I was volunteering at my local shelter during high school as a graduation requirement, but I ended up loving it and volunteering for two more years after highschool. Just before I graduated, I adopted Twiggy when she was a year old. Then we traveled up and down the CA coast and even parts of Death Valley. She's been best friend thru a lot of hardships. I need a$400 deposit just to secure her appointment because RADPET in Corvallis thinks she has dental disease and is gonna need most of her teeth pulled. She had a swollen cheek that turned into an open wound and start draining:( Then it's going to be at least another $500 for the dental work itself. She loves people. She gets excited and sqeals when someone walks into the room she's in. She loves to follow me around the house and be apart of every little thing I do. She gets along with my younger dog, but she has always preferred people over other animals. She's the kinda dog that makes others want to get one and I have to tell them, she's not like other dogs. I have been homeless for the past 10 years and fighting an SS disability case for the last 3-4 years. I am living off of $340/month from general assistance. I can ask for loans from family, but my relationship with them is already strained and my dogs are all I have...

Molly came into our lives a few years ago because my best friend and partner at the time saw her picture from a breeder needing foster parents for her dogs. She had been abused by her original owner and their other dogs. Molly is the sweetest and most loving dog. She has been a member of our family and heart since 2019 and we've loved her every minute because of her gentleness and loyalty. I drove her last night about 1 and 1/2 hours to MedVet in Asheville NC because when we got home there was blood and poop all over the house and Molly was lying on the floor in shock. We put her in my car and I turned on the emergency blinkers and petted and talked with her the whole way. I panicked several times when her head drooped and not afraid to admit as a 69 year old man I cried and prayed Molly could easily become mean after being abused early in life but instead she became a lover and gentle soul. I have heard her bark maybe several times in the years we had the privilege of her company. She became my emotional partner after moving back to NC after a heart procedure in 2022. Her constant love, loyalty, and devotion have kept me functioning and giving me the courage to keep going. I'm about to be 70 years old next week and still working part-time to supplement my Social Security because I have to support myself and keep Molly healthy and happy. I'm a proud person and never wanted to ask for help but Molly needs and deserves support and for her I will.

Bella came to me because my 11-year-old son said, "Mom, you need someone to love you unconditionally to help you get through cancer." My Bella became my heart and soul and lay next to me for years during cancer treatments. She’s in the hospital right now in the ICU with kidney failure. They say the treatment is going to be very expensive with a couple of days in the ICU and then continued care? The doctor said if we can get her through the rough patch for the next three days, we have a chance. Unfortunately, to stay alive, she will need constant care, which they said will be very expensive and require a specialist. She’s one of the kindest, most loyal, loving protective love bug you will ever meet. She sat in bed with me during Radiation and never left my side. For a year, she just laid there in bed next me, never complaining to go out just snuggled up next me to comfort me. She is my heart and the most loving dog in the Due to the cancer, I'm not able to work and I'm on disability. I need financial help to keep my baby stay alive. She is my heart and I can't imagine losing her because of money. Please help

Hi there this is our family dog and protector Odie! Hes a Catahoula lepord Mix and we got him when he was about 3mo old and he is now 8! He does great w/my kids, 2 cats and his pack leader Sadie! He is my emotional support dog he paws at me to go outside which makes me have to get out of the house otherwise I might be stuck inside as I have Anxiety disorder and he keeps me healthy! Odie puked up a furry toy that was in tact but since then he has been puking,loss of appetite,and was pooping, but now he is no longer pooping and his vo it tonight was so much that my son and I took him to Emergency,but was told we must have all $$ up-front. Odie NEEDS an xray to see if there is a blockage if so i have a vet, Dr.Clark lined up who said he can probably do the surgery on payments Odie is very special to my kids and to my mental health as he keeps me healthy and gets me out of the house! Odie Loves car rides,absolutely loves whip cream,has 2 cat friends and his pack leader Sadie that he knows us boss lol Odie is very protective of our family,but once you're correctly introduced you will be part of his pack! He means so much to us and this would break my family's heart. Im in desperate need of help.I've never had anything like this happen to us. We are a "Fixed" income family as i get SSI and TANF! They sleep together, play together, and are clearly confused and sad without him home right now. Help My Sweet Boy Blitz Fight for His Life Charleston Veterinary Referral Center | Dr. Rebekah Sullivant He’s been diagnosed with jaundice, and they suspect serious underlying liver or bile duct issues. He’s undergoing extensive diagnostics and treatments—bloodwork, ultrasound, IV support, and more. The costs have already added up quickly, and there’s still a long road ahead. Blitz is patient, loving, and silly in the most endearing ways. He loves to chase toy mice, sunbathe in his favorite window spot, and follow me from room to room just to be near. When someone in the family is sad, he’s right there with cuddles and nose boops. He’s especially close to me, we have a bond that words can’t describe. He’s my shadow, my emotional support, and my heart. This has been one of the most emotionally and financially overwhelming times of my life. Blitz’s sudden illness came out of nowhere, and the emergency and specialty care he needs is expensive but necessary. Having him healthy again would be the greatest gift.

LuLu, her sister, and momma are still trying to start recovering from hurricane Helene. We just got back home and momma is struggling to get the house back to "normal" and head above water. LuLu came to me when she fit in both of my hands and has been with me every single day since. She is my saving grace, accountability, heart, and soul. LuLu somehow swallowd a sewing needle and it's traveled to her liver. The hospital is wanting more then I can afford. I lost my income because of the storm and until I get my home back up and running I'm scraping pennies and living on prayers. Some of us are still trying to recover and barely getting help with that.. LuLu has more sass and attitude then any furbaby I've met. She loves to love and she loves attention. She struts in the room and it's all eyes on her. LuLu loved her sister Baby. Above all she is her momma's saving grace. Its amazing what 1 small animal can do to a person's life. She helped change me to the me I am today and I pray I don't lose her.. As I stated above I'm struggling like most Western Carolina folks after the storm. I've been spending the last year of my life fighting for my home and property to get rebuilt. I've been trying to get on disability for the last 3 years and no luck..living on prsyere

We got Guts as a baby two years ago. He was in a litter of kittens that was being given away. We take him everywhere with us and he is part of the family. Guts was taken to the emergency vet for trouble urinating. The vet said he has crystals in his bladder. They had to perform surgery and unblock his bladder. Guts loves to go hiking/camping. He loves dogs and walks on a leash. He likes to go swimming and loves bath time. Guts is extremely sweet and playful. We've taken Guts to the ER twice now and this last time was really expensive. We have fixed income and it's difficult when emergencies arise. One of our cars has been in the shop lately and we've been paying to fix it.

9/6/21 I received a call for 3 orphaned kittens that had not even opened their eyes yet. They were estimated to be at about 5 days old. That was my Chip, his twin sister and his brother. Those first 2 months were a whirl wind of learning, studying and no sleep. My family and I worked diligently around the clock to keep those precious babies alive. The past 3 years up until now Chip has been well. I was recommended to BlueWaters Animal Hospital in Gainesville, GA under the compassionate care of Dr. Andrew Quesada and his team. Dr. Quesada has been nothing short of amazing, so compassionate and caring. Chip is under emergency care from a urethra blockage induced by stress. The Vet believes being separated from me the last 3 weeks could be part of the stress that has caused his ailments. The past 3 years up until now Chip has been a healthy boy. He loves to talk to me like are having a real conversation, always ready for snuggles, and he takes his babysitting duties seriously (even though he’s a binki bandit lol). Hes the biggest, sweetest fur baby anyone could ever ask for. His brother and sister are paceing around looking for him not understanding the severity of how sick he is. Chip cannot come home with me unless the vet bill is paid. I’m so distraught and wouldn’t ask for any help unless I ABSOLUTELY needed it. Thank you guys so much in advance for any help you are able to give and please lift him up in prayer!

Hobbs came into our life through the cat distribution system. He was outside our car and we took him in. We lost our cat in march and it’s been very tough. He’s an angel on earth. He currently has ring worm but we are giving him the best care possible. We love him so much already. We were going to just foster him but fell in love. Hobbs last night started to shallow breath and had a fever so we rushed him to the vet. He’s being hospitalized and has an iv of medication. He’s also being given oxygen. He’s so special, he’s like a cat in a dogs body. He’s such a cuddly kitty that has such a cute personality. He’s the best thing that’s happened to us! He loves his dog siblings though he hasn’t been able to interact with them just yet. This has been very unexpected. His cost is 5000 and we just spent 4000 on a surgery for our dog. When we lost our cat, we paid 1,500 so we have had a lot of vet bills piling up. We are getting married next year and that has also impacted our income. We are struggling a lot.
