I found Thor 12 years ago,he was a rescue from a backyard breeder. When I was healthy I volunteered as the Lincoln Park and Taylor animal shelters. I had information that they were going to round up the location. I found homes for the puppies. My husband picked out a cute black one but I was drawn to Thor. He was special. He is the only survivor of his pack. Thor is a protector. When I passed out last time he woke Joey then came n licked my face till I awoke. He loves to play his n seek with his toys. He loves tug of war. He leads his little brother around the house and yard. When I have to do a medical treatment every night for an hour he remains by my side an nuzzles my head n arm to make sure I'm ok.he guards the cat also. Very kind and caring When Thor hears certain beats or song he does these cute head movements to the beat like he's dancing. Sometimes at night he pushes between my husband and I and cuddles up to me with his nose to nose relaxing his head on the pillow. He also has the perfect stance. He sits up straight puffs out his chest and looks straight ahead. There are tons of things he does that makes his family smile. 5 months ago we had the neighbors little dog get in the yard. Thor was sniffing snowball and he bite his ear. Just a little puncture. We used antibiotic cream n kept it clean. Then about two months ago it swelled up horrible. We called the humane society everyday but was told maybe we can fit him in tomorrow. Finally when we called we told them we were afraid of him going. Septic then said it's a mass I have numerous medical issues. We survive on SSI. We also take care of our son who has mild mental health issues. We have two pitbulls was three but my 16 year old passed. Without Thor around there would be a big hole in our family. He is not a dog he's my son

Boo

Boo has been with us since he was a kitten. Originally from Dubai, he traveled over 5k miles by plane for vacation purposes but decided to stay permanently when he became best friends with our first cat, Jabari. We didn't have the heart to seperate them so he became a permanent resident of our household for the past 8 years now. Boo got his name from the first thing we could think of his color:) We weren't aware of how chatty cats were untill we met Boo. From being the size of a kitten to his adult life now he's always been vocal. His favorite activity is to sit in our sunroom and just view the birds or lounge on a chair, basking in the sun. That's always been his favorite activity. He loves sitting amongst the family the most and if anyone's at the dinner table before us, it's him. Boo's personality is so different compared to our other cats that we truly get amazed by his cleverness. Out of all our cats he's the most affectionate, your true lap cat. His presence is everything to us during a time like this. The chair he sits on is empty due to the fact that he's currently in the hospital. Currently Boo is getting blood transfusions done because his white blood cells were very low. The tests haven't shown a clear indication of what he has at this point but we're praying for a miracle. In the mean time as a pet parent we're trying our level best to give him a chance at life but we're truly drowning in vet bills and we don't find it fair that he doesn't get a chance at a healthy life As we wait on his blood results we've reached a point where we're financially struggling. The main & only provider, my father, suffered from a severe heart attack and went in for a major bypass surgery so any savings we have are being used to still have a roof over our head.

Mimosa

Mimosa is a 3-year-old Domestic Medium Hair Cat in Steamboat Springs, CO, who needs $2,000 for MRI, Spinal Fluid Tap and Testing.

Mimosa was adopted in Utah a couple of years ago. She has suspected but unconfirmed Cerebellar Hypoplasia, which means she has exceptionally poor balance. She crawls and scoots around to get where she wants to go, and loves to lay on the bed, catching sunrays. Until recently, Mim has been apparently healthy. Mim has a gentle, sweet disposition. Before her seizures began, she would greet me with a meow and purr each time I returned from work. She enjoys watching outside birds and typically doesn't mind a walk with me in her kitty pack, although I'm hesitant to take her out recently with her new history of seizures. Mims determination sets her apart from the rest. Before her seizures, she would use her claws to hoist herself up the side of the bed. She grew strong after lots of at-home PT and hydrotherapy. She climbs around less now, sadly. But her goofy flops still make me smile and I'm beyond grateful to have her in my life. The focal seizures began about 3 months ago. A vet friend recommended a visit to Colorado State University teaching school's neurological department in Fort Collins, CO. We saw Aaron Rozental, who worked with me financially during her visit to ensure she was started on anti-convulsant medications immediately. Being off work for 2 months after back surgery has made it hard. Vet wants to do an MRI and spinal fluid tap to determine if Mim has an infection not visible via bloodwork. I miss her happy, carefree self. Seizures make her angry.

I recently adopted Becky from an elderly man who could no longer care for her due to a recent move. If I didn't adopt her at that time she would be sent to the shelter and that's the least thing I wanted to see. I fell in love with Becky after meeting her and now I cannot imagine being without her. She’s a sweet and perfect companion. She is a sweet and needy cat and wants to be with me all the time. She follows me everywhere I go in my apartment and she sleeps with me every night. When I take showers she will just stand outside quietly. She loves playing hide and seek game and loves people patting on her belly. She snores everything I touch her. Sometimes I feel she is like a dog. She sometimes sounds like a dog and woofs very often, especially when she is hungry. She loves showing off how huge her belly gets and enjoys it when we pat on her belly. She also loves hiding behind a bed and observing what we do from there. She is a little overweight but she never realizes it. She is a purely indoor cat and gets so nervous outside. I visited the pet hospital and was told that The canine has an abscess around the root. This will never heal on its own and the tooth needs to be pulled. The tooth could also form a full dental abscess at any time and need to be extracted on an emergency basis. It will be very dangerous for her given that she is a senior cat now. I work for a nonprofit and live in one of the most expensive city’s in the US. Although I love giving back to my community through my nonprofit work this means that Becky’s emergency surgery is a big financial challenge.

Hello! My pets name is Mia. I rescued Mia when she was 10 weeks from an abusive breeder. Mia came to me filled with fleas, ticks and everything in between. With a lot of love and some good medication we instantly welcomed her into our family. Mia currently lives with myself, I am currently a medical student going through clinicals, which means I DO NOT get paid and haven’t in the last 3 years. Mia is so fun!! I have never seen a dog who loves to chase the pool skimmer. But she just absolutely loves it! Mia also loves the jacuzzi which is odd since I have never had another dog who likes it as much as she does. Also, she is such a snuggler but not too much, in the middle of the night if you move just a little too much she is out of there! When I first adopted Mia, I was in a very abusive relationship. After an emergency room visit for myself, I finally found the courage to leave. Despite me saving Mia, Mia truly saved me. I know that sounds very cliche, but Mia was my very first pet that I truly called my own. I had no idea what animal owners meant when they would die for their pet, Now I do. A few weeks ago mia was attacked by another dog. That fellow dog owner has refused to take a responsibility or interest in helping pay for Mia’s bills. When she was attacked her spinal cord was also damaged. Mia is currently paralyzed in her front legs as a result and needs to see a neurologist. Please help. I’m currently in my third year of clinicals for medical school. The last 7 years of my life have been in school and have not had any income during this time. I am roughly $200000 in debt from school and I just want my baby girl back.

Daisy

Daisy has been part of our family since she was a puppy. She is the youngest of our kids, they all say she’s my favorite 🤣. She enjoys playing in her yard, eating, and sleeping. Her cat sister likes to pretend she is not here and she is fine with that. But when they think no one is looking they will snuggle. Daisy has never been one to play with toys or swim. She’s much prefer a good bone or treat. Her human sister has recently introduced her to a nice treat called ice. She does enjoy going camping each summer. She is perfectly content on her bed in the living room or the bedroom. She once enjoyed the hot summer days but now she enjoys the temperature controlled house. Daisy has always been a mama’s girl. She has and will always be my kitchen partner. You can often find her watching for droppings or scraps. She had a 4 legged brother that passed away about 7 years ago. They were best friends. They liked to run and play. They often curled up together for a great nap. Daisy had what looked like an extra nipple. It went away soon but showed back up about 6 months later. It grew fast but stopped just as quick. He to her age and no issue with the growth surgery was not needed. It has now grown fast within the last couple months and causes mobility issues. She has trouble standing and walking. Without surgery euthanasia may be the only other option. I am a teacher and struggle with everyday bills. I do not have the extra $1500. Without surgery, we may have to euthanize her. I cannot look into her eyes and fail her. I have to help her get up from her bed and guide her walking.

Dale came into our lives as a stray who showed up at Justin’s shop. He was very sick and underweight. Since then we have been able to get him healthy, but unfortunately he was diagnosed with lung cancer this past month. We able to get the lung cancer taken care of but he is still in need of veterinary care for his recovery. Dale is the best boy. He’s very sweet and loves all dogs and people. He loves his family and his dog siblings Cole & Sophie. Dale is still learning to be a dog so a lot of things are new to him. We give him lots of treats and belly rubs. He is definitely a velcro dog and loves being with his people. Dale is a special boy considering his past. He is still learning to be an inside dog (we assume he was kept outside for most of his life) and he is adjusting nicely. We always laugh because Dale can be quite gassy and has the most toxic farts! He surely has no idea what we are laughing about! He also has quite the appetite, and wants all the treats for himself. Dale was diagnosed with lung cancer after an x-ray was taken last month. He was being hospitalized for a respiratory illness that turned into severe pneumonia. Dale’s surgery is being done by the oncology team. Dale has had a rough two months, we are in need of funds because we spent $7500 saving him last month and have no available resources left. The lung cancer was able to be removed, but his recovery is taking longer than expected and his hospitalization is being extended.

My pet simba came into my life when he was 8 weeks old but I came up with his name because the style of his coat and he’s the only dog in the house so he get most of the attention and love from everybody that comes over simba also means a lot to me because when we was homeless he was there with us through the hard times and helped comfort me when I’m depressed he is my emotional support animal Simba a really loving and playful dog he always wants attention and love from everyone tht comes into this house but one thing about simba he’s really good with kids he always playing with my twin babies.He Hates when people fight or argue he try’s jumps in the middle and protect whoever’s arguing or fighting Simba a playful dog he loves to run around the dog park but his favorite treats are beef flavored and he has a lot of toys but his favorite toy is his ball he goes crazy for that specific toy even through this rough time of him having his broken femur bone he still try’s to play with us or his favorite toy This a very big emergency for our family we all love and care about are pet dog simba he means a lot to our family tree we been having him since he was a puppy so he mean a lot more to my 1 year old twins ever since he got his broken leg my son come and shares his good with him or checking up on him Sudden major unexpected high expense and low income/ not enough money to pay for surgery simba means a lot to me so hopefully I could get him his help and surgery he needs this is a very hard time for me especially because simba means the world to me

Max was the most beautiful dog I saw in a flea market.I bought max 13 years ago when he was only 3 months old. he was the most cuties thing i ever saw in this window. I felt in love with him and decided to buy him. I always wanted a poodle and he really won my heart. taking him home to meet my other poodle Shyshy was the best thing that ever happen to us. max and shy shy always waited til i open the house door. and for me to step out so they can ran around and play, my grand kids will come home and they will always play with them. the dogs love to be treated like queen and king. they loved the children and always care for them. Max always protected us and will always let us know of any danger near. we aways felt safe when he with us. Max at feeding time he will hide his treats and no one will know where he will hide it. he will always come to us to play with him. he loves his noisy toys but the fun about his toys is that he will tear them apart and take out the squeaky noise out of it. we will just laugh and buy more toys. the toys he get he will always bring it up to us so we can throw it to him or out in the field. Today max is suffering a tumor on his right foot that have to be removed. He never had a problem until now, his foot kept getting swollen and bleeding all the time. keep hopping on his leg.it hurt to see him that way. I miss my old Max that use to play with us all the time. he is always on his bed and unhappy. At this point i can not afford Max surgery or meds. my job has cut my hours and Shyshy had just pass away this week of her heart disease that i been treating for two years. it kept me into a financially disappointed. im praying to have Max back to normal and play with again.
