Dolly

Dolly is a 5 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Allen, TX, who needs $2,000 for ICU, Blood Transfusions-Babesia Gibsoni Treatment.

Allen, TX

I rescued Dolly from the Fort-worth animal shelter back in December 2022. We were experiencing extreme cold temperatures and the shelter put out a plea for help to foster and adopt, because they would have to euthanize a large number of dogs because the shelter was overcrowded and dogs were being housed outside. I saved Dolly from potential euthanasia, as well as her brother. I went home with two. Dolly had an emergency splenectomy on February 13 2025, she was recovering well until her CBC lab values dropped to critical, 2 months later. She is fighting Babesia Gibsoni that was dormant until her spleen was removed. Dolly needs continued ICU care and blood transfusions in order to buy her time to allow the medications to start working. She was at MedVet Dallas. I had to bring her home today. It took Dolly 6 months to walk out the front door. She was completely shut down when we rescued her. She was afraid of everything and especially men. With love and patience she was able to overcome her fears with me and only me. She will not go on walks unless I am with her. If I am walking behind her she will stop and wait for me to catch up, we walk together as our souls are intertwined. We are still paying off her emergency splenectomy, we used our emergency fund for her first emergency and now we are dealing with another and don’t have that fund available anymore. I am a full time student and I work part time while I try to finish school.

Eve

Eve is a 13 year old Bengal in Odessa, TX, who needs $2,000 for Ultrasound, Blood Work, and Medication.

Odessa, TX

My pet was a 10th anniversary gift from my husband. I had loved Bengal cats for years but did not want to pay a backyard breeder. My husband found this sweet kitten in a rescue - she was 3 months old and needing a forever home, and we bonded the second I held her! The sweetest Bengal Ive ever seen - She even helped raise a foster cat’s kittens at one point. My sweet baby started losing weight in December and needed blood work. We sold some items to get her some bloodwork, and found out her spleen is dangerously enlarged, but we were unable to afford an ultrasound or any extra bloodwork at the time, the vet said her issue is more than likely IBD or cancer, and gave her a steroid shot. I will do anything to help her. My baby is the smartest, sweetest cat I e ever seen. She learned to sit, shake and lay down for treats, and has always been the mama figure for any foster cats we have had. She sleeps in bed with me, curled up in my arms, and she lays quietly next to me when I’m having a migraine. She helps me cope with so many things and I feel I’ve failed her because I can’t afford better care. My husband and I are both disabled and live on a very tight budget. We are still paying off 2 of my husband’s 8 back surgeries, and I put off getting an MRI because of the $400 copay. We rely on food banks some months to pay bills and need help for my innocent cat’s health

SweetPea

SweetPea is a 14 year old Mix-Breed in St Petersburg, FL, who needs $2,000 for Cardiologist -X-Rays, Ultrasound, Bloodwork etc.

St Petersburg, FL

SweetPea was a rescue from the local humane society...she was the tiniest little itty bitty thing & when she saw me she climbed up the cage bars and reached out & grabbed me begging me to take her home...so I did! She had a horrible sinus infection & wasn't eating because she couldn't smell her food so for the first few days until the antibiotics cleared that up I had to syringe feed her. About 2 years ago she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism & apparently it is common for cats with that to develop congestive heart failure...which she has. We have already spent over $1000 on vet bills & she NEEDS to see a specialist but we just do not have the money...if I did I would hand it over without question. We desperately need help to help her & it is eating me up that I may not be able to help her simply because I don't have the finances to. She is a very special little girl, her other kitties & her puppy love her & are very worried about her. She is a very unique & loving sensitive girl when you understand her & how she communicates. All I want is to be able to get her the help she needs. I will happily eat mac & chees & ramen noodles forever to save every penny I can to help her but the fact is we don't have the money for the specialist that she needs to see to get the medication she needs & any help you can provide no matter how small means the world to us!
