Peter came up to our door. He was hungry and scared, yet he was very loving. He's a very large Tabby. His head is literally the size of a softball. He weighs approximately 14 lbs. I, very gingerly, and scared myself, attempted to pet him. He immediately coward. Though he had a hard life, as big as he is that's how loving he is. Pete is still learning some house manners. He's come so far in such a short period of time. He still paws the water out of the bowel, and laps it off of the floor. He's teaching himself to lap it out of the water bowel. He loves his tuna fish treat, and looks forward to it each evening with my other cats who were abandoned here. Peter is a lover, not a fighter. He even cowers when my 16 yr old who has 3 teeth, can hardly see and either can't hear or ignores me growls at him, Peter could eat him as a treat. He's so gentle, he just wants loving. If I don't pet him enough he taps me until I pet him again. He tapped me with his nails. I gently told him, Petey, no, no,easy baby, no nails. 3 days later he uses his pads. He needs to be neutered, and be Vetted. He goes outside, on my Private Road. Each day he gets his exercise, some fresh air and he loves to go "bugging" and to hunt. Hence the neutering is vital, as well as his shots. He will see the family Vet at Macon County Veterinary Hospital. He'll have a 7:30 am Surgical appointment. I'll be able to pick him up at 1:30. I would like to tell you a little about myself. My profession was a Mental Health Counselor for many years. I became one hundred percent disabled which I can never return to any type of employment again. Therefore, I am on SSDI, and house payment alone is a killer.

Mebrek

I have had Mebrek for 13 years, since he was a puppy. He currently lives with me, living his best life as an old man. He has traveled with me across the country and my son is his best friend, the two of them have grown up together and share a special bond. Mebrek is always by my side, he is very attached to me and I am too him. Mebrek loves to sit in front of doorways, blocking the way so that people have to walk over him. Even to this day in his old age with his health problems, he lives for escaping from any enclosure and takes off running the moment he is free. He always comes back home though. He is stubborn and incredibly wise. Sensitive and loving. Mebrek has always been such a loving, gentle, and faithful friend and companion. He has brought so much joy to me and my family and friends over the years. Always happy to see familiar faces and make new friends when we are out-and-about for a walk, or having fun at the local dog park. He draws a crowd everywhere we go, and at home he is always by my side. A few months ago he developed visibly, protruding lumps from and around his anal area. The tumors are now larger and causing him great discomfort. They have begun to break open and smell bad. The vet said he needs surgery to remove the tumors. They will then be biopsied. VCA Basin Veterinary Clinic will provide treatment. I am a single dad experiencing partial unemployment due to COVID. When the option was provided to me to euthanize my best friend because I couldn't afford treatment, I was devastated. I believe Mebrek still has a few good years in him and deserves to live in comfort.

Hugo

Hugo's Dad works a stressful job as an active duty member of the US Air Force. He always knew he wanted a kitty companion, and when he saw Hugo looking for a home at the SPCA he immediately fell in love and knew Hugo had to come home with him. Hugo is a huge help to his Dad, his Dad's partner, and everyone he meets. He is always by his Dad's side and is an incredibly loyal love-bug. Hugo spends his days glued to his peoples' sides, clawing at his cactus scratching post, climbing his tall cat tree next to the window to observe the birds and bask in the sun, enjoying his little den in a large box left out for him, and having fun chasing his toys. Hugo loves head scratches and naps, and when you start petting him he turns into a little purr engine. Hugo's Dad says: Hugo is a kind and gentle soul who brings so much to those around him. I was in a rough spot. I came home to an empty house everyday and felt myself losing motivation to do the things I am passionate about. Once Hugo came into my life everything started turning around. I had someone there for me, who made me happy and brought value to my life. He gave me a light in the darkness. About a week after being adopted Hugo started showing signs of serious illness. He vomited often, refused food, and became wobbly and lethargic. An emergency vet visit and multiple trips to his regular vet for testing, x-rays, and an ultrasound finally revealed his diagnosis: a peritoneal pericardial diaphragmatic hernia with hepatic involvement. He now needs emergency surgery to save his life. Hugo's diagnostic journey has been incredibly expensive. We need your help to fund the emergency life-saving surgery he needs to continuing living a happy, healthy life and being the light of his Dad's life.

CAS is a 6-year-old German sheppard in Leicester , NC, who needs $1,265 for Teeth Extraction.

We found Cas an a pet finder website. He was living with a foster household. He was found wandering the streets and was severely malnourished. We adopted him and he was brought to us here in NC. We have since nourished him back to health and we show him and our other sheppard as much love and attention that we possibly can. He has regulat vet visits and is well taken care of. It has taken a bit for him to not be so timid. His doggy personality is coming thru more each day. He is such a pleasure and loves to be loved on. He is well behaved and a good guard dog. He is scared of fireworks, thunder, etc. Such a loving dog and deserves the best life possible. He does good with our family members and they all love him too. Cas makes us smile and laugh everyday. He has a funny bark that he does as he is calming down from alerting us of a possible threat. He plays alot with jade, our female and it's cute to see them interact. Both want the attention and both want to be dominate. It's a constant battle. He loves salmon and bacon. Cas is seen here in Asheville at Asheville veterinary clinic on Leicester hwy. He has 2 teeth needing to be pulled. One of them has been cracked and nerves are showing and it's very painful for him. It radiates into his jaw and up around his ear. I noticed he was in pain a couple days ago when he would just stop in his tracks and his jaws would quiver and he slobbering alot. Cas has been thru so much that we don't even know about. Both our dogs are well taken care of, up to date on all shots, taking preventative medicines, hip and bone supplements, high quality vet recommended dog food etc. My husband is the only one working at the moment.

I adopted Carrot in January from a local pet adoption agency in Seattle, so we have not been together long, but in that short time, he has become my best friend. In the apartment, he lives alone, but he has a brother that lives down at my mom's house. His brother who is chunkier is named Pumpkin and Carrot got his name since he was a bit scrawny and lengthy (like a Carrot). Carrot loves sleeping by the window, where he can wake up at a moment's notice to chatter at some crows. I live in a studio apartment with my partner and Carrot, so we are used to always being around each other. It feels like I am missing a very importnat piece of my life since he has been at the vet the past week. Carrot always enjoys watching cartoons and tv with us, he is like an iPAD kid. Carrot is the nicest and friendliest cat. He is loving, playful, and sometimes a bit of a spaz. His favorite hobbies include sniffing the dishwasher, knocking pens of desks, and curling up in the sun for long naps. He also goes crazy for catnip, you can check out the posted video to see him in action. He loves chattering at the birds, although he is actually the biggest scaredy cat alive. We rescued this poor, sweet girl over mothers day weekend 22. She was very calm and sweet but she had sad eyes, given her condition, who could blame her? After some gentle coaxing and lots of sniffs we quickly earned her trust. My husband told me to call the vet monday but not to let my hopes get too high. We were both almost certain euthanasia would be her only option. Our daughters called her Ice because she is almost white, this quickly evolved to Icee, Icee Girl and Isis. It didn't take long for her to capture our entire households heart. She and our rescue kitty became fast friends, kindred souls. The other animals immediately warmed up to her as well and she became our daughters' shadow. She goes where they go and gets so worried if they cry! Isis loves when the girls take her for walks on her leash, she's so gentle! Even if they run she pays close attention to make sure she doesn't hurt them. She always has her nose to the ground when we're outside, itching for something to chase. At bedtime she only sleeps if she's right next to her bed and I'm touching her. If I move she grabs my hand with her paw and pulls it right back to her! After taking Isis to the vet, it was confirmed that she has mammary tumors, and a large tumor in her uterus that is causing a vaginal prolapse. She was also at least 10 pounds underweight and had a double ear infection. She is currently on 2 antibiotics and 2 pain pills while I try to gather enough money for her surgery. She has to have a bilateral mastectomy and spay to remove the uterine tumor. We weren't expecting Isis to come into our lives. My husband is a seasonal worker, we are catching up on bills from the winter and don't have an emergency fund. When I found Isis she was weak, tired, and defeated. Her eyes had no light in them. Over the past week I've seen so much joy in her, she's playful she's loving and getting stronger. Please help us give her a second chance. She's so deserving

Mili came to us on September 1st 2021. We rescued her off the streets and after searching for her family with no luck she became a member of ours. Mili came to us at very underweight, flea ridden, rotting teeth, and gingival stomatitis. This April we found a tumor growing on the left side of her jaw. It’s been causing her discomfort but she will still eat for us at this time. Mili is attached to my hip, seriously, it doesn’t matter where I am or where I go in the house, she’s right on my heals. She’s so loving and kind natured. She’s making biscuits on me as I type in fact! Mili shares our home with my boyfriend who treats her as a princess and my two other cats who have slowly accepted Mili into the household. With a little fight here and there. She’s the glue to us. Since the day I rescued her she cry’s if she can’t find me and when I get home she’s always the first to greet me. It’s become habit that the first thing I do when I wake up/come home that we HAVE to have a little cuddle sesh, she absolutely demands it, and I’m happy to oblige.I also cannot hold a text book or computer on my lap without her spreading across my lap making it impossible to focus. Because Mili has a tumor her case is a little more serious. She requires removal of the entirety of her left jaw. Currently she still needs X-rays and a biopsy done to really know the extend of the cancer. Her main vet who is running lab work and X-rays is Dr. Delaney at VCA animal hospital and her vet doing the surgery will be at the Iowa State University Small animal hospital. I am a full time dental hygiene student and my boyfriend is the only person with an income in our home. He makes roughly 1,800 a month. After bills and rent we have very little money left over that we often use for food, gas, and cat supplies. We desperately need help.

I adopted Chocolate at 6 months old. He is a chocolate colored lab/pit and has high energy. I have been his primary caretaker since then. He is a young and energetic pup who adds laughter and joy to my family. He loves the outdoors and also loves to play fetch. His favorite thing I would probably have to say is puppachinos. My pet is family lover. He gets along with kids and is always up for playtime. He loves napping while the family spends time outdoors and is very energetic. My family members all see he is a big sweetheart and is always up for a good time outdoors. We have two cats and he is also very friendly towards them. He has huge floppy ears that I find to be his most unique feature. He just started to enjoy car rides more and loves peeping out the window and greeting passerby so. I think his love for puppy frappes from Starbucks are something that definitely make me smile. He is a sweetheart with other dogs and can make friends with all sized dogs and even cats I recently got him neutered yesterday. Unfortunately he ran away today morning after and got into an accident where his stitching from surgery tore. We are current at VCA in Ontario and their service is great. My dog does need surgery urgently since he is in plenty of pain and has lots of current bleeding. It would be gray to get some conical assistance with his surgery. I am currently a college student looking to transfer to CPP this fall. I am financially struggling but My dog is like family and having healthy would mean the world to me since I am his primary caretaker.
