Sam is a sweet, gentle Maltipoo who wouldn’t hurt a butterfly. He lives with my family in Brooklyn, but I’m the one paying for his care right now. Seeing him in pain is breaking my heart. I’ve had to drop my summer college class and start looking for a job just to afford his vet bills. I’m doing all I can. Sam was hit by a bike and suffered a serious tail injury (sacrococcygeal luxation), which is causing him pain and possible nerve damage. He was seen at Veterinary Emergency Group – South Brooklyn and now needs an MRI to assess the extent of the injury and potential long-term effects. This is an emergency, and I’m doing everything I can to get him help. He’s just a 1-year-old Maltipoo—so gentle, s Sam is such a sweet boy. He’s chunky, goofy, and always wants to play. When you walk near him, he instantly rolls onto his back for belly rubs, tail wagging nonstop. He has big beady brown eyes that you can’t say no to—especially when he’s asking for a treat. He’s a little awkward and gets nervous outside, but that just makes him more lovable. He has a little duck that he walks around with all day I don’t have a job, and I had to drop my summer college class to try to afford Sam’s care. He’s always been there for me—through heartbreak, loneliness, and dark thoughts. He comforted me when no one else did. Now I need to be there for him.

Lucy was an unwanted gift. That we fell in love with. My babies fell in love with her and she is so good to them. They have been so upset she is sick. Lucy out of no where started having diarrhea on 4th of July. I started calling vets and trying to her seen. July 7th I really thought we was gonna loose her. Got her into Faulkville Animal Hospital. They are Stumped. Fecal was negative. Blood work some things were off. They wanted to go an xray but I can not afford it. Spent 514 of money I did not have. But trying medication. Lucy is such huge part of our family. Her favorite toy is that moving ball. She is so gentle with the babies. My daughter loves to make videos with her. (That's my baby doggie) I hear that saying like 50 times a day. Lucy loves to swim and hope to catch a fish. Lucky for the fish, Lucy is a fat girl. But her rolls are adorable. Lucy is a healthy dog and never had issues like this before. Of course something would happen like this would happen during summertime. Two kids in summer camp so I can work. I pay 350 a week. So things are tight and I work to pay childcare and food for them.

Mateo

Mateo is my 5-year-old shih tzu-poodle mix and my everyday sidekick. I’ve had him since he was a pup as he came into my life as a gift, and we’ve been stuck together ever since. It’s just the two of us a lot of the time while I finish school and work. He’s been through every late-night study session and hard day with me, listening in as I rant about my day serving. Mateo has been having some dental issues that turned out to be more serious than expected. What I thought would be an already pricey day turned into a more complicated (and pricey) procedure due to his small breed. We’re working with Broadlands Animal Hospital, and while this isn’t an emergency, it’s medically necessary and time-sensitive to avoid further pain or infection. Mateo is full of personality and attitude. He “spins” when he’s excited for treats and gently huffs when he wants attention. He’s super friendly with people as a covid pup and always knows when I’ve had a rough day. He loves plushy toys (but will tear it apart), and his favorite game is a combo of tag tug-of-war. He’s been my emotional support in ways I didn’t even realize I needed. I’m a full-time student and had around $1,500 saved for Mateo’s care, but it was recently stolen. I reported it, but had no luck. Without pet insurance, this procedure is a lot to cover alone. It's all just tough timing and Mateo's health is important so every bit helps. ♡♡♡

Rosie

Rosie is a 7 year old Cairn Terrier in Norlina, NC, who needs $2,000 for Extractions of 4 Teeth.

Rosie came to us in March from my aunt, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2024. She feared Rosie would miss her too much and asked us to adopt her. We believe choosing Rosie’s future was the last thing she had control over. I brought Rosie to NC, and she now thrives on our 30-acre farm with our other dogs, living a happy, active life. Since adopting Rosie, we’ve been getting her up to date on vet care. Our vet, Banfield of Wake Forest, NC, discovered she has four cracked teeth that need to be removed, estimating the cost at about $850 per tooth. Rosie is gentle, loving, and has brought so much joy to our family. She’s great with our grandkids and gets along wonderfully with our other dogs. Her presence reminds us daily of my aunt’s love and the special bond they shared. She’s more than a pet—she’s family. We’re on a fixed income since my wife’s recent retirement as a teacher, and combined with vet bills for our two other dogs, this expense is overwhelming. Getting Rosie healthy again would lift a huge burden, honor my aunt’s memory, and let us fully enjoy our family time with

Blizzard started out as my daughters pet. She had adopted her in Florida. When my daughter found out she was pregnant they moved to Virginia and in with me in a little apartment. I instantly started loving and taking care of Blizzard. My daughter had to move out and the place would not accept pets so I got to keep B with me. I have had her as mine for about 3 years now and she keeps me going! B has been pretty healthy for the time I have had her. She has had a couple of problems with hot spots. This past weekend is when the trouble started. She started feeling bad Saturday and by the time I got her an appointment on Monday it was not looking good. We ran a lot of test and drained my bank account. We are being told more test are needed. My Blizzard is the sweetest and most annoying pet. God I love her. She greets me at the door when I get home and will not let me do anything until I take her for her walk. She is not much on being outside except to take her nightly walks. She loves her AC! I have been dealing with helping my kids as they live with me and pay bills but one lost his job and I covered. He got a job but then the next lost his job and I covered bills again. I am just trying to give this little girl all I can.

I always believed that we don't rescue them, they rescue us!We definitely been thru alot, emotionally & mentally Especially after my Father's sudden passing, for last 3 yrs everything has been on my shoulders and with him getting old and his skin infections & allergies, it's just getting so hard. In this economy with a lil sister & a mom 2 tc off, I can barely pull out anything extra for his meds I'm taking care of most of his issues. What he currently needs is to go see the vet again, and get a triple antibiotic/antigungal ointment. 2. He needs to get them orally too. 3. And get on trifexis/simparica trio which i think I might be able to pay for $175 for 6months dose. Oh, he's is my and my mom's emotional support buddy. Too smart to even wrap your head around. Very playfully and sweet around kids and gentle with newborns, and noone could even tell he can have an ounce of protection/guarding training build into him, until I say so, or he senses something. Since he came in my life, I have never locked my house behind me, never! Trying to save but everytime I have enough 4 vet, something major breaks which needs immediate attention. He's has licked his paws raw, side wall are swollen, looks like there's is puss, obviously its painful, so I put a cone on him for now. Ugh! I hate this, im sorry 😞

Scout

Scout is a 9 month old Mix-Breed in Fresno, CA, who needs $2,000 for Parvovirus Emergency Treatment.

Walking to school along the canal, I noticed three puppies wandering about. The next day same thing, so I bought some bulk dry food and left it there for them. They came out to eat, but would not let me or animal control approach them (they hid under a c container. Finally, after three weeks of feeding them, I and a gentleman rescued the pups. Scout lives with me and 4 other dogs now. Scout loves her treats. I noticed that she didn’t want one and then she vomited. Additionally, she became very upset with the other animals being around her. I took her immediately to Cedar vet in Fresno, where they diagnosed her as having parvovirus. The bill ended up being higher than $3000 which is more than I can afford. The best part is, they saved her life. Scout is adorable. She loves people and she cuddles up with the other dogs. The older she gets the more dominant she becomes, but she’s still very loving. The other dogs taught her to be more assertive and she is developing into a very brave girl with a sweet personality. She weighs about 40 pounds, but acts like all of our smaller dogs, climbing onto my lap and resting her head on my arm. I went back to school after losing business to Covid mandates. My job shut down and being out of town, it’s been hard to regrow. Upon finishing my degree, I have loans to pay back. As I approach the workforce, there have been some hurdles with this one being significant.

Pink is a 4 yr old French Bulldog with the sweetest eyes that can see into your soul. She wins people over quickly as she gets so excited to play with any kiddos or other animals. She currently lives with just me and always looking for a friend. When she hears me say “walk” or jingle of her leash she and I do a Happy Dance and she jumps and wiggles with excitement. I ❤️ that part of her!!! Pink unexpectedly got pregnant and had to have an emergency C-section ($6k). She had 3 puppies who passed away within the first week. The trauma from the C-section has now resulted to a prolapse ( WARNING Graphic Pic) and will need to have surgery to repair. It took a little time for me to warm up to Pink but now she is my BEST FRIEND… everywhere I go there she follows… I tell her she is the most beautiful girl in the world and my favorite stalker… lol. She has brought out the softer and playful side of me that I have never experienced before. She is incredibly in tune with my emotions and always gives me kisses and comfort. I’m currently facing severe financial hardship and was unprepared for the C-section debt its was heartbreaking when all 3 pups died. I have no job or income & hoping to get CalFresh for food. I’m so overwhelmed financially & she is clearly uncomfortable and need surgery asap

Winston was an unexpected gift from my husband. He has brought so much fun and laughter to our home. My 6 year old adores him, they are best friends. They spend all day playing. Winston enjoys pranking us by taking items and running with it, or he loves to howl! He is incredibly smart knowing how to roll over, sit pretty, shake and lay down. He goes EVERYWHERE with me. My son calls him his brother Winston and my son where playing, when my son threw one of Winstons toys down the stairs and as they raced eachother to get it, Winston fell down the stairs and landed on his paw wrong. He fractured it in 2 places. He requires an emergency surgery. Winston loves to be chased, he also enoys scaring the cat! He keeps our entire family laughing. while im at work he goes to his grandmas to be spoiled. He loves a morning puppy cup from the coffee shop where he is adored. He enjoys rabbit chew sticks and any squeeky toy. He howls when you tell him no! He starts wagging his tail and crawling towards you to lick you when you say "awwww" to him. I have a small savings but its still not enough. I was not expecting his surgery to be so expensive, im willing to be late on my mortgage or not pay a bill but its still not enough, thankfully the amount is a bit lower that originally quoted.
