hearts from the very beginning. While she still has some healing ahead of her and will continue with follow-up care to ensure her eyes are recovering as expected, we are incredibly hopeful that this procedure will give Sophie lasting relief and protect her vision for years to come. Although Sophie is on the road to recovery, her journey isn't over. Her specialized ophthalmology care and surgery resulted in a veterinary bill of more than $1,500, and Adopt a Cat Foundation is still working to raise the funds needed to cover this lifesaving treatment. If you're able, please consider making a donation to help offset Sophie's medical expenses. Every contribution, no matter the size, directly supports her care and allows the rescue to continue saying "yes" to other cats who need specialized treatment. Your kindness gave Sophie the chance to live without constant eye pain, and your continued support will help ensure more cats like her receive the second chance they deserve. 8/8/26 Update Sweet Sophie has had a bit of a setback following her specialized eye surgery. After undergoing her cryosurgery to treat the painful abnormal eyelashes caused by distichia, Sophie unfortunately developed an upper respiratory infection. Her breathing is currently quite sniffly, and she is now receiving daily medications to help her fight the infection and get back to feeling like herself. Thankfully, her dedicated caregivers are keeping a close eye on her and making sure she gets the medication and supportive care she needs. Despite this bump in the road, Sophie is still on her journey toward a more comfortable future. Her eye surgery gave her the chance to finally escape the constant irritation she had endured, and now her caregivers are focused on helping her recover fully. 💜 Please consider donating to help cover Sophie’s ongoing medical care. Her specialized eye procedure cost more than $1,500, and with this unexpected illness, her veterinary expenses continue to grow. Every donation helps Adopt a Cat Foundation provide Sophie with the medications, monitoring, and care she needs to get through this setback. Please keep sweet Sophie in your thoughts and help us cheer her on as she works toward feeling better! 🐾💜

Thea

Thea is a 8-month-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Stanford, CA, who needs $500 for Surgery to Repair Fractured Femur.

Stanford, CA

Thea is a rescue I found abandoned on my college campus, scared, tired, hungry, and thirsty. I took her in 2 months ago and have been nursing her back to health since. She now lives together with me in my studio apartment and has settled in nicely after recovering from her spay surgery. I give Thea free range throughout the apartment because it's overall a bit small. She spends all of her time either sleeping, cuddling up against me (especially when I first get home), playing with or without me, or Her favorite toy is her mouse on a stick. I don't need even need to entice her with it and she'll find ways to simulate hunting it, carrying it away in her mouth when she's succeeded. She chirps whenever she plays--a reflection of her strong hunting instincts---and whenever she's excited, which is most of her waking life. Meows are strictly reserved for when I return after several hours away. I found Thea with a limp that hasn't fully resolved. After finding x-rays and a surgical consultation I could afford, it's now clear that she has a fracture in her femur just above her left knee that still hasn't healed---the bone parts are held together only by scar tissue. Dr. Kimberly Carlson at Lenity Vet in San Mateo, CA gives a good prognosis for corrective surgery. I couldn't help but rescue Thea when I found her, but I am a graduate student within "very low income" limits in my county and this surgery is ~$10,000 in that county. Surgery would give this very active otherwise healthy rescue the best chance at an active, pain-free life.

Mercedes

Mercedes is a 3-year-old American Bully in Clearfield, UT, who needs $1,600 for Pyometra Surgery.

Clearfield, UT

Mercedes was born 10/07/2020 and we brought her home at 10 weeks old. She loves to sleep in her kennel on her blankets next to our couch (we do not close the kennel). She has grown up in a house of love. She has a big yard to play in, loves walks and lazing about everywhere She can. She is an indoor dog as she is part of our family and will curl up on or by anyone in the house. Mercedes loves her 3 human siblings and me (her momma) and my husband so much. She is the loviest big old baby around. She loves belly rubs, the water hose and laying on our feet. At over 100 lbs, she thinks she is a lap dog and will lay on anyone who let's her. She also adores her dog brother Larry and mother's him like her own pup. Mercedes has one of the best personalities! She is so sweet and just wants to be petted and loved on all the time and she let's you know it. She rolls onto her back for all the belly rubs! If you pretend to be asleep she will get onto your lap and force her head under your chin to cuddle. She has blue around her eyes and it looks like she has makeup on, she's so pretty! Mercedes has an infection of the uterus, which means she needs emergency surgery to remove it and treat the infection. Our veterinarian has taken care of every animal I've ever owned for 20 years now, they agreed to take a partial payment from me and suggested waggle to help me. I work full-time and am not great with asking for help. I do not have good credit, so I cannot qualify for carecredit. I do not want to lose my baby girl when there is treatment, I just cannot afford something so unexpected and expensive.

Jake

Jake is a 7-year-old Australian Cattle Dog Mix in Danville, IN, who needs $2,000 for Surgery to remove mast cell tumor/lymph node and spleen removal.

Danville, IN

I adopted Jake from the Indianapolis Animal Care and Control shelter in February of 2018. In the shelter his name was Banff, but I renamed him Jake. I remember a TV show in which one of the characters had a dog named Jake, and I thought if I ever got a male dog I would name him Jake! I have no other pets in my home. My guess is is that Jake likes it that way! Jake is my buddy and is very special. Jake sleeps in the bed with me, and he does a good job of taking up the whole bed! When we go on walks we either walk around the neighborhood or go to a local park. He is very food-motivated (like every dog) and will give convincing arguments as to why I should give him some of whatever I'm eating! He likes to stand on his hind legs to get to whatever may be on the kitchen counters. Jake likes the kind of toys that can be chewed up. I have to make sure he doesn't eat the pieces! He is also quite vocal and will not hesitate to bark when he's not happy about something. Jake is not afraid of storms or fireworks and he seems to love snow. He is quite the cuddler and I personally think he is one of the cutest dogs around! We just love to be with each other. Jake was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor recently that the veterinary oncologist suspects may have spread to his spleen. I was told by the oncologist (Dr. Hillman) at IndyVet that the tumor and spleen would need to be removed. The original mast cell tumor is on the right side of his lip and may have spread to that lymph node as well. That will need to be removed. I live on disability and this has been a sudden, major expense. It would mean so much to have Jake declared "cancer-free". He is a happy, lively dog and I want him to live a long life in the best possible way. I've only had him for 4 years and I'm not ready to let him go yet
