Hugs

Hugs is a 4-year-old Shorthair Cat in OH who needs $1,600 for Oral Surgery.

E park blvd, OH

We adopted hugs about four years ago from a shelter. He has three cat siblings that he loves and that love him. He got his name because he gives the best hugs and is a very lovey cat <3 He’s bonded to our other cat named garbanzo and they do everything together, wherever hugs is garbanzo is following closely behind. They eat together, sleep together and play together. He loves to burrow in blankets and carry around stuffed animals. Hugs will run to you as soon as you open the front door. He’s really snuggly and will jump right into your lap to cuddle. He loves everyone and even likes other animals. He’s curious about the outdoors so in the summer we set him up a little catio. He loves tortillas and any kind of bread. His favorite toy is a laser pointer or the disco ball when it’s sunny out. He will carry around any stuffed animal he can get to. He sits in the window and will chirp at the birds all day long. He’s also a pro fly and knat catcher. He’s super goofy and really uncoordinated. Hugs was diagnosed with stomatitis about a year ago. We’ve tried a handful of medications/treatments that have not worked. Sadly, he needs to have all of his teeth removed as he’s in a lot of pain. We originally were trying to save his teeth but nothing worked and he really needs a full extraction. We recently lost our apartment to a fire on Christmas. This would help out a lot with his medical bills. We’ve got some money saved up that will go towards his bills.

Penelope

Penelope is a 9-year-old Chihuahua in Rio Rancho , NM, who needs $2,000 for Dental Extractions.

Rio Rancho, NM

Hi, my name is Melinda and my little girls name is Penelope. Penelope came into my life in December of 2017 at the age of 4. I was scrolling through Facebook and a group that I'm in someone had posted a picture of Penelope stating "he regretfully had to rehome her". Long story but he loved her so much that he wanted her to have a life more suitable to her needs. I like to think she rescued me! Penelope loves to go for walks and loves car rides. I think she desires to be a motorcyclists! She absolutely loves when a big Harley pulls up next to us, she can hear the roar of their motor and gets super excited before even seeing it. She is not like any pet I've ever owned. It's like we were always meant to be together. She is always by my side, sleeps with me eats with me. A true companion. There's not enough space here to tell you how special my little girl is and how she means the world to me. She came to me when I didn't know that I needed her the most. My daughter who is 18 now always teases how Penelope gets more presents and attention then her! You won't see many pictures of Penelope with cute clothes on. She despises clothes she heads for the hills if she sees a shirt coming I'm reaching out for help because a few weeks ago Penelope started having significant nasal drainage and fevers. When I got her to the vet I found out she actually needs her teeth removed. Penelope also has Ocular seizures and this has been a rough time for her. I have always saved up to pay for vet bills and unexpected medical for her. But over the last 2 years I've not been able to save any extra money. I feel horrible that it has come to this but I can't watch my little girl suffer. The last act of kindness Is breaking my soul!

Luna

Luna is a 6-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Ramona, CA, who needs $1,000 for Hematoma Repair.

Ramona, CA

Luna lives with me and 6 other rescue kitties, that including her brother. She is the sweetest one of all and she mothers the rest of the group. All of my cats are best friends and the others all know something is wrong with Luna and have offered lots of love to her. We just moved from Idaho and I am waiting for my massage therapy license to come through so I can start working again. I have had Luna since birth and when she was old enough I just couldn’t let her go. She was the sweetest of the kittens and I can’t bear to think of her not in my life. We just finished building a catio attached to the house so they can be “outside” while still being indoor kitties. She loves the other cats and she is friendly to everyone she meets. Luna is my snuggle kitty. She insists on sleeping with me in my bed, under the covers with her head on the pillow each night. If I don’t let her in or fall asleep before she comes to bed she will gently tap my nose to ask me to let her in the bed with me. I don’t ever sleep alone with her in my life. Two days ago I noticed Luna was shaking her head and promptly made a vet appointment to find out what’s going on. In the two days I had to wait for her appointment her ear has swollen completely and it is completely closed. The vet said that surgery is required and there is no non-surgical option for her. Her veterinarian is wonderful but the cost of the surgery is more than I can afford. I am a massage therapist and I just moved to CA from ID. I have been out of work while waiting for my license to transfer and it has caused me to get behind on my financial obligations. My cats mean the world to me and I consider myself to be a good and responsible pet owner

Vita

Vita is a 5-month-old English Setter Mix in Sparks, OK, who needs $2,000 for Orthopedic Surgery or Amputation of Leg.

Sparks, OK

Vita crawled her injured way up to my house and hid under my porch and decided to let us know that she was there by howling with the current dogs that reside here. She is now living inside with her family and three other pet brother and sisters. She is only around four to six months old. She has made herself at home easily with us and the others. Vita is a loving and playful pup considering her injuries. She likes her alone time as well, but when she is ready for cuddles she will walk up and lay her head against us. She does not interact much with the other dogs in the evenings, but in the mornings she wanders around them with her tail wagging and happy. She does like to talk a small bit by a quick whine and then a tail wag. She is an instant rub my belly type of girl! Her begging eyes comes out when you only give her a gentle pat without a few rubs. She is funny when she wants belly rubs she will walk around and lay back belly up over and over until someone rubs the belly! Vita is a sick little baby, at first we thought maybe she was hit by a car but upon examination from the vet it looks as if she was pelted with a shotgun that shattered her femur. She is looking at either a plate femur to be installed or amputation of her front leg. Meeker Animal Hospital has done a great job so far working with her on the infection from the wounds. I am on a fixed income of disability due to breaking my back and learning to walk again. I believe this young baby will be a great addition to my home and definitely boosts my spirit when she needs her daily cuddles.

Ace

Ace is a 2-year-old Australian Cattle / Mix in Hesperia, CA, who needs $2,000 for Hip Surgery.

Hesperia, CA

I adopted Ace October 29th 2020. He came into the shelter as a stray and I came across his picture online. I immediately inquired about him and was told he was put on a stray hold, meaning his owners had 14 days to come and claim him. No one claimed this beautiful boy and I had the honor of bringing him home. Ace boy loves an adventure. Whether it is camping, hiking or off-roading he is always by my side. He loves making friends, no matter the species. He greets everyone with a warm smile and the waggiest tail. My family hit a rough patch and we are In-between homes, so Ace has been staying at a family members house until we were able to get our new place. On June 18th I received a phone call that Ace was missing. Ace has never ran away from home so I feared the worst. His picture was posted on the ring app after 2 hours of searching and within 5 minutes we received a call. Ace was hit. He was found around 4 am laying in the road. Luckily, they noticed he was alive and they picked him up and took him home. One broken arm, 4 broken ribs and a dislocated hip. After paying a little over 1100$ for x-rays, medications, a splint and his stitches we were told he needs to have surgery for his hip. His surgery is anywhere from 2000$-2500$. If he doesn't get it he will never be mobile again and will always be in pain. My family is doing everything we can to come up with the money but we desperately need help. This couldn't have happened at a worse time for my family. We were only a few weeks away from bringing him back home with us. And now we might not ever get the chance if we can't get his surgery done before it's too late. Please help us. Please help him.

holly

Holly is a 1-year-old Mixed Breed Dog in Bristol, PA, who needs $2,000 for Knee Replacement.

Bristol, PA

I rescured Holly from a pets plus adoption. her shelter name was Marilsol, but since it was a few days before Christmas I changed it to Holly. I knew very little about her but I did contact the rescue that she came from and I found out that she was found abandoned on the side of the street in Mississippi with 3 siblings. holly is very attached to me, she loves to go bye-bye and loves playing with her toys. since the pandemic I work from home most days. she knows that when my laptop is up I'm working and she is quiet but at lunch I take her out to play and once I'm done working she's out. we also have 3 cats and a parrot that she gets along well with holly is such a "goober" she makes me laugh and she always is smiling. her tongue cracks me up the way it hangs out of her mouth on the side. i believe my late husband sent her to me since she actually puts a smile on my face since losing him to covid in 2020. she also has a "batman" symbol on her fur and my husband was a hug batman fan that's another reason I think he sent her to me holly started to limp I took her to the vet and he checked her out and said nothing was broken and she probably pulled a muscle ( she had slid on ice) a week later she was still limping but its not consistent.I took her back and some test were done and we found out that she has Luxating Patellas. she's a bigger dog and now her legs are giving out more often. vet said its best to do the surgery I lost my husband in 2020 to covid. I had 2 incomes now I'm down to just 1 now. I would love to have holly be able to play and run without pain and without her legs giving out on her. there are some days that I know she is in bad pain I hate to see her in pain

Mac

Mac is a 1-year-old Domestic Short Hair in New Haven, CT, who needs $2,000 for Ventral Bulla Osteotomy.

New Haven, CT

My partner and I rescued this baby from an Amish puppy mill last summer. We named her Mac and her birthday is June 19, 2020. She is the sweetest kitten ever and she has another cat sister that we got from another location! Now, the four of us live in our own apartment in a city in CT. They are very loved and very happy despite Mac’s medical condition that is worsening. Mac lives a spoiled life with her cat sister Pickle. Everyday they play, cuddle and run around knocking things over and making messes. Before we moved to our own apartment, Mac spent time with my grandfather and was always getting in his way, stealing his pens, laying on his keyboard. She is cuddly and loves to give love bites and knows how to ask for her 5am breakfast treats! My partner & I paid for past treatments, my grandparents helped pay for $3k CT scan. They are retired & can’t afford more, & we are in college full time. We are upset that we can’t pay to fix her as she is clearly in worsening pain & want her to get back to her happy self. When we first got Mac, she had some goop in her eye and a stuffy nose. We took her to an emergency vet one night and were told she had an URI. A few months later we noticed her ear smelled horrible and there were crusty pieces coming out. We took her to her primary vet multiple times and no medicine ever helped. After trying to fix it and nothing working, we took her to a Cat Clinic. Although Mac is a lovey, she is crazy! She has energy that she exudes veeeery early in the morning. 3-5am! She meows for treats, rather loudly, and loves to instigate a play fight with our other cat. Her favorite toy is a cat laser which she chases like a mad woman. When boxes are opened, she hops in no matter how small and will stay inside of them for as long as she can.

CHAI

CHAI is a 3-year-old Calico/Siamese in Pacoima, CA, who needs $1,074 for bladder obstruction.

pacoima, CA

Chai was originally going to be named Chives but Chives are the total opposite of Chai, he is as sweet, comforting and makes us as happy as a nice cup of warm tea. He was found on a sidewalk and signs were put up but no one claimed him. We were secretly happy and that's been his story for the last few years. He is my youngest daughter's best friend and it's her sibling because her sisters are much older. Everyone who meets Chai falls in love. When we found him it was love at first hold, he is so easy to love. My youngest sister is very attached to Chai boy as she has no one else to play with. Between her and her 2 oldest sisters, there is a 17-year difference. I am a single mother with two dependents, including my 9-year-old daughter and an older daughter who is physically disabled. I was declined care credit and had to rely on 1 daughter who maxed her credit and debit cards at Access. He's now at Rainbow Vet hospital. This is the 2nd round of treatment after 5-day hospitalization less than 48 hours ago. He originally had an emergency bladder obstruction but could not receive surgery as he was not stable. He is now being seen at a different hospital. He was at Access Animal Specialty Hospital in San Fernando valley. He is now at Rainbow Veterinary Hospital to be stabilized. "Chai boy" is dearly loved and was rescued from the street when was 1. He chose us and means the world to my family. He is the sweetest, loving boy. He nudges at us constantly for attention and love. He's 19 lbs and still desires to be carried around the house. He never misses family dinners nor talks around the dining table... We'd like to think it's because he wants to be with us 24/7.

Leo

Leo is a 4-year-old Mancoon in Madison, CT, who needs $500 for bladder blockage.

Madison, CT

I rescued him and he has made my life full of happiness and joy, I love him sooooo much!!! He lives a happy and healthy life, has a baby brother and is in a safe warm environment. Also gets lots of love hugs and kisses. He gets water and there are 2 food dishes and 3 litter boxes for my 2 cats. I have a number of beds for them throughout my place as well. It's just me and my brother who lives next door also watches after him and his brother when I am away for more than a couple of nights. Adores my boyfriend. But mostly he likes and adores his mommy. He protects me and I make sure he is always happy! He adores my brother and enjoys his company, and that is why I adopted another cat so he would have a brother. I just don't have a great income but I am working on that and of course Covid messed up a lot of my money issues. I didn't have an income for a while and had bills to pay of course and now I'm still catching up. He has a bladder blockage which I don't really know how to explain it but that I am scared to death for him. He is my baby and he needs surgery and I just don't have the finances right now, which is why I am in a panic, but he is so young and all I want is for him to get better, he doesn't deserve this. He is special because I rescued him when I was going through a hard time in my life and knew I needed a friend. Also he is just like me, very stubborn but very loving, and super sassy and does random cute things like rolls over and makes these little grunt noises which are soo cute, also he always let's me know if his food dish is just a little too empty!
