Cinnamon

This Golden Girl Needs Help

Strong Paws Rescue

Cinnamon Deserves a Second Chance at a Healthy, Happy Life At approximately 10 years old, Cinnamon has already endured more than her share of hardship. After spending months at the Montgomery County shelter, this sweet senior girl was finally saved by Strong Paws Rescue. But her road to recovery is far from over. Cinnamon is covered in lumps and masses, including a concerning growth on her paw. She has already undergone testing to determine the nature of the mass, and her rescuers are anxiously awaiting results to learn whether surgery will be necessary. As if that weren’t enough, Cinnamon has also tested positive for heartworms, a potentially life-threatening condition that requires treatment. After everything she’s endured, Cinnamon deserves so much more than another day of discomfort and uncertainty. She deserves the opportunity to heal, feel safe, and enjoy the happy, carefree retirement every senior dog should have. Strong Paws Rescue has already begun addressing her medical needs, but the costs are mounting. If surgery is recommended, they anticipate needing an additional $2,500 on top of the veterinary expenses already incurred. Cinnamon also needs heartworm treatment to give her the best possible chance at a healthy future. Cinnamon has waited long enough for her second chance. Now she needs our help to make it count. Your donation will help cover her veterinary care, potential surgery, and heartworm treatment. No gift is too small to make a difference for this deserving senior girl.

Daisy

A Mama, 8 Puppies, and $6,000 in Vet Bills

Missoula, MT • Great Pyrenees Rescue, Montana

Daisy deserved a fresh start. When we stepped up to help her, we didn’t yet know just how much this sweet mama’s rescue story would involve. Daisy came from Flathead County, Montana, where dogs were left behind after their owners abandoned the property. The owners took most of the dogs elsewhere, leaving some behind. The situation had been on animal control’s radar for several years, and we stepped up to take in seven dogs, including Daisy, who arrived malnourished and in need of medical care. When Daisy was rescued, she was underweight, had fleas and worms, and had lost a significant amount of hair from the prolonged effects of an untreated flea infestation. Despite everything she had endured, she remained incredibly sweet. But when our team went to pick her up, we discovered something we hadn’t expected: Daisy was pregnant! Her pregnancy had placed even more strain on her already undernourished body, making it all the more important that she and her puppies receive the care they needed. Suddenly, taking in seven rescued dogs also meant preparing for eight tiny new arrivals. In late summer, Daisy gave birth to eight beautiful puppies. She devoted herself to caring for them until they were ready to be weaned, and we took on the added responsibility of making sure this unexpected little family received the care they needed. Getting Daisy and her eight puppies through this chapter came with nearly $6,000 in veterinary expenses. Daisy needed wellness exams, bloodwork, testing for Brucella canis, ear cytology and treatment, vaccinations, pain and nausea medication, and spay surgery. Her eight puppies also needed wellness exams and wellness panels, vaccinations, and spay or neuter surgeries as they grew. The documented veterinary expenses for Daisy and her litter total $5,999.65. Those bills represent the care it took to help this little family move forward. Rescuing dogs means taking on their medical needs, even when the costs are unexpected. These expenses don’t disappear when the immediate rescue is over, and every dollar we raise helps support the work we do for dogs in need. That’s where you can help. Your donation can help us cover the cost of Daisy and her puppies’ care, allowing us to continue helping other dogs and keep saying, YES to dogs who arrive needing safety, medical attention, and a chance at a better life. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps support that work. Daisy and her puppies got their chance. Please consider donating to help us be there for the next dogs who need one. Thank you for being part of their journey and for standing with us as we continue showing up for dogs in need.
