Boa is a Pitbull that my son brought home. He soon after moved out and was unable to care for her at 4 months. I took care of her, alone to the best of my knowledge. I knew nothing about dogs before. I grew to love bo so much as my own child. I think I didnt fully understand how animals work as they get older. Because I never imagined this, at her age of 6years old. I feel that I failed her. Sat. July 12, 2025 Boa was stuck on the basement steps unable to move. I lifted her off. I then realized she couldn't walk properly, she's limping. I took her to the ER and was told she had a torn acl. I was horrified. I contacted a few places and came up with maryland veterinary surgical services. They were able to more tell me a price over the phone. I already had spent 600 so I didnt have it Boa is so special because she's opened my eyes and life to a new love and appreciation I have for animals. I never could have imagined i would become an animal over by taking care of her. My friend calls me peta. I help cats in the neighborhood with food and I just love animals. Boa has changed my life and everyone around her. She's so sweet and kind it hurts me to see her like this. It would mean the world to me if I am quickly able to help Boa. I fear with my help alone that she may damage her other foot because I am not able to help her right now and im not sure of when I would be able to come up with 5000. Mia was rescued by my mother about eleven years ago. But Mia chose me as her mother. She is my heart dog. Mia has been there for me throughout my teen and young adult years and now I am trying to return the favor and be there for her during her time of need. Mia was diagnosed with an enlarged heart two years ago. We tell her it's because she loves too much and it really is true. Mia was diagnosed with an enlarged heart two years ago. As of a few days ago her usual cough has turned into a constant hacking/cough even when resting. She had x rays and blood work done which showed her blood oxygen level was extremely low, no signs of heart failure but left questions of what's going on. Next step is visiting a cardiologist to further look at her heart. Mia loves everyone but especially myself. She chose me and is happy as long as we are together. Doesnt matter if it's flying on a plane, riding in a basket on my bike or paddleboarding on the lake. She is always ready for an adventure as long as it is with her mom. I am on a limited income and with Mia's recent tests and meds costing over 800.00 the soon to be cardiologist costing 1245.00 and then a follow up appointment to discuss what to do next plus meds I am not sure where all the money is going to come from.

Luka

A friend of mine acquired her through the humane society but early on she was showing signs of pet aggression towards their small cats and they were scared for their child. Instead of sending her back to the humane society, I offered to take her in. That was 4 years ago. According to her vet (Skaer vet in Wichita), at some point, both the ligaments in her back knees somehow completely tore and never healed properly. Now, she can barely stand, has trouble walking, won't eat or drink on her own. She pees in her sleep or while laying down because she can't get up and squat without pain. She's the sweetest girl. I have a doberman named Loki that has been extra affectionate with her the last few weeks. Luka loves rope toys and Kong balls, but she won't even touch them now. I am a disabled veteran, formerly army. I get a monthly pension but I also just bought a house so these extra vet bills are making it harder. I'm gonna have to choose soon between making my mortgage or vet bills and I don't want to have to choose that.

Rocket was a Christmas present for my kids 10 years ago. My son said he looked like the raccoon from the guardian of the galaxy movie. We lived in a house until last year and moved into an apartment. Everyone that meets him, loves him. He is known as the welcome committee. He recently started having blood in his urine and vomiting. He hasn't been his go lucky self and that makes me very sad. Are vet is lonetree in Omaha, ne. We have a niece that has autism. She is five and she calls twice a day to talk to rocket. She calls him bog. She's nonverbal and talks with a device and he is on there along with his two sibling cats. We lost one of are other dogs to old age a couple years ago. He is very special to everybody that meets him. My husband's job is are only income. I'm a full time student at Iowa Western. Just yesterday I found out I have to have ankle surgery next week. Rocket is like a child to us. He has a sweater that says I'm the favorite kid. My kids love and hate the sweater.

Sophie came to me from a wonderful woman who loved her very much for years. She joined me and her doggy sisters and has been through a lot with me. From a pyo to a big move from IN to OH she's been the best girl. Shes like my soul mate and I can't imagine being without her (or her leg). We live in an apartment and she's the quietest husky. Sophie's leg was broken while rough housing with the other dogs. Unfortunately it's a rather bad fracture and needs to be surgically repaired or amputated. I really don't want to amputate so I'm hoping that I can get her pins and a plate if needed. She's being cared for by springboro veterinary after being seen by Medvet Dayton. Shes a talker sometimes but normally she's just the sweetest love bug. One of the quietest huskies I've met and she loves her 'baby' husky and hiking. She has gone everywhere with me for years and even trained to be my psd. This was totally unexpected and I basically live paycheck to paycheck so this expense is way more than I had saved up. Just her X-rays and emergency visits cleared me out and now I'm struggling with what to do

Koda came into our life five years ago when we rescued him from an organization that was at PetSmart. He was a medium size dog that we were told that was probably around two years old to find out that he was only six months old so he doubled in size very quickly he has been a wonderful part of our family. We have another dog that will be totally lost without him. Koda recently tore his ACL and requires the surgery to fix unfortunately for him. He’s a larger size dog, so it’s not easy for him to get around to go to the bathroom and keep him contained in an area. Dakotah is definitely a talker. He is very vocal loud and a big boy people are thrown off by his size and how big of a teddy bear he is he loves to sit on people’s lap and he definitely thinks he’s a small boy and doesn’t realize the way he has on him. He brings such joy to our family. I would hate to see him have to be put down because he can’t receive the surgery he needs. Due to the amount of money that the surgery is requiring is just not feasible for our family right now we also had to purchase a surgery for other dog a few years back. With Dakotah being so young and because of his size he would not be able to sustain not having the surgery

One day friend showed up at my door with this black and white dog she said I found her tied to a lamp post with a sign that said cannot take care of. I just could not leave her there she was so scared. She also said I cannot take her can you keep her for now until we find her a home? I said of course. This dog and I spent the day together and I fell in love. I named her Kati and she was staying. That was 10 yeads ago. Recently I started noticing some changes. She had an increase in her appetite, she was gaining weight, licking her paws and started panting a lot. So I took her to our ver. Dreaming summit animal hospital. There we found out she could have cushings decease. These symptoms are caused by either the pituitary or the adrenal gland releasing to much of the hormone cortisol. Kati has always been a very happy girl. she us very smart and very friendly but also very protective if she thinks someone is bothering me. I love her so much and have done my best to take good care of her. She does not deserve to have this desease she is so uncomfortable but endures it like a champ. I despertly need to have the specifgic test for that deseaase done so we can start treatment. I am sight impaired and on social security with the prices of things lately we are just getting by. I could not afford the test for cushings.. I need an accurate diagnosis so i can start treatment as soon as possible so I can give my baby some relief. I love her so much.

Hello everyone I would like to introduce you to tiny girl that I just rescued from bad situation with whom I will not speak of but when I got her, she came from a place that wouldn’t take her outside to potty and she smelled like feces when I got her, she was whimpering and crying when she saw me after the ammonium’s person surrendered her to me, she clinged to my arm the whole ride home. We desperately need funds and support to get her seen by the veterinarians office soon as possible, when I got her, I immediately took her home, fed her, and then gave her a bath, as I was bathing her I noticed something not normal under her belly. I asked my mom to check it for me and she confirmed it was some type of mass Growing in this poor babygirl, Im heart broken 💔 Penny (tiny) is the most absolute SWEETEST most purse puppy diva ever. She gets dressed up in little dresses and hoodies, she loves to be outside in the sun when she gets the chance, she loves to be held and picked up and carried around in my sweatshirt balled up🥰 she just wants all the attention and when people meet her, they just fall in love with how small she is. She’s the cutest. We are very low on funds and we are even trying to have garage sales and sell homemade dog treats to raise money for our needs, I have never made a campaign before so I hope all goes well and people think are Tiny girl is worth helping, all I want is for her to get help.

Tyson had been in a few shelters before we adopted him in 2020. It was love at first sight! Tyson has a low-key personality and loves to play as much as he loves to nap. He has been a wonderful addition to our family. The shelter named him Tyson because he's a Boxer mix, but I tell everyone he's named after 90s supermodel Tyson Beckford. He's our handsome boy! Tyson had to have emergency gall bladder surgery to save his life and he is currently recovering at Partner Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center in Henrico, VA. Tyson's favorite toy is his stuffed moose, Moosey. Whenever we come through the door at home, Tyson runs up to greet us with Moosey in his mouth. He expects us to drop everything to play tug of war with him. Poor Moosey gets pulled and shaken all over the place. Thankfully, we have a stash of Mooseys that we switch out from time to time. Tyson's medical care has been wonderful, but, unfortunately, the cost is astronomical. We want the best outcome for Tyson and have done everything we can to come up with the money for his emergency surgery and recovery. Tyson is such a good boy and has more life to live.
