This week, I adopted a dog named Peanut Butter, and was told her vaginal issue would heal, but it's worsened. The vet quoted treatment costs between $1,500 and $8,000. I love her deeply, and my son can't sleep without her, but I can't afford the expenses. If anyone can help, I'd be forever grateful. Otherwise, I may have to make the painful decision to put her down. Peanut Butter has been diagnosed with vaginal prolapse, which is a serious condition that requires immediate attention. The vet informed me that without proper treatment, it could lead to further complications. The estimated cost for her care ranges between $1,500 and $8,000. Hickory came into our life 8 years ago as a rescue. When we first rescued him, he was very shy and hesitant around people, but he quickly warmed up. Hickory and I quickly became best friends and were inseparable. He has been and continues to be the most affectionate and loving dog to everyone he meets. He is truly the definition of a man’s best friend. Hickory’s current medical condition is a CCL tear and will require surgery to repair. This one is especially difficult giving that he is a tripod pup and is now very limited on what he can/can’t do. Currently, we are working with Bay State Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Services. Hickory is such a tough pup and we know he will bounce back from this. Hickory is such a people person. He loves everyone he comes in contact with but more than anything, he has a special bond with myself and his dog mom. He has been our best friend for so many years. He loves visiting all family members and gets so excited when they come over for visits. He loves when we come home & bring him more toys to play with and absolutely loves to be outside and go on walks. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this was a sudden expense that we weren’t prepared for. Unfortunately we don’t have pet insurance and have to handle all expenses out of pocket. This isn’t a surgery that can wait on, so we didn’t have any time to save more money.

Pepper was one of 9 puppies in her litter! She currently lives as the only puppy in the house and she runs it!! She was previously placed into her first home at 7 weeks for about 3 days before they surrendered her back covered in fleas..roundworms..and dirt. We immediately got her where she needed to be and into the happy girl she is now. Pepper unfortunately tried to be a big girl and jumped off the bed by herself and injured her back right leg. We have come to find out that it is fractured in her tibial area and will permanently affect her movement if it doesn’t get repaired soon. Pepper is the most energetic puppy we have ever come across in our entire lives. She is persistent and definitely likes to get her way. She absolutely loves to run and play with her toys so this injury is really setting her back in her development. Pepper is our first puppy together. Me and my partner are freshly 22 and 20 years old. This was a complete shock to us and we are devastated that this happened under our watch. We want our girl to have the best life possible.

I got Kaya in California when she was 8 weeks old in 2014 and we moved to Ohio in 2015. She lives with her Mom, Dad and 2 canine sisters and 2 feline brothers. Kaya has arthritis and recently found out she is diabetic. She takes insulin twice a day and gets a shot for her arthritis once a month. She needs dental work done and a fractured molar removed which is starting to abscess. She has been her Mommy's rock. She is laid back and a Momma's girl. She likes to play with her little sisters but has a hard time sometimes due to the arthritis. I am currently fighting disability for fibromyalgia. Kaya has been my rock through a lot of hard times. Now she needs me to be her rock. She is good hearted and just a sweet angle.

Smirnoff was only 6 weeks old when I purchased her. What sold me was she was white and a blue eye. She was definitely the apple of my eye. As I work from home, she constantly wanted to be on my lap... she thought she was a lap puppy still. I ended up getting another puppy, this one is a Lab/ boxer mix. I ended up with a 3rd puppy, she too is a white boxer, Smirnoff's sister. My son took her outside for a walk/ run. When they returned, nothing seemed wrong, but about 15 min later she was limping. I asked my son about what they did, and he was puzzled. I watched her for 3 days after that, but did not see like she was healing on her own. I took her to the vet and was informed she tore a muscle and will need a surgery to be able to repair it called TPLO. Smirnoff is a happy girl. Though she is still a baby, her excitement she gives us all is so nice to see. I am basically the girls care giver, so when I have to work in the office, they are very snooty with the family until I get back home, then I get lots of love. When this emergency came up, it is very unexpected and costly. Even though my vet can do the surgery instead of going to the emergency hospital, the cost quoted to me was no more than 4k. I know we can come up with some, but don't believe we can do it all.

My girl Spice came into my life because I was looking for a chihuahua. I went to Kansas City Pet Project and was looking at the dogs, I came up to this kennel that had a brown and white chihuahua. Her kennel had plastic on the front of it so I was not able to pet her. She just stared at me. I knocked on her kennel and she just laid there. I told myself I had to have her, so that is what I did. I woke up and Spice was coughing up phlegm, so I took her to the vet and they performed an x-ray and found a large mass on her spleen which was pushing on all her organs causing lots of problems. Dr. Smith @ Stepping Stone Animal Hospital said she could perform the surgery on her which absolutely made my day. I thought I was going to have to put her down but Dr. Smith has given her some more time! Spice has always been special to me & my baby since I adopted her. She was abandoned by her previous owners so it tugged at my heart & I told myself I was going to spoil her. She has been through a lot with me. When I was sad & crying, she would come up & nudge me to pet her. She has been with me through my mom's passing. If I didn't have her, I don't know what I would have done. It will mean the world to me to have my baby girl back to normal and have her health better that it was before. Your fur babies are like your kids, you want to do everything you can for them no matter what it takes!

Kermit lives with myself and my husband. We live in a state where we get snow and below zero temps in the winter. We have several outside steps that Kermit needs to climb down. We brought Kermit to the vet at Stonecliff Animal Clinic for his wellness exam. We were told that we should consider knee surgery for him. We have noticed several things that made sense once they told us. He has difficulty getting in and out of the car, going up and down the steps, has a slight limp, has trouble getting in and out of bed or the couch. this surgery would help in the long run. Kermit is always happy, loves car rides, playing ball and loves people. He gets very excited when he knows people are around especially our son. He has figured out the dog park and has a boston terrier that he loves to chase. We feel that this surgery would relief the discomfort that he is in. also we help him in the future. at this time we cant afford the quote of $4400 as we had someone steal money from us.

Jack was 1 1/2 years when he was adopted from the animal shelter in Salinas in 2018. He lives with me and another dog I adopted from the shelter named Jill that I adopted 6 months after Jack to he would have someone to keep him busy while I was at work. He is a great dog and is so loveable. He loves his sister Jill and protects both of us. Jack is in need of major dental work as he needs many teeth extracted. He was also diagnosed with severe case of arthritis and his bones ache. He walks funny due to this. He is currently at home, but Animal Health Center in Salinas will be doing his surgery. Jack is very special to me as he has helped me get through many difficulties and surgeries in the past year. He is a great companion and is so loveable. He can tell you when someone will be knocking at the door. He will give you his leash when he is ready for a walk. He smiles when he gets groomed or brush his teeth. Normally, I would not be asking for help, but I recently got injured and have been out of work for 6 months and my financial situation has been rough. I cannot afford to have this surgery for Jack, and it kills me to see him in pain. Any amount helps. Thank you

Dexter has been a part of our life for 2 years now. My son found him at a gas station. We have other dogs and Dexter has been so good for the older dogs. He has made them all more active. He is truly a blessing. I had to take Dexter to the Audubon Animal Clinic back in March for a UTI. Well he started acting the same way a few days ago. I took him back to Audubon Animal Clinic yesterday (9/5/2024). He is full of bladder stones. He is having surgery today. I just do not know how I am going to pay the balance of $1,100.00. He is such a great dog and a wonderful companion. He has never had any training but he acts as an emotional support dog for my husband who has bipolar disorder. Dexter can tell when he is having a hard time and will immediately lay his head on his chest to calm him. I cannot imagine life without him. The bladder stones were quite a surprise! I thought it was just another UTI. I was unprepared for the expense of surgery. I am also experiencing issues with electric at home and cannot afford any additional expenses. But this is my boy and I cannot let him suffer.
