Kiska

Kiska is a 15 year old Norwegian Forest Cat in Sacramento, CA, who needs $11,192 for LTL Amputation & Blood 🩸 Transfusion Night Before.

Sacramento, CA

We got Kiska at least over 14 years ago when we still lived in Woodland, CA. Kiska was adopted from the Yolo Animal Shelter in Woodland! Everybody who meets Kiska remarks about what a beautiful kitty she is! Kiska also is very loving & affectionate with long grey & white hair! She has been an important member of our family for a long time now! Kiska currently resides in Natomas, CA with us! Kiska has a cancerous tumor on her front left paw which Must be surgically removed! Kiska also has an infection on the same paw which has become quite a powerful odor! Kiska was taken to Marqueen pet emergency & specialty in Roseville for a surgical consultation with Dr. Pete Walsh! We were just emailed an estimate from Marqueen for Kiska’s 2-3 day care plan ranging from 8 to 12,000 Dollars!! Kiska is a very special & loving member of our family! She was very playful & curious in her younger years! Kiska is generally mild mannered & our beloved fur baby! She usually gets along with just about everyone as well as other cats 🐈 or animals! Kiska used to enjoy chasing things around the house as well as watching television! Kiska’s head would track onscreen things from left to right! Our household is on a fixed income, (Social Security with small retirement pension) however, Kiska means the world to us, (our beloved fur baby) has been a longtime member of our family we would hate to be forced to have her euthanized simply due to a giant veterinary bill!!

Buttercup (aka: Sister)

Buttercup (aka: Sister) is a 10 year old Mix-Breed in Lafayette , IN, who needs $200 for Exam and Testing.

Lafayette, IN

Buttercup (aka: Sister) was my foster ‘fail’. I fostered her and her sister when they were just 2 months old for our local humane society. I fell in love, but her sister was already spoken for, so once they were available for adoption, I made it official. Buttercup learned everything from me—how to give and receive love, kisses, etc. She’s been my (unofficial) emotional support animal ever since. Buttercup started showing signs of being sick last week, and by the weekend she wasn’t eating and only drinking a sip or two. The vet clinic—Wildcat Valley Animal Clinic in Lafayette, Indiana—is hoping to get her in tomorrow for her initial appointment and bloodwork, so I don’t yet have a diagnosis or an idea of how much care she will need. She’s lethargic, weak, and has lost visible weight. I’m autistic, disabled, chronically ill, and was recently diagnosed with complex-PTSD. Buttercup has been my (unofficial) emotional support animal for 10 1/2 years. I nursed her back to health as a kitten, fell in love, and we’ve been snuggling ever since. She’s always brought me comfort and lots of laughter. I’d be lost without her. I’m unable to work anymore and am going through the process to apply for disability benefits. It’s left me with no way to provide vet care in emergency situations, like this one.

Pepper

Pepper is a 4 year old American Bulldog in Antioch, CA, who needs $1,268 for Cardiology Exam.

Antioch, CA

On 10-18-2025, my 15 years of age pitbull, I'd had since he was 6 weeks old, passed. Thankfully I retired in March 2025, allowing me to spend approximately 8 uninterrupted joyful months with him and to provide end of life care, smothering him with hugs, kisses, and love. One night while sitting and crying over the loss, and scrolling through adoptapet.com, I came across Pepper. I adopted Pepper on 1-18-2026, took her to an unfamiliar Vet on 1-21-2026 whom advised me that she has a heart murmur. Concerned with the diagnosis, I took her to the Vet Hospital I previously used, for a second opinion. Her heart murmur was confirmed, stated as being loud and concerning, requiring an examination and/or treatment by a cardiologist. Sage Vet Center in Concord CA was contacted. When scrolling through adoptapet.com website I was not sure if I was ready to be a pet mom to another fur baby just yet, because I was still hurting over my last. But when I came across Peppers pic my heart melted, it was her eyes. When I met her, I had to hold back tears. She came to me and never left my side. When we got home, it was like she'd always been with me, I was meant to be her mom. In order to determine cause of the heart murmur, and/or potential severity, the cost will be $1268 for a cardiologist exam, unaffordable on a fixed income but she's the sweetest, most loving, girl ever and deserves the best chance at a wonderful life. I absolutely love her.
