Abandoned at Our Gate — But Not Forgotten Cookie is just 6–7 months old. A baby, really. She didn’t arrive as a stray. She arrived with a passport. Medical records. Paperwork. Proof that she once belonged to someone. Through our CCTV cameras, we watched a family walk up to the secure emergency cages outside our old shelter gate — cages we installed strictly for injured and abused homeless animals while our team focuses on building homes at our new sanctuary. They placed Cookie inside… and walked away. They looked sad. But they still left her. ACF Animal Rescue was not prepared for pets to be abandoned there. Those cages were meant to protect injured strays until we could reach them — not to become drop-off points for unwanted family members. When we found Cookie, she was frozen in fear. She growled, not out of aggression, but terror. She refused food. She wouldn’t drink. Her whole tiny body had shut down. We moved slowly. Spoke softly. Gently looped a leash. Lifted her with care. And brought her to the new sanctuary — where she became the very first resident of our new home. And something beautiful happened. Cookie began to trust again. Today, she: • Has been given Bravecto • Has been fully dewormed • Has received a complete medical check and is healthy • Is receiving proper nutrition and daily care • Loves her toys and is settling in beautifully Cookie didn’t choose to be abandoned. But she chose to open her heart again. How You Can Help Cookie While Cookie is safe, her care — and the care of animals like her — is not free. chula came into my life only 4 months ago but has made the best impact on my life originally rescued by my father found skinny sick with fleas and rashes all over her disagreed like garbage she was dumped in a dumpster. she was brought to me and I tended to her till she was in the best shape ever. she lived with me my 2 uncles and her bff Luka my uncles dog also half French bulldog and lovesevery1 on Jan10 chula woke up with her back legs paralyzed she was diagnosed with ivdd her paralyze legs is caused by her disc compressing her spinal cord she has a good prognosis she still has feeling in her legs and toes she has a good chance at recovering and able to walk again with surgery and a neologist I want to take her to sage vet but unfortunately this is a 3-10krange currently on meds&bedrest chula is defiantly a little character this strong little girl wants nothing more then all your love and booty scratches she isn't afraid to tell u what she has to say and this spoiled diva knows its her world she is full of energy loves rough housing with Luka and playing tug of war she can make a room light up with laughter with her crooked smile she follows me everywhere and helped me atmylowest I wish I had all the money in the world to help chula unfortunately I have a fixed income and recently got my hours cut at work so this unexpected problem is a bit a burden I hate to not have a choice when it comes to my bbys health please help me get chula back to herself

This is Simba our 5 yo furbaby. He is the sweetest, loving, and chill, cat. He is more than a cat, he is a very important member of our family. Over the holiday he unfortunately ate something that obstructed his intestine. We had to rush him to a Emergency Veterinary hospital, EVCC of Mishawaka Indiana. It was either Emergency surgery or euthanasia. Since he is a otherwise a very healthy cat, and beloved member of our family, we chose the surgery to save his life. Fortunately, we were able to come up with the down payment for the surgery but have a remaining balance due for a little over $3,500. We are a household of 4 with 1 able working adult. If you see this and would like to donate, anything would help. He is currently recovering from surgery. If you cannot donate please share to help us. Skye came into my life when I was at my lowest. She was my light, my comfort, my little angel when I needed one the most. She saved me in ways I can never explain, and that’s why I named her Skye. Now all I want is the chance to save her the way she saved me Sky has not been feeling well since last night, she is barely moving, laying flat on the floor and her eyes are moving rapidly. I know something is wrong with her behavior:( this isn’t like her at all. She yelps every time she tries to eat, and when I gently try to lift her up. All she has been doing is laying down. Skye is so special, when I was pregnant with my daughter, Skye was always there. I even included a picture of them together:) Skye loves her with all of her heart. She’s such a sweet and silly girl always wanting to put a smile on anyone’s face. She is the light of my life. Im a stay at home mom and our family is doing the best we can with bills and money is always tight for us. We never would have imagined this would happen:( I love Skye with all of my heart, she’s saved me, and now I wish to save her.

My childhood dog Cooper came into my life about 10 years ago when I was 11 years old(im 21 now) and I’ve always wanted a dog it was always on my Christmas list. So for my 11th birthday I got Cooper,he’s always been my companion, best friend, and emotional support person.We’ve been living in the suburbs since I was also 11,and have also another schnauzer named mini,It’s always been mini and Cooper. Cooper has an intestinal obstruction. He had gallbladder surgery on October 27th, and at the time the obstruction didn’t seem urgent, so he was monitored closely. But recently his stomach became bloated and he grew extremely weak, showing that the obstruction is now causing serious symptoms and needs urgent care. His best friend is mini which is his sister, she is known to have depressive episodes and my family just knows she wouldn’t be okay if we lost Cooper. Cooper has always been extremely active, he loved to play up until he got sick. People used to actually think he was a puppy because of how playful he’s always been. I’m a full time student right now struggling to pay for school alone and I do work at soldier field but that job doesn’t pay much. My mom doesn’t work and my dad works at a tire shop but he’s saving up because we are in the process of losing our current house.

Inky came into my life when one of my other cats gave birth in my bookshelf. They have 2 siblings but they are the longest fur cat of the bunch. Inky loves people's attention, he often also slept on my shoulds while I was working on my computer. He loves being held in my arms like a baby and will just fall asleep. He is my best boy and I wish I could see him back to full health. Currently we don't know what's wrong. He won't eat or drink reliably and we have tried hand feeding him with little success. We unfortunately can't afford an emergency examination but I want to ensure his health. He sits in solitary and will wait in the same place or by the door for you to come back and pet him. He has stopped asking for much attention and he barely moves now. He is the best cat in the world to me. I see myself in him sometimes. Loving the attention but finds solace in quiet moments. He is dark brown with long hair and he is just the most lovable cat. He would sit with me while I work, sleep with me at night, and even would fall asleep in my arms while I held him. I unfortunately have been evicted, money is tight, AI has replaced my job as a senior developer. Can't afford food so I go to food banks and I am deeply concerned for my boy and I want to make sure he is OK. I cant afford the examination but I'd love to see them happy again.

Kimchi, named by my Korean husband lol (but middle name is Randy from me), came into my life 4 years ago. I had seen a post on Facebook that a woman on our cities military base had found a litter of kittens in her dumpster and her husband wouldn't let her keep them. My husband and I ended up picking the tiniest weakest one, and the biggest strongest one-Kimchi. Kimchi was an orange fluff ball. Monday, 12/1/25 kimchi started only peeing 2 drops. No regular urination flow. He has a partial blockage- that can turn fatal. He's gone 4 days straining, crying and not being able to pee correctly due to not having any funds to do unblocking treatment, he was sent home with antibiotics. Kimchi still can't pee. its a blockage. I can get him in tomorrow, but still need partial funds help Kimchi is truly one of a kind. He's kind, gentle, a big teddy bear, like Ferdinand. But most importantly, he has changed my life since 4 yrs ago. I am diagnosed with PTSD, and when I have the night terrors, he quickly stands on my chest like a mountain goat- till I wake up. He saves me from reliving a nightmare -time after time.. He loves to love.. He is truly a gentle giant. Kimchi does not deserve to be in pain. I am the human- I do. Not Kimchi, a sweet animal who is quick to love and care for me, every single day of his life. I am taking him in tomorrow again, but deseperatley need the rest of the funds to treat him. We adopted Sherman 9 years ago after the loss of a cat to cancer. We got him as a kitten just 2 months before my youngest daughter was born, and they have grown up together. He has always been cuddly and spicy and loves my three daughters so much. He is social and sweet and so handsome! Over the spring Sherman started getting sick and began to loose weight. Multiple trips to the vet later, we are still trying to get a definitive diagnosis, but he’s getting worse and is now severely anemic and underweight. We are now at a specialist and our sweet boy needs a blood transfusion. Possibly surgery too depending on the test results on his abdomen. Sherman is a talker, an attention seeker, and a cuddler (when he’s feeling good). My three daughters have such a beautiful and special love for him. We are all so heartbroken watching him decline. We live in a 4 generation household, and we simply can’t afford thousands of dollars in vet bills.. but we also don’t want to loose our precious boy at only 9 years old! We just lost another cat about a month ago, very unexpectedly, and we can’t handle the loss of another.

Kita is my 9 year-old pit mix and truly my best friend. She’s been with me through every chapter of life, always by my side with her goofy smile, protective heart, and gentle soul. She’s the kind of dog who loves everyone she meets and still acts like a puppy when she’s happy. Kita, needed emergency surgery for pyometra at South Seattle Veterinary Hospital. It wasn’t discovered until surgery that it had ruptured, making it far more severe than expected. I thought I had just enough to cover her care, but costs increased after complications. Family and nonprofits helped, but we still need support. Kita refuses to sleep unless she’s buried in blankets and pillows right beside you. She’s the biggest couch potato, yet somehow always ready for adventure. She loves playing in boxes, and her favorite food is anything edible. She’s truly the light in my life with the softest heart for children & her family My car recently broke down, forcing me to save every penny for a new one. Soon after, my dog became critically ill and needed emergency surgery. I’ve covered much of the cost, but the updated estimate is more than I can afford alone.
