Help Bella get Mammary Tumor Removal — Novato, CA

Novato, CA

Bella the English bulldog has been a part of our family since she was 4 months old. She was surrendered to us from a family who could no longer have her in their home. She quickly became a part of our family with her silliness and adorable snoring. Even though she looks serious, she is the most loving and attention seeking dog you could ever meet. She definitely loves humans more than other dogs! Bella was taken into the vet and found with various tumours in her mammary gland. One of the tumours was detected as malignant. Being the largest one it has grown rapidly. She is currently scheduled for surgery at Golden Gate Veterinary Specialists in San Rafael, CA on Sep, 3. If the tumours are not removed they could begin metastasis and spread to her other vital organs. Bella still has many years to live and remain a part of our family and we are not giving up on her no matter what. She has 2 best friends. Being her companion Lulu the golden doodle and Roanna her 6 year old human who is always by her side. We love her so much and it has been so hard seeing her with her tumours and how uncomfortable they are for her. We will be by her side till the end! The reality is that we have never been in the best economic situation. We have had many expenses having to do with family losses and tragedies that have left us in a very rough spot economically. Our only hope of being able to afford Bella’s surgery is by borrowing money or trying to find any possible support to help us cover these expenses.

Help Oliver get lesion cytology, bacterial culture, xrays, biobsy — Lafayette, LA

Lafayette, LA

Oliver is my three-year-old, 13-pound Maltipoo and the sweetest little shadow. He is timid with the outside world, but at home he is silly, playful, affectionate, and full of personality. We lovingly say, “I jussa baby,” because that is exactly who he is—our little baby. Oliver came into my life nearly three years ago and quickly became my constant companion. He sleeps tucked beside me every night and has comforted me through some of the hardest seasons of my life. He isn’t simply my pet; he is my family, my comfort, and one of the greatest loves of my life. What initially appeared to be one of Oliver’s recurring allergy-related skin sores has developed into multiple painful, ulcerated lesions beside his eye and along the lower eyelid. Beneath the visible lesions is a deeper cavity with severely inflamed tissue and gray-green discharge. His exact diagnosis is still pending, but there is serious concern for a deep infection or other ulcerative skin condition that could affect the surrounding eye tissue. Oliver needs an urgent examination, eye testing, diagnostic sampling, professional wound care, pain relief, and medication based on the veterinarian’s findings. He will be treated at Town & Country Veterinary Clinic in Lafayette, Louisiana. Oliver has helped carry me through some of the deepest loss and grief of my life. He may not understand why I am hurting, but he always seems to know when I need him—curling up beside me, following me from room to room, and reminding me that I am not alone. He brings laughter, comfort, and tenderness into our home, and our family cannot imagine daily life without his sweet, playful spirit. Helping Oliver recover means giving back even a small part of the unconditional love and comfort he has given all of us. I am currently unable to work because of ongoing medical issues, leaving our household with limited income and no financial room for an unexpected veterinary emergency. We are reaching out to family and using every resource available, but the cost of Oliver’s examination, diagnostic testing, and treatment is more than we can manage alone. Asking for help is difficult, but delaying his care could allow these painful lesions to worsen or endanger his eye. Any donation, no matter the amount, will help Oliver receive the urgent care he needs at Town & Country y

Help Lori Feel Like Herself Again

Chelsea, MI • Barn Sanctuary

Lori has called Barn Sanctuary home since 2018, when she and her best mate, Greg, were rescued from a hoarding situation. The two became Barn Sanctuary’s very first duck residents and have been closely bonded ever since. Lori is one of the sanctuary’s shyer residents. While she prefers to keep her distance from humans, she’s happy to spend her days alongside her duck friends—and rain or shine, one of her favorite things to do is swim in the pool. Recently, Lori’s caregivers noticed that something wasn’t right. She had lost weight during her last two health checks and began showing concerning changes, including broodiness, loss of appetite, and lethargy. Because Lori also has a history of laying soft-shelled eggs, her caregivers knew it was important to have her examined and make sure there wasn’t a more serious reproductive issue. Fecal testing revealed high levels of yeast and harmful gut bacteria that could explain why she hasn’t been feeling like herself. Lori is now receiving medication to relieve her gastrointestinal symptoms and help restore her health. Her veterinary team expects her to make a full recovery over the next few weeks, but she’ll need continued care and close monitoring along the way. After everything Lori endured before arriving at Barn Sanctuary, she deserves to spend her days feeling safe, healthy, and comfortable—with Greg and her other duck friends never far away.

Help Chata Beat Heartworm Twice

San Angelo, TX • Montana’s Pack Rescue

Chata is a sweet and gentle giant who recently found herself on the euthanasia list at a high-kill shelter in Houston. Like so many larger dogs, Chata was struggling to find a way out—and being a heartworm positive senior made her chances of leaving the shelter alive even smaller. But Chata had people fighting for her. The shelter volunteers tirelessly advocated for her survival, sharing her story and doing everything they could to make sure someone saw just how special she was. Thanks to their determination, Montana’s Pack Rescue stepped in and saved Chata before it was too late. Sadly, this isn’t Chata’s first time needing a second chance. Records show that Chata was adopted from the same shelter in 2022, when she was also heartworm positive. Somehow, for reasons we may never know, she ended up back at the shelter years later—once again facing heartworm disease and this time, the possibility of euthanasia. Despite everything she has been through, Chata couldn’t be sweeter. Her submissive affection melts the hearts of everyone she meets and that is why so many fought for her life. Now that Chata is safe with Montana’s Pack Rescue, the next step is helping her get healthy. Heartworm disease is serious, but it is very treatable. Chata will need veterinary care and heartworm treatment before she can truly put her shelter days behind her and begin looking forward to the life she deserves. Chata came frighteningly close to losing that chance simply because she is a big senior dog with medical needs. Volunteers fought to keep her story from ending at the shelter, and Montana’s Pack Rescue answered their call. Now Chata needs our help to finish her medical journey so she can find her forever family during her golden years.
