We saved Daisy from euthanasia at the Dallas Animal Shelter in the final minutes before closing. Daisy is a 9‑year‑old shepherd mix who has endured more than any dog should. She was hit by a car, suffered a broken leg, and experienced significant trauma. She was originally adopted from another rescue, but due to her medical condition and financial limitations, they cannot take her back. No owner has come forward. She has no one — except us. She’s receiving pain management and medication for neurological issues. She is trying so hard to fight. Daisy’s leg cannot heal on its own. Because of her head trauma, she is not a safe candidate for amputation at this time. To save her leg — and give her the best chance at a real future — she needs an orthopedic surgeon. The estimated cost is $5,000, and the surgery must happen ASAP. If we cannot raise the funds, amputation will be the only option. After everything she’s survived, Daisy deserves better than that. She’s not the fluffy, photogenic puppy that gets thousands of shares. She’s a 30‑pound, older black dog who has been overlooked her entire life. But she is gentle, resilient, and so deserving of a second chance. Please help us save her leg — and her life. 5/28/26 Update: From Tragedy to Hope: Daisy’s Surgery Is Just Days Away Daisy was seen at Mercy Animal Clinic for a senior blood panel, a neurological evaluation after her accident, and to have her injured leg re-examined and recast. This sweet girl has already survived more than most dogs ever will. Not only did she make it through being hit by a car, but we also learned she is high‑positive for heartworms. Daisy’s past hasn’t been kind to her. She was abandoned in Houston when she needed her people the most, then taken in by a local rescue and eventually adopted out. At some point her adopters moved to the Dallas area, and somewhere along the way Daisy once again found herself alone. It’s easy to say she was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time when she was struck by a car — but that moment is also what ultimately brought her to CAMO Rescue, where she finally has a real chance at healing. The truth is, without intervention, Daisy was a dead‑dog‑walking. But her spirit never gave up. Her soul is golden, gentle, and resilient, and with time she will learn to trust humans again. Her medical needs will easily reach the $5k mark, and we are preparing to move forward with her surgery to repair her leg within the next couple of days so she can finally begin her true recovery. During her visit yesterday, Daisy was pampered as much as she could tolerate while her cast was changed. Even after everything she’s endured, she remains soft, patient, and hopeful. Daisy’s story is shifting — from survival to safety, from abandonment to love, and from pain to the promise of a better life. 6/1/26 Update: Surgery Success, New Challenges Ahead — Daisy Still Needs Support Sweet Daisy made it through surgery and it was a huge success. Her leg looks incredible, and even though she faced some tough moments afterward, this brave girl is now back home resting safely. We’ll be watching over her closely tonight as she begins her long journey toward healing. ❤️‍🩹 Daisy is still fighting some big battles — her white blood cell count is high, so she’s on antibiotics, and she’s also heartworm positive, which we’re actively treating. She has more on her plate than any dog should, yet she continues to show nothing but courage and heart. This little girl is truly one of the bravest souls we’ve ever met, and she deserves every chance at a healthy, pain‑free life. 6/14/26 Update Daisy is finally getting the love, comfort, and care she has always deserved in her foster home. Every day, she continues to heal, and we're hopeful that her neurological challenges are now behind her. She is a gentle, quiet soul who finds so much joy in simply being outside and discovering what it means to be loved. We believe Daisy spent much of her life as an outdoor dog, with very little attention or affection. Because of that, even the simplest acts of kindness are still new and precious to her. Daisy is truly a miracle. Despite everything she has been through, she remains sweet, trusting, and full of hope. She has never known the security of a permanent, loving home—a place where she was cherished as family. But when she found her way to this rescue, her life began to change. Now, Daisy's story is one of healing, second chances, and the promise of a brighter future. She deserves a family who will show her every day just how special she is and give her the love she's been waiting for her entire life. ❤️🐾 6/27/26 Update Do you remember Daisy—the sweet girl who was hit by a car, suffered neurological injuries, and had a broken front leg? Today, we're so happy to share that Daisy has made an incredible recovery. Thanks to the love and dedication of her foster family, she has healed in more ways than one. Now Daisy is ready for her next chapter—a forever home where she will be cherished for the rest of her life. Daisy is approximately 7 years old, weighs 30 pounds, and has so much love left to give. Pepper came into our lives in September 2021 at 9 weeks old. She was a tiny kitten with a lot of heart and was ready to provide the love we always looked for in a pet. She is an absolute joy in our lives. Pepper was injured on June 29, 2025. The details of her injury are unknown. She was called into the house for breakfast and showed up with a broken leg. She was immediately rushed to VCA for care. Pepper is the best snuggle kitty ever. She knows when we are not well and her presence brings peace and joy. Although a shy cat at first, she does eventually warm up to newcomers in our home and is nothing but sweet and gentle. Pepper suffered a break/fracture to her tibia that requires surgical intervention. I was told average cost of surgical care and treatment will run nearly $10,000. I do not have this kind of money for surgery costs and will take her to her normal vet for less costly treatment

Sir Purr came into our lives 2 years ago - we rescued him from the shelter and he has been apart of our family ever since. He currently is an inside cat with lots of personality. On Saturday sep 19, I came home from work and noticed he could not walk on his hind legs. After 4 vet visits we found out he has a disclocated hip. Since we could not afford the vet bill, instead of a simple fix he will need surgery now within the next 3 days. Our vet that we have chosen to go to is Complete Pet Care in Raleigh NC. Any and all help with be used strictly for his procedure. The theories about orange cats are true! He is a crazy little dude who loves his dog brother and sister as well as his human sister. He is super sweet and makes every human he meets fall in love! Unfortunately this of course was not planned and nothing something I would think to ever happen. As to how this happened - we still aren’t sure. I just recently lost my car and had to use all of my savings to get a new one so I can’t do anything right now to help him.

Tangerine came to It's Meow or Never as a tiny two week old bottle baby and has faced one challenge after another. She spent her first year battling chronic upper respiratory infections and managing lifelong food allergies. Just as her immune system was finally getting stronger, her foster woke up one morning to find Tangerine running a 106°F fever. She wasn't eating, wasn't acting like herself, and was rushed to the vet, where bloodwork showed the signs of Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). After 84 days of treatment, Tangerine beat FIP and is officially cured. But during her FIP treatment, Tangerine began showing signs of another problem. She was drooling, pawing at her mouth, and clearly experiencing dental pain. She was diagnosed with Feline Chronic Gingivostomatitis (FCGS), a severe and extremely painful inflammatory disease that affects the tissues inside the mouth. Eating, grooming, and even opening her mouth can be painful, yet Tangerine continues to be her happy, playful self. Because cats undergoing FIP treatment cannot undergo surgery, we had to wait until Tangerine was officially cured before treating her mouth. After consultations with multiple veterinarians, a full-mouth extraction is the best option to give her a chance at a pain free life. This isn't a routine dental. FCGS can cause tooth resorption, making extractions more complicated and time-consuming than a standard dental. Tangerine's surgery is estimated to cost $1,400. As a rescue, we never want finances to determine whether an animal receives the care they need. Tangerine has already overcome more than any cat should have to, and now she deserves the chance to enjoy the rest of her life without constant pain. He was on a special diet. Due to me being in the 🏥. He ran out of food, I got food for just for one week that he’s not supposed to eat. But after eating that food for five days, now he’s blocked again. I know now that no matter what I have to stock up on his food in case of an 🚑 again. I don’t want him to have to go through this again at all. Koba is very close to his brother Kylo and his sisters Sakura and Daisy.They haven’t been eating much since he has been sick and was laying beside him as well. Now they pick at their food because he isn’t here right now.Koba loves catnip and toys that rattle.He don’t let you use the bathroom in peace.He will pull the door open with his paws.He will talk to you like why did you shut the door on me. *WARNING* Graphic pictures This poor puppy is only 9 months. He was the last of an unplanned litter to be adopted. "Fat Boy’s owners thought they found him a great home." Susie's Hope tells Waggle. "The new adopters had only been gone with Fat Boy for 20 minutes when they called to say he had escaped." His original dad, Trey, drove immediately to the new owner’s home and heard screaming. Trey's heart sank as he ran towards Fat Boy, now lying motionless in the middle of the street. He was cruelly struck by a hit and run driver. Gently lifting him into his truck, they drove straight to an emergency veterinary hospital. X-rays revealed that not only did he have a broken pelvis, but he had also experienced a painful degloving injury to his hind leg. Fat Boy remained at the specialty hospital for 3 days, receiving around the clock emergency care, until being transferred to their local vet. The wound is at a high risk of infection. It had unfortunately become infected and tissue was dying. His vet cleaned and removed the dead tissue and recommended skin grafts by a specialty surgeon which would cost an additional $5000 on top of the $6000. "Trey had decided to sell his truck to raise the funds to save his beloved dog. This is the point that he contacted us for assistance and advice." Susie's Hope is a 501c3 rescue who generously stepped in to help. "We made arrangements for our experienced and trusted vet to see if she felt skin grafts were necessary due to the location of the injury." Luckily it is not - greatly reducing the cost. "Needless to say, Fat Boy is never leaving their family! Trey is an amazing person and a hard working automotive mechanic." Please pray for precious Fat Boy and donate if possible! Bella is a cherished member of her family and community. The beautiful yellow Labrador is an emotional support dog to her human mom, Angela M., and her community. "She serves everyone from small children to the elderly with terminal ailments," Angela tells Waggle. "From physical to emotional needs, Bella is there to sense who needs her. She never fails to put a smile on their face either with kisses or a toy." But Angela and those who rely on Bella were devastated when she had breathing problems and soon after needed emergency surgery because her stomach flipped. On top of that, she developed post-op pneumonia and is hospitalized in the ICU. Angela is distraught, trying to visit Bella in the hospital while struggling to pay her enormous medical bill. "I work seven days, two jobs, and 60 hours a week," Angela says. "One job is a small business and the other as a babysitter. My savings are gone. Payment is due at discharge, and all three of her issues have been life or death. Please help any way that you can."

Chico was our first family dog. We rescued him from the home he was living in over 13 years ago. He was clearly abused and fearful when he came into our home. He cowered his head, walked away and did not engage. Over time, he learned to trust us and allowed us to pet him and he gained confidence in approaching us. My brother even trained him on basic commands (sit, speak, down, roll over, paw). When I moved out, I took Chico with me. I was the one who fed, walked, bathed and played with him. I made sure he was up to date on vaccines and purchased his food and supplies. Chico loves people of all ages. He will approach people and say hi or wait for them to acknowledge him. Chico is docile. He sleeps a lot which is normal for his age. Chico loves car rides and going for walks. Chico became my ESA and has been my saving grace in treating my ptsd and depression. Chico has accompanied me to many museums and miles and miles of hiking trails. When no one else was there for me, CHICO was there. Chico helped me overcome the grief from the passing of my late boyfriend. Most recently, Chico protected me from an abusive ex boyfriend. Chico is everything to me. Chico is a senior dog. As he ages, his energy and health is declining. He was recently diagnosed with vestibular disease. A tumor was discovered on his spleen that needs to be removed surgically. If the tumor ruptures, he will be in physical pain and will bleed internally. This is a sudden and costly procedure. Please help us. I wish Chico could live with me forever. He is my furbaby and best friend. I work as a server and I work very hard to keep a roof over our heads. This surgery would put me in debt.

We rescued Apollo when he was only 7 weeks old. He’s a small chihuahua. He’s white with brown spots on his ears and the left side of his body. He’s a very loving dog and has a brother captain. We’ve had him for 2 years and has been a great addition to our home. Both dogs are two years old and practically attached to the hip. It’s been very hard for both of them being separated. Apollo is a very calm dog but does get excited whenever we get home. He loves catching tennis balls and frisbees. He loves running around with his brother and taking naps on our couch. He loves sunbathing in the front yard in the grass and he loves laying down and napping with the house cat. He’s very protective of his owners and has a very strong will. Apollo love cuddling and sleeping on on your stomach. He’ll jump and spin when you give him a treat and high fives. He always perks up when he hears the word treat and play or outside. He loves running around and just being outside. Every time he goes out side he’ll always look back to make sure I’m there. Apollo was attacked by three large dogs Saturday March 11,2023 and has a fractured pelvis and will need surgery within a the week. We took Apollo to our local vet and they didn’t have the equipment to determine the extent of his injuries. He was taken to the emergency pet hospital. From there we were recommended to a vet hospital where they have veterinary surgeons My family has suddenly received a lot of debt and we are going through a financial hardship and unfortunately cannot afford the entire bill for this surgery. It would mean so much to us to be able to receive some help in getting our dog better as back to his happy self
